Dita Eyewear Collaboration

DITA EYEWEAR is thrilled to announce an exciting new collaboration with the ever-dazzling Queen of Burlesque, DITA VON TEESE, as they bring a fresh twist to iconic eyewear. The bridgeless cat-eye frame, rendered in lightweight titanium and appointed with contemporary details, represents the convergence of two creative talents at the peak of their influence.

Dita Von Teese is uniquely suited to the challenge of revitalizing the classically styled frames with an exquisite modern twist. “The cat-eye is a well-worn style, a silhouette that rarely transcends the era in which it was created,” she explained. “My goal was to keep within the spirit of the 1950’s, but to craft our version in a slick, new way as a secret weapon for the modern Femme Totale.”

High-end craftsmanship and technology from DITA EYEWEAR’s creative studio provided the tools to achieve a distinctive new shape for the landmark partnership. A slender expanse of titanium spans the brow in a single, sinuous line, stripping away extraneous elements for the illusion of a floating lens. Sculptural details, from the hinge mount to harlequin-point titanium temples, were inspired by selections from Von Teese’s vast collection of vintage couture and curiosities.

Von Teese herself will also appear in the season’s advertising campaign, “SEEING DOUBLE,” which shadows a mysterious encounter with a doppelgänger in a sultry noir atmosphere.

DITA EYEWEAR FOR DITA VON TEESE arrives November 1st, 2018 and will be available at DITA.COM, DITA flagships, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and other fine eyewear boutiques.

Co-written by Charli XCX and Madison, featuring Migos’ Offset, “Hurts Like Hell’’provides fans a glimpse of what’s to come from Beer’s debut album due for release in 2019.

On the new single Madison explains, “The song’s production feels really new to me — it’s got a vibe in the beat like I haven’t heard before. I love Charli XCX, so getting to work with her was really inspiring. Offset felt like the perfect fit for the track. He’s one of the most talented, professional, down to Earth artists I’ve ever worked with, and his verse absolutely kills it.”

“Hurts Like Hell” comes hot on the heels of the success of Madison’s previous single “Home With You”, which made music history when it peaked within the Top 20 of US Top 40 radio chart, making Beer the first independent female solo artist to ever do so.

Madison Beer is an independent artist breaking in a major way. Her debut EP, “As She Pleases” (which spawned “Home With You”, “Say It To My Face” and “Dead”), has notched up over 400 million combined streams since its release in February. This year has also seen Madison make her late-night debut on The Late Late Show With James Corden; feature in Billboard’s coveted “21 Under 21” list of top musicians in 2018; guest on David Guetta’s “7”album; perform alongside Liam Gallagher at Milan fashion Week A/W 2018; grace the covers of numerous magazines worldwide (including, most recently, Flaunt magazine); launch her own clothing collection (with leading online womenswear retailer missguided); and be enlisted as the face of a Bulgari fragrance campaign. All in addition performing live to an audience of 80 million viewers at the Riot Games World Championships Event last week in celebration of her feature on K/DA’s debut track “POP/STARS” which has topped iTunes charts in over 16 territories worldwide within 72 hours.

Madison Beer – who has partnered with First Access Entertainment and is distributed through AWAL – is a fully independent artist consistently praised for her trailblazing efforts and her passion for creating music that empowers listeners. Her huge, engaged and ever growing fanbase, (evident from her 2.6 million+ followers on Twitter, and eye-popping 10. 5 million+ on Instagram), regard her as a pioneer of the ‘Girl Boss’ generation.

Disney x Gigi Burris

In celebration of Mickey Mouse’s 90th birthday, New York milliner Gigi Burris launches a capsule collection interpreting through headwear an American icon, Mickey. Burris debuts today a nine-piece collection of felt hats and hair accessories that celebrate Mickey’s timeless style and color palette.

