October 21st, 2022 – Today, GRAMMY® Award-winning, global superstar Meghan Trainor has released her anxiously awaited fourth full-length album, Takin’ It Back, via Epic Records. This time around, she made a conscious decision to hark back to the signature sound she introduced on her 2015 full-length debut, TITLE, and bring it forward to today. Listen HERE.

About the album, Meghan said, “I tried to do the doo wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it. This is from the new Meghan who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now. I decided to give the people what they want, but with my spices added to it. I wanted to make my Title 2.0.”

To bring the record to life, she worked closely alongside a “core squad” of Gian Stone, Federico Vindver, Sean Douglas, and her brothers Ryan and Justin Trainor out of her own home studio. The first single released from the album “Bad For Me,” featuring Teddy Swims found the powerhouse tapping into her doo wop roots with throwback harmonies underlining a simmering groove as she opened up lyrically. Her second release, “Don’t I Make It Look Easy” is a track with anthemic energy that resonates for many, especially mothers, who juggle so many things and yet make it look so easy. 

Accompanying the album’s release is a video for Meghan’s new single, “Made You Look.” The spunky track has horns that pipe up as her doo wop harmonies double up the attitude on the chorus, “I could have my Gucci on. I could wear my Louis Vuitton, but even with nothing on, bet I made you look.” The vibrant and stylized music video sees Meghan moving between different colorful worlds – from Hollywood set ups to a  big finale dance performance. Yesterday, Candy Crush Saga exclusively debuted the video in-game for the first time in the game’s 10-year history. From October 20th to 26th, Meghan will be transformed into a “Candified” character for an immersive in-game takeover. Players will be able to swipe along with her, unlocking a variety of special treats and boosters. 

Regarding “Made You Look,” Meghan said, ““After having a baby, I struggled really hard to feel sexy. I actually wrote this song when I was ass-naked singing the chorus in the shower,” she admits. “I can wear all of these gorgeous things, but I look better without all of that shit on. I wrote a self-love anthem for myself. Even though you had a baby, went through it, and your body shows it, you’re still sexy.”

Takin’ It Back integrates doo-wop and classic harmonies into one anthem after another taking you through Meghan’s journey into marriage, motherhood, and achieving a new level of confidence.

Yo Gotti will kick things off on Friday, Oct. 28 with a high-energy Drai’s LIVE performance. One of hip-hop’s most respected and timeless artists, Yo Gotti is the mastermind behind Billboard chart hits “Down in the DM” and “Rake It Up.” His longevity in the music industry has seen him perform alongside fan-favorite artists such as Nicki Minaj, YG and Lil Uzi Vert. 

Drai’s will then host Grammy-nominated and Billboard chart-topping artist, Big Sean, who looks to continue his incredible 2022 run with a performance at Drai’s Nightclub on Saturday, Oct. 29. Big Sean is world-renowned for his poised, charismatic tone and notably smooth delivery on hits like “Mercy” and “Big Bank.” His latest solo album, “Detroit 2,” debuted no. 1 on the Billboard 200, giving Big Sean his third chart-topping album. CLMBR is a vertical exercise machine that works on both the upper and lower body, “…the best kind of primal movements that a person can do,” according to founder Avrum Elmakis, who was on hand to host the event.

CLMBR Fitness celebrated its elaborate grand opening in West Hollywood on Thursday. Chanel West Coast dazzled the crowd on the red carpet with her curvaceous baby body. She wasn’t the only head-turner at this immersive activation. Other notable guests were invited: Luke Rockhold, Dom Fenison, Carter Jenkins, Maximilian Acevedo, Brandon Graves, artist James Goldcrown, Bunnie Barbie, CJ Hammond, Hari Tahov, Jules Liesl, B. Thompson, Nick Pfeifer, Shaka Smith, Nicole Steen, Skinner Jones, Lucas Dell, and Logan Noh.

