Anna Sofia – No fun

After releasing her recent single “No Fun” to critical acclaim, today Anna Sofia has released the official music video for the track via Electric Feel Records/Republic Records.

Check out Anna Sofia’s official music video for “No Fun” Here!

Stream “No Fun” Here!

On the video Anna Sofia said: “The concept of the video is me being pulled through a bunch of different fun scenes with my friends but I’m (obviously) having NO FUN!!!! Sort of like when you get dragged out by your friends and even though you love them, you’d rather be anywhere else. In reality, it turned out to be a really fun shoot because I was with all my friends from school and we had such a good time filming together. When we were shooting the bed scene one of my friends was jumping at the edge of the bed and fell off and knocked literally everything off of the bed side table – it was hilarious!” -Anna Sofia

Previously on the song Anna Sofia had noted: “No Fun” was written after a birthday my friends threw for me. The song started with a cool chord progression I was working on and talking to my producer about the party. During the party one of my friends accidentally smashed a window and no one would own up to who did it – we had to investigate and didn’t find out until the next morning. The next day however, my friend’s house was a literal disaster and I had to clean the whole house and had a terrible day aka “No Fun.” The lyric in the song “broke a window and a heart or two,” makes me laugh every time I think back to that night when someone ran up to me and told me about what happened!”

The single heralds the arrival of her forthcoming debut EP, Self Aware Bitch. Stay tuned for more from ANNA SOFIA very soon.

Dubbed by OnesToWatch as the “bedroom-pop” songstress who “rapidly affirms herself as a new talent to watch – especially in the infancy of her music career, all signs point to a major breakthrough for this proud Self Aware Bitch.

16-year-old Toronto singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist ANNA SOFIA threads together narrative pop with the scope of a classic nineties teen flick and the unpredictability of 21st century genre-bending. Through a pure perspective only an insider could possess, Anna Sofia chronicles these moments and so much more in her music. Streamed over 2 million times independently as of 2019 and acclaimed by Ones To WatchLyrical Lemonade, and Complex who dubbed her, “a prodigious new talent, she places listeners in the front row of her world on the introductory 2020 EP, Self Aware Bitch [Electric Feel/Republic Records], and her forthcoming full-length debut.

MAGGIE ROGERS – NEW TRACK

Today, Maggie Rogers shared the new track “Love You For A Long Time,” a love song for her fans. It’s a joyous reflection from Rogers, honoring the astonishing journey she and her followers have shared since the release of her full-length Capitol Records debut, Heard It In A Past Life, which has sold more than 600,000 adjusted albums to date. The song celebrates this monumental chapter of Rogers’ career – which culminated with a GRAMMY nomination for Best New Artist earlier this week – while simultaneously turning the page and preparing for what comes next. She penned the heartfelt lyrics and wrote the music with Doc McKinney and Michael Sonier. Ricky Reed and Nate Mercereau produced the track. Download / stream “Love You For A Long Time” HERE.

Says Rogers, “I actually wrote most of ‘Love You For A Long Time’ the day before I wrote ‘Light On.’” Those last days of finishing Heard It In A Past Life were such vivid and vital creative moments for me. I was dreaming up a future – for my music, for my life – and the possibilities felt endless. For various reasons, but mostly scheduling, the song was left unfinished and unrecorded, but it always stuck with me and I’ve found its melody weaving in and out of my brain for the last year and a half. Since then, a lot has changed in my life, but one of the biggest changes has been my relationship with my band. I’ve been playing with most of my band for about three years now and over the course of touring this record we’ve become real adopted family. As we set out on our biggest tour yet this fall, I wanted to bring new work to our stage and give this song I love so much an arrangement that showcased the deep personal and creative bonds I’ve formed with these special people in my life. So I wrote a bridge, finished the song, and recorded it in LA in August. I produced it with my trusted friend and collaborator Ricky Reed, with some arrangement help from the brilliant Nate Mercereau on bass and guitar. It’s a song about love in all its forms — romantic love, the love I feel for my friends, the love I feel for my band, and the love I’ve shared with all of you. I wanted it to sound like the last days of summer. I wanted it to sound as wild and alive as new love feels.”

