Question Mid Heart Over Hype

Reebok announces the launch of the all new Question Mid Heart Over Hype sneaker, celebrating those who follow in Allen Iverson’s footsteps by prioritizing energy, passion and determination over flash. The new sneakers will be introduced with a film starring Josh Richardson, who is currently in his first season with Philadelphia, as he learns about the culture of his new team’s city; one that reflects those same values of grit, substance and hard work embodied by Allen Iverson.

A poignant journey welcoming Richardson to Philadelphia, the film follows the guard, clad in the Heart Over Hype sneakers, as he explores the city and meets the unheralded residents, businesses and community organizations that define its unique energy. Whether it’s the owner of local cheesesteak spot Tony Luke’s, the urban equestrians of Fletcher Street, the famed dirt bike riders or the city’s staple Midrange Morris Basketball league, these Philly residents possess a palpable passion for what they do and paint a picture of what “heart over hype” truly means.

“There are so many unmistakable traits that define the city and the people of Philadelphia like hard work, resilience and grit,” said Richardson. “This is a city that shows so much heart, just like Iverson, and it’s an honor to play here and call it home.”

“As a shooting guard who reflects Iverson’s hustle, passion and determination, Josh is the perfect player to take up the mantle of Iverson’s legacy in Philadelphia,” said Johnice Bristol, Head of U.S. Marketing, Reebok. “With Heart Over Hype, we are excited to highlight a local story yet universal sentiment, as we continue to celebrate Iverson and the shoe that forever changed the game.”

When it comes to the admiration and appreciation residents have for their local heroes who, like Iverson, prioritize heart over hype, local dirt bike rider Mont adds, “When Philly rock with you, we rock with you until the wheels fall off.”

Following the sneaker’s global drop, Reebok and Richardson will continue to celebrate Philadelphia by stopping at key locations from the film and distributing pairs of the Question Mid Heart Over Hype throughout the city next month. In addition to the sneakers, Reebok will give away a hyper-exclusive run of Reebok co-branded merch, designed in collaboration with some of the film’s stars.

The Question Mid Heart Over Hype is a reintroduction of Iverson’s iconic Question Mid, which was the first signature shoe he debuted with Reebok in the 1996-97 season. The silhouette features bold red and black colors that signify Iverson’s mentality of valuing energy, passion and determination over flash.

It is the first silhouette within the “Heart of Hustle” series that will highlight specific aspects of Iverson’s personal life. Retailing for $150, the silhouette is available beginning December 23rd, 2019 on Reebok.com and across the Foot Locker family of brands, including: Foot Locker, Kids Foot Locker, Footaction, Champs Sports and Eastbay.com.

Purple Disco Machine

The Purple Disco Machine remix of ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ has been unveiled today and is available now at all digital retailers. Listen to the remix HERE.

An Academy Awards shortlisted, Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Award nominated song, the original version of ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ was written especially for the ‘Rocketman’ soundtrack by Elton John and Bernie Taupin, and performed by Elton and Taron Egerton. The original version is featured on the GRAMMY nominated Top 5 album ‘Rocketman: Music From The Motion Picture’ (out now on Interscope Records) and played out over the movie’s closing credits. With his remix, Purple Disco Machine gracefully transforms ‘(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again’ into a joyous, slinky disco groove, keeping Elton and Taron’s show-stopping vocals and the track’s Motown inspired soul at its core.

Epic musical fantasy ‘Rocketman’ was greeted by a wealth of critical and commercial success upon its release in May and shows no sign of slowing down as it heads into awards season. Having already taken more than $195 million in global box office, it has been shortlisted for two Academy Awards for Makeup and Hairstyling, and Music (Original Song). Rocketman has also been nominated for three Golden Globe Awards for Best Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy), Best Original Song and Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture (Musical or Comedy). It has also garnered nominations for three Critics’ Choice Awards and its soundtrack has also been nominated for a GRAMMY® Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media.

Elton says “Bernie and I wanted to celebrate the nominations for “I’m Gonna Love Me Again”.  I’m so happy that Purple Disco Machine was able to come to the party with a fabulous new remix. I’m a massive fan of his work.”

