This time around, Danna duets with Issam, creating a hypnotic and heavenly harmony meant to be hummed worldwide. Meanwhile, the accompanying video seamlessly brings the chemistry to life on-screen.

On the collaboration, Issam says, “It’s an honor and a blessing to drop ‘Si Tú Vuelas’ on the 1-year anniversary of the song that changed my life, ‘Hadal Ahbek’, with Alok and Danna Paola, artists from Brazil and Mexico that I highly admire! What a dream. I hope you all like it.”

Over the course of the past year, “Hadal Ahbek” has amassed over 46 million Spotify streams and 3 billion sound views on TikTok, while the official video has garnered 13 million views and the live performance video has over 89 million views. Following the original release, Issam teamed up with Loud Luxury and Ali Gatie on their collaboration “Turning Me Up (Hadal Ahbek),” which has 22 million-plus Spotify streams to date. The song peaked on the Billboard Dance/Mix Show Airplay Chart at #27 and Billboard Canada CHR/Top 40 Chart at #5, where it has been in the Top 10 for ten weeks. Not to mention, he joined forces with R3HAB for “Hadal Ahbek” (R3HAB Club Remix), and then followed it up with two new singles, “Mn Gheirik Enti” and “Hada Ghareeb” featuring Palestinian-Chilean artist Elyanna.

The 18-year-old singer, songwriter, and guitarist has made history with “Hadal Ahbek,” as it is the first Arabic song to explode worldwide as a viral #1 hit. Upon release, the track peaked at #1 on Spotify’s US and Global Viral 50 Charts and Shazam’s Top 200 Global Chart, as well as reached Top 20 spots on Apple Music’s Global Hits and Viral Hits Playlists. On the international stage, it hit #1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart in 25 local markets, including UK, Canada, Germany, France, and Mexico, and #1 on Shazam’s Top 200 Chart in 24 local markets. The irresistible bop has arrived as a cross-continental anthem and cements Issam Alnajjar as an international artist to watch in 2021. You can learn more about Issam’s story HERE.

About Issam Alnajjar

Issam Alnajjar is leading the way for a new generation of artists from the Middle East and North Africa to take over the global music scene. An 18-year-old musician from Amman, Jordan, he had been creating music for a couple of years, studying the songwriting of pop artists like Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran and admiring the creativity of iconic artists like Queen and The Weeknd, when he got some inspiration for his breakout hit “Hadal Ahbek.” After dropping a preview video for the song on Instagram, anticipation from his fans grew larger and larger. By the time he finally released “Hadal Ahbek,” with Issam’s silky voice and infectious lyrics and melody, the popularity of it exceeded his expectations. Issam says he had only expected 10k views total for his song. That was shattered in one day, and eventually it grew to 100k views a week. And on TikTok, the song only grew bigger and now currently sits atop dozens of music charts on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. For any artist to have a top song is an accomplishment. But what makes Issam’s feat more incredible is that he achieved this with a song sung in Arabic.

Mufasa × Hypeman × Dopamine

Following the runaway success of the viral single “Friday”–which has garnered a staggering half a billion streams, shot to the Top 5 in the UK and been certified platinum with over 750,000 UK sales – the exciting duo Mufasa & Hypeman recently teamed up again with DJ/producer collective Dopamine for their new single ‘Weekend’ via Ministry Of Sound Recordings/RCA Records. They release the video for the single which sees Mufasa & Hypeman travelling back in time to an ‘80s house party with a special throwback performance from Dopamine.

The Alexander Lamburini directed visual is the perfect pairing for the infectious single “Weekend” which was released in time for the August Bank Holiday weekend and offers a sprinkling of nostalgia with its reworking of Madonna’s 80s pop classic “Holiday.” Hypeman & Mufasa, with Dopamine on production and vocals, have set the agenda for many weekends to come with the addictive track that has already racked up over two million streams since release and been added to playlists on Capital FM and Kiss FM and received numerous plays on Radio 1 Dance Anthems.

Speaking on the single, Mufasa said: “We wanted to do something different and pay homage to Madonna with the 80s classic song, ‘Holiday’ but with our little twist. We decided to declare the weekend a Holiday because who doesn’t love the weekend?” Hypeman said: “We always try to be better than our last and with this new single, I know we did just that. Creating the weekend was not only fun for us, but relatable for everyone around the world” Dopamine vocalist Sam Harper added: ‘It feels like the right time to bring joy to the world by getting everybody back on the dancefloor. We’ve been working hard to capture that energy in our records and can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions.” Dopamine DJ, Ethan Porte added: “I can’t wait to start playing this one in my sets. If ‘Friday’ is anything to go by, people are going to love this one”

Mufasa & Hypeman are the unlikely duo that shot to global fame following the release of their iconic viral adaptation of MK’s legendary remix for Nightcrawlers’ club classic ‘Push The Feeling On’. The video has spread joy to millions of people around the world during lockdown and became an instant hit on TikTok with the likes of Katy Perry, Kanye West and Gordon Ramsay paving the way for a challenge which would see tens of thousands of people get involved. The viral video was also picked up by BBC’s The One Show and featured as part of Radio 1 Greg James’ Lockdown Awards.