Rogers recently wrapped her sold-out headline 2019 tour, which included two consecutive nights at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall, DC’s The Anthem and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. After developing a lovingly cultish devotion to Rogers online, fans are turning out repeatedly for the live experience – and they’re bringing their friends along. Rogers has sold more than 150,000 concert tickets. Combined global streams of her songs have surpassed 650 million. The 25-year-old producer, songwriter and performer has been honored with a place on the TIME 100 Next 2019 list, which celebrates rising stars and up-and-comers who are shaping their industries – and the future. The New Yorker praised Rogers as “an artist of her time.” Rolling Stone awarded Heard It In A Past Life four stars upon its release, and The New York Times praised Heard It in a Past Life as a collection of “buoyant electronic pop songs.” The album has also earned praise from NPR, Pitchfork, USA Today, Vogue, Billboard and many other publications. Heard It In A Past Life entered Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart at No. 1 and debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. “Light On,” praised by Rolling Stone as “a cathartic counterpoint to today’s pop-empowerment anthems,” topped Billboard’s Adult Alternative Songs tally.

Following appearances on “Saturday Night Live,” “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” “Late Night with Seth Meyers,” “The Late Late Show with James Corden,” “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and “TODAY,” Rogers made her “Austin City Limits” (ACL) debut last month with an hour-long performance. The 11-song set included a captivating rendition of “Alaska,” the breakout track that introduced her talents as a songwriter and producer to the world, and a gorgeous a cappella performance of “Color Song.” Watch “Light On,”“Fallingwater” and a special online only exclusive performance of “The Knife.”

Maggie Rogers grew up in Easton, Maryland. After graduating from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, she released her critically acclaimed debut EP, Now That The Light Is Fading. The BBC, Tidal, Google Play, Vevo, Pandora quickly tipped her as an artist to watch. NPR named her one of its Favorite Musicians and Rogers was the first YouTube Artist On The Rise (AOTR) of 2019. She has also been included in Twitter Music’s #ArtistToFollow, Amazon’s First And Last and Pandora’s Drumbeats programs.

The internationally breaking singer song-writer has caught the attention of famed publications such as Wonderland, Clash Magazine, and Euphoria Magazine and also Julia Michaels who shared Sody’s track “Maybe It Was Me” on socials.

“What We Had” is a track sure to have an impact – full of reflection, captured by a spine-tingling blend of piano and breathy vocals.

The accompanying live performance video also releases today at 5PM GMT / 12PM EST / 9AM PST featuring Sody in red, surrounded by an all red set and self-accompanying on the piano whilst showcasing her incredible vocal abilities. Click here to watch “What We Had.”

Speaking on the emotionally driven “What We Had,” Sody muses:

“When a relationship comes to an end and you fall out of love, it doesn’t necessarily mean you stop caring for that person. What We Had is acknowledging how special the connection was and admitting somewhat selfishly that you sometimes don’t want your ex sharing your good times with someone else.”

The EP ‘I’m Sorry I’m Not Sorry,’ which will be rounded out with further tracks coming on December 6, includes co-writing credits and production from Sacha Skarbek (Miley Cyrus, Wrecking Ball and Lana Del Rey, Without You), Toby Scott (Little Mix, Gossip) and Frances (Maisie Peters, Jess Glyn) amongst others.

At 12 years old, Sophie Dyson aka Sody was discovered by her manager where her music career began. She spent the next few years honing her song-writing skills and was promptly signed to UMPG in 2016, one of their youngest signings to date.

At 15, came her first offer of a record deal, making the decision to turn it down after realising she wasn’t ready. She released her debut EP ‘Youth’ in 2016, garnering over 4 million streams and has since gained the support of Wonderland, Clash, Line of Best Fit and BBC Introducing.

In the last year, Sody has released a number of tracks including ‘Maybe It Was Me,’ ‘Let You Know,’ ‘Whole (demo),’ ‘I Don’t Know You Anymore,’ and ‘The Bully’. Earlier this year, in support of ‘The Bully,’ Sody passionately advocated for anti-bullying by partnering with UK organisation Ditch The Label and travelled the UK giving talks about her bullying experience in high schools.

An artist on the rise, Sody at the mere age of 19 has had tracks featured on Love Island UK and already amassed over 35 million collective streams.
