Kate Tempest x Late Night with Seth Meyers

British spoken word artist, rapper, poet, novelist and playwright Kate Tempest debuted a fiery and passionate performance of her track “Firesmoke” from her new album The Book Of Traps & Lessons on Late Night with Seth Meyers last night—watch it HERE!

The performance comes on the heels of a slew of headline shows and festival performances around the world in celebration of her third studio album. U.S. fans can catch Tempest on her headlining tour this fall—kicking off
on September 24th at Los Angeles’ Teragram Ballroom, she will be making stops in New York, San Francisco, Portland and Seattle. Tickets are on sale now at http://www.katetempest.co.uk/.

Kate Tempest will also appear on episode three of Rick Rubin’s and Showtime Documentary Films’ new docu-series, SHANGRI-LA, which airs next Friday, July 26th on Showtime. The four-part docu-series is a collaboration from Academy Award® and Emmy® winner Morgan Neville (Won’t You Be My Neighbor, 20 Feet From Stardom), legendary music producer Rick Rubin and director Jeff Malmberg (Marwencol) and focuses on creative conversation and the emotional side of music-making.

The Book Of Traps & Lessons
was crafted with Rubin and Carey over the course of the past five years. It follows Tempest’s previous releases, 2014’s Everybody Down and 2016’s Let Them Eat Chaos, both of which were shortlisted for Mercury Prize in 2014 and 2017, respectively. Last year, Kate Tempest was nominated at The BRIT Awards for Best Female Solo Performer.

A handful of words often tell you everything you need to know. When asked, who is
Kate Tempest? She gives a brief, albeit telling answer. “Kate Tempest is the words,” she responds. You haven’t ever seen, heard, or experienced anyone quite like her. Tempest uncovers the missing link between the Golden Ages of literature and hip-hop. The London-born BRIT Award-nominated spoken word artist, rapper, poet, novelist, and playwright rhymes with a century-turning fury. Since her emergence in 2011, she has redefined what it means to be a wordsmith in the Modern Age. To date, she has published three poetry collections, staged three plays, and released two studio albums. Along the way, she entranced audiences on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, NPR’s “Tiny Desk,” and more. Not to mention, she garnered widespread critical acclaim from The New York Times, The New Yorker, Forbes, and more, to name a few. In the midst of this whirlwind journey, she performed a passage of her popular 75-minute narrative poem, Brand New Ancients, on Charlie Rose. Legendary producer and American Recordings Founder Rick Rubin caught the show, tracked down her phone number, and made a call. This set a series of events in motion that led to her 2019 debut album for American Recordings, The Book Of Traps & Lessons, out now.

Volbeat “Cheapside Sloggers” Music Video

Multi-platinum Danish rock band Volbeat have just debuted the music video for their new song “Cheapside Sloggers,” featuring a guest guitar solo by Gary Holt of Exodus and Slayer. The track comes from their forthcoming seventh album Rewind, Replay, Rebound, out August 2nd via Republic Records.

“I wanted to add something new and not typical, so why not bring in
Gary Holt? He is a great guitar player, and the solo sounds great,” says singer and vocalist Michael Poulsen.

The video was directed by Shan Dan Horan of Shadow Born Group, who has previously created many lyric videos for the band, including “Parasite,” “The Devil’s Bleeding Crown,” “For Evigt,” “The Bliss,” “Black Rose,” and “Seal The Deal” from
Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. Watch the video for “Cheapside Sloggers (feat. Gary Holt)” here.

Recently the band shared the music video for the song “
Last Day Under The Sun,” which has quickly entered the top 5 at Rock Radio. Watch the video for “Last Day Under The Sun” here.

Volbeat will release their seventh studio album Rewind, Replay, Rebound on August 2nd via Republic Records. For the album, Volbeat Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Rob Caggiano (guitars), Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass), and Jon Larsen (drums) —build upon the distinct, psychobilly, punk-tinged rock ‘n’ roll sound they are known for, while reaching for new creative summits. “The whole point for us going into the studio, is because you still have something to prove — not just for the fans, but mostly for yourself,” says Poulsen. “We would not be able to do this record if it wasn’t for the work we have done in the past. No matter how old the band gets or how many records we do, there is always going to be that signature sound.” Rewind, Replay, Rebound is available for pre-order on all formats here, including a 2 CD deluxe edition, a special deluxe edition box set, and transparent and blue colored vinyl, numbered and limited to 1,000 copies each.

