Celebrated artist Duke Dumont returns with new track “The Chant” out now via Astralwerks. Listen HERE.

The latest in Duke’s reputable ‘For Club Play Only’ underground series, “The Chant” is an artistic statement. An ode to British rave, the new track presents a meticulously crafted palette of arpeggiated vocal sequencing, euphoric trance synths and a textured rhythm section. A warehouse anthem, “The Chant” solidifies Duke’s status as one of the most versatile record producers of our generation.

Speaking on the new track, Duke said “Music is made to be experienced in places. A jointy pop song in your car, listening to the radio on the way to work. Hearing sped up versions of a classic song on your phone scrolling through social media. ‘The Chant’ is there to be played in a muddy field. Conjuring euphoria. Dedicated to all the ravers dancing in muddy fields. Living in the moment and nothing else.”

Although his first release of the year, Duke has steadily and not-so-quietly been building a formidable live show. Since his infamous Coachella 2022 set in which his awe-inspiring visuals coupled with a reconstruction of his music was unveiled, Duke has doubled down on what it means to offer an experience to the listener, truly emphasizing the live experience. Duke’s taken his live show across the globe, with notable shows in Australia, including Splendour In The Grass and America, including The Shrine (LA), The Mirage (NY), and Coachella.

2023 will see Duke continue his ongoing run of shows stateside, with his biggest US LIVE* headline set to date at Colorado’s iconic Red Rocks on October 27th. Tickets on sale now.

“The Chant” arrives a decade on from Need U (100%) feat. A*M*E, which soared straight to number 1 in the UK. It became the first UK house track to do so in over a decade, reaching Platinum certification, and opening a gap in the British music consciousness for dance music to prosper on a grand scale.

Beyond the charts, the underground explorations of his ‘For Club Play Only’ shine a light on his multifaceted acclaim and what makes Duke such an exciting proposition. Success to him is not defined by chart positions, nor does he make music with that in mind. His approach to putting the art first has still resulted in him being one of the world’s most successful electronic artists and somewhat of a commercially successful behemoth, with over 5M monthly Spotify listeners.

The release of “The Chant” is an example of an artist with over two decades of experience whose artistic integrity stays uncompromised.

Dom Pérignon announces that it is joining forces with The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the world’s premier culinary college, to support the first-ever Master’s in Culinary Arts degree program via 360 MAGAZINE.

Dom Pérignon × CIA

Dom Pérignon announces that it is joining forces with The Culinary Institute of America (CIA), the world’s premier culinary college, to support the first-ever Master’s in Culinary Arts degree program. The Dom Pérignon Scholarship Fund will fully support tuition for 20 students in the unique program, which integrates two years of unprecedented experiential learning at world-class restaurants and features residencies at the CIA’s New York campus and the Champagne House in France.
The program is designed to prepare the next generation of leading restauranteurs for ownership and success. In addition to its scholarship support, a grant from Dom Pérignon helped underwrite the development of the program by the CIA.

The Champagne House recognizes its role and responsibility in supporting the future of gastronomy.  As Cellar Master Vincent Chaperon notes:

“Dom Pérignon’s creative ambition is a perpetual quest for harmony as a source of emotion – a quest that is shared by great chefs in our mutual ambition to create memorable meals and pairings. Because of that connection, the culinary arts and fine wine have always been intimately linked, and at Dom Pérignon we recognize a responsibility to the future of gastronomy.  Our vision is to nurture a profound appreciation for the art of living in the next generation. The Dom Pérignon Scholarship Fund, made possible through the Culinary Institute of America, is the first step in bringing that vision to life.”

This first-of-its-kind program will feature content in areas including professional excellence in cooking, culinary history, agriculture, responsible product sourcing, and sustainability; the relationship between wine and food. And entrepreneurship and business leadership.

“Since our founding in 1946, The Culinary Institute of America has played an integral part in elevating the chef profession, educating more than 50,000 students who have gone on to lead every facet of food, beverage and hospitality,” says CIA President Dr. Tim Ryan. “We are excited now to announce the launch of the first of its kind graduate-level program to further underscore the mastery, craftsmanship, and business acumen of the culinary arts. It is truly a special time for the CIA and the profession. And we are grateful to Dom Pérignon for their support of this groundbreaking program.”

To kick off the program and further support its mission, world-renowned chefs, including Thomas Keller, Kyle Connaughton, Niki Nakayama, Val Cantú, and CIA alumna Daisy Ryan participated in an exclusive fireside conversation alongside Cellar Master Vincent Chaperon and CIA President and Certified Master Chef, Dr. Tim Ryan, discussing their personal career experiences, trials and triumphs, and the importance—and future—of culinary education.

