Uses For Essential Oil And Applications Like Refillable Essential Oil Vape Pen

There are essentially three methods for essential oils to incorporate into the body either through absorption into the skin, inhalation, or ingestion. For each of these methods, there comes a variety of techniques for application. It’s important to note that the substances are not to have direct application to the skin without having dilution with a carrier oil. Typically, you would use a teaspoon of the carrier such as a vegetable or nut oil or even water in combination with three drops of the pure compound.

Essential Oil Application

The method that you use for application will depend on the effect that you want and which substance you choose. Some oils irritate the skin meaning they would not be appropriate for the topical method. A more appropriate technique may be inhalation for which you could try this application, a refillable essential oil vape pen alternatively. The condition will play a part as well in determining which technique you choose.

  • In most instances wound care will involve the topical method.
  • Inhalation or topicals will be more useful for mood-related effects, but the suggestion is that inhalation may be more fast-acting.
  • In a steam bath, both inhalation and topical absorption note to be useful.
  • Ingesting or swallowing essential oils is not recommended due to the damage that it can cause to the body. However, they can be useful when added to water and gargled. After gargling, you should spit out. You should not swallow any of the solutions. An example is a drop of tea tree oil in combination with a glass of water notes to be useful for a sore throat.

For those who don’t know how to use their aromatherapy most productively, consulting with a qualified aroma-therapist is advisable for guidance.

Carrier Oil Guidelines

Natural food shops or bath and body stores that specialize in natural products will offer conventional carrier oils for use in diluting essential oils for use as topicals on the skin. Those carriers deemed to be cold-pressed or organic are the recommendation with examples such as apricot kernel, sweet almond, avocado, jojoba, grapeseed. These don’t offer a strong smell on their own and should be kept cold until use (in the refrigerator) and discarded if they become rancid. Typically, these substances will last up to a year when kept in the fridge.  Ne mindful of potential risks with the chemical as advised at http://www.webmd.com/beauty/news/20180813/essential-oils-promise-help-but-beware-the-risks.

Lavender is among the very few that can go undiluted on small places of the skin. Pure lavender has benefits for cuts or minor burns or, when inhaled, promotes sleep and relaxation.

Fashion Nova × FTC

Online fashion retailer Fashion Nova will pay $9.3 million to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that it didn’t properly notify consumers and give them the chance to cancel their orders when it failed to ship merchandise in a timely manner, and that it illegally used gift cards to compensate consumers for unshipped merchandise instead of providing refunds.

Under the terms of Fashion Nova’s proposed settlement with the FTC, the money will be used to refund consumers who were harmed by the company’s violations.

The FTC’s complaint against Fashion Nova alleges that it violated the agency’s Mail, Internet, Or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule (the Mail Order Rule), which applies to merchandise sold to consumers online, by mail, or by phone.

“The same rules that we have enforced for nearly 50 years against catalogers and other mail-order companies also apply to online sellers,” said Andrew Smith, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection.  “Online retailers need to know that our Mail Order Rule requires them to notify customers in the event of shipping delays and offer the right to cancel with a full refund—not just a gift card or a store credit.”

According to the complaint, Fashion Nova violated the Rule in two ways. First, the company made clear promises to consumers for years that they offer fast shipping of their products. This includes using phrases like “Fast Shipping,” “2-Day Shipping,” and “Expect Your Items Quick!” In fact, the company regularly failed to meet its shipping promises to consumers, and failed to meet the Mail Order Rule’s requirement that consumers be notified of shipping delays and given the chance to cancel orders and receive prompt refunds.

The complaint also alleges that Fashion Nova at times failed to refund consumers for the items that it did not ship. Instead, it was the company’s policy to issue gift cards, which are not considered refunds under the Mail Order Rule. The company also failed to cancel orders and provide refunds when it did not offer consumers delay option notices.

Under the terms of the proposed settlement, Fashion Nova will be required to pay $9.3 million to be used to refund consumers who were harmed by the company’s violations of the Mail Order Rule. Of that, $7.04 million will be sent to the FTC for use in refunding consumers and $2.26 million must be refunded directly by the company to consumers. Consumers who received gift cards instead of refunds when the company violated the Mail Order Rule will be eligible for refunds under the settlement.

