Inspired by her summers in Málaga, a place that has seen many of her creative processes, Juana Martín returns to this city to create “Orígenes.” The blue of its beaches, its people and the harmony of its land are embodied in this collection that, according to the designer’s words, “is designed for an elegant and transgressive woman, who dares to take another step towards evolution and personal development.”

Also, in the “Orígenes” fashion show were presenting accessories such as the Christian Louboutin shoes, Nadia Chellaoui bags and Plata Pura goldsmith work. Gucci’s Deliciarum High Jewelry via 360 MAGAZINE.

Gucci’s Hortus Deliciarum

Gucci is adding an exclusive selection of new pieces to its Hortus Deliciarum High Jewelry collection to be presented on January 24, 2023, during Paris Haute Couture at the House’s Place Vendôme boutique.

Hortus Deliciarum — meaning ‘Garden of Delights’ in Latin — blends Gucci’s rich heritage in Italian craftsmanship and its ever-distinctive creativity in one-of-a-kind masterpieces distinguished by unique artistry, exceptional quality, and acute attention to detail. The current chapter, the third since the collection’s launch in 2019, draws inspiration from the world of travel and the memorable moments that every journey can bring.

The new additions to the Hortus Deliciarum collection include necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and multi-finger rings, divided into different themes. The designs explore tantalizing facets of the natural and animal kingdom, placing jewelry artistry center stage. These pieces evoke distant, exotic, and magical worlds, exciting the imagination with Gucci’s signature painterly approach to high jewelry craftsmanship.

A selection of pieces features fresh interpretations of Gucci’s distinctive Lion Head and Tiger Head motifs, symbolizing strength, courage, and passion. Flawless, fancy cut vivid gemstones, from aquamarines to yellow sapphires, add vibrant touches to these dynamic designs.

The collection includes several new creations showcasing a captivating combination of multicolored stones that are inspired by the concept of prismatic beauty and specifically designed to catch the light. These include a brilliant multi-finger ring – the result of 100 hours of meticulous production – crafted in yellow gold with a beautiful 38.8 carat green tourmaline centerpiece surrounded by diamonds. An equally stunning yellow gold cuff earring offers an elegant explosion of garnets, yellow beryl, rubellite, and diamonds. Here, Gucci blends the modernity of a cuff style with the exquisite beauty of warm-toned gems and dainty, flowing lines.

Other stunning pieces are distinguished by cascades of dancing diamonds, inspired by the beauty of shooting stars and the sparkling torrents of a waterfall. A highlight of this selection is a parure comprising a dazzling white gold necklace and matching drop earrings. Involving 300 hours of production, the necklace features diamond-embellished starbursts trimmed with lady-like diamond bows, while the earrings reveal diamond-encrusted bows and chandelier-like crystal droplets around two teardrop cut diamonds with a total of 16.7 carats.

A yellow gold bracelet, meanwhile, showcases a diamond-embellished chevron pattern and an oval-shaped 16 carat rubellite tourmaline, offering a striking geometric interplay of straight lines and smooth curves. This exceptional creation takes 200 hours to produce.

Intricately crafted and full of surprising details, an ornate diamond parure pays homage to the majestic beauty of natural landscapes. A diamond-encrusted geometric chain necklace is teamed with a stunning round-cut mandarin garnet pendant embellished with dainty emerald leaves. This can be teamed with a matching pair of jacket earrings, also in fresh and surprising shades of green and mandarin, offering a dazzling 40.5 carats of jewels for the necklace and 15.3 carats for the earrings.

To complete the collection, new diamond-embellished solitaire rings shine in an array of hues that resemble the changing colors of the sky. A sculpted, white gold design mesmerizes with a hexagonal 14.7 carat tanzanite centerpiece, while three other white gold rings each present a heart-shaped gemstone in a vivid color: a 9 carat blue tourmaline, a 12.6 carat peach tourmaline, or an 11.5 carat pink tourmaline.

The Hortus Deliciarum High Jewelry collection, launched in Paris in 2019, was followed by a second chapter presented on Italy’s Lake Maggiore in 2021 while the third and current collection was initially unveiled in Rome in 2022.