As Chef Kyle Connaughton notes, “It’s been incredibly rewarding to work with this group to create a program for young chefs to become the next generation of thoughtful leaders for our profession. Looking back, the challenges in going from chef to chef-owner can be incredibly difficult, and we’ve set out to better prepare our future chefs with the knowledge and experience to move forward in their careers successfully.

Chef Thomas Keller shares, “I am incredibly proud to have worked with this group to realize the goal of launching a Master’s of Culinary Arts at The Culinary Institute of America (CIA). This effort and the work to bring this forward lie in the hard work and dedication of CIA President Dr. Tim Ryan, a community of chefs, and Dom Pérignon.

I am equally excited to host the first CIA Master of Culinary Arts cohort at The French Laundry. Our restaurant has always been a place for training, education, and mentoring and, over the past two decades, has helped launch many chef, restaurateur, and hospitality careers. The opportunity to finally add the CIA curriculum to ours will bring forth a quantum leap in education and better prepare the next generation to continue to elevate the standards of our profession and secure the future of restaurants. I am grateful to Dom Pérignon for their support of this incredible program, which has helped make it a reality.

I want to recognize the chef community for their continuous efforts and dedication to their craft and for nurturing those who walk through our doors every day. Restaurants have always been the heart of our communities, and we thank the CIA and those who helped teach generations of chefs. The next generation of chefs have the opportunity to receive a higher level of education to advance our profession even further.”

Candidates will be able to apply online at CIA Master’s in Culinary Arts starting May 2, 2023.

A CELEBRATION OF HYPER-LOCAL BIODIVERSITY

Named after an endangered Incan root vegetable, Mauka is an ode to the bounty of Cusquenian cuisine and its diverse produce, from the Andean mountains to the Amazon rainforest. At its core, Pía León‘s vision is to preserve Peruvian culture, transcending local gastronomy, curating moments to learn and experience the true root and origin of Andean cuisine.

Together with local farmers and artisans, Pía and her team continue her culinary legacy, incorporating Cusco’s history and biodiversity into the restaurant’s DNA, with menu items such as grains from the Andean plateau with pumpkin cream and beef cheek cooked at a low temperature, Urumbamba giant corn, Pampa yuyo, and smoked caiguas. Weaving past, present, and future together, the menu curates unforgettable culinary experiences at the heart of the once capital of the Incan empire, using distinctive flavours from forgotten tropical and mountainous crops.

“Through my work, I aim to preserve and showcase the megadiversity of my country,” she says. ” I am thrilled to share my vision in Cusco at Palacio Nazarenas. Each region has its own ingredients, each with different tones and nuances, providing a clear identity and history. Mauka continues in the same vein, representing the natural meeting of Peruvian art, biodiversity, and cuisine.” says Pía León.

To accompany the dishes, a curated list of wines has been selected from local high-altitude vineyards. Cocktails are made with distillates developed by Mater, which aims to explore, register, and interpret Peruvian megadiversity. These include Q´aqe, a bitter made with 26 herbs and roots and foraged at 4,000 MASL (metres above sea level), and an Amazonian Spirit, made with a selection of fruits and botanicals from the local rainforest.

NATURAL CRAFT AND ELEGANT HISTORY

Mauka’s interiors have been curated to delight the senses, taking a step closer to the local land and people who keep culinary traditions and food of provenance alive. Guests are immersed in more than just food – natural lighting enhances the Andean Lenga wood and volcanic stone finishes, while the smooth texture of natural fabrics using botanical inks by local artists. The calm, relaxed interiors are further enhanced by a soundtrack recorded in nature with instrumentals composed by Peruvian artists. Tactile, handmade copper cutlery and pastel coloured ceramic plates – designed by the acclaimed chef and inspired by local crafts – welcome guests to each table.

AN EPICUREAN HOTSPOT IN THE ANDES

The day-to-day running of the kitchen is led by talented Head Chef Leonel Almanza. The Cusco native, who specialised in culinary arts, joined Palacio Nazarenas’ kitchen team in 2015. Leonel is now in charge of executing, and deepening his knowledge of Andean gastronomy and its diverse produce.

Mauka aims to introduce diners to a thoughtful vision of Cusco, where they can immerse themselves in a pleasant dining experience, surrounded by a sensory understanding of place, landscape, and the peoples of the Peruvian Andes.

The restaurant offers an à la carte menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with ingredients sourced from extreme altitudes around lagoons, forests, valleys, and the origins of the Amazon River.

How much does a Tuscany holiday escape cost?