The settlement also prohibits Fashion Nova from any further violations of the Mail Order Rule, and requires the company to ship ordered merchandise within one day of receipt of an order when the company doesn’t specify a shipping date.

The Commission vote authorizing the staff to file the complaint and proposed stipulated order was 5-0. The FTC filed the complaint and final judgment in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.

NOTE: The Commission files a complaint when it has “reason to believe” that the named defendants are violating or are about to violate the law and it appears to the Commission that a proceeding is in the public interest. Stipulated orders have the force of law when approved and signed by the District Court judge.

The Federal Trade Commission works to promote competition, and protect and educate consumers. DONNA LEAH DESIGNS

“The world of fashion, and the power that colors and textures have creating a mood have been with me from a very young age,” explains Donna Leah, when talking about the launch of her new brand, Donna Leah Designs. “I’ve always felt that sparkle and glamour should be enjoyed from the moment we wake up until after dark. Getting dressed in what we love is a great way to start the day with a positive vibe and makes me feel like I can accomplish anything. I am my own superhero.”

A graduate of New York’s famed Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), the American designer chose to base her brand in Miami where the dynamic energy of the city sparks her concepts. The brand was founded on a vision of empowerment and the need to be distinctive. A signature element of the brand is coordinating shawls that can be interpreted as a cape for women who embrace their individuality and are their own superhero.

Founded in late 2018, the brand launched with a collection of evening gowns inspired by the power of nature and the divine. Blues are a reminder of the ocean and the sky, greens and golds are the color of precious gems and lush foliage. “Heaven,” Donna Leah’s favorite piece, features a stunning sequins gown with a matching cape in mauve, a color she identifies with love and passion.

Now that people are spending more time at home, the designer has launched a line of loungewear inspired by her gowns, which incorporates Donna Leah’s love of metallics in bright shades of blues, pinks, and purples. The cape in the designer’s gowns has been translated into a hood for the loungewear collection. All pieces feel powerful, yet feminine, with bold colors and textures that act as a unifying statement for the brand.

Launching later this year will be a special series of designer statement t-shirts. Donna Leah explains, “I love making a statement and so much of us want to assert our feelings in a powerful way. While this is not a new concept, Donna Leah Designs is taking a unique approach that will resonate with women who have ageless style and are confident in their ideas.”

The reason for Donna Leah’s steady growing buzz is straightforward: the styles make a strong statement while being glamorous and unique at the same time. After completing several seasonal collections, including evening gowns, ready-to-wear, handbags, and accessories, Donna Leah is finding an audience for her pieces in the entertainment industry. She has shown her collections at the Grammy Awards and Oscars in 2019, and numerous celebrities are fans of her brand including Tanya Tucker, Cindy Lauper, Aerosmith, Roots, Cheap Trick, and Sharon Osbourne.

For all things Donna Leah Designs ho HERE.

Rence – Tears in December

Indie-Pop Whiz RENCE Releases “Tears In December” + Animal Crossing-Inspired “Type 2” Video

NEW SINGLE FOLLOWS SLEW OF BUZZING TRACKS AND VIDEOS FROM THE 2020 ARTIST TO WATCH

Today, genre-defying singer, songwriter and producer Rence unleashes his latest single “Tears In December.”  Get it HERE via Epic Records

The track begins with a creaky guitar and echoey beats as his breathy vocals exhale confessional verses. The energy organically blooms into the quotable refrain—“Sick of the sound of my heart hitting the ground”—before the vibe turns on a dime into a lonely late-night dancefloor singalong. The song takes inspiration from Rence’s own journey and come-up, having made the decision in December of 2019 to move from New York to Los Angeles.

“Tears in December chronicles my personal life following some major changes I underwent recently, including moving back out west from New York,” says Rence. “I thought I needed to leave my old home (and person) behind to start fresh in an exciting new city, but once I got here I realized pretty quickly that I was wrong. This song is that realization. I sing the lyrics to someone very special to me that I made the mistake of leaving, but beyond that interpersonal relationship, I wrote the lyrics to remind myself not to be too quick to move on and forget the past. That past is precisely what got me to where I am and what will help me continue to move forward. In the lyrics I say ‘sick of the sound of my heart hitting the ground,’ but a big piece of that sentiment is the realization that I was the one breaking my own heart. That heartbreak found it’s way into my songs for a while – especially because I’m always trying to be honest and authentic in what I create – and I was just sick of hearing it.”

