Capitol Records has signed Felix Cartal in the U.S. The JUNO-nominated artist has won praise for his glistening version of the 1998 New Radicals hit, “Get What You Give,” coming on the heels of the success of such original songs as “Drifting Away,” “Falling Down” and his collaboration with Kaskade, “Fakin It.” Cartal’s official remixes of Kiiara’s “Feels,” Wafia’s “Heartburn” and Selena Gomez’s “Kill Em With Kindness” have topped The Hype Machine charts.

“Get What You Give” Remixes (Capitol Records), which includes remixes by DLMT & Vanrip, Bobby Love, Ship Wrek & Part Native and Billon, was released today. The four-track collection is available for download and streaming HERE.

Spotify streams of “Get What You Give” have surpassed eight million and the track has ranked in the top 15 of Spotify’s viral chart in five countries. It topped The Hype Machine Popular Now chart, was the #1 most-played track on SiriusXM Chill and climbed into the top five of the Billboard + Twitter Emerging Artists chart. Beats 1’s Anna Lunoe was an early fan and everyone from Sam Feldt and R3HAB to Martin Garrix and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have supported on the DJ front. Dancing Astronaut, YOUREDM and Billboard all concurred, hailing “Get What You Give” as a “feel-good” hit.

“This song has been important to me ever since I heard it. It’s one of those songs that feels familiar the first time you hear it, the soundtrack to your life that you didn’t know you were missing,” says Felix Cartal.”At first, I was tentative to put my own take on it, do you really touch a classic? But I kept thinking about this song nearly 20 years after it came out and…I had to try. The lyrics actually seem more relevant as I get older, almost a 90’s take on The Beatles’ ‘and in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make.’ If I can showcase how important they were to me in a new format to the next generation, then I’ll feel like it was worth it.”

The Vancouver, BC native has gone from playing bass in high school punk rock bands to being nominated for a JUNO and performing at some of the world’s biggest music festivals. Never content to repeat himself, Cartal’s artistic evolution has resulted in a unique take on indie dance music, defined by beautiful vocals and driving bass. “Fakin It,” his original collaboration with Kaskade, showcased his songwriting prowess and solidified him among the biggest names of the North American electronic music scene. Cartal dropped the anthemic “Drifting Away” and the club-ready “Falling Down,” in late 2016, again topping the charts. With the release of “Get What You Give” and his remix of Galantis’ “Rich Boy,” he continues to push his sound in new directions.