Dopamine is the brainchild of a set of visionary music producers who have produced multi-platinum smashes across the globe under various other guises and have dominated the charts with feel-good, club-ready dance records. The DJ/producer collective also includes vocalist Sam Harper who also provided the vocals for the last smash single “Friday”.

Volbeat – Servant of the Mind

Multi-platinum Danish band Volbeat announced the release of their eighth studio album, Servant Of The Mind, coming via Republic Records on December 3rd. The new album will be available in standard CD, deluxe 2LP vinyl (in various limited-edition variants, full info below) and a deluxe digital edition. Pre-order the album here.

For Servant of the Mind, the band, which consists of Michael Poulsen (guitars/vocals), Jon Larsen (drums), Rob Caggiano (guitars) and Kaspar Boye Larsen (bass) took their signature heavy metal, psychobilly and punk ‘n’ roll sound up a notch while showcasing Poulsen’s keen ability for songwriting and storytelling.

“I wrote the whole album in three months,” recalls Poulsen, “I was in a good place and mood while at home, and had a captive audience of myself… There are a lot of Volbeat signatures in it. If you go back to the first record and compare it to where we are now, you can hear how the band has developed its style, while keeping the signature sound.”

To coincide with the album announcement, the band has released the new single “Shotgun Blues,” an anthemic track in which Poulsen explores the ghostly events he recently experienced upon moving into a new home. “Every time you move into a house, you bring dead people with you,” he explains. “Weird stuff happens when I move into a [new] house… it’s very otherworldly.” Watch the lyric video HERE.

The album also includes the “double barrel” of Summer songs the band released this past June: “Wait A Minute My Girl” and “Dagen Før (feat. Stine Bramsen).” The former of which became the band’s ninth number one single on the Billboard Mainstream Rock chart.

Other songs on the album weave intricate and fascinating tales. “The Sacred Stones” tells the story of “an earthly being who has committed himself to the dark side. He is on a mission, speaking to darker forces and fallen angels.” Meanwhile, “The Devil Rages On” looks at the idea of the devil taking human form. Album opener “Temple of Ekur” returns to the ancient themes explored in past songs such as “The Gates of Babylon,” while the epic album closer “Lasse’s Birgita” explores the story of the first witch burnings to occur in Sweden in 1471.

About Volbeat

Volbeat are two decades deep into a career that has found them sharing stages with genre legends like Black Sabbath, Metallica, Motorhead, Slipknot, Megadeth, Anthrax and more. They have racked up nearly three billion cumulative streams over the course of their career, notched a Best Metal Performance Grammy nomination for “Room 24 (feat. King Diamond)” from 2014’s acclaimed (and gold-selling) Outlaw Gentlemen & Shady Ladies, and have grabbed multiple Danish Music Awards. Not ones to rest on their laurels, their forthcoming album Servant of the Mind, which was written and recorded during the shutdown and quarantine necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic, is introspective but pulls no punches and is no less raucous or driving than their previous efforts.

Wait a Minute… Let’s Tour

The band will kick off their “Wait A Minute… Let’s Tour” run, their first US tour in two years, at Atlanta’s The Tabernacle with shows in cities including Oklahoma City, San Diego, and Los Angeles (full dates below). Limited VIP packages are also available HERE.

Since forming in 2001, Volbeat has gone from the clubs of Copenhagen to headlining stages around the world, including the famed Telia Parken stadium in Denmark (becoming the only domestic artist to ever sell out the venue). Over the course of seven record-breaking albums the band has picked up number one songs (including nine #1s on the US Mainstream Rock chart and counting, the most of any band based outside of North America), multi-platinum certifications, awards and accolades all over the planet. Their latest album, Rewind, Replay, Rebound, was released on August 2nd, 2019 and has spawned the hit singles “Last Day Under The Sun,” “Die To Live (feat. Neil Fallon)” and “Leviathan.” A live album featuring songs recorded during the subsequent world tour, Rewind, Replay, Rebound: Live in Deutschland, was released digitally on November 27th, 2020. Most recently, they contributed a cover of “Don’t Tread on Me” to The Metallica Blacklist, with all proceeds from the track benefiting the All Within My Hands Foundation and the Børne Cancer Fonden of Denmark.

