Raye – World Tour

RAYE has performed My 21st Century Blues as direct support for SZA, Kali Uchis, and Lewis Capaldi’s respective sold out 2023 world tours. The second installment of her headline world tour continues with 45 dates across North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia including upcoming stints in Nashville, Atlanta, St. Louis, Seattle, Vancouver, and more before wrapping in Los Angeles on November 7th. Tickets are currently available via rayeofficial.com.

A No. 2 album in the UK, My 21st Century Blues was a decade in the making and marked RAYE’s debut as an independent artist. On her own terms, RAYE gave space for listeners who have faced and overcome adversity, with anthems for women in the industry that recounted her own painful experiences with sexual abuse, rape, body dysmorphia, addiction, misogyny, and even climate change. The album was nominated for “Best Independent Album” at the AIM Independent Music Awards and was one of only 12 albums selected as a finalist for the 2023 Mercury Music Prize.

RAYE is currently vying for No. 1 on this week’s Official UK Singles Chart with her latest global smash “Prada.” A collaboration with Casso and D Block Europe, the viral track is an exhilarating new take on the 2020 single “Ferrari Horses.” She has also recorded the theme song, “Mother Nature,” for BBC’s Planet Earth III with legendary composer Hans Zimmer and chart-topping UK band Bastille – WATCH HERE.

RAYE is riding high from the continued success of her inescapable global hit “Escapism.”, which peaked at No. 1 on the UK Official Singles Chart and has been certified RIAA Platinum in the US and 9 other territories. The track has since accumulated over 1 billion streams worldwide and remains the second biggest selling single of the year in the UK where it’s won “Best Social Trended Song” at The Global Awards, “Best Contemporary Song” at the Ivor Novello Awards, and “Best Independent Track” at the AIM Independent Music Awards. “Escapism.” also earned RAYE her highest-peaking song on the Billboard Hot 100 (No. 22) and topped TikTok’s viral music chart where it boasts 110 million views.

RAYE was recently shot for British Vogue and was named one of the title’s Top 25 Women of the Year in its Vogue 25 list.

LANDSCAPE ARCHITECTURE OF THE YEAR

Phase Shifts Park by Mosbach Paysagistes

Phase Shifts Park proposes a dialogue between soil and air, culture and nature, across 230 hectares. It forges interactions between environments and populations. The design invests in lithosphere design, encompassing water, topography, and soil, combined with atmosphere design, addressing factors like heat, humidity, and pollution. The result is a diverse landscape that distributes comfortable ‘niches,’ featuring 11 resorts. The atmosphere’s performance is emphasized by the lithosphere resources, which provide leisure lands, sports areas, and play areas. Urban traffic is partially incorporated into the park’s subsoil, ensuring continuous flow over a 2.7km stretch from South to North. The hills establish a framework that offers vast continuities, intimacy, and protection.

Greubel Forsey’s GMT BALANCIER CONVEXE via 360 MAGAZINE.

GMT BALANCIER CONVEXE

GREUBEL FORSEY REIMAGINES THE (WATCHMAKING) UNIVERSE

Could this be a return to geocentrism? With the new GMT Balancier Convexe, Greubel Forsey places the Earth back at the centre of its universe. This new GMT calibre replaces all previous GMT models and features, for the first time, its signature inclined balance wheel, as if in orbit around the Earth. A construction whose aesthetic architecture is matched only by its technical mastery and which confirms Greubel Forsey’s resolutely contemporary approach to Fine Watchmaking.

The Earth may no longer be the centre of the universe, as thought by Aristotle through Copernicus, but it is at the centre of Greubel Forsey’s new GMT Balancier Convexe. The perfect titanium sphere with its continents, seas and oceans, is one of the Atelier’s most emblematic creations. It was the centrepiece of the GMT, GMT Earth, GMT Quadruple Tourbillon and GMT Sport, some of Greubel Forsey’s greatest successes to date. Today, Greubel Forsey is dedicating a brand new calibre to the Terrestrial globe, decisively replacing its predecessors. It is the purest and most contemporary interpretation of the GMT complication ever imagined, deeply rooted in the universe of the brand as well as in Haute Horlogerie.

AN EARTHLY AMPHITHEATRE

The Earth is showcased majestically, positioned at the very heart of an amphitheatre-like construction. Flush with the sapphire crystal, almost close enough to the surface to touch, it moves in a constant 24-hour rotation, just as the Earth rotates in real life. This amphitheatre is bordered by three rings which indicate two complementary times: hours and minutes local time, as well as universal time.
The 24 time zones displaying universal time are set against a black background if the time indicated is at night, and on a white background during the day time.

Local time is indicated on the two outer rings: one for the hours on a grey satin-finished ring, and minutes on a thin black outer ring. Each time indication has its own hand with a red triangular tip filled with luminescent material. These hands move on two further rings, engraved with key words dear to the Atelier, to display GMT. Finally, an off-centre display at 10 o’clock indicates a second time zone with a blue gold hand.
For the caseback of the timepiece, Greubel Forsey opted to keep the disc with 24 time zones indicating the UTC time of the 24 reference cities, but with a rather appropriate modification: the UTC of Paris has been replaced by the city where Greubel Forsey has been established since its early days: La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland.

