HILL HAS AMASSED OVER ONE BILLION STREAMS AND CHARTED SEVEN TOP 40 HITS IN UK

Chart-topping U.K. artist Becky Hill will make her U.S. live debut with an intimate, acoustic performance at Mercury Lounge in New York City on Thursday, April 9. BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac has called her “one of the finest voices in pop music today.” With over a billion streams and 20 million Spotify monthly listeners, Hill is now the 2nd most listened to British female artist on Spotify in the U.K. Tickets for this special performance are available HERE.

“IM PLAYING MY FIRST AMERICAN SHOW!! NEW YORK!!” says Hill. “UR in for a treat at the Mercury Lounge as I’ll be playing an intimate, acoustic show on the 9th of April in my 2nd favourite city!”

Renowned for her show-stopping vocal prowess and credentials as a hitmaking songwriter, the 25-year-old artist is one of Britain’s most in-demand musical exports. Popjustice declared her “UK pop’s greatest secret weapon.” To date, Hill has written and performed on seven singles that charted in the top 40 of the UK Official Singles chart yet her roots are firmly ensconced in electronic music. Her songwriting skills have been enlisted by such artists as Tiësto, Jax Jones, Martin Solveig and Little Mix.

“Better Off Without You” is Hill’s first release since 2019’s Get To Know, which Billboard hailed as “electrifying…a must-hear.” A hugely personal body of work that explores the varying stages of love and loss, Get To Know simultaneously serves as an introduction to Hill and a veritable greatest hits collection. It contains the million-selling “Gecko (Overdrive)” with Oliver Heldens, which took the No. 1 spot on the UK Official Singles chart, the UK Top 10 singles “Wish You Well” with Sigala, which has amassed over 100 million streams, and “Afterglow” with Wilkinson, plus the club anthem “Back & Forth” with MK and Jonas Blue. The album also includes her collaborations with MNEK, WEISS and Matoma.

Gaucho – Buenos Aires Appoints New Creative Director

GAUCHO – BUENOS AIRES Appoints Lautaro Amadeo Tambutto As Creative Director.

Gaucho – Buenos Aires, an emerging luxury label with global ambitions, is pleased to announce they have appointed in-house designer, Lautaro Amadeo Tambutto as the brand’s Creative Director. His role and primary duties as a designer ;will now be expanded, managing the conception, design, and on-brand execution of materials for the brand. Tambutto will be working primarily out of the business’s headquarters in New York City, as well as the atelier in Buenos Aires’ upmarket Recoleta district.

Off the heels of a successful debut at New York Fashion Week in September 2019, Tambutto joined the growing Gaucho – Buenos Aires brand in December, with plans to incorporate creative silhouettes and lots of leather with an urban spin for the young and culturally aware clientele. Tambutto’s “GPS Collection” – slated for the SS20-21 season – plots a course on a fashion journey that builds upon contemporary urban and athleisure trends. By injecting elegance and sophistication into streetwear fashion, Tambutto intends to elevate streetwear casual to streetwear elegance, and seeks to globally position Gaucho – Buenos Aires’ spirit of Argentina as a major presence in the fashion landscape.

Born in Argentina, Tambutto’s family originally hails from San Antonio de Areco – otherwise known as the home of the Gaucho. Having received his training in Italy, Vogue Italia has described his aesthetic as a “very modern and richly inspired take on sportswear,” and it is indeed an appealing mix of references – “the sweet spot between sportswear, traditional tailoring and Latin American influences,” Tambutto says. It all resonates strongly with Gaucho – Buenos Aires’ own design DNA. Tambutto sees immense possibilities for the emerging brand to put Buenos Aires on the luxury fashion map and looks forward to bringing long-overdue recognition to Argentinian design.

“I’m very excited about taking over the creative direction of Gaucho and working with such a professional group. The team’s support and mutual understanding of each other helps us move forward in the right direction. Since the beginning of my career, I saw the image of the Gaucho as an icon and my inspiration, and now with this opportunity as Creative Director for Gaucho – Buenos Aires, I have the platform to show the world my vision, my traditions, and a canvas to highlight this beautiful culture,” said Tambutto.

“We could not be more excited to promote Lautaro into his new role as Creative Director. His positive attitude, heritage and talent lends to the authenticity of our brand” said Scott Mathis, Gaucho Group Holdings, Inc.’s Founder & Chairman.

