Global phenomenon BLACKPINK has announced via social media their second album, BORN PINK will release on Friday, September 16th. Last week, an official visual teaser revealed the first single titled “Pink Venom” will be available next Friday, August 19th. Pre-save the track HERE.
The group’s long-awaited return was announced earlier this summer in an official statement from YG Entertainment noting the upcoming new music would kick off “a continuous large-scale project [that] extends through the second half of the year”. Yesterday, the large-scale project was revealed as BLACKPINK’s 2022 / 2023 world tour, set to kick off on October 15th in Seoul, South Korea. Additional information on the tour will be available in early September. Full list of dates linked HERE and listed below.
Prior to the release of their first full album ‘THE ALBUM’ in 2020, BLACKPINK gained steady popularity with their pre-release single “How You Like That” and their special collaboration with Selena Gomez “Ice Cream”. Despite the restrictions due to COVID-19 pandemic, BLACKPINK drew a record-breaking explosive response from global fans with only their music. ‘THE ALBUM’, which catapulted to number 2 on both the U.S. Billboard 200 and UK Official Chart, also featured standout track “Lovesick Girls”, which sold over 1.4 million copies worldwide, making BLACKPINK the first K-pop girl group to sell over a million units.
