ABOUT ARIANA GRANDE
With her powerful vocals and astonishing range, Ariana Grande has emerged as one of the most magnetic and massively successful performers in pop music today. At age 24 she’s delivered three platinum-selling albums and surpassed 18 billion streams, in addition to nabbing four Grammy Award nominations and landing eight hits in the Top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. With 2016’s critically acclaimed Dangerous Woman, Grande both boldly defies expectation and reveals the full force of her voice (recently hailed as an “extraordinary, versatile, limitless instrument” upon Grande’s appearance on Time’s “100 Most Influential People” list).

Since making her full-length debut with 2013’s Yours Truly (featuring the game-changing, triple-platinum smash “The Way”), Grande has brought her striking vocal presence to a genre-blurring breed of pop, taking on R&B, soul, and electronic music with equal nuance and assurance. Arriving in 2014, her sophomore effort, My Everything, garnered a Grammy Award nomination for Best Pop Vocal Album and spawned the 6x-platinum hits “Problem” and “Bang Bang” (a Grammy nominee for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance). Grande embraced a more uncompromising vision than ever before in the making of Dangerous Woman. With People noting that the album “celebrates feminine might,” Entertainment Weekly praised Grande for “having something meaningful to say with that jaw-dropping voice — one of the most exquisite in pop today.” Grande wrapped up her widely lauded Dangerous Woman Tour in support of the album last year, performing 85 arena shows worldwide.

Through the years, the longtime actress and former Broadway star has proven the scope of her talent by appearing on Scream Queens and Hairspray Live! and showcased her comedic chops by hosting Saturday Night Live. With her social media following now surging past 200 million, Grande has also earned numerous accolades from the MTV Video Music Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and American Music Awards (including the highly coveted Artist of the Year prize).

Ariana’s recent single “No Tears Left To Cry” debuted at #1 on iTunes in 88 countries worldwide and began the next era for her upcoming fourth full length studio album Sweetener. With the release of “Not Tears Left To Cry” she became the first artist in music history to see the lead single from her first four albums debut on the Top 10 on Billboard Hot 100. This year she has graced the prestigious magazine covers of TIME’s Next Generation Leaders, FADER, and British Vogue. The highly anticipated album, Sweetener, will be released Summer 2018.

Kailee Morgue US Tour With Poppy

Today Kailee Morgue announces she will be heading on a U.S. fall tour with Poppy for her Am I A Girl? Tour. Artist pre-sale tickets go on sale Wednesday, July 11th at 10am local timeand general on-sale begins Friday, July 13th at 10am local time at www.kaileemorgue.com.

Having just sold out her debut headline shows in New York and Los Angeles, Morgue jumps to theaters by joining Poppy’s fall twenty-date run through North America, including top cities Los Angeles (The Wiltern on October 31st), New York (Irving Plaza on November 20th) and Washington D.C. (9:30 Club on November 24th).

Recently Morgue released “Do You Feel This Way (Feat. Whethan). Check out the track here!

Of the song, Morgue says, “This is one of my favorite songs I’ve made because it is off axis just enough to blur my perspective between haunting and inviting. Teaming up with Whethan brought the perfect blend of hazy lethargy and upbeat skepticism to the track. It captures the unease of that feeling of not knowing how someone truly feels about you, and it still always makes me want to move when I hear it—it’s so fun to perform.”

“Do You Feel This Way” (feat. Whethan) follows Morgue’s single “F**k U”and her 2017 breakout track, “Medusa,” which catapulted her into an overnight success after she posted a live performance of the song on Twitter. “Medusa” became the title track from her debut EP, which was also released last fall and features her hit single, “Discovery.”

Tattooed, multi-color haired and anime-obsessed 19-year-old Phoenix-based gothic pop siren, Kailee Morgue, casts a sonic spell with her music. A self-described “introvert” and the second oldest of six kids, she found solace in the sounds of fellow sonic sorceresses, such as Stevie Nicks and Gwen Stefani, as well as bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and more. By the age of ten, she picked up her first guitar, began quietly penning music and eventually started posting tracks on Soundcloud.

Between a gig at Jack In The Box in 2016, an 18-year-old Morgue found the beat for her breakout track, “Medusa,” on YouTube and cooked up the single. She first teased the track with a brief Twitter video, and it ignited a viral reaction garnering 100,000 “likes” overnight. Over an airy, minimalistic soundscape, Morgue creates a hypnotic and heartfelt melody with haunting and powerful lyrics. “Medusa” peaked at #1 on Hype Machine, was hailed as “Best Track of the Week” by The New York Times, MTV, The Line of Best Fit and Coup de Main and its video premiered on The FADER. As “Medusa” became an underground phenomenon, Morgue inked a deal with Republic Records in the summer of 2017. Further music is set for release this summer.

HER releases video for ‘Icarus’

Today, Her returns with the video for their latest single, “Icarus”—watch here. The song was written by frontman Victor Solf in memory of his best friend and co-founder of Her, Simon Carpentier. The video was directed by French film director Rodrigue Huart for Studio+, and it features various symbols from past Her videos, “Queens,” “SWIM,” and “Blossom Roses,” which represent renewal, hope and melancholy.

Of the song, Solf says, “‘Icarus’ is a song that I wrote in memory of Simon, and it explains why I am continuing now. This video is very special to me because it tells the whole story of Her in one video. Core fans will be able to recognize several symbols from our past videos.”