At this point in their already storied career, Volbeat have opened for Metallica, Motorhead and Slipknot, garnered a 2014 Best Metal Performance Grammy nomination for “Room 24” and won multiple Danish Music Awards. For this album, they mine their own personal histories and that of their genre. The song “When We Were Kids” finds Volbeat ruminating on immortality and innocence we all naively experience in our youth, while “Rewind the Exit” and “Die to Live” both explore how the pursuit of perfection can be a hollow goal.

Rewind, Replay, Rebound was produced by long-time collaborator Jacob Hansen and co-produced by Rob Caggiano and Michael Poulsen. This marks the first studio album with Kaspar Boye Larsen on bass. To achieve the album’s sound the band also drew upon a myriad of guests including backing vocalist Mia Maja and the Harlem Gospel Choir, who both return after appearing on 2016’s Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie. Clutch vocalist Neil Fallon is featured on “Die to Live,” a collaboration that is the result of the bands touring together and a love for the singer’s gruff and powerful style. Raynier Jacob Jacildo (piano) and Doug Corocran (saxophone) of JD McPherson’s band also lend their talents to the song. Ultimately, Volbeat have not lost their passion to create and progress. It’s that which keeps them hungry — and musically honest on the new album.

The band will spend the Summer on the road in North America with Slipknot as special guests on their Knotfest Roadshow North American Tour alongside Gojira and Behemoth. The 29-date tour will kick off July 26th in Mountain View, CA with additional stops in Salt Lake City, Phoenix, and Austin (full dates below).  Tickets for these dates are on sale now here.

The band has also announced the first leg of the
Rewind, Replay, Rebound World Tour, with support from Baroness & Danko Jones. This tour will find the band performing in cities across the UK and Europe including London, Madrid, Berlin, Hamburg and Stockholm (full dates below) and tickets for all dates are on sale now here.

VOLBEAT emerged from Copenhagen in 2001. Since then, they’ve tirelessly clawed their way to hard rock’s upper echelon with endless touring and a string of six beloved full-length albums. Recently, their 2010 album Beyond Hell/Above Heaven, which features hit singles “A Warrior’s Call” and “Heaven Nor Hell,” received RIAA Gold Certification. 2013’s Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies bowed at #9 on the Billboard Top 200 upon release marking the highest U.S. chart entry for a Danish Act since 1997 until the band’s 2016 album Seal The Deal & Let’s Boogie topped it by debuting at #4. Most recently the band released Let’s Boogie! Live At Telia Parken, a concert film and album documenting their landmark 2017 Copenhagen show in front of 48,250 fans, the largest show a Danish band has ever performed in Denmark.

DETROIT RAP PROGENY NASAAN DROPS CHAPTER TWO OF VIDEO SERIES TRILOGY

LISTEN TO PART 1 OF NEW EP KISS OF KARMA HERE

ABOUT NASAAN:
The tattoo on the front of Nasaan’s neck is subtle, but its message is loud and clear: “LONER” it reads in all caps. He knows himself well. Unlike many his age, the 20-year-old rapper is reserved, finding comfort in close friends and making music over going to parties or being overly social.

Though he was born to hip-hop legacy (his father is the late Proof from D12), growing up it wasn’t obvious to Nasaan that music would be his life. He was seven when his father died and his mother moved the family around for a few years before settling in Atlanta, where he grew up listening to whatever was on the radio. It was in the back of school buses in middle school, where he and his peers would joke and freestyle, that Nasaan discovered a natural talent for rapping and a passion for hip-hop.

“Around that time Lil’ Wayne had dropped Dedication 4, and it was full of crazy ass metaphors and I thought that was how you were supposed to rap,” he says, reflecting on the moment he decided to start writing rhymes in notebooks. In high school, Nasaan mostly stayed out of trouble and focused on music, eventually choosing to quit the basketball team and his job at Six Flags in order to hone his craft. “I had a phone call with one of my father’s friends, and he told me not to half-ass shit,” he says. When he released his first freestyle “Apple” in high school, a popular fellow student, the now-famed Lil Yachty, shared his praise and boosted Nasaan’s drive. “I fell in love with making music because of the reactions and the emotions I can evoke out of people,” he says. Today, he looks up to the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Travis Scott: “I make music with a purpose, so I want to do that for others. That feeling is just euphoric.”

