Soulful 16-Year-Old Kicks Off Tour with Dua Lipa on November 20 
16-year-old R&B artist Marteen has dropped another new song – “Two Days,” out now via Warner Bros. Records in association with Lyon Estates. “Two Days,” produced by J.R. Rotem, follows the critically acclaimed breakout single “Sriracha,” as this young artist continues to make waves with his ’90s-influenced Bay Area style. Marteen has announced an additional new song, “We Cool,” set for release next Friday, November 17, just ahead of his North American tour dates as direct support for Dua Lipa. The Bay Area native has been making a name for himself both at home and around the world with his self-described “Modern take on nineties R&B with a little Bay Area edge.” Marteen’s already earned press love from the likes of Billboard, Just Jared, Music Connection, Galore Mag, Hollywood Life, and The New York Times, who praise “Sriracha” as “A post-Lil Yachty melodic piano-rap ditty,” that’s “Absurd like a Lonely Island sketch and aw-shucks tender like MattyB,” as well as Marteen for his ability to be “both in on the joke and also very much not above it.”
In addition to the dates with Dua Lipa, Marteen will perform as part of Red Bull Sound Select Presents: 30 Days in Chicago, opening for Khalid and Amber Mark at the sold-out show on November 29 at The Aragon Ballroom. 17 year old newcomer Baker Grace, releases brand new song “Day I Die” available now via Republic Records HERE. Speaking on the track, Baker Grace states:

YUNGBLUD RELEASES NEW TRACK “TIN PAN BOY”

Yungblud releases his brand-new track “Tin Pan Boy” today via Locomotion / Geffen Records. The song is available HERE. 

The release of the nineteen-year-old, Yorkshire-born artist’s new track comes just days after he unveiled the official video for “I Love You, Will You Marry Me.”

Speaking about the inspiration of the new track, Yungblud says: “I spent most of my childhood on Denmark Street, Soho, London, it’s where I first picked up a guitar. At the moment there is a massive redevelopment going on which will eventually force a lot of independent businesses out of the area – I have a real connection to all the music and art stores and to see people trying to tear out its soul makes me super upset and really pissed off. FUCK THAT! Tin Pan Alley is where the foundations of British rock and roll and the pop music that we know today were built. Everyone from Jagger to Lennon to the Sex Pistols used to hang out there. To sit back and watch the transformation happen without saying something is not an idea that I’m into.” 

“Tin Pan Boy” once again shows off Yungblud’s unique blend of alternative rock: poetry, crunching guitar-hooks and energetic break beats – all brought together with his own fierce determination to make a serious dent in pop culture.

November 6, 2017 NEW YORK, NY – Penning some of the most recognizable, influential, and enduring anthems in the American Songbook, John Mellencamp has just received a 2018 nomination for the Songwriters Hall of Fame® in the “performing songwriters” category.
Eligible members may vote for three “non-performing songwriters” and three “performing songwriters” from now through December 17, 2017. Upon tally of the votes, six songwriters will be inducted during the New York City Gala on June 18, 2018. 

 

This adds to an impressive history of accolades and honors for Mellencamp. His signature plain spoken writing style and unmistakable delivery launched countless classics singles into the Top 10 such as Pink Houses, Jack and Diane, and Small Town.
To date, he has landed a total of 22 Top 40 hits in addition to earning the record for the “most #1 tracks by a solo artist on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks” chart. Among 13 GRAMMY® nominations, he garnered the award for “Best Male Rock Vocal Performance” in 1982. He would be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame® during 2008. Notably, he co-founded Farm Aid in 1985, and it went on to raise over $50 million to support family farms nationwide by 2017. Brass Box presents their video for “Moonlight Desires”

The video was directed by Joey Halter, and plays with old school filming techniques.

“Moonlight Desires” was originally written by Laurence Gowan, a Canadian pop star from the 80s who now fronts the band Styx. The track was released in 1987 under his solo project Gowan. After discovering the music video for the song was filmed onsite at Teotihuacan (Mesoamerican pyramids) in northeast of Mexico City, Brass Box felt the need to record a cover fo the track, as an homage to the native Canadian and the pyramids (especially after Ammo developed a slight obsession with Teotihuacan after visiting in mid-2013).

About Brass Box

With enchanting dream goth/ shoegaze tracks, Brass Box takes listeners on a journey through life, death and the darkness that swells beneath the surface. The inception of this artistic force began with front woman Ammo Bankoff; her obsession with being lost at sea and the intangible as the makeup for her musical expression.

After demoing multiple songs, she contacted her long lost friend Neil Popkin to join her after running into each other at a seedy Echo Park bar. The duo had originally met several years prior at an underground new wave/ goth party in Los Angeles. The bands in which Bankoff played (Tête, Black Flamingo) occasionally shared bills with Popkin’s bands (War Tapes, Rituals). Due to their musical connection both musicians naturally collaborated.

Neil then brought in guitarist Matt Bennett (War Tapes) and drummer Pablo Amador (Rituals), to round out the heavy sounds of Brass Box. Since joining forces the quartet has assembled lush compositions of melody and noise while recording in their Downtown Los Angeles home studio. Some describe the sound as a mix between My Bloody Valentine and Cocteau Twins, but you can decide for yourself.

“Everything Without You” x Temecula Road

NASHVILLE, Tenn. Country trio, Temecula Road, premiered their latest video, “Everything Without You” this morning with One Country. The video, directed by Kyle Cogan, is the perfect accompaniment to the song and features the real-life love story of Lisa and Adam Franco, a retired Marine, who was deployed while Lisa was 5 months pregnant. Between cinematic performance shots of Temecula Road, the couple’s love story is narrated via photos, home videos and personal texts. The band was drawn to the couple’s story and felt the emotion that comes with having a loved one far away, especially for military families, is relatable and had this to say about the video, “‘Everything Without You’ touched us the first time we heard it, so we wanted the video to be very special too. After hearing the Adam and Lisa’s inspiring love story, we felt it was the perfect fit to highlight the sacrifices our troops endure every day to protect our country, and the strength of their loved ones at home patiently awaiting their return.”
The band also announced that they will be releasing a Christmas song, “Let It Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” The trio put their original spin on the holiday classic, featuring their trademark harmonies. “Let It Snow” will be available to purchase HERE and stream HERE on Friday, November 3rd.