“Icarus” is taken from Her’s critically-acclaimed, self-titled debut album released earlier this year—listen here. The debut album also features Her’s hit tracks, “We Choose,” “Neighborhood” and “On & On” (feat. AnnenMayKantereit & Roméo Elvis).

While still in school, the half-German Victor Solf and the French Simon Carpentier met in 2007, bonded like long lost brothers, started making music together equally informed by old school soul a la Otis Redding and post-Yeezus hip-hop and formed Her in 2015. Success followed as the breakout “Five Minutes” soundtracked Apple’s “Shot on iPhone” campaign and eventually generated over 8 million Spotify streams. The duo released a pair of EPs Her Tape #1 and Her Tape #2, spawning fan favorites such as “Quite Like,” “Union,” “Her” and amassing over 20 million cumulative Spotify streams. Merging artfully seductive and provocative visuals and dreamy newer wave pop with a jazz undercurrent, the boys crisscrossed the globe in support of the EPs, including making waves stateside. In the middle of it all, unbeknownst to anyone but those closest to him, Simon lost a long, quiet and arduous battle with cancer in August 2017. With his friend’s spirit always close by, Victor worked on what would become the duo’s 2018 major label full-length debut, Her [Republic Records].

Exhibition Presents June 15 through June 30, 2018

Award-winning fashion, celebrity photographer and director Markus Klinko is pleased to present “2000s”, an exclusive exhibition featuring the decade’s most iconic photographic images. The gallery has partnered with FujiFilm and will host several in-gallery artist appearances: Saturday, June 16th from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Saturday June 23rd from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm and Saturday June 30th, 2018 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Mouche Gallery 340 N Beverly Dr., Beverly Hills, CA 90210.

For me, this collection goes beyond celebrity photography and more so defines a greater cultural connection. The early 2000’s was a very influential time of fashion, music, and entertainment that we are seeing resurface today. Being able to capture it photographically gives us a window into our past and it how it has helped form our future.” – Markus Klinko

Klinko and his subjects

Throughout the years, Markus Klinko has become one of the most recognizable celebrity photographers across the globe. For his upcoming exhibition, “2000s”, Mouche Gallery has assembled a collection of famous images from his archives. The collection depicts a variety of pop culture milestones that have truly defined the decade of the early 2000’s. Highlighted works include: Beyonce’s Dangerously in Love album cover; a series of Mary J. Blige album covers documenting her meteoric rise to superstardom; and images from Klinko’s wildly successful David Bowie Unseen international exhibition. With these works and more to see, Klinko can be credited for capturing some of the most legendary moments in each of his subject’s careers.

David Bowie “Heathen” Album Cover (2002) by Markus Klinko Ó All Rights Reserved 2018

Klinko’s works were recently displayed in a New York Subway station with a large-scale photographic installation and interactive displays celebrating the late, great David Bowie. The installation was unveiled earlier this month and runs until May 13. It coincides with the opening of Bowie Is – an exhibition celebrating the musician’s contribution to popular culture – at the Brooklyn Museum.

The centerpiece of the takeover was an installation that stretched across 30 metal ‘L beams’ and was seen at either end of the station from steps leading down to the platform. It features black-and-white photographs of Bowie as the Thin White Duke – a persona he adopted in the mid- 1970s and taken by Masayoshi Sukita and Markus Klinko.

INSTALLATION NYC SUBWAY 2018

As David Bowie’s and Iman’s photographer for over 15 years, Klinko’s client list reads as a who’s who of Hollywood royalty. Other notable pop culture icons that will be featured in the exhibit include: Jennifer Lopez, Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Kim Kardashian, Naomi Campbell, Kelis, Pharrell Williams, Kanye West and more.

“Mouche Gallery in Beverly Hills is honored to present this exhibition in collaboration with FUJIFILM North America Corporation, and is thrilled to add Markus Klinko to its prestigious roster of internationally acclaimed photographers. We look forward to continuing the tradition of featuring museum quality art and photographs at the forefront of culture.” – Keiko Noah, Gallerist & Principal: Mouche Gallery

Made possible by FUJIFILM North America Corporation, “2000s” will feature a rare retrospective collection of select cameras and lenses used by Klinko to photograph these images and will be installed at Mouche Gallery. As one of the earliest adopters of digital post-production, Klinko pioneered a style that widely influenced trends in current fashion and celebrity photography. Klinko credits his usage of the FUJIFILM GX680III, a 6x8cm medium format system, in conjunction with FUJICHROME PROVIA 100F for the vibrant palette and exceptionally high resolution of his work. In 2001, Klinko also started shooting with the FUJIFILM FinePix S1 Pro, the early predecessor of the current line of the FUJIFILM X Series and GFX system. A previously unseen series of new images, taken in 2018 with the FUJIFILM GFX medium format mirrorless system, will be unveiled on June 14th, featuring re-emerging signature ’00s staples, connecting his works from past and present. All of Klinko’s works to be featured in “2000’s” were created with FUJIFILM cameras and/or film products.

Given the exhibition’s fashion and celebrity culture focus, thirteen of Klinko’s most celebrated images will be sold via Paddle8 (http://www.paddle8.com/auction/cfda) to benefit the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Foundation to help support its programs dedicated to fashion education and professional development. Born in Switzerland of French, Italian, Jewish, and Hungarian descent, Klinko spent his early years training to become a classical harp soloist. He studied at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique in Paris. Later, Klinko signed an exclusive recording contract with EMI Classics, as well as a management contract with Columbia Artists Management.