Jordan Hollywood – Pleasures

Florida rapper, singer, producer, and hitmaking CEO Jordan Hollywood unleashes “Pleasures” a new single and music video out now via Quality Control Music/Motown Records. Listen HERE and watch the video HERE. The song paves the way for his upcoming album, Only The Paranoid Survive, coming soon.

On the track, a hypnotic beat grates up against his intent flow. His nimble rhymes give way to a confessional chorus, “I wake up everyday. I tell my son that I love himߪI miss my mom so much I wish that I could hug you.” In the accompanying visual, a psychotherapist reminds Jordan, Only The Paranoid Survive, before he raps from the couch. As stacks fly, he ends up in a literal battle of tug-of-war before facing off against an entire tactical team.

“Pleasures” follows his energized summer banger “The Ugly Song” a collaboration with producer legend Timbaland who told Jordan “You really took it there. Lyrically, video style, concept. I just wanna be the added piece to the puzzle.” ThPle record received acclaim from NME, REVOLT, and more, XXL named it among, “The 13 Best New Songs This Week,” and HotNewHipHop raved, “Jordan Hollywood has his hands on a summer smash.”

About Jordan Hollywood

Jordan Hollywood believes paranoia is integral to his success. “I think being paranoid is healthy,” says the Florida native. “Overthinking certain situations can reduce the losses you take in life.” It’s difficult to argue with the versatile artist, producer, CEO, and hustler. His singular ability to blend witty punchlines, vulnerable verses, and melodic croons into captivating rap/R&B/pop hybrids has resonated with his growing fanbase for years. After a stint in his youth writing for fellow Broward County artist Jason Derulo, Hollywood released a successful independent debut Sorry for This in 2016 and then signed with Quality Control Music for 2018’s FINALLY!. The whole way, he’s held to his ever-skeptical mentality, which has now afforded him the space and close-knit creative circle to create his most honest and mature album to date the forthcoming Only the Paranoid Survive. The album is a document of Hollywood’s growth as he perfects the art of balancing family, loyalty, and financial gains. Only the Paranoid Survive is a product of the countless hours Hollywood spent holed up in his home studio speaking to the microphone about everything from the pressures and anxieties of the unknown, new fatherhood, and avoiding people who he doesn’t trust.  The emotions he spills don’t feel born of negativity, but of self-preservation through his worries, he’s learning how to thrive.

Interview with Melissa Snover

Everyone loves good vitamin gummies, but what if there was a way to customize them? That’s the idea behind Nourished, led by Melissa Snover, an entrepreneur and top UK female entrepreneur according to Business Leader. I had the opportunity to interview Snover about her career and Nourished.

  1. How did you get into 3D modelling and nutrition?

I founded my first company when I was 23 and have been developing innovative products to bring to the consumer market ever since. When running a gummy candy business called Goody Good Stuff, I became frustrated by the limitations of mainstream manufacturing and in 2015 started looking into 3D printing technology to create bespoke products on demand. This led me to launch Magic Candy Factory which 3D printed customized confectionery in retail outlets, amusement parks and private events – depending on the customer’s requirements. It was this technology that gave me the inspiration and foundation to create Nourished and personalize the way we take vitamins and make our nutrition regimes more enjoyable, convenient, and effective.

  1. What are the benefits of personalized gummies?

Many of the vitamins made using traditional manufacturing methods can be largely ineffective by the time they reach the consumer. They often come from lengthy supply chains, are sat in a warehouse or on a store shelf for months and most importantly – are not produced with the individual’s needs in mind. At Nourished we combine 7 different superfoods, nutrients, and vitamins into one delicious and sugar free gummy, which are totally bespoke to the end user. We 3D print each stack on demand to ensure optimum efficacy and can change the customer’s customized blend each month as their goals and lifestyle also change.

  1. How did you develop the idea behind Nourished?

I have been an avid consumer of supplements since my 20s and used to carry around with me a large transparent bag of various supplements and vitamins, and accidentally dropped it on the airport floor in security. Crawling round in my suit and heels picking them, I thought there must be a better way to do this and then I thought, well I have a 3D printing food business, maybe I can do it?

From there I sought to find a way to simplify the way we take vitamins and make the combinations 100% customized to the consumer.

  1. How did you feel about being included in Business Leader’s list of Top UK Female Entrepreneurs to Look Out for?

It was a huge honor to be recognized amongst such inspiring and impressive peers, and I am extremely grateful to Business Leader for celebrating female entrepreneurship. I am a passionate and proactive supporter of women in business, so this is very close to my heart, and I was delighted to involved.

  1. Why use the personalized packaging?

Personalization is at the heart of everything we do at Nourished, and we didn’t want to stop at our packaging! Each of our individual wrappers are printed with the name of the customer, as well as being 100% plastic free and home compostable in just 32 weeks!

