“TJ Porter is leading Harlem into the future.”

“He cuts through beats with ease & takes an approach that most artist don’t.”

“His rhymes, deft and sharp with Harlem’s natural proclivity for quick wit and bucket drummer cadences, are leavened by a singsong delivery that sounds modern, but anchored in a traditionalist’s slickness.”

ABOUT TJ PORTER:

You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take…but TJ Porter is shooting to win. The Harlem native is taking his prowess from the basketball court—hunger, drive and hard work—into hip-hop. “This is a mental game,” he says. “I want to be the best.”

Raised in the Robert F. Wagner Housing Projects, the 18-year-old (born Terrence Reaves) grew up on Nas, The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. “My uncle would say, ‘I want y’all to listen to this and by the end of the day, tell me what the songs mean.’” Mature for his age, he began rapping at eight and made his first song at 12. “As a kid, I was always chilling with the older guys in the hood. I would always be rapping.” His natural athleticism led him to want to pursue basketball professionally. For several years, music took a back seat to his hoop dreams.

In 2016, TJ’s career—and life—hit a turning point when his best friend, Chico, was fatally shot in a gang-related incident. He questioned his life in the streets and admits, that he was filled with anger. “I ain’t gonna lie. It changed my life.” Through tragedy sprung hope. He took on “We gon’ ball,” the mantra of his slain friend, and the moniker “TJ Porter,” a nod to the debonair Rich Porter from Paid in Full, and set his eyes on rap as the prize.

With the forthcoming Voice of The Trenches, TJ Porter is ready to tell his story. Autobiographical, he hopes to showcase the many facets of New York City—good and bad. He’s slated to hit the road later this year and release a trilogy of projects leading into NBA All -Star Weekend 2019. More than anything, TJ hopes that his success can serve as a motivation, especially to other young people. “I’mma give you the trenches,” he says. “But these are the opportunities you can get.”

Mark Diamond “Road”

Today, Seattle-based singer and songwriter Mark Diamond releases his new single “Road” via Stardog Records/Republic Records.

 Listen to “Road” HERE!

“Road” exclusively premiered on Billboard, who hailed it as “a synth-pop tune that sees the singer’s raspy vocals paired with a mid-tempo beat, inducing listeners to sway to the rhythm.” It arrives hot on the heels of the fan favorite “Steady.” Upon release, the single attracted critical praise with Variance describing it as “such a gem.” Not to mention he has amassed over 1.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and counting.

On the song Mark noted: “‘Road’ was one that just needed to come out. The day before it was written, we decided to call it an early night at the studio and left 11pm. I tried to go meet up with friends but was having a hard time switching back to “reality” after spending so much time in the studio. I went into the studio the next day slightly on edge, so I laid on the ground behind the board and wrote this song. Immediately I felt better — like I had just explained to myself that this is my life now. I needed to realize that it was my choice, and it’s absolutely beautiful to live this way. Hope is important to me these days. I think the world could always use more of it.”

At 25 years old, Mark Diamond is a Seattle native who grew up listening to Tom Petty, Hootie & The Blowfish, The Beatles, R.E.M and Robbie Williams with his dad in his 1969 Chevy Malibu. Up until recently, Mark, now based in Los Angeles, was living in Seattle and working at a coffee shop for the last four years. He has been hard at work on his upcoming project with his debut song, “Steady,” leading the way. The song is included in a very large arsenal of finished tracks that he completed in 24 days with talented writer and producer Richard Craker, writing and recording in both London and Los Angeles. With his music, Mark wants to make people feel every emotion possible. “I have never had more fun making music in my entire life. Music should make people feel good more than it makes them feel bad. Not necessarily ‘happy’ songs, but songs that make you feel better about life than when you started listening to it.”

Sachi Releases “Worst Behaviour”

Electronic duo, SACHI hailing from New Zealand, return with new electro pop punch “Worst Behaviour” featuring Sam DeRosa available today via Casablanca Records.  Listen HERE.

Following two certified-gold singles, and collaborations with Mick Jenkins and E^ST, powerhouse production pair SACHI ride into the new year with festival ready, inhibition free single “Worst Behaviour.” The edgy EDM execution of Will Thomas and Nick Chrisp flirts with sugar coated pop on the new single, where the 20 year old Kiwi electronic duo link up with rising NYC pop singer Sam DeRosa to create a nightlife rebellion anthem.

“Worst Behaviour” conveys an unruly relationship where one half is captivated by their partner while the other can’t be tied down, with a craving for the nightlife’s chaotic charm. “ ‘Worst Behaviour’ is about a lopsided relationship where one half is playing games while the other is smitten,” Nick explained. “It came together super quick because it was something we all related to and thought others could too.”