Raised in Central Florida with Walt Disney World essentially in her backyard, Burris was transfixed by Mickey Mouse from a young age—his unmistakable ears shaping more than just an unforgettable character, but also the dreams of a young, creative spirit. As a renowned milliner, Burris possesses a rare talent for taking the old and making it new, using centuries-old techniques to handcraft one-of-a-kind pieces that are all locally made in New York City.

The first place that Burris draws inspiration from are the two simple black circles on top of Mickey’s head that have become as recognizable as the mouse himself. Burris plays off this silhouette in her Icon Cap, which comes in red, yellow and black. Now three dimensional, this innovative piece is a wearable sculpture. The Icon, is a limited edition drop with 30 hand-numbered pieces per color. “I wanted to create a forward-thinking take on the ears that looks as welcome at Walt Disney World as it would on the streets of New York,” Burris explains.

For a more classic silhouette, Burris creates a black and red fedora, drawing inspiration from the period of Mickey Mouse’s inception in 1928. For this piece, the ears appear as subtle, black circles that add interest to the crown of the hat. Mickey’s black and white beginnings are referenced in an elegant veiled headband that features hand-applied sequins and Swarovski crystals on ears formed from hand-tacked French veiling.

To emphasize Mickey’s natural charm, Burris individually places a pattern of Swarovski gunmetal pearls and red crystals onto a luxe, gunmetal headband in the shape of his ear silhouette. Another accessory pays homage to Mickey’s iconic design and recognizable ears. Here, it is plated in 14 karat gold—a simple and chic way to portray Mickey’s hairline. “As a hat maker, I was drawn to what shapes Mickey’s face—the dramatic widow’s peak that punctuates his every expression.”

While Mickey’s ears are his trademark, the mouse has never shied away from headwear. He has always selected just the right topper to complement his most memorable looks. Burris is particularly inspired by the captain’s hat Mickey wears in his debut film, Disney’s Steamboat Willie, as well as the square brimmed hat Mickey puts on as a conductor in Disney’s The Band Concert.

These references are alluded to in the form of a lambskin leather Greek Fisherman’s hat, featuring Mickey’s signature white buttons and a subtle nod to his hairline stitched in white thread on the top of the cap. A cheery, red, square-brimmed hat is a modern update to a classic baseball cap, complete with three Disney x Gigi Burris pins—Mickey tipping his boater hat, the classic icon of Mickey’s ears, and an “M” for Mickey. This moment harkens back to the days when Burris, like many others, would leave Walt Disney World with a plethora of Mickey Mouse souvenirs and memories of another special day spent with the beloved mouse.

Each piece in this collection embodies what Burris and people everywhere love about Mickey Mouse— his playful mischief, his joy, his style and, of course, his ability to make you smile.

Earlier this year Disney announced the launch of “Mickey the True Original”– a global campaign in celebration of Mickey’s heritage spanning over the last 90 years. Since his inception in 1928, Mickey Mouse has become a global pop culture icon, transcending languages and cultures – embodying a ‘true original’ spirit; Mickey Mouse was the first licensed character franchise and appeared in the first-ever synchronized sound cartoon, Disney’s Steamboat Willie.

Recognized the world over, Mickey continues to inspire artists, musicians and fashion designers from around the globe. The True Original campaign will bring together other original brands that are recognized as pioneers in their field, and Gigi Burris epitomizes this.

ALESSIA CARA PERFORMS AT THE EMA’s

Grammy Award winning singer/songwriter Alessia Cara has once again donned the symbolic, oversized suit she wore in the “Growing Pains” video, the “Trust My Lonely” video, as well as recent appearances on FallonColbert, and the Today Show for her performances at Austin City Limits and the MTV EMA Awards – where she took home the award for Best World Stage. Alessia told the Today crew: “It’s an artistic way of symbolizing the idea of growing up. Sometimes you kind of feel like you’re drowning and you feel like you’re not ready for the roles life throws at you so this was my way of symbolizing it in an artistic way.” Alessia took to her Twitter account to defend her choices for wearing the oversized suit after some online criticism and received support from Kehlani and Ariana Grande.

