All the Kids are Depressed

Today, multi-talented singer, songwriter and producer, Jeremy Zucker, debuts the powerful short film for his single, “all the kids are depressed”—watch and share here. Directed by filmmaker Drew Kirsch (Felix Jaehn, blackbear, Louis the Child, Quinn XCII), the video premieres today on Buzzfeed.

Of the video, Zucker says, “For people watching this video, I hope that they feel comfort. That they’re not alone. That it’s important to talk about mental illness. That confronting the way they’re feeling and exchanging experiences can make things better, even if it’s just for a moment.”

“all the kids are depressed” is taken from Zucker’s latest EP, glisten, out now. The EP also features his single, “better off” with rising artist Chelsea Cutler. See the full tracklist below.

Before entrancing listeners across the world, 21-year-old singer, songwriter and producer Jeremy Zucker had been quietly carving out his distinct sound from a bedroom in suburban New Jersey. A self-described “social introvert,” Zucker cites Jon Bellion, blackbear, EDEN, Bon Iver and Wet among his strongest influences. In the summer of 2015, Zucker released his first official EP titled Beach Island. The project saw a small amount of success, and from there Zucker steadily began to build a dedicated fan base.

Later that year, he released a stream of singles that would eventually be packaged together as an EP titled Breathe. The project’s breakout single “Bout It” quickly garnered millions of streams as it organically spread across Soundcloud and Spotify, drawing the attention of curators and fans across the world. In 2016, Zucker released his third EP, Motions, which features “Heavy,” a song that was later remixed by the recording artist blackbear who reached out to Jeremy after stumbling across his music on Soundcloud. The remix, “Make Daddy Proud,” was released on blackbear’s latest LP Digital Druglord. In 2017, Zucker was signed with Republic Records and released his third EP, idle. The EP features his breakout hit, “talk is overrated(feat. blackbear), which has over 15 million Spotify streams to date. Further music is set for release this spring.

Bastille’s New Single

Bastille’s new single, is an escapist anthem with breakbeats and drum & feels loosely inspired by 90’s dance music plus a euphoric hook that is an unmistakable signature of the UK band. The song, which is the lead single from the band’s forthcoming third album, is available for download / streaming HERE. View the visualizer HERE.

We keep on running, running through a red light, like we’re trying to burn the night away, sings frontman Dan Smith on the songߣs vivid, cinematic chorus. He explains, Quarter Past Midnight is about trying to capture that moment of a night out. Some people are gonna go home; for some this is just the beginning. It became about being in someone’s car, driving through the city. I wanted to try and capture that sense of excitement, and that rush.

Recorded and self-produced in the bandߣs newly built studio, an old porn studio that we turned into a place that could be ours, which also houses Smith’s record label Best Laid Plans (Rag N’Bone Man, Rationale), the song’s nocturnal setting evokes the infinite possibilities that darkness brings.

It’s way easier to escape in the night time, says Smith. Places that arenߣt normally open are open to the world, and the places that you associate with reality and work are all shut down. Thereߣs a parallel universe that exists, and this other set of people who are out and about.

The five months Bastille spent in London recording new music was the longest theyߣve stayed in one place since releasing their RIAA certified Platinum debut album, Bad Blood, five years ago. The four-piece ߝ comprising frontman Smith (who is the sole songwriter and co-produces all the tracks alongside Mark Crew), keyboardist Kyle Simmons, bassist/guitarist Will Farquarson and drummer Chris Wood ߝ has played over 500 shows across six continents, including their recent, critically acclaimed ReOrchestrated tour, which London’s Evening Standard praised as brave, brilliant and a bit bonkersߪthe sound of a band breaking down barriers and pushing out of their comfort zone.

Introduced stateside in 2013 with the single Pompeii, which is now 6x Platinum, Bastille has had five Top 5 hits at Alternative radio. Globally, the band has sold upwards of 15 million adjusted singles and six million adjusted albums. Hailed by Rolling Stone as Brit pop’s new crown princes, the band now has more than three billion streams across all platforms. Since winning British Breakthrough Act at the BRITs, Bastille earned GRAMMY, AMA and MTV Europe Awards nominations. The band’s World Gone Mad was the lead single from the soundtrack for the 2017 Netflix film Bright. Starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton, the film is one of the site’s most streamed programs ever. The official video for World Gone Mad has more than 10 million views.

It was only in stopping to take a breath that Smith was able to reflect on Bastilleߣs journey. Our first album was pieced together over a period of time, and then we never stopped to make our second record, we just carried on going, Smith recalls. So it was really unusual and awesome to stop, properly focus on one thing and live a life in London for a while.

‘That Feeling When’

Critically acclaimed Norwegian pop art-songstress Dagny is back with her brand new single “That Feeling When” today.

Get it HERE via Republic Records and check out the video HERE!

Underscored by buzzing electronics and dancefloor-ready energy, the track slips from hypnotic verses into a seismic refrain that’s impossible to shake. In addition, the official video for “That Feeling When” is Dagny’s most personal video to date as it was shot in Dagny’s hometown of Troms and the live performance footage was taken from a special performance in Oslo. The video premiered with Billboard.com who called it “beautiful & breathtaking.” Check out the premiere here.

On the new song Dagny said That Feeling When’ is my first single in 2018. The song shows another side of me as an artist, with a more melancholic, epic and atmospheric sound. It was written on an early autumn day in the studio, on my favorite instruments, the Omni chord. The inspiration for the song came from the hashtag #ThatFeelingWhen, and was written from my personal histories of not only falling in love, but also sorrow. It will be the first of two singles that will be released before the summer, and I hope that ´That Feeling When´ can create a different feeling for the listeners than my previous songs.”

In tandem with the song’s release, she hit the road on a short sold out North American tour. It kicked off April 22 in Toronto, Ontario at Adelaide Hall and rolls through select major markets before closing out May 4 at Popscene in San Francisco, CA.

Check out the full itinerary below!

With a singular sound, style, and spirit, Dagny is quietly ascending to the forefront of pop just under the radar. She recently guested on Seeb’s new track “Drink About” which has gone viral with nearly 14 million streams worldwide and hit Top 5 on Spotify charts in Scandinavia. Check out “Drink About” here!

2017 saw Dagny star in a high-profile Target campaign covering Andrea True’s 70’s Classic “More More, More” in addition to supporting LANY on tour in between her own tour dates. Last year, VEVO also touted her among its “Ones to Watch” as the single “Wearing Nothing” surpassed over 13 million Spotify streams.

Post a high-profile Beats 1 premiere by tastemaker Zane Lowe, 2016’s “Backbeat” transformed into a veritable smash, racking up a staggering nearly 33 million Spotify streams as Apple, Spotify, and Tidal pegged her as an “Artist To Watch” and Interview Magazine, NME, Nylon, Forbes, and more lauded her. She teamed up with BØRNS for “Fool’s Good,” which hit nearly 10 million streams and highlighted her Ultraviolet EP [Republic Records].