Rence continues to unveil new music and exciting visuals at a steady pace. Earlier this week, he dropped a tripped-out official video for “Patience,” taken from his Fall 2019 EP.  It followed on the heels an acoustic video for the song where he performed on his front porch accompanied by a solo keyboardist. The latter illuminated his raw, unfiltered talent with a showstopping rendition of the tune. Earlier this month, he released an Animal Crossing video for his most recent single, “Type 2.” It cuts together footage of his Animal Crossing: New Horizons avatar to bounce of the track, bringing the song to life Nintendo Switch-style. Meanwhile, “Type 2” nears half-a-million streams in Spotify in addition to earning critical applause. Lyrical Lemonade claimed, “‘Type 2’ is the perfect example of why Rence is one of the most promising vocalists in the music industry right now.”

Capitalizing on the momentum sparked by the release of his Fall 2019 EP, Rence has received much acclaim and accolades. Pigeons & Planes named him among  “Best New Artists” while his breakout single “Expensive” [feat. Noah Cyrus] recently surpassed 6 million global streams. Having recently wrapped a North American tour with Christian French, Rence has gone on to received looks and acclaim from the likes of Nylon, i-D, The FADER, Billboard, Paper and more.

About Rence

Sharing real life snapshots in song, Rence magnifies his personal perspective through a genre-less palette, bordering pop, alternative, electro, indie and hip-hop all at once, yet never dipping into one for too long. He introduced himself on the breakthrough independent project, Pink. The lead single “Baby Blue” racking up nearly 10 million streams. Peers such as Chelsea Cutler and FLETCHER lent support as critical acclaim came from Hilly Dilly, Lyrical Lemonade, Ones To Watch, Elevator Magazine, and more. Tastemaker Zane Lowe handpicked “Ways To Go” as his “World Record” on Apple Music’s Beats 1.

Duke Dumont’s Debut – “Duality’

DUKE DUMONT UNVEILS DEBUT ALBUM DUALITY

THE 10 TRACK RELEASE INCLUDES HIT SINGLES “THERAPY,” “THE POWER” AND “LET ME GO”

BUY/STREAM DUALITY HERE

Multi-platinum hit-maker Duke Dumont has released his highly anticipated debut album DUALITY. Listen HERE.

Channeling his years of experience into a cohesive record that epitomizes his core beliefs, DUALITY is an honest, cathartic expression of Dumont’s desire to embody the mentality of a true artist, liberated from genre specifics and scored with his own sonic fingerprint.

With the LP split into two halves – one dancefloor-oriented and one introspective – it’s heart on sleeve, vocal house record “Therapy” opens proceedings, a track that was released as a single at the start of the year. Next up is club anthem “The Power,” a collaboration with UK singer-songwriter Zak Abel that was also released as a single, and “Obey,” a cut that sees Dumont link up with New Jersey artist Roland Clark. With no fewer than six collaborations across the LP, “The Fear” and “Nightcrawler” then feature US singer, songwriter and pianist Niia and Australian duo Say Lou Lou respectively.

The second half of the record is where Dumont’s more introspective and personal tracks blossom. There is an appearance from Colorado singer-singer songwriter How to Dress Well on “Together,” before latest single “Let Me Go” an emotion-drenched track stitched together with the soaring vocals of Australian artist Ry X, closes things out in the most poignant way possible.

The ten-track release is a long-player in the traditional sense, produced to be listened to in its entirety, rather than a collection of radio-friendly singles. Besides his own production and vocal features, the album incorporates live string arrangements, guitar players, drummers, and piano keys.

A production dynamo responsible for a stunning back catalogue that includes international chart-topping hits, multi-Grammy nominations and bumpin’ Chicago-influenced underground productions, Dumont is a contemporary electronic music powerhouse. He has amassed over 2.5 billion streams across his back-catalogue of previous anthems, scoring platinum-selling UK #1s with timeless records such as “Ocean Drive.”

A career-affirming release, DUALITY is a staggering album and the culmination of all of Duke Dumont’s previous work.

The Fear (feat. Niia)

Duke Dumont is a contemporary electronic music powerhouse. Deeply committed to creating high quality music imbued with emotional depth, Dumont is versatile, extremely adept and hard working. His illustrious career has taken him on tour around the world, many times over, and placed him in the top tier of electronic music artists of his ilk.