Def Jam appoints Kardinal Offishall as Global A&R via 360 MAGAZINE.

Def Jam appoints Kardinal Offishall as Global A&R

Award-winning artist and producer Kardinal Offishall has been appointed as Global A&R for iconic record label Def Jam, and will be working directly with CEO Tuni Balogun and EVP LaTrice Burnette.

In his new groundbreaking role, he will sign and help elevate talent from around the world. “I feel incredibly blessed to be able to work with the new faces of Def Jam. I grew up on all the legendary music that had a home here. From LL Cool J and DMX to Benny the Butcher and 2 Chainz, the company has an incredible legacy and I’m looking forward to working with the new superstars, as well as the incredible legacy acts,” says the respected music executive and multi-platinum selling artist about working for the most-followed major label on all major social media platforms that has expanded to include labels in the UK, France, Africa, India and Southeast Asia.

Kardinal Offishall became a staple in the international music scene in the late 2000s with features on hit records such as Akon’s “Beautiful”, Lady Gaga’s “Just Dance” and his own single “Dangerous” which scorched the Billboard Hot 100 charts and peaked in the Top 5, making him the first rapper from Canada to do so. He participated early on in the careers of Rihanna, Alex Da Kid, T-Pain, Vybz Kartel, Estelle, and Sean Paul, to name a few. He is also a cultural and musical ambassador for a new wave of Canadian superstars, working with Drake, K’naan, Daniel Caesar, Boi-1da, and Glenn Lewis. Over the last decade, Kardinal diversified his portfolio by adding Executive to his Rapper, Producer and Philanthropist repertoire. Outside of his role finding and signing the global stars of today and tomorrow, Kardinal is also a judge on Canada’s Got Talent, the world’s greatest talent competition and global talent show brand. Last year the show became Citytv’s biggest original series of the past decade, attracting about 1.4 million viewers per episode.

Working for the legendary Def Jam Recordings label allows Kardinal to help grow and compliment the cutting-edge label that launched stars like LL Cool J, Slick Rick, The Beastie Boys and Public Enemy, and established its dominance with a range of superstar acts like Jay-Z, DMX, Rihanna, Pusha T, Big Sean, and Jeremih, among many many others. “Big up to Tunji, LaTrice, Eric Hutcherson, Michelle Anthony, Sir Lucian and the entire UMG family who helped make this happen. I will physically be in the US and across the globe on a regular basis, as per usual, but Toronto will always be home. Been working…and I can’t wait for y’all to see what we have cooking. Rocking wit’ the winning team!”

COCA-COLA × RECYCLED RECORDS

The Coca-Cola Company Partners with Musical Legends Mark Ronson and Madlib to Launch “Recycled Records

The Campaign Launches with an Original EP, Curated Sound Library and Audio Mixer – All Featuring the Sounds of Recycling – to Celebrate Sprite, Fresca and Seagram’s Transition from Green to Clear Plastic

The Coca-Cola Company announces it has teamed up with two of the most legendary names in the history of music sampling, Mark Ronson and Madlib, to bring a bold musical experiment to life with the launch of “Recycled Records.”

The campaign introduces an original EP made up of the sounds taken from the bottle-to-bottle recycling process, alongside a versatile sound library and engaging short film. Not only will fans be able to listen to these uniquely made tracks, but they’ll also be able to re-mix the very same sound library used by the two musical legends into innovative compositions of their own through an interactive digital beat machine.

“Sampling is an artform which is constantly regenerating. The tiniest sound, whether from an old record or from the world around us, can inspire an entire piece of music. I learnt from my heroes, DJ Premier and Q-Tip, who all made incredible albums from sampling and it’s stayed an integral part of my work up until today,” said GRAMMY®-award winning producer and sampling master Mark Ronson

A sound sample is to music as clear plastic is to recycling. The process of music sampling is ongoing; an old sound is used in a new track, which is flipped again into a newer track, and so on. When green plastic is recycled, it is usually turned into single-use items that do not get recycled again – so, it was time for a moment of clarity. Now Sprite, Fresca and Seagram’s clear plastic bottles increase the likelihood of them being remade into new bottles.