There is no way you can go wrong with a Tuscany getaway, even a short one. From the rolling hills of the idyllic countryside to the medieval fortresses, Renaissance architecture, and world-class art of Florence, this adorable region certainly overindulges all types of travellers, offering them an experience of a lifetime.

Besides being equally famed for its spellbinding coast, as it borders the Tyrrhenian Sea, Tuscany is also a popular part of Italy with a superb wine-making culture and delicious gastronomy. What is even more alluring about this incredibly attractive all-year Mediterranean destination is the fact that it can fit all tastes, requirements, likes, and budgets, as you are about to find out!

Average cost for Tuscany holidays

According to Budget Your Trip website, the average traveller should plan to spend around €152 ($166) daily, which includes €18 ($20) on local transportation (taxis, buses, etc) and €37 ($40) on meals. Regarding accommodation, prices vary significantly, depending on the season, the duration of your stay, and the total number of guests. For example, the average daily hotel price for a couple in Tuscany is €177 ($192), which can go down if you visit Tuscany for more than a week. Or you might want to opt for a luxury villa rental, which can be surprisingly cheap, especially if you are visiting the region with a larger group of friends or family members. In this case, we have found luxury villas at KinglikeConcierge’s collection starting at around 650 euros per night for an elegant mansion that can sleep up to 10 guests.

Of course, services like private transfers and activities like cooking classes and wine-tasting tours will increase the average transportation and dining spending. As for entertainment, the average daily cost (per person) is nearly €25 ($27), including admission fees to attractions, museums, and other sightseeing-related charges.

Needless to say, opting for a semi-private or private experience can increase these daily expenses by two or three times. Finally, tipping (usually around 5-15% of the bill) and alcohol are both costs that result in an extra €23 per day, always depending on how much you consume, of course!

Travelling to Tuscany on a budget

Tuscany has a fascinating duality that charms with both art and architecture-drenched cities, such as Florence, Pisa, and Siena, and lands dotted with scenic villages, vineyards, olive groves, and verdant valleys.

For wine-tasting experiences, the regions of Chianti and Montepulciano are ideal options as well. Budget-conscious travellers can consider booking accommodation in the outskirts of major Tuscany cities, such as the little village of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, which offer cheap hostels, rooms to let, and even rustic farmstays. These often come with perks like a garden with BBQ and easy/affordable access to popular landmarks and local attractions via public transportation, which makes them an ideal base for your Tuscany explorations.

Depending on the selected accommodation option, you might also be provided with breakfast, which is a somewhat rare find in the Tuscany hotels located in more central and populous Tuscany cities. Furthermore, if you look around, chances are you will be pleasantly surprised to discover lovely pizza houses and bars with extremely inviting prices for food and drinks.

Add to all these the numerous hiking and cycling trails snaking through historic villages and the heart-stopping Tuscan landscape that enhance any experience. However, if visiting museums and galleries is an important component of your escape, then you should expect a significant increase in your spending as tickets cost quite a lot in Florence and Pisa.

VIP Tuscany Endeavours for Luxury Travellers

Even the most discerning top-tier luxury-seeking travellers, along with the international jet set and the world’s most rich and famous, admit having found their dreamy match in Tuscany. No wonder, though, as Tuscany can, indeed, provide all the means to satisfy the VIP needs of every type of visitor.

Dining taken to a new dimension

Take dining, for starters. Tuscany’s gastronomy scene is literally unsurpassed, featuring more than 35 Michelin-star (from one to three Michelin star ratings) restaurants offering delicious gourmet dining experiences. Among the top choices are Enoteca Pinchiorri (Florence), Bracali (Chirlanda, Maremma), Caino (Montemerano), Piccolo Principe (Viareggio, Versilia), and Arnolfo (Colle Val D’Elsa, Siena), all renowned for their supreme wine list and mouth-watering cuisine.

Luxury accommodation in Tuscany

Concerning one’s sleeping arrangements, Tuscany is home to some of the finest and most elegant hospitality establishments that provide unmatched luxury and guest satisfaction through various services and facilities. Meeting guests’ needs for utmost privacy, exclusivity, stylish amenities, and comfort, the offered lodging options include anything from posh and chic downtown hotels like JK Place (Florence) and Borgo Santo Pietro (San Galgano) to polished mansions, villas, and rural retreats sitting on the fringes of Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca, and other popular Tuscan destinations.

Besides the long list of offered VIP facilities and amenities, including swimming pool, BBQ, ample dining and seating space, and even amenities like a private lake, spa, and tennis court, they also impress with their extra services, complementary or concierge. From a private chef and personal trainer to baby-sitting and private tours, there is actually no cap when it comes to what you can desire and ask for.. However, if you don’t have the money on hand for this luxury experience, you should check out Cozycozy,  the search engine that allows you to compare the full range of accommodation options from hotels, and vacation rentals to even tree houses and much more.