Since 2007 Duke Dumont has channeled his deep love for electronic music into a variety of acclaimed releases, moving through pumping electro and vibrant techno to conquer the UK charts with “Need U 100%.” His early releases on Tiga’s Turbo Recordings helped establish his reputation for producing high quality club music that moves the dance floor, physically and emotionally. By 2012 he’d produced two career-defining EPs – For Club Use, Vol 1 and For Club Use, Vol 2. Tracks like “The Giver” cemented Dumont’s rep for catchy hooks, precision arrangement and powerful emotion. A year later he hit the No.1 spot in the UK charts with “Need U (100%) (featuring A*M*E),” demonstrating his ability to merge classic house motifs with first-rate songwriting.

“Need U (100%)” was followed with another UK No.1 “I Got U,” both songs achieving platinum sales. Between 2013 and 2020 he hit the Billboard Dance Chart No.1 with seven singles, including “The Power,” “Won’t Look Back” and “Ocean Drive.” With each release Duke Dumont stayed true to his club roots, achieving widespread success.

Ashton Travis × Chase B – “CASINO”

ASHTON TRAVIS & CHASE B RELEASE NEW SINGLE “CASINO”

LISTEN HERE

“The song is its own acid trip of pure feeling, melody and memory…equally forlorn and uplifting. It’s a vibe that keeps you undoubtedly on edge, in the best way.”

“Ashton Travis has the buttery vocals that could make just about anything sound appealing.”

“Armed with a sharp, melodic set of deliveries, the liveliness and determination behind this offering act as an unbreakable foundation for Travis’ career.”

ABOUT ASHTON TRAVIS:
Ashton Travis is from the best city in the world. He knows he’s biased, but the charming poet-turned-singer from Houston, TX is more than sentimental about his hometown—he has the facts to make his case. “Houston has a strong style and culture, from music, to food, style, the cars we drive, and some of the most beautiful black people in the world; We’re champions in sports, and we put out legendary music acts from DJ Screw to Beyonce to Ashton Travis,” he boasts. To Ashton, being from Houston means having an ear for “slow, loud and banging” beats oozing from the stereos of unhurried cars on gravel roads—vehicles affectionately known as slabs. In that regard, Ashton’s sound is uniquely Houston. You feel it just as much as you hear it, his catchy, soulful melodies over atmospheric production firmly rooting him within a legacy of music talent from the city.

Born to parents from Guyana and Antigua, Ashton was a curious kid with a wandering mind. His father brought him to barbershops where he would see the old school Cadillacs and hear the bass-heavy chopped and screwed hip-hop so quintessential to Houston. Growing up in their Seventh-day Adventist household, Ashton went to church every weekend and followed the Sabbath. With friends, he played basketball, rode bikes along the bayous, and made pseudo professional mixtapes that they would burn to CDs and pass around. A poet at heart, Ashton was a member of the city’s National Poetry Slam team and grew up writing stanzas before turning his focus to lyrics. After watching his cousin make beats on Fruity Loops, he was encouraged to write raps.

For Ashton, his curiosity was rooted in a desire to see the world. Ashton went to Howard University, making a name for himself on campus before dropping out to pursue music full-time. His wanderlust took him to Los Angeles and New York City, but forging a path as an artist wasn’t without its challenges. Fast forward to today, and Ashton is more confident than ever in his gift. A self-described overthinker, Ashton’s songs explore the complexities of relationships and the depths of his mind, from dreams to aspirations, fears and insecurities. “I want people to empathize because I feel like I’m empathizing through my music—I’m talking not just for myself,” he says.

Ashton’s debut EP Almost There is born from the perspective of someone seeing life with new eyes. “Since that day, it’s like I’ve been reborn or something,” he says about a recent encounter with death that shed new light on his life. Single “Death Row”, an excavation and release of inner demons left unaddressed, speaks most clearly to Ashton’s newfound outlook. “I’ve overthought a lot of things and I’ve held myself back from different opportunities because I’ve been living in my mind, worried, focusing on what could be,” he confesses. “With the music I have now, it just feels like a collection of songs that scream I’m here, I’m alive, I’m happy to be alive, and I’ma talk about shit that moves my spirit, hoping that it moves the next person’s spirit that listens to it because we ain’t got all day. We could be dead tomorrow.”