The release caps off a year which has been truly astonishing in its breadth of achievements, even by Elton John’s standards. Alongside Rocketman’s ongoing success, 2019 has seen the release of Elton’s first autobiography ‘Me’. It has already amassed global sales in excess of 700,000 copies to date, topping bestseller charts around the world in the process and garnering widespread acclaim with critics heralding it as a genre-defining rock memoir. Reaching the top 5 of the UK Charts, the GRAMMY® nominated album ‘Rocketman: Music From The Motion Picture’ saw producer Giles Martin reimagine Elton’s unparalleled back catalogue to fit Rocketman’s narrative, working with the filmmakers on the production and pulling a vocal masterclass from Taron in the studio. September 2019 saw The Royal Mail issue a set of 12 stamps as a tribute to Elton being one of the most popular and enduring music artists of all time. Elton is one of only two individual music artists to be featured in a dedicated stamp issue. In June 2019 President Emmanuel Macron presented Elton the Légion d’honneur, France’s highest award, for his lifetime contribution to the arts and the fight against HIV/AIDS. Elton’s ongoing Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour was named Billboard’s Top Rock Tour in May 2019, the accolade coming a year after Billboard named Elton as the most successful male solo artist in Billboard Hot 100 chart history.

The Score – Bulletproof

Gold-certified and critically acclaimed LA-based, New York-born rock band The Score—Eddie Anthony and Edan Dover—have unleashed a brand new single entitled “Bulletproof” featuring Xylø.

Check out “Bulletproof” ft Xylø HERE via Republic Records.

The song’s release comes in tandem with the release of Netflix’s highly anticipated new film 6 Underground starring Ryan Reynolds and directed by Michael Bay. “Bulletproof” is featured as the end title song in the film and three additional songs from The Score are also featured including “Glory,” “Legend” and “The Fear.” 6 Underground is in select theaters now and on Netflix.

Buttressed by percussive distortion, wild horns, and finger-snaps, the track places the group in the center of a vibrant vocal crossfire with Xylø. Tempering pop ambition and raw edge, her voice rings out over modulation on the instantly unshakable hook, “I wish that I was bullet proof.” It’s an anthem worthy of the group’s growing catalog of bold genre-defiant bangers.

About the tune, the band commented, “We wanted to write a song that captured the feel of the movie while still being us. We felt having our friend Xylø sing the chorus would add a new dimension to the song, while still being authentic to us as a band.”

It paves the way for much more to come from The Score in 2020.

Get ready.

New York-born and Los Angeles-based duo The Score stand out as a fiery genre-defying phenomenon, incinerating the lines between rock, pop, indie, and electronic. Powered by ubiquitous anthems such as “Oh My Love,” “Legend,” and gold-selling “Unstoppable,” the boys have racked up nearly 2.2 Billion cumulative streams worldwide over the course of two EPs—Unstoppable and Myths & Legends—and a 2017 full-length debut, ATLAS. As they ignited venues across North America, in addition their music has been used in campaigns for Jeep, NBA, and beyond.
6 Underground introduces a new kind of action hero. Six individuals from all around the globe, each the very best at what they do, have been chosen not only for their skill, but for a unique desire to delete their pasts to change the future. The team is brought together by an enigmatic leader (Ryan Reynolds), whose sole mission in life is to ensure that, while he and his fellow operatives will never be remembered, their actions damn sure will.

Drama Relax – On the Side

Long Island-bred singer/songwriter/producer Drama Relax shares an addictively catchy single called “On the Side. Released via Rule #1/Interscope Records, and produced by Oren Yoel (Miley Cyrus, XXXTenacion & more), the smooth and soulful track delivers Drama Relax’s signature brand of deeply confessional R&B.

Check out “On the Side” by Drama Relax HERE.

Directed by Kenny Okagaki, the video for “On the Side” features a beautifully dreamy color palette and adds a new layer of emotion to Drama Relax’s lyrics — a candid expression of romantic frustration and doubt. With its moody beats and delicate textures, the song again reveals Drama Relax’s supreme skill in matching his perfectly crafted melodies with heart-on-sleeve honesty.

“My goal with my music is to help people understand the situations they’re going through,” says Drama Relax. “I want them to know that even if you have a bad breakup, it’s gonna be okay, because so many other people are dealing with the same thing. If you can have that awareness and that perspective, it makes everything so much better in the long run.”

“On the Side” marks Drama Relax’s first new music since his debut EP Lonely, a three-track project released in October. His recent triumphs also include landing a song on the hugely popular 13 Reasons Why (Season 3) soundtrack: “All That” featuring Chicago singer/songwriter Jeremih, an undeniably infectious track that’s now surpassed 3.2 million streams on Spotify.

About Drama Relax:

Growing up on Long Island, Drama Relax started making music in eighth grade, largely inspired by Lil Wayne’s Tha Carter III. After spending his high school years building his beat-making skills and self-releasing a series of mixtapes, he pushed forward with his music by producing and selling beats online. Once he’d amassed a sizable following on YouTube, Drama Relax began sharing his own music and steadily grew a fanbase on SoundCloud. His songs soon drew the attention of Interscope Geffen A&M Executive Vice President Joie Manda, which led to his signing to Interscope in fall 2018.