Boutique shopping in Tuscany

Versilia is a top shopping destination in Tuscany for boutique shoppers and sophisticated, selective patrons. For an exclusive stock of pieces from world-renowned fashion labels, Fiacchini Boutique is an iconic option in Viareggio and Forte dei Marmi. Considered a high-end shopping mecca by both international travellers and wealthy Italians, Forte dei Marmi is also home to several niche boutiques and the widest range of household name fashion labels.

Spa and self-care in Tuscany

Tuscany is adorned with many historic wellness centres, spa towns, and thermal baths, including the voguish Terme di Montecatini complex, which please every need for self-pampering. From hot tub soaks to all sorts of relaxing and rejuvenating massages, expect experiences that dive into centuries-old wellness traditions, accompanied by tasteful and refined Romanesque architecture and healing, Roman-era waters. Basking in luxury is also a venture worth experiencing in popular spots like Saturnia, Bagno Vignoni, and San Casciano dei Bagni, especially if you are after more peaceful and uninterrupted me-time.

No matter the inclination a traveller may have, visiting Tuscany will, rightfully, feel like a dream fulfilment.

Celebrating 30 years Cirque du Soleil

The mere words Cirque du Soleil conjure up exciting imagery. The circus of the sun; there is something exotic and romantic in our imagery of the genre. Artists at the height of their prowess traveling from place to place showcase their extraordinary talent and spectacular skills. Gravity-defying acts bring us drama and narrative – there is always a frisson of danger with any circus show.

Montreal’s Cirque du Soleil captured all this energy and created something remarkable. Much more than a travelling circus with a big top – a cultural phenomenon with worldwide appeal. Combining circus skills and scripting, this is a theatrical performance like no other. Rich with storytelling and plot twists, Cirque du Soleil bring the audience a tantalizing spectacle. They have recently completed a series of sell-out shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall with their steam-punk-inspired Kurios show. Their shows tour the world, and they have an annual season in the landmark London venue every year.

However, it is the shows in Las Vegas that are making the news this year. They celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of their first permanent production Mystère™. In fact, three of Cirque du Soleil’s shows are celebrating significant milestones in 2023. In 1993, founder Guy Laliberté said he wanted his circus troupe to “grow a flower in the desert.” What started as a troupe of street performers in Quebec has consistently produced a selection of stunning hybrid blooms.

The entertainment group will celebrate milestones for its resident Vegas productions. Michael Jackson ONE ™ at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino will be ten in June. O™ at Bellagio Resort and Casino turns twenty-five in October, and Mystère™ at Treasure Island Hotel and Casino will be commemorating 30 years in December. Landmark birthdays do not come much bigger than these—a bouquet of brilliance in Nevada.

There is a year-long celebration underway in Vegas. As part of the celebrations, Cirque du Soleil are offering an all-inclusive VIP trip for two with backstage access to all the shows. This extravaganza of a prize includes first-class travel, limousine transfer and staying at the very best hotels. Unfortunately, you can only enter if you are in Canada or the US.

Although UK residents cannot take place in the Big 30 sweepstakes, they can still try their hand at winning big with Cirque du Soleil. An official Cirque du Soleil slot game called Amaluna is getting excellent ratings in the slot reviews, and critics say the visuals are superb. It even allows you to win a payout of 6,000 times your stake with the Moon Goddess free games feature, which is fitting considering the actual show itself takes place on an island run by goddesses. Whether you win or lose, the game packs mystique and wonder just like the circus itself.

Bobby Baldwin, a former senior executive with Mirage Resorts and MGM Resorts, was instrumental in setting up the deal that initially brought Cirque du Soleil to Las Vegas thirty years ago. The impact of the partnership between the town and the troupe has changed visitor expectations forever. He recently said,

“When we began our partnership with Cirque du Soleil, we had great respect for the creative ambition of Guy Laliberté, Gilles Ste. Croix and Franco Dragone. There was never a question they would create a special entertainment experience, even for Las Vegas, where the bar is quite high. What they did was immediately change the entertainment landscape of the city. And then Cirque du Soleil did it again. And then again. And I don’t doubt they will continue to do so for decades to come. They made history, and it’s gratifying to have been part of that.”

Over 17 million fans have seen Mystère™, and there have been over 11,000 performances in Vegas. While you have to travel to Las Vegas to see that show, Cirque du Soleil tour plenty of other productions. Alegria™ is coming to Europe in the Autumn, and tickets are on sale now.