While Team CLMBR demonstrated cutting-edge technology and equipment, many guests indulged in generous servings of libations and vegan bite-sized Mexican tapas, provided by Sugar Taco. A variety of adult beverages were served: Lobos 1707 Tequila, Nue Vodka, and Henderson Whiskey. Caliwater cactus and PATH water were among the non-alcoholic beverages available.

This workout is a low-impact, total-body routine designed by some of the most prominent members of the entertainment industry. And, obviously, it was fabricated for the affluent, high-powered executives who have little time for anything less than results: Jay Z, LeBron James, Pitbull, Ryan Seacrest, Oliver Trevena, and Novak Djokovic.

This cutting-edge facility, located directly above the once-disheveled Ramada Hotel in Santa Monica, will provide group and one-on-one instruction to the health-conscious consumer. With memberships priced just under $3,000, it’s already in direct competition with rival fitness clubs like SoulCycle and Equinox.

Post-pandemic, those clubhouses have been plagued by poor management, daunting customer service, and dwindling amenities, leaving the market wide open for new entrants.

Swizz Beatz, Timbaland and Triller announced the settlement of their legal dispute over the sale of VERZUZ.

The settlement will increase the ownership stake given to the artists that Timbaland & Swizz Beatz brought to Triller as part of the original deal.

The Top Five European Music Festivals

Summer is prime time for lovers of live music. It’s festival season. It’s the perfect time to be outdoors in the sun, watching your favorite artists take to the stage to deliver one incredible performance after another.

Europe is one of the best places to come for music festivals. There are a plethora of events across the continent, with some of the best gigs in the world taking place here. 

If you’re coming from outside the European Union and Schengen Area for a festival, make sure you get a visa, if necessary, as well as your ticket! If you’re from a visa-free country, just remember your passport. However, in the near future, the ETIAS will become mandatory for visa-exempt travelers. If that includes you, make sure to register online before going to Europe.

Mad Cool Festival

A recent addition to Europe’s roster of music festivals, Mad Cool launched in 2016. It has quickly become one of the biggest and most popular festivals on the continent.

Taking place in the Spanish capital of Madrid, Mad Cool features an eclectic mix of top artists from all genres. The 2022 edition saw Metallica, Florence + the Machine, The Killers, Jamie Cullum, Carly Rae Jepsen, Phoebe Bridgers, Twenty One Pilots, Jack White, and Pixies, among many others, take to the stage.

After a successful 5th anniversary in 2022, Mad Cool looks set to be a mainstay of Spanish summers for years to come. 

It has been described as “Europe’s answer to Coachella” by the Independent and reviews have been very positive. Critics praised the design of the layout, which allows concertgoers to move from stage to stage quickly and easily to catch their favorite acts.

One possible downside is that there is no camping at Mad Cool, so you’ll have to sort out accommodation yourself and make your way to the festival grounds each day.

Tomorrowland

Often described as “the biggest electronic music show on Earth”, Tomorrowland is the party to end all parties. This massive event features a huge lineup of the biggest names in electronic music. 

Tomorrowland takes place in July in the appropriately-named town of Boom in Belgium. The 2022 lineup features such talent as Martin Garrix, Eric Prydz, Armin van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Marshmello, Amelie Lens, Adam Beyer, and NERVO.

One of the unique and interesting features of Tomorrowland are the food areas. Like many festivals, there are many kinds of food on offer, from Indian to Greek to Italian. The big difference is that Tomorrowland 2022 featured a beautiful pavilion close to the Freedom Stage with a waterfall structure pouring from the ceiling.

Primavera Sound

The second Spanish festival to make the list, Primavera Sound is a classic. The legendary Barcelona-based festival offers a wide range of acts to enjoy in the summer sun by the glistening Mediterranean.

The 2022 lineup featured the likes of Massive Attack, The Strokes, Lorde, Dua Lipa, Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Gorillaz, Tyler The Creator, Beck, and many, many more.

Primavera Sound is a must for any music festival lover and Barcelona is the perfect place in which to enjoy it. 