Lila Iké – I Spy

One of Jamaica’s fastest rising stars Lila Iké storms into 2020 with “I Spy,” her first single and video this year. Watch/Listen to “I Spy” HEREOn the heels of her freshly-inked signing to RCA Records—in conjunction with In.Digg.Nation Collective and Six Course Records —“I Spy” is Lila Iké’s inaugural single through the major label and serves as a prelude to her debut 7-track EP The ExPerience, which will be released May 15.

The making of “I Spy” was an organic process which is akin to how Lila naturally creates. IzyBeats, who earned a GRAMMY award for his contribution to Koffee’s “Toast,” is at the helm of the song. “When Izy played the beat in the studio I just heard this ‘chek, chek’ and then this specific drum pattern that is familiar in Jamaican culture, so I started pacing the room and singing the chorus ‘I Spy, I Spy.’ Izy was like ‘Oh my god, that is it!’ I felt his energy, so it pushed me to go further and it blossomed into what it is today. I am really excited how it turned out and confident it will open new markets for me. It is going to be beautiful.”

The accompanying video is directed by Danny Williams and was filmed in Kingston, Jamaica with cameos from her crew including labelmate Sevana, Jaz Elise and Naomi Cowan.

Also joining Lila Iké on her anticipated EP The ExPerience is a cast of Jamaica’s most in-demand producers. Phillip “Winta” James, known for his work with Protoje, Nas & Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley and Mortimer, produced “Forget Me” and “Stars Align.”  A trio of the island’s most promising young beatmakers, Ziah x JLL x Iotosh, are responsible for “Solitude.” Behind the boards is also GRAMMY-nominated artist Protoje, who executive produced The ExPerience, and is credited for crafting the sound of “Thy Will,” which is influenced by Sly and Robbie’s “More Baltimore.”

In 2019, the multi-talented Lila Iké ascended through a string of songs that fused contemporary reggae with elements of soul, hip-hop, and dancehall. “Where I’m Coming From” (produced by Kasadie “Caspa” Jones) and “Second Chance” (produced by Alfred Simpson) were two pivotal songs that put the songstress on the map. Both tracks will be featured on her upcoming EP. With only a handful of singles under her belt, she has earned critical acclaim fromComplex, BBC 1xtra, NYLON, Flaunt, Essence, The FADER and Refinery29 as an artist to watch. While on tour with Protoje, she left a lasting impression on audiences at Reggae Sumfest (Montego Bay, Jamaica), and BRIC’s Celebrate Brooklyn! (NYC, USA), plus she commanded the spotlight on Europe’s most-coveted reggae stages, including her own primetime slot at the genre’s largest worldwide festival Rototom Sunsplash (Benicassim, Spain).

The spotlight shines brighter on Lila Iké as she pivots from Jamaica’s independent singing sensation to global superstardom guided by her natural talents, co-signed by In.Digg.Nation Collective, Six Course Records and RCA Records. Lila Iké’s endearing tone can be felt in every word she sings, displaying equal amounts of vulnerability and dominance in her signature vibrato. While her early hits are foundational elements of her debut, The ExPerience is lush with a wave of new anthems that tread through the thick, potent smoke of introspection and intimacy. “Solitude” relishes silence and peace-of-mind in a sea of a wobbling bass and whisks of guitar and violin. On “Stars Align,” Lila Iké creatively juggles relationships as a metaphor for music-making while spraying her lyrics like a fresh coat of paint on Winta James’ “Bout Noon” beat, originally sung by Protoje.

“It is an experience of me, showing my versatility and the different tones, values and vibes of a woman,” Lila says about her debut EP. “This is a mixture of songs influenced by reggae, but it does not define the sound. It has trap dancehall on “Where I’m Coming From” and soulful vibes on “Forget Me.” It gets sweet and jazzy on “Stars Align” and “I Spy” has this reggaeton and pop feel. It is a beautiful time for this kind of music to come from Jamaica, we are showing people there is no linear way of anything,” declares Lila Iké.

Lila Iké will reveal the artwork for her debut EP The ExPerience at a later date.

Her new single “I Spy” is available now on all platforms.