  1. How important are visuals when it comes to Nourished products?

Our Nourished stacks not only taste amazing, but they also look beautiful as the 7 layers of active ingredients each come in a different, vibrant color. Our mission at Nourished is to change the way people think about nutrition, and this means upgrading from popping pills and choking back on tablets each day. Our 3D printed vitamin gummies are the perfect visualization of what the future of nutrition can look like.

  1. Why should people choose Nourished?

At Nourished we believe that of all the things we personalize – our health should take priority. We use only the highest quality ingredients and pioneering manufacturing methods to ensure our customers receive truly bespoke nutrition, with the highest impact possible. All our ingredients are vegan, GMO free, sugar free and free from all major allergens and our packaging is 100% plastic free; meaning Nourished is as good for the Earth as it is for our customers!

  1. Do you have plans to release new products in the future?

We are constantly launching new active ingredients into our product range and optimizing our technology to ensure we stay at the forefront of personalized nutrition. We are also currently developing a personalized protein range and are planning on breaking into the pet market next year!

Oh Wonder – 22 Break

Oh Wonder is back today with new single “22 Break”, the title track from the unique duo’s surprise new album, 22 Break, out on October 8th. Listen and watch the video for “22 Break” HERE and pre-order 22 Break HERE.

The project was teased earlier this week by the cinematic visual for the short film set to accompany the record, which also previewed opening track “Baby”—watch HERE. All this follows 2020’s No One Else Can Wear Your Crown, and back-to-back top 10 albums from the band who have—on their own distinct terms—become one of UK pop’s more unsuspecting success stories (2.7 billion streams, 1.7 million adjusted album sales, and vocal fans in the likes of Billie Eilish, who covered “All We Do” during her Apple documentary).

By their own design, Oh Wonder have always flown a little below the public radar. Josephine Vander Gucht and Anthony West have played music together since 2014 and (on the down-low) been romantically involved since 2013. By the time they confirmed their engagement on No One Else Can Wear Your Crown, life was good: then of course the pandemic hit, and a 120-date world tour (plus, it transpired, much more besides) came crashing to the ground. This tumultuous and deeply personal time in their private lives is the subject of Oh Wonder’s fifth studio album, 22 Break. Written autonomously in their home studio, the songs that form it are messages about their true feelings, expressed before they were able to find the words to say to one another. It’s a brutally honest and powerfully beautiful record, and one that lets listeners into the Oh Wonder fold like never before. As Josephine puts it: “We were just writing songs. We had no idea we were writing a break-up album.”

Even without distraction, an audience, or adrenaline, Oh Wonder is not a band who sit still for long. But like many forced to analyze their work/life balance under lockdown, the couple had never really known a life together without Oh Wonder in it, either. In the pandemic’s early phases, Anthony and Josephine worked hard to fill that gap: Anthony even decided to open a coffee shop in Peckham (the gorgeous, meticulously designed Nola), which soon saw round-the-block queues and put many of their touring crew back to work. As they started working on new music, however, all the unspoken tensions between the pair tumbled out. All the time these anguished songs were pouring out, Oh Wonder never spoke about what was happening back in the house; never talking directly about the ending, but they both felt it was coming.

22 Break is a portal into such emotional states, and the life-changing, universal breakup themes (loneliness, inadequacy, resentment, fears for the future) as experienced in real-time by one couple in their garden shed. The production is icy, sparse, and filled with bloops and bleeps, like a message from the ether is trying to come through—which, in a way, it was. Amidst the darkness, there finally came a glimmer of hope. With the record written, the couple went away in September 2020 and finally talked. “It was such a weird thing, to make a break-up album with the person you’re breaking up with, while you’re breaking up,” Anthony reflects (the first in history, Josephine thinks). Even weirder, the album that almost ended them proved to be the band’s salvation: 22 Break is an ultimately cathartic, deeply hopeful project, the light at the end of the tunnel that was Oh Wonder’s quite particular pandemic. With the record complete, the band (true to their DIY spirit) threw themselves into the stunning short film that will accompany the full album and is previewed in the visuals for the title track.

Not many bands can make a break-up album that culminates in them tying the knot—but then again, Oh Wonder has never been like other bands. Coming out of 22 Break and all the soul-searching that it forced them to do, Josephine and Anthony finally got married in August this year. Whilst their relationship now has its own space to exist outside of Nola and Oh Wonder, the duo’s crossroads period has accidentally resulted in their most profound work to date “it’s awkward, it’s vulnerable, but it also saved us,” adds Josephine. Opening up to their fans and each other, the ‘Make or Break?’ poised by 22 Break is not so much a question as an active choice—to be as honest as possible, to move forward, and to begin a brand new chapter in the story of Oh Wonder.