“A great sample doesn’t have to come from other music, it just has to make you move,” said award-winning pioneer producer and legendary artist, Madlib, also known as the “Loop Digga,” “Quasimoto” and many other aliases. “The thud of a plastic bottle going through a recycling facility is, in its own way, a piece of art, it has the ability to transform. Being able to take sounds from the recycling process that are so different from what I’ve used in the past, and flipping it into a whole new format, is a great example of the versatility of sound. Now any cat has the opportunity to make some dope sounds of their own.”

To learn more, fans can look to critically acclaimed artist and female pioneer of rap, MC Lyte, who narrates a documentary-style short film that draws a clear connection between the heritage and spirit of music sampling and the closed loop recycling process. The captivating film, filled with rich soundscapes, imaginative beats and riveting visuals, showcases the creative process behind “Recycled Records” including extensive sound recordings at recycling facilities nationwide and a fascinating glimpse into the studios of Mark Ronson and Madlib.

“The Coca-Cola Company is thrilled to have teamed up with Mark Ronson and Madlib to celebrate our portfolio’s transition from green to clear plastic. This sonic partnership is part of The Coca-Cola Company’s broader World Without Waste goals,” said Kurt Ritter, Vice President and General Manager, Sustainability, The Coca-Cola Company North America. “We’re excited about the switch because it increases the amount of high-quality, food-grade recycled plastic available in the marketplace and ultimately allows our brands to use more recycled plastic in their packaging.”

Packaging innovation alone will not solve the plastic waste crisis. While the transition away from green plastic is one of many steps needed to drive a circular economy, The Coca-Cola Company recognizes it has a responsibility to keep evolving its process, and this is just one of the steps the company is taking to do so.

Starting December 14th, consumers can join in on the magic of multiple uses by watching the film and taking the Recycled Records beat machine for a spin to create their own musical compositions at www.cokeurl.com/greentoclear.

ABOUT JAMES ARTHUR

With James Arthur, the numbers speak for themselves. Thirty million records sold via three albums, the second, 2016’s Back from The Edge, a Number One, the others (James Arthur, 2013; YOU, 2019) platinum and gold sellers respectively. A collaboration with Sigala, ‘Lasting Lover’, was a Top 10 single and Number One airplay track in the UK. In ‘Train Wreck’, a second album deep cut that, four years on from its release, is an ongoing TikTok viral phenom and a global hit with 310 million streams. And, of course, the ballad that roared. ‘Say You Won’t Let Go’, the global hit that brought the singer-songwriter from Middlesbrough back from the edge, is currently sitting at 1.6 billion streams on Spotify alone, becoming one of the most streamed tracks ever on the platform.

But also with James Arthur: he’s the first to admit that the numbers don’t really speak for themselves. Behind every gig, hit, stat, stream, like and share is a hinterland of hard graft, soul searching, song searching, self-doubt, self-discovery and, finally, now, recovery. You can hear as much in new single ‘Medicine’. The very first song in his very first writing session in lockdown, ‘Medicine’ is an uplifting ode to self, to relationships, to community and connection, and to the healing, restorative powers of love over adversity. It is, you might say, the perfect song for spring 2021. Key lyric: “You come and make me better than I’ve ever been.” “Lockdown forced any couple to look at themselves,” he begins. “It held a mirror up to us all, didn’t it? And my partner was hugely supportive through that whole time. There are some pretty dark lyrics in there: ‘When I’m suicidal, you don’t let me spiral…’ But I had the mindset that this was going to be the best album I’d ever made, to look the best I’d ever looked, and come back and surprise people. I wasn’t going to be held back anymore, have my confidence wrecked, by wondering what people think about me.” “From day one there was a sound that I wanted to go for on this record. Even early on it sounded like a real album, a proper body of work. This is the first time I’ve made an album all in one place and you can hear this in the music. There’s something really comfortable about working in your own home with less people – I was able to be more vulnerable than ever.” And, complimenting his fresh musical direction, Arthur has been co-signed by Columbia UK and Columbia Germany who initially signed him in 2016.
