“I stand here with the most humble heart that Lil Nas X’s ‘Old Town Road’ featuring BRC is still on Former President Barack Obama’s official playlist of 2019. What a way to cap off the year,” said Billy Ray Cyrus.
“Old Town Road (Billy Ray Cyrus Remix)” continues touching audiences and all ages worldwide as the pair are up for 3 nominations at the 62nd Annual GRAMMY®Awards in the all genre Record Of The Year and Best Music Video categories, as well as Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, which air January 26 on CBS. About Billy Ray Cyrus:
Billy Ray Cyrus became a household name over the course of his unprecedented career which spans across music, television and theater. Throughout his nearly three decade career, Cyrus has achieved worldwide success as a singer, songwriter, actor and producer. The Flatwoods, KY native exploded onto the music scene when his first album, Some Gave All, debuted on the all-genre Billboard album chart at No. 1 and stayed there for a record-breaking 17 weeks in 1992. The lead single, “Achy Breaky Heart,” became a phenomenon as the single went multi-platinum. After “Achy Breaky Heart,” Cyrus followed up with back to back hits “It Could’ve Been Me,” “She’s Not Crying Anymore,” “Wher’m I Gonna Live When I Get Home?” and the anthemic “Some Gave All.” Cyrus knocked himself out of the top Billboard position with the his second No. 1 album, It Won’t Be The Last, featuring smash hits “In the Heart of a Woman,” “Words By Heart” and “Somebody New.” Cyrus followed up with dozens more that defined country music. “To me, my most defining moment in country was being joined by George Jones and Loretta Lynn on my self-penned ‘Country Music Has the Blues,’” said Cyrus. He also enjoyed a successful career as an actor in “Doc” and “Still The King,” as well as the Disney series “Hannah Montana” with his daughter Miley. Recently, Cyrus has shattered records with Lil Nas X with the global smash, “Old Town Road,” which remained No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for 19 consecutive weeks.

CITY MORGUE VOL 2
Hikari-Ultra/Republic Records duo City Morgue debuts at number one on the Billboard Top R&B/Hip Hop Albums Chart and in the top 20 on the Billboard Top 200 Albums Chart today with their new album CITY MORGUE VOL 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD.Despite being in the rock categories on all of the digital service platforms and number one on the Apple Music Rock Albums chart, Billboard went in a different direction, placing it on their urban genre chart.
Impressively generating over two million total streams in under two weeks, the pair—SosMula and ZillaKami—launch a full-scale infiltration of both the rock and hip hop marketplace with this culture-splitting album. These two urban kids from a new generation are making waves to bring new life to rock music, with a hip-hop touch.
The 17-track album is executive produced by legendary producer Mike Dean andfeatures their previously released single “THE BALLOONS.” On the album, the duo spin gothic hood tales, harking back to timeless East Coast hip-hop—yet sharpened by their signature dark metallic edge. New York’s most notorious duo flex their storytelling like never before and hint at a deeper, darker and deadlier narrative. The duo partnered with Bravado to create exclusive merch surrounding the release of their new album that sold out in three days and collaborated with A$AP Bari’sVLONE to create t-shirts, sweatshirts, bandanas and more that sold out in 72 hours.
The melding of Rock and Rap is a concept that’s existed within the underbelly of music for decades, yet few have done what City Morgue is doing. When upstarts SosMula and ZillaKami come together, their fusion is seamless—oozing true skill with a reckless lack of fucks left to give. On the supergroup’s debut mixtape City Morgue Vol. 1: Hell or High Water, the dynamic duo delivered a new and exciting vibe for any fan of true music—from hip-hop to metal. They will continue this movement on their second album CITY MORGUE VOL 2: AS GOOD AS DEAD. Their music is an experience anyone can appreciate and shows what happens when two worlds meet to form an entirely new planet. The Hikari-Ultra/Republic Records signees have already shown a significant track record of hits in a relatively short amount of time, and it won’t stop there. The duo also dominates the merch scene, with countless sold out exclusive collections. AVA DELLA PIETRA
Rising artist Ava Della Pietra’s new single has all the ingredients of a Christmas classic
Every year around this time, artists and bands from around the country release holiday music. And while we don’t usually cover Christmas releases, Ava Della Pietra deserves your attention – she certainly caught ours. Listen to Ava’s new single “Christmas Tonight” here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pVhv7E389IY&feature=youtu.be
Ava is a preternaturally accomplished and talented young artist who began performing at age four and writing songs at age five. She taught herself to play a mind-boggling number of instruments after starring in the original Broadway cast of School of Rock – piano, bass, guitar, violin, and ukulele – and she performs them simultaneously on stage using an innovative loop pedal approach. She has written more than forty songs and recorded at least a dozen with producers Will Hicks (Ed Sheeran, Jamie Lawson), Adrian Gurvitz (Jesse McCartney, Cheetah Girls), and Brian Malouf (Michael Jackson, Sabrina Carpenter). The songs will be released in the coming months, with a full-length album planned for 2020.