THE BEATLES × APPLE MUSIC

THE BEATLES RELEASE NEW “GLASS ONION” MUSIC VIDEO EXCLUSIVELY ON APPLE MUSIC
Premiere Includes Rare Beatles Performance Footage and Photos Ahead of the Upcoming Release of
The BEATLES (‘White Album’)

Enjoy a Sneak Peek HERE
As the world readies itself for the comprehensive new edition of The Beatles’ 1968 studio album, The BEATLES (‘White Album’), the group today launches a brand new music video for the album’s “Glass Onion,” available now exclusively on Apple Music. Beatlemania hit Apple Music back in December of 2015 and has continued to grow with streaming audiences ever since, more than 40% in the last year alone.

Here’s a special sneak peek of The Beatles’ new “Glass Onion” video:

Full of delightful surprises and featuring rare photos and footage from The Beatles’ vault, the “Glass Onion” music video takes fans on a journey into the creation of the pull-out poster from the ‘White Album.’ Working closely with Apple Corps Ltd., the video is produced by Richard Barnett and Layla Atkinson of Trunk Animation, and directed by Trunk’s director team Alasdair+Jock, who painstakingly reconstructed and vividly animated the original poster’s montage. The poster, created by ‘White Album’ art director Richard Hamilton along with Paul McCartney, was built on an easel at Hamilton’s north London studio, using images supplied by each of the individual Beatles.

The video presents treats along the way for fans to discover: clever animation, photo styling, and well-matched footage add movement and depth to the poster’s original imagery; a little yellow submarine is revealed in Paul’s bubble bath photo; Jeremy Hillary Boob, Ph.D. pops up from the Sea of Holes; an American flag pencil moves in eraser-first, representing U.S. censorship of the poster’s nude John and Yoko drawing; and much more.

The album’s 30 tracks are newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell in stereo and 5.1 surround audio, joined by 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session takes, most of which are previously unreleased in any form

Sabrina Carpenter Album “Singular: Act I”

Two weeks ahead of its release, singer/songwriter and actress Sabrina Carpenter has revealed additional details surrounding her third studio album Singular: Act I, due out November 9 on Hollywood Records, including the record’s artwork and track listing. Singular: Act I is available now for digital pre-order and pre-save (HERE) and will include an instant download of the song “Paris.” The album will be available on CD exclusively at Target.

Carpenter first revealed the album’s release date during a dramatic performance of the record’s lead single “Almost Love” on The Late Late Show with James Corden earlier this month. The theatrical performance began as a stark affair, with Carpenter clad in all-white among Roman columns and statues. By the end of the song, the set was splattered with neon paint from disembodied hands – its final mark provided by Carpenter herself as she scrawled “November 9” on the walls.

To celebrate the release of Singular: Act I, Sabrina will perform the album’s second single, “Sue Me” on Live with Kelly and Ryan and the TODAY Show on November 9.

Carpenter is on the edge of a new beginning with this album, which has been more than two years in the making for the rising pop powerhouse. This marks her third record in a three-year span since her debut album, and she has grown considerably as an artist and writer between each release – something that especially shines through on Singular: Act I.

“I’m beginning in a different place than I was before,” says Carpenter of the record. Carpenter approached Singular: Act I a little bit older and a little bit wiser than she was when she began writing songs for her first album. She opted to push herself out of her comfort zone in order to be heard, flaunting the confidence of someone who has entered young adulthood and found their own voice. That sense of empowerment is weaved throughout Singular: Act I – a set of eight sonic epiphanies (all of which she co-wrote) blending Carpenter’s R&B-style vocals with the pop sensibility she helmed on her sophomore record EVOLution.

Singular: Act I Track Listing:

1. Almost Love

2. Paris

3. Hold Tight (feat. Uhmeer)

4. Sue Me

5. prfct

6. Bad Time

7. Mona Lisa

8. Diamonds Are Forever