That said, if you like camping in a field, that’s not an option here. The festival takes place in the city, so you’ll have to find accommodation separately.

NOS Alive

NOS Alive is one of Portugal’s biggest music festivals, and it’s not hard to see why! The Lisbon-based event has been picking consistently great lineups since it started back in 2007, and the Portuguese capital is a wonderfully vibrant city to host it.

You can expect an eclectic mixture of up-and-coming artists, current hit-makers, and all-time classic acts during this epic weekend in July.

2022 saw Imagine Dragons, Metallica, The Strokes, Da Weasel, Faith No More, Phoebe Bridgers, Royal Blood, Caribou, and many more names grace the Portuguese stage.

Glastonbury

Not just one of the biggest festivals in Europe, but one of the biggest on Earth. Glastonbury is the UK’s mecca of music; the pinnacle of Britain’s festival calendar. Brexit aside, you can’t make a list of Europe’s top 5 festivals without including Glastonbury!

The huge roster of acts feature some of the best in the world. 2022’s festival included everyone from Paul McCartney to Billie Eilish; from the Pet Shop Boys to Lorde. Kendrick Lamar, Robert Plant, Diana Ross, Elbow, Foals, Olivia Rodrigo, Fontaines D.C., and Primal Scream were among the many other names on the bill.

The only thing to watch out for is the weather. Glastonbury may be in the middle of June, but England is notorious unreliable for good weather and many past editions of the festival have been known for becoming mud baths due to the rain. Pack boots and wet weather gear just in case!

Louis Vuitton Spring-Summer 2023 Spin-Off

Fresh off the runway in the Gobi Desert, Louis Vuitton enamored the world with their theatrical and inventive athleisure, resulting in 278 million streams.

For the Spring-Summer Men’s 2023 Spin-Off show in Aranya, China, the Maison expanded on the idea of the magnified playground first introduced in Paris in June. In a collaborative effort between Chinese directors Jia Zhangke and Wei Shujun, the cinematic show portrayed themes of childhood, discovery and community.

The story took its audiences to Aranya beach, a relic of the Ancient Silk Road, where the live show unfolded in a vast sandscape, representing the infinite possibilities of craftsmanship. Live-scored by the Beijing-based instrumental band Sleeping Dogs, the show featured a performance choreographed by dancer Hou Ying.

‘Collection ∞’ Aranya, September 2022: 

Aranya

There are as many grains of sand on our planet as there are stars in the galaxy. Yet in the eyes of a child, the vastness of sand never poses an impossibility. It invites opportunity. In the sandbox and on the beach, children instinctively build sandcastles: constructs of the imagination that turn dreams into reality. For the Spring-Summer 2023 Spin-Off show in Aranya – designed by the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme – the Maison expands on the idea of the magnified playground first introduced in Paris in June. A cinematic prelude titled Mirage created in a collaborative effort between Chinese directors Jia Zhangke (producer of the prelude) and Wei Shujun (director of the prelude) – who also serve as directors of the show itself – portrays themes of childhood, discovery and community. Shot in the city of Dunhuang, on the edge of the Gobi Desert – once a frontier garrison on the Silk Road – the film stages a contemporary meeting between East and West reflected in the poetry of history. The story takes its audiences to Aranya beach where the live show unfolds in a sandscape moulded with the tools at the root of a collection founded in the infinite possibilities of craftsmanship. Live-scored by the Beijing-based instrumental band Sleeping Dogs, the show features a performance choreographed by the Chinese dancer Hou Ying.

Imagination is at the heart of Louis Vuitton. A visual manifestation of our hopes and ideas, it has the power to heal, regenerate and uplift us. The Spring-Summer 2023 Men’s Collection was conceived and created by the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme: an ever-evolving ecosystem of creative minds, who welcomed Virgil Abloh to the Maison in 2018 and expanded during his eight seasons of artistic direction. A living testament to his talent for bringing people together, they populate a creative playground more than a century in the making. At the timeless core of the Louis Vuitton studio is the belief that imagination – creatorship, craftsmanship, showmanship – can move and unite its spectators around the world. It’s the heritage on which Virgil Abloh based his practice at the Maison and the philosophy that continues to drive the Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme. As a creative community who shared a monumental experience, they embrace the Spring-Summer 2023 Men’s Collection as a cathartic process: a proposal created in the spirit of all the human minds that shape Louis Vuitton.