Growing up, Nasaan spent his summers in Detroit at his grandmother’s house, an environment candidly depicted on the intro track to his Def Jam debut, Kiss of Karma. Detroit, he says, has always welcomed him, and his ties to the city run deep. His father’s old friends Mr. Porter, Eminem and Royce da 5’9” act as mentors to him today: “I pick their brains and learn as much as I can just to stay a step ahead or above the competition. They always stress working hard on me.”

An introvert, Nasaan makes music that is personal without giving too much away. Metaphors abound and his songs take on a narrative structure. He says he studied everything to be the best (specifically Complex’s best albums lists), and it’s clear. Today, Nasaan is focused on “conjuring and solidifying” a sound unique to him, and making his mark on the culture. “I don’t want anyone to blame lineage or relationships for my accolades or success because I took time out, I studied this shit, I really practice my craft on the daily. I want me to be the reason for everything.”

ABOUT STANAJ
An insane journey brought New York-born and Los Angeles-based Albanian-American singer, songwriter, and producer Stanaj to the doorstep of superstardom. Not to mention, he made his late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and the night’s guest Justin Timberlake gave a coveted co-sign. 2018 saw him drop the slick and seductive “Dirty Mind” [feat. Ty Dolla $ign] and lend his voice to Gryffin’s “You Remind Me, which he performed on Jimmy Kimmel LIVE! In the summertime, he hit the studio with the likes of Tommy Brown [Ariana Grande] and d.a. doman [Kodak Black, Chris Brown, Tyga] and ultimately honed his signature style as evidenced by his slick and show-stopping song “Sweat,” which came out earlier this year.

RtA and Machine Gun Kelly Collaborate Custom “Hotel Diablo” Capsule Collection

Highly-coveted Los Angeles fashion label, RtA Brand partners with hip-hop star Machine Gun Kelly (MGK) to celebrate the launch of his new album Hotel Diablo.

To help kick off the launch, MGK will be doing a personal appearance at RtA’s flagship store in West Hollywood Ca, this Sunday, July 14 at 4:00pm. Additionally, the Barneys New York and Beverly Hills locations will unveil the capsule collection on the same day.

The RtA X MGK capsule collection will consist of three limited-edition styles and artwork all inspired by his new album, lyrics, and world tour Hotel Diablo. The celebrated rapper spent the past two month faithfully teasing the project with records, “Hollywood Whore,” “el diablo” and the standout single “I Think I’m OKAY” featuring newcomer Yungblud and Blink 182’s Travis Barker.

In addition to his musical endeavors, Machine Gun Kelly has been hard at work showing off his acting chops in two major Netflix releases, Bird Box and the Motley Crue biopic, The Dirt. The jeans are embroidered with lyrics from the album, while the tops are a modern take on vintage rock t-shirts. There is a large white box on the bottom of each top, so MGK can personally sign them for his fans. The goal was to create elevated vintage rock and roll pieces that can essentially be personalized memorabilia.

The RtA X MGK “Hotel Diablo” collaboration will be available in limited released quantities at www.rtabrand.com, the Barneys New York and Beverly Hills stores, and the RtA West Hollywood flagship store. Retail price range: $145-$325.

Madison Ryann Ward “Beyond Me” EP

Rising vocalist and songwriter Madison Ryann Ward reveals her debut EP, Beyond Me, out now.

LISTEN TO BEYOND ME HERE!

Beyond Me features Madison Ryann Ward’s lead single, “Beyond Me,” as well as three additional tracks: “The Key,” “Other Side” and “BRKN.”

The EP follows Ward’s 2018 breakout single, “Mirror,” which was featured on Jay-Z’s episode of the hit Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman. The song, produced by the legendary Rick Rubin and recorded in his Malibu studio Shangri-La, has over 4 million streams to date and received praise from Billboard, Refinery29, Women’s Health, Music Connection and more. Earlier this year, Madison was also featured on Peter Cottontale’s hit track, “Forever Always,” also featuring Chance The Rapper, YEBBA and Daniel Caesar.

