Following the release of his brand new project West 1996 Pt. 2, newcomer, Lute, releases another thought provoking visual for his hot track “Still Slummin'”, produced by the legendary J. Dilla. Lute prepares to embark with labelmates J.I.D and Earthgang this November on the “Never Had Sh!t” tour and he continues to treat his fans to new content. Last month, the rapper shared more intimate moments of his life in the Lute: Still Slummin’ Documentary. He may be new to the HipHop scene, but he is making sure that he won’t be unknown for long.

Spotify’s RapCaviar Live is Coming to New York

Spotify has just announced that the popular concert series, RapCaviar, which has just sold out tickets for its Chicago show, will be coming to Hammerstein Ballroom in New York on Tuesday, November 21. RapCaviar’s concert will reunite some of New York’s own – Dipset – with Cam’ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana and Freekey Zekey. A$AP Mob is also set to take the stage along with a number of other surprise performers. TICKETS FOR THE NEW YORK SHOW WILL GO ON SALE FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20 AT 10 AM ET The New York show will be the fourth stop on the 6-city tour that will bring one of Spotify’s most popular playlists to life. RapCaviar has already visited Atlanta and Toronto and has an upcoming show in Chicago on Friday, October 20. Special guests have included Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Baka Not Nice and more. Fela Kuti. Erykah Badu Curated Box Set Out December 15

Post-colonial Nigeria has seen many influential artists, but none who stand out more than Fela Kuti. Even twenty years after his passing, Kuti’s message still possesses a relevance to today, not just in Nigerian society but throughout the world. This week, surrounding Fela Kuti’s birthday, he is remembered by his admirers in a series of Felabrations across Europe, America, Canada, and in places such as Jakarta, Osaka, and Reykjavik. In Nigeria, there is a weeklong celebration to pay homage to Fela Kuti that will be attended by thousands and illustrated by artist varying in skill level from unknown to superstar.

Over the course of his life, Fela Kuti released over 50 albums that are circulated worldwide both physically and digitally. In recent years, the popularity of listening to music through the means of vinyl records has surged, and to keep up with this trend, ardent fans of Kuti have put together a series of deluxe box sets featuring the artist’s music. The fourth installment in this series was curated by, world renowned songstress, Erykah Buda. The set will be released on December 15 via Knitting House Records, and features a variety of Buda’s favorite Fela Kuti songs, including Coffin for Head of State (1989) and Yellow Fever (1976). “Fela Kuti is a fucking genius,” Erykah Buda says, “please listen to these tracks, preferably with a nice blunt… with a nice slow burn.” There are only 3,000 copies of this box set It comes with a poster designed by Nigerian artist, Lemi Ghariokwu, the same artist behind 26 of Fela Kuti’s album covers. The limited edition box set also includes a 20-page booklet featuring seven personal essays written by Erykah Buda seven in-depth commentaries by veteran music journalist and Afrobeat historian, Chris May, along with song lyrics and never-before-seen photographs of Fela Kuti. Machine Gun Kelly x “Merry Go Round”

Rapper Machine Gun Kelly’s third studio album, Bloom, was released this past year and has achieved tremendous success. The lead single off the album, “Bad Things” featuring ex-Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello, quickly became MGK’s highest charting single to date. In the wake of this success, the 27-year-old’s latest release is sure to wow fans as he bring them a creative heartfelt visual for his track “Merry Go Round”.

“Merry Go Round” was originally released on MGK’s second studio album, General Admission. It tells the story of a couple addicted to heroin. The new video depicts the songs story through stunning illustrations by Lauren Dulay. Check out the video on HERE.

NF x “Perception” • No. 1 Album

NF’s third studio album Perception shocks the industry by nabbing the coveted No. 1 debut slot in the Billboard Top 200, but this triumph comes as no surprise to fans. Perception became Capital Music Groups’s fastest-selling D2C pre-order of the year. Released just last week, the album is No. 1 on iTunes Overall Top Albums chart and No. 1 on Amazon Top Rap Albums Chart. His headline show at London’s Camden Assembly sold out within minutes of its announcement.

Fan support has allowed the success of Perception to skyrocket. A single off the album, “Let You Down”, is NF’s biggest single to date, surpassing 19.5 million Spotify streams and 4.8 million YouTube/VEVO views in less than 3 weeks. SHADY RECORDS SIGNS COMPTON-BORN RAPPER BOOGIE TO ITS ROSTER

Hailing from the Westside of Compton, Boogie grew up in the same city that produced a who’s who of rap’s greatest superstars including Dr. Dre, Kendrick Lamar, The Game and YG. Boogie released a series of mixtapes that put the young MC on the map and captured the attention of Interscope Records which then brought interest from Eminem and Shady Records. His second mixtape, The Reach, released in 2015, led Pitchfork to call him “one of the best young rappers in the country” and the LA Times to comment that it features “the kind of vivid, full-fledged production usually reserved for a successful mainstream artist on his or her second or third major-label effort.”

The night began with a demonstration of how the brand uses reverse engineering to produce unique music that perfectly syncs to the workout. After the success of his previous single and video “Always,” Jack Massic returns this fall to give us another taste of his tropically infused house. The song was written by Massic and Milena Berns, who partnered up with the talented vocalist Julia Ross. The track has some Dancehall spice into the mix and the result is a refreshing sound that fits happily into the genre of Pop as much as it does with EDM.

“Let’s Go Away” is not, as you might at first think, a song about traveling. It is a reflection of oneself, of leaving the past behind and looking forward; to be brave and march on bright hopes, keeping your head held high.

On vocal duties for the track is Julia Ross, who aside from being a solo artist herself (her first EP is out now, called True Stories Vol. 1), she has been on the road with Miley Cyrus for the last 7 years, as her back up singer.

About Jack Massic

Miami based Latin Grammy Nominee, Musician, Producer, and Songwriter Jack Massic, began to claim his spot in the electronic music scene in 2016, with the release of his first single GRAVITY. Massic is now well known in the summer music playlists thanks to the success of his single (and video for the song) ALWAYS, that was featured on VEVO, MTV and many other outlets.

Singles like HOLD ME TIGHT, UNCOVER, and ALWAYS will be included in his debut album, to be released in late 2017. The album will offer a blend of Tropical and Deep House elements, with Pop melodies mixed in. For this project, Massic has co-written all the songs, partnering up with many talented songwriters from Miami and Los Angeles.

Prior to entering the electronic music world, Jack Massic was involved in the music industry for more than twelve years as a musician, songwriter and producer, under the name Santiago Hernández. His most recent role was as the drummer and vocalist for the Colombian band Sin Ánimo de Lucro. Among the many accomplishments achieved by this group, were a Latin Grammy Nomination, two certified Gold albums, three #1 hits on the radio charts and a tour with over five hundred shows in seven countries.

He graduated with honors with a “Master in Music and Musical Arrangements”, additionally receiving an honorable mention for his thesis named “The Evolution of Jazz and its Application to Colombian Music.”