Magnified playground

Toys are tools for the imagination. The playthings we are given early in life become building blocks for dreams and aspirations. In the Carré du Louvre in June 2022, the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme imagined a magnified playground. Here, a giant children’s toy racetrack became a Yellow-Brick Road for the imagination: an evolutionary path for the mind where childlike fantasies come to life. It’s a transition from naïve to refined reflected in a collection that elevates the symbols of childhood through the savoir-faire of the Maison. The premise cuts a silhouette drawn from swoopy lines, which plays with shrunken and oversized dimensions founded in the idea of a wardrobe grown-into or outgrown, with rootsy nods to the 1990s dress code of the skater community. Iconography native to the playground adorns garments and accessories: origami paper planes, building block beading, playdough textures and tones, cartoon prints, and sandbox tool embellishments. Evoked within the pieces is an under-construction sensibility inherent to the toys found in a playground and to the process of growing.

Parade for the mind

Pageantry courses through the veins of Louis Vuitton. Over time, the custodians of the Maison have employed displays of wonderment to inspire unifying feelings of joy in its diverse audiences around the globe. On the magnified toy racetrack of the Spring-Summer 2023 Men’s Show in Paris in June, a parade of childhood dreams unfolded led by The Marching 100, the Tallahassee-based marching band of the Florida A&M University formed in 1946. Flags filled the space – their motifs reflective of the Louis Vuitton codes and values – as a representation of global communities created beyond borders and diversities. Elated by music, the soundtrack of the parade fused with the clothes themselves: two SpeakerMan looks integrated a number of wireless loudspeakers into backpacks, which connected to the show’s sound system. The constructions portrayed the togetherness of sound and the harmonious properties of speaker culture, while echoing the shared appreciation for loud music that exists within the Louis Vuitton Studio Prêt-à-Porter Homme – where every corner is occupied by a speaker.

French romanticism

A quintessential component in the genetics of Louis Vuitton, French romanticism fills the collection. Flower fields – the eternal image of harmony in diversity – grace garments through impressionist paintings transformed into tapestries and prints, while depictions of thistles appear in multiple fabric weaves, prints and embroideries. A symbol of resilience and healing folklorically used to overcome difficult situations, the prickly flower motifs also nod to the decor of Louis Vuitton’s ancestral home in Asnières where thistles often appear in bouquets. The delicate floral paintings found in the ceilings of the same residence echo the cornices that define the palatial interiors of Parisian architecture. A manifestation of our childhood dreams – fairy tales, majesty, whimsy – these moulures ornament moulded leather tailoring and bags, and feature in delicate lace garments. As a tribute to Paris, a photo montage collaging elements from the city and the Maison – the Pont Neuf, the Damier pattern, the cornices of interiors – runs through the collection.

Arts and crafts

The impulse to turn imagination into creation begins with the instruments of our childhood: toys, building blocks and the tools of the sandbox. As we grow and refine, so do the devices that bring our ideas to life. Through the savoir-faire integral to Louis Vuitton, the collection reflects on this transition in figurative and literal ways. Children’s building blocks and playdough elements adorn garments and accessories, while toolbox components – such as scissors, tweezers and clamps – embellish garments as three-dimensional embroidered pendants. The motifs celebrate the expert ateliers of the Maison, and serve as symbols of the painstaking savoir-faire that makes up the collection, from the development of fabrics to hand-embroideries, hand-beading, hand-crocheting, Shiburi tie-dye, and intricate leather moulding, as well as technological ingenuity like static electricity fabrics and SpeakerMan backpacks composed of genuine and 3D-printed loudspeakers.