HAND FINISHING PAR EXCELLENCE

The beating heart of the timepiece, appreciated by collectors for its remarkable chronometric performance, is a spectacular sight. Once again, Greubel Forsey stuns with its level fine craftmanship. The 30° inclined balance wheel, seemingly suspended in mid-air, is held by a beautiful flat black polished and barrel polished steel balance wheel bridge on polished steel pillars. To its right, the small seconds, displayed with a blue gold hand completes the ensemble.

The titanium bridges, which serve as the æsthetic backdrop for this horological spectacle, are hand-finished with a steel brush and take on a frosted texture never before applied by Greubel Forsey. The delicate frosted surfaces catch the light and accentuate the globe, which remains the protagonist of the arena.

Finally, the inside of the case is polished so that it mirrors the escapement platform, the Terrestrial globe, and nearly every element visible on the dial side, thus adding incredible depth to this new construction.

SIGNATURE CONVEX CASE

This theatrical composition takes place within the signature convex case designed by Greubel Forsey. Made of titanium and with a diameter of 46.5mm around the bezel and 43.5mm around the caseband, it hugs the curve of the wrist perfectly. It also represents the major technical feat of achieving a movement that follows an imperceptible slope of just a few degrees. The sapphire crystal and satin-finished bezel follow the same curved geometry, which extends onto either a titanium bracelet or a textured rubber strap.

Greubel Forsey will only make 66 GMT Balancier Convexe timepieces: 22 per year between 2022 and 2024.

ARVINO Launches the Molten Collection

Inspired by perseverance, the Molten Collection’s uneven lines and textures celebrate the beauty in embracing hardship.

New York, NY. July 17, 2023. Adversity is a building block of transformative power and awareness. Thriving despite it, breeds strength and self-confidence—the ultimate accessory. For many, jewels remind them of where they have been. They are the most meaningful talismans. ARVINO’S newly launched Molten Collection is a homage to this journey.

ARVINO Designer, Arvind, says, “We all learn something from perseverance and triumph. Let this collection inspire you and remind you that no matter how bumpy the road gets, you can always rise above it and shine like a star.”

In his Molten Collection, uneven textures and curves convey this story of passion. Baroque pearls are elegantly combined with 18K gold vermeil on sterling silver, using recycled metals. Pearls symbolize a soul’s journey, as well as harmony and humility. Affordable and luxurious, the Molten Collection is the perfect gift for a loved one who is growing, or as a celebration for one’s warrior self.

The collection features three necklaces, four bracelet styles, two earrings and two rings. The Baroque Pearl Melted Necklace has a captivating design. Known for its irregular shape and organic beauty, the necklace honors the allure of the baroque pearl. To match, or wear solo, the timeless Baroque Pearl Melted Bracelet complements the wrist. A play on words, the collection’s Foil Cuff, hoops and ring are symbolic of times when foiled circumstance turns around. The Molten Nugget Necklace sits boldly across the neck, as nuggets of opportunity, while the Molten Nugget Bracelet offers a more subtle symbol. For an everyday statement, the Duplet Layering Necklace features flattened pearls, layered with chain, perfect from day to night.

A reminder of possibility, the Molten Collection empowers the wearer to purse dreams with courage. Jewelry designed for the determined, each piece is a reminder to face obstacles with strength and to proudly stride.

“The Molten Collection celebrates all, with uneven, unique patterns, cuts, and lines. It radiates elegance and each shape narrates a different story—your story,” says Arvind Agarwal.

Rita Ora has released brand new single Don’t Think Twice. The release comeshot on the heels of her surprise appearance on stage with Fatboy Slim at Glastonbury and ahead of her performance at Pride Festival tomorrow in London.

Co-written by Rita and produced by Oak Felder, “Don’t Think Twice” follows the release of singles “You Only Love Me” and “Praising You” featuring Fatboy Slim, which have accumulatedover 80 million global steams to date. Inspired by Rita’s own experiences, it is an infectious, upbeat floor filler infusing carpe diem spirit with the beginning moments of a relationship.

Rita says: ““Don’t Think Twice is about not thinking twice and just jumping in, romantically. You only live once, so it’s really about seizing the moment, and not being held back by thoughts of what might or might not happen.”

The accompanying video, directed by Academy Award winner Taika Waititi, was shot in New Zealand. Laced with imagery and symbolism which evoke feelings associated with dreams, nightmares, and the spirit world, it sees Rita channelling Katherine from Wuthering Heights while trapped in a ghostly forest within a dystopian world.

“Don’t Think Twice” is thethird single to be released from Ora’s You & I – her first album release since inking a partnership with BMG, which will see her own all her future master recordings and enjoy artistic control in a way that she hasn’t had previously. Out 14th July, You & proves to be Ora’s most diaristic project yet. Working with executive producer Oak Felder (Ariana Grande, Nicki Minaj, Alicia Keys, Usher), Rita has created an album conceptually threaded together to signify the different chapters of her relationships with those she loves.

Rita Ora’s multi-platinum music career has won her commercial and critical acclaim with 13 UK Top 10 singles and four UK Number One singles.