Ward will also appear in Episode 4 of Showtime Documentary Films’ new docu-series, SHANGRI-LA.

Inspired by artists from many different genres, Madison Ryann Ward combines bluesy, soulful melodies with folk, rap and gospel influenced lyricism to create a classic sound that remains all her own. Having grown up in a creative family in Oklahoma, Ward was exposed to music at a young age, which would come to inform her distinct style. However, music was not always the path Madison had in mind. Having played sports all her life, excelling in volleyball, basketball, golf and track, she decided to play collegiate volleyball at Oklahoma University and planned to play professionally overseas after graduation. But when a group of athletes heard her singing Aretha Franklin’s “Chain Of Fools” in the cafeteria and posted a clip on Twitter, the video went viral after being picked up by WorldStarHipHop. The response Ward received prompted her to consider a shift towards making music professionally. Madison took songwriting trips to Nashville, eventually moving there for a year before splitting her time between the studio in New York and Los Angeles, where she signed a label deal with legendary producer Rick Rubin. Following her breakout hit, “Mirror,” and a scene in the Netflix series, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction With David Letterman, Ward unveils her debut EP, Beyond Me, which sees her reach a new level as a lyricist and vocalist.

Jax Jones “Harder” Featuring Bebe Rexha

Fresh from his latest single ‘One Touch’ with Jess Glynne, two-time BRIT Award nominated DJ/producer Jax Jones is back with yet another collaboration in the form of ‘Harder’ with pop powerhouse Bebe Rexha. Out today via Polydor/Interscope Records, stream and download ‘Harder’ here.

In typical Bebe style the lyrics on ‘Harder’ showcase her sass and sharp wit underpinned by the infectious dance and pop beats Jax is synonymous for. ‘Harder’ offers an empowering and self-assured message on how to handle love that is frank but yet fun.

Collectively both Bebe and Jax have set the charts on fire with a succession of award-winning collaborations although ‘Harder’ is the pair’s first joint record. With both boasting an impressive back catalogue of hits, the release of ‘Harder’ is all set to bring their legions of loyal fans together providing the perfect soundtrack to summer.

Speaking of the single Jax said “Me and Camille have a great relationship and we’ve enjoyed a lot of success together – ‘All Day and Night’ and ‘Ring Ring’ – so to join forces with her and Steve Mac, who I’ve looked up to for a long time, was a great opportunity for me to try something different and flex my pop muscles. Bebe Rexha linking up with us on this record was the icing on the cake, she’s pretty iconic and is just a don. ‘All Day and Night’ was for the clubs, this one’s the daytime snack”.

Justin Love and GASHI “Get Out”

Justin Love & GASHI have joined forces for one of the standout feel-good tracks of the summer: Get Out. Sitting in the sweet-spot of R&B and hip-hop, Justin and GASHI trade verses over a bouncy, sunshine-soaked beat. The playful production allows Love’s sultry vocals to take center stage, serenading his love interest throughout. GASHI’s verse adds additional energy and rounds out the infectious tune with his luscious vocals and raunchy lyrics.

Justin & GASHI had some words to share about the song:

“I wanted to create a song that made people feel good for the summer and when I heard this beat, I knew exactly what it took and who needed to be on it with me. Gashi was the perfect fit and the energy he brought was amazing; I’m happy we get to share it with the world!” – Justin

“This record is one of the greatest songs I’ve ever been a part of and I’m very excited for the world to hear this.” – GASHI

Justin Love is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, earning a nomination in the Best R&B Song category at this years’ awards for his writing credits on H.E.R.’s smash hit “Focus”. Love has earned a captivated fanbase with his heartfelt songwriting, flawless vocals and charismatic personality. Get Out is Justin’s third release of the year; following up Runaway and Bad Mind. With a slew of singles ready to roll out in the coming months, Love is slated for a big second half of 2019.

GASHI has had a huge year himself in 2019. The Africa-born, New York-based artist released My Year featuring G-Eazy in February, his second top 20 record (after Creep On Me feat French Montana & DJ Snake), later performing the song on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Kimmel. Having racked up millions of streams and show dates across the globe over the past decade, it’s fair to say GASHI has established himself at the forefront of the new generation of multi-purpose artists.

Get Out is available everywhere on streaming platforms.