Ava’s most recent single, “Christmas Tonight,” is a beautiful and uplifting new song about the magic of the holiday season, focused not on Santa and presents, but on the more unspoken aspects of the season – a fresh snow, shimmering lights, and family and friends coming together to share in the special day. “Christmas Tonight” has been streamed nearly 75k times since being released this month and has featured on lists of the season’s “Best Holiday Songs.”
Ava has been touring in support of her new material, and recently performed at My Father’s Place in Roslyn, New York, and in front of a sold out crowd at NYC’s Rockwood Music Hall. Prior to launching her singing career, Ava performed on the national tours of Les Misérables and White Christmas before joining the original cast of School of Rock, and has been featured on shows like Good Morning America, Sesame Street, the Tony Awards, Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, and more. She recently performed at the Sundance Film Festival, the Great South Bay Music Festival, and at Madison Square Garden in front of 20,000 Knicks fans.
Ava is certainly an artist to watch as we head into 2020. To learn more about her, visit http://www.avadellapietra.com/

TERRELL HINES – Get Up
Terrell Hines releases the video for “Get Up,” shot in Quebec at an abandoned Asbestos Mine and directed by Mishka Kornai, the song is off Hines’ debut EP on Capitol Records, St. Mark Rd.. Watch the video HERE.
Hines is not only a songwriter, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and producer with influences as broad as Outkast, Joy Division, Four Tet, and Gullah music, but his mind isn’t quite like other people’s. It’s no wonder Berklee College of Music gave Hines a full ride, or that people’s first exposure to his vision came during a 2019 Apple Keynote— that song, the rip-roaring avant-hoedown “Get Up,” hails from St. Mark Rd. EP, and is a mere peek into the wildness that’s coming.
Pharrell Williams. Chris Martin. Sky Ferreira. Dev Hynes. Well-known names involved in Beck’s new album Hyperspace. But for the album’s title track guest vocals are from Terrell Hines, a new artist who has yet to release a full album, yet whose music contains multitudes in the way it blurs all manner of genres into one big urgent, beautiful, hyper-dynamic ball of energy.
Yes, the core of his sound is a living mix of eerie soul, alt-pop, hip-hop, post-punk, and southern funk, but Hines is a world-builder with a voracious mind. This Georgia-born, Los Angeles-based visionary has created an entire ecosystem for his songs, where sonic structures and lyrics are just as likely to be inspired by the socio-political as they are the personal, by functional architecture as abstract art, by the austere science of survivalism as the limitless potential of technology. The best part is, you don’t have to know all that to feel the holistic magic of Hines’ work. We hear immediacy, exuberance, freedom, and ingenuity — music as surprising as it is captivating — while he sees a burning question: “If shit popped off and society had to be rebuilt,” asks Hines, “how would I do it?”
The concept that drives his music — an even split of postmodern and post-apocalyptic — is how he funnels all his obsessions into what he does best. He’s a renaissance man who can be found devouring books on linguistics, synesthesia, or evolutionary psychology in his downtime. Or considering which metals one would want to gather following a catastrophe, then actually sampling those metals in the studio. “I’m trying to engineer the future,” says Hines.
“An even split of postmodern and post-apocalyptic, Hines’ St. Mark Rd. is the triumphant birth of an artist that knows there’s nothing he can’t turn into song. It makes you feel hopeless and hopeful at the same time. It makes your heart swell…” -Substream Magazine