“Lautaro’s creative vision and style pairs perfectly with Gaucho – Buenos Aires’ growing collection of products, the authenticity of Argentina, and the elegance and style of Buenos Aires. We look forward to great things from our team in the future. Our company’s future lies in e-commerce, where we have the opportunity to achieve global scale.”

About Gaucho – Buenos Aires
Gaucho – Buenos Aires blends the quality of a bygone era with a sophisticated, modern, global outlook. The brand’s beautifully handcrafted clothing and accessories herald the birth of Buenos Aires’ finest designer label. In September 2019, Gaucho – Buenos Aires entered the US market with a Spring/Summer 2020 runway show at NYFW celebrating the romance and glamour of Buenos Aires with a modern twist. Drawing on the cosmopolitan vibe of Buenos Aires and the spirit of traditional Gaucho culture, Gaucho – Buenos Aires is a new destination for luxury ready-to-wear and leather accessories. Weaving artisan techniques and materials into innovative contemporary designs, Gaucho is gaining traction as an emerging designer brand to watch.

5 Of The Best Japanese Streetwear Brands Of Today

What was once one of the best kept secrets in menswear is now the topic of discussion when speaking about streetwear fashion. We’re talking about Japanese Streetwear brands. Over the past years many have become trendsetters, innovators and risk takers all while delivering high-quality products.

If you’re familiar with Japanese Streetwear brands, you’ll most likely find plenty of your favorite brands below. If you’re foreign to all of this, prepare to be introduced to a brand new definition of style. Sites like CultEdge.com are among the best for you to know more about Japanese streetwear brands. Here is a list of 5 of the best Japanese Streetwear brands of today.

NEIGHBORHOOD

Considered one of the OGs of Japanese Streetwear brands, NEIGHBORHOOD has been in the game for well over 25 years. Created by Shinsuke Takizawa (Shin) back in 1994, the brand was part of the original Harajuku streetwear scene of the early ’90s that helped birth labels you will find in this list such as BAPE, UNDERCOVER and WTAPS. NEIGHBORHOOD draws inspiration from historic motorcycle subculture and is best known for its authentic selvedge denim that is manufactured to specific specifications and customized with natural washes resulting in a wide variety of finishes.

mastermind Japan

Founded in 1987, mastermind Japan is known for two distinct traits: using the color black on virtually everything and their iconic Skull and Crossbones logo. Subtle in design, mastermind still finds ways to think outside the box. Inspired by the punk and goth scene, mastermind Japan prides itself on the quality of their products and the detail that goes into them. That being the case, most mastermind Japan products are sold at high price tags. Masaaki Homma (owner) closed the brand’s doors back in 2013 but soon thereafter opened up shop once more. In 2017, the brand celebrated its 20th anniversary by launching a global label named mastermind WORLD. This marked a resurgence of the label which resulted in mastermind JAPAN and mastermind WORLD working side by side while releasing collections for their own respective markets.

A Bathing Ape (BAPE)

Arguably the most known Japanese Streetwear brand from this list, BAPE was founded back in 1993 by NIGO®. What started off as a brand that mostly sold graphic tees, BAPE eventually became a powerhouse that sold everything ranging from denim, jackets, toothbrushes and condoms. Yes, condoms. That said, some of BAPE’s most known items include their Bapesta sneakers, their shark hoodies, and the use of camo on a wide range of their products. BAPE has a very strong following that ranges from trendy teenagers to consumers who also dabble in high-end fashion.

fragment design

Founded by the godfather of Japanese streetwear, Hiroshi Fujiwara, fragment design is easily recognized by its lightning bolt logo. Known for being a part of many notable collaborations, Fujiwara tends to keep the changes and alterations at a minimum when working on collaboration with other brands. Often times, the simple addition of the lightning bolt logo is more than enough to create a highly-coveted collaboration (see fragment design x Air Jordan ). Talk about brand recognition!

WTAPS

WTAPS, pronounced double-taps, was founded by Tetsu NIshiyama back in 1996. Before that, Tetsue was actually a protégé of Shin (founder of NEIGHBORHOOD) back in the early ‘90s when he started the FPAR t-shirt brand. WTAPS is inspired by authentic military designs. The brand fuses those authentic military designs with streetwear sensibilities and contemporary perspectives to create the aesthetic of their products. If you ever go to Japan, you will find that WTAPS is as popular as Supreme. Much of their product results in long lines on release days that sell out at a rapid pace.