You don’t need the wealth of Goldfinger to achieve the style of James Bond

When it comes to style icons from the movies, it is safe to say that women have a wider choice of influencers than men. Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Miranda Priestley and Andrea Sachs in The Devil Wears Prada, Carrie Bradshaw in Sex in the City, the list goes on and on. For the guys, however, the face might change, but there’s only one name worth mentioning as a true style icon. Bond. James Bond.

Bond is back – again

When Ian Fleming first created the character of James Bond, he was a somewhat one-dimensional character with no backstory at all until the later novels. But over the course of almost 60 years, we have come to know him through those who portrayed him on the big screen. Connery’s masculinity, Lazenby’s human frailties, Moore’s roguish charm, Dalton’s dangerous edge, Brosnan’s grim humor and Craig’s more introspective nature have all added new layers to the character.

Whoever takes over from Daniel Craig will add more to the mythology, but one theme has remained a constant from 1962’s Dr No to the 2020 release No Time to Die. That is Bond’s ability to look stylish and unflappable whether he’s at the gaming tables in Monte Carlo, out on the golf links or relaxing by the pool. Here, we’ll look at some of the memorable James Bond styles and find out how you can recreate them.

Formal wear

Perhaps the most iconic image in 007’s history is in Goldfinger when he emerges from the water, and removes his wetsuit to reveal a perfectly pressed tuxedo beneath. That’s one of dozens of occasions in which Bond has shown his ability to look the part among the high rollers at the casino. Now classical casino style is something that’s barely changed at all in 60 years, and the black tie and tuxedo is something that will never go out of fashion. That means this is actually one of the easier Bond fashions to emulate, but in this age of online gambling and local casinos in every town, is it a little over the top?

A tux is not necessarily the most versatile of investments, but the good news is it is not a prerequisite to achieve the Bond-style formal look. If you watch Daniel Craig in Skyfall from a fashionista’s perspective, you’ll see he dons several formal suits throughout the movie. Tom Ford collaborated with the directors to create the look you see, and both the rich blue suit shown early on and the classic charcoal pinstripe Bond wears later bear his label.

Pin stripes can cover up a multitude of sins if you don’t quite have Craig’s physique, balancing out any imperfections in your frame. Pair up the suit with a pale blue button down shirt, a dickie bow and your best formal shoes, and you’ll be welcomed with open arms in Monte Carlo!

On the links

Getting out on the golf course is a popular way to demonstrate your sartorial elegance, but it is also fraught with danger. Traditional golf attire can verge on the ridiculous if you don’t take care. This is perfectly demonstrated in Goldfinger, when Bond had a round of golf with the eponymous villain and put him squarely in his place in both the sporting and the fashion stakes.

While Gert Fröbe’s character went all out with the plus fours, Sean Connery’s Bond showed that less is more, with brown slacks, a pink shirt and branded sweater all topped off by that wonderful fedora. It’s a straightforward style to follow, and designers like Lyle & Scott are a good place to look, give their Scottish origins and specialization in golf wear.  There are plenty of options there with similar colors, but to bring the overall look into the 21st century, you might choose to swap the brown loafers favored by Bond for a pair of smart branded trainers. Whether you feel you can pull off the fedora as successfully as Sean Connery is a matter of personal choice. It’s a style accessory that you’ll never tire of wearing, and this handy guide will help you choose the right one.

At the beach

Plenty of Bond action takes place at or near the beach, and it is not always wetsuits and tuxedos. In Casino Royale Daniel Craig paid tribute to that famous Ursula Andress beach scene from Dr No, at the same time turning the whole concept on its head, by emerging from the sea in a pair of very short blue trunks.

It’s not something you could ever picture Connery, Moore, Dalton and the rest doing, but let’s face it, Daniel Craig has the physique to make it work. If you’re blessed with similar pecs and want to show them off, nobody can blame you for that. Suppliers like Boardies offer a range of swim shorts, and like Bond, they are as British as they come! For those of us who would need to tone up a little to feel comfortable with the look, try adding a stylish t-shirt and some good quality sneakers.

Casual wear

The life of the secret agent is not all about casinos, golf and the beach, which is one thing 007 has in common with the rest of us. There are numerous examples across the years of Bond blending into his surroundings in casual attire. But still, he always manages to do it with a sense of style.

Our inspiration here is derived from the man who really brought casual style to the Bond character at the turn of the millennium, Pierce Brosnan. The 2002 movie Die Another Day has not gone down as a classic with its lumbering “war on terror” plot and the frankly ridiculous invisible car. But it did allow Brosnan to show us Bond in a few different casual shirts. It’s a triumph of the “just thrown on” look, but still archetypally British.

It’s also probably the simplest of all these looks to recreate. Choose a dark blue buttoned shirt with open collar, and for summer months, you could even pair it with some denim shorts. A pair of tan boat shoes with no socks completes the picture.
