Suki Waterhouse – Moves

Suki Waterhouse has released a brand-new single, “Moves” which comes with a visually stunning video directed by Cameron McCool. The track is the first to be released off her forthcoming full-length album, due out in 2022 via Sub Pop. “Moves” is Executive Produced by Grammy-Nominated Producer & Songwriter Brad Cook (Bon Iver, War On Drugs, Snail Mail, Waxahatchee) “Moves” is accompanied by companion track “My Mind,” a song that shows off Suki’s beautiful, airy vocals.

Listen to “Moves” and “My Mind” HERE. Watch “Moves” HERE.

Suki Waterhouse catalogs the most intimate, formative, and significant moments of her life through songs. You might recognize her name or her work as a singer, songwriter and actress, but you’ll really get to know the multi-faceted artist through her music. Growing up in London, Suki gravitated towards music’s magnetic pull and always saw the medium as a way of expressing creativity and telling stories. Previous singles “Brutally”, “Good Looking” and “Valentine” drew comparisons to the Paisley Underground sound of Mazzy Star and to the 60s influenced girl group reimagining of bands like Stockholm’s The Concretes and Glasgow’s Camera Obscura.

Megan Jasper, CEO of Sub Pop said, “Suki’s songs are smart, radiant, and incredibly engaging, much like her personality. We knew the minute we heard them that they were important and needed to be out in the world. Sub Pop is over the moon to be working with her!”

“Moves” illuminates the nuances of her sound. With gentle guitar strumming throughout the verses and a rhythmic bass permeating the chorus, Waterhouse warns she might “put some goddamn moves on you” with beautiful, haunting vocals. “Moves” is a song that dreams about the impossibility of, one day, being struck by a person who changes the course of your life.

“Moves” is a song I first started writing one night on the couch, picking up the guitar and seeing what came out,” writes Suki. “It was a moment where I felt the urge to both sever a bond of connection with somebody and yet at the same time pursue and put my trust back in love.”

ENHYPEN – DILLUSION : DILEMMA

Six months after wowing worldwide audiences with their 2nd Mini Album BORDER : CARNIVAL, your new K-pop destination ENHYPEN has made another splashing return with their 1st Studio Album DIMENSION : DILEMMA.

The rising authentic storytellers who expressed their complex yet sincere emotions experienced before and after crossing the border of debut with their ‘BORDER’ series, now come to realize that this world is even more multidimensional than they expected in their new ‘DIMENSION’ series.

DIMENSION : DILEMMA opens the doors to the new ‘DIMENSION’ series. After entering a multidimensional world, where many values collide, the septet face a dilemma, questioning their identity while realizing their desires for the first time. The album, however, captures their resolution to put this dilemma aside and dash forward to find a solution. Producers of HYBE’s labels led by “hitman” bang and Wonderkid, who have been with ENHYPEN from the very beginning, once again participated in the production of the band’s latest discography to magnify the musical quality of the album which consists of eight tracks: “Intro : Whiteout”, lead single “Tamed-Dashed,” “Upper Side Dreamin'”, “Just A Little Bit”, “Go Big or Go Home”, “Blockbuster feat. YEONJUN of TOMORROW X TOGETHER”, “Attention, please!”, and “Interlude: Question.”

The lead single “Tamed-Dashed” is a New Wave track reminiscent of the 80’s that calls into question a dilemma of choice: to be “tamed” by one’s desires, or to “dash” to find the answers to address one’s predicament. It depicts the vivid dilemma of the seven boys unable to decide which path to pursue between the paradoxical contradictions and conflict of their desires.

The music video for “Tamed-Dashed” raises curiosity from the start as it begins with NI-KI reaching out to grab a rugby ball on the ground. It continues with scenes of the septet dressed in uniforms exuding a sense of freedom as they hang out and toss a ball to one another. Against the backdrop of a school gym, field, and blue ocean, ENHYPEN show off their powerful, yet refreshing choreography to complete a perfectly synchronized performance that delivers a cool and refreshing feel. Throughout the music video, the members’ past selves dressed in different clothing continuously intersect with the present, and concludes with NI-KI eventually taking the ball from the ground.

Reactions to the return of the record-breaking K-pop prodigies were massive. The band trended on social media channels with the release of various album-related content and broke their own record with the new album surpassing 920,000 pre-order copies, proving their reputation as the new K-pop destination.

Following the release of DIMENSION : DILEMMA at 6 PM KST, ENHYPEN premiered the performance of their new song on Mnet’s Comeback Show at 7 PM KST.

About ENHYPEN

ENHYPEN is the first boy band created by BELIFT LAB, consisting of members JUNGWON, HEESEUNG, JAY, JAKE, SUNGHOON, SUNOO, and NI-KI. Inspired by the hyphen(-) that connects one word to another, ENHYPEN means that seven different boys connect to discover one another and grow together. The group has been smashing from day one since their debut on November 30, 2020 with their first mini album BORDER: DAY ONE. They have caught the attention of viewers worldwide with relatable music and energetic performances and have performed on global shows like MTV Fresh Out Live. The septet also took the “Rookie of The Year” title at four Korean award shows within two months of their debut, proving their reputation as the breakout boyband to watch out for. With the release of their sophomore album BORDER: CARNIVAL in April 2021, the one of a kind global rookies not only topped Japan’s Oricon Daily, Weekly, and Monthly Album Charts, but also peaked at #18 on the Billboard 200 and Artist 100 Charts respectively, solidifying their position as the new destination for K-pop fans everywhere.

Rosemarie × Juvenile – 03 Love

R&B’s newest addition, Rosemarie, has released the official video for her track “03 Love” featuring hip hop legend Juvenile. The two throwback to early ‘00s as the song’s title suggest for an eclectic music video fit for the cooling weather and all your #nostalgia inspirations. Watch the video HERE.

The video comes after the release of Rosemarie’s debut EP: Sinnergy (Bird Vision Entertainment/Interscope Records). The gorgeous nine-track EP comes packed with poetic lyricism, insatiable melodies, featuring singles like “Henny Talk” and “Vision”—Rosemarie continues to carve her own space in the ever-evolving genre. Listen to the EP in full HERE.

About Rosemarie

“I want my music to be relatable. I want it to be able to connect with my listeners on a different level.” Driven by this mission, newcomer Rosemarie is a refreshing addition to the re-energized landscape that is rhythm and blues. Born in Los Angeles, CA, Rosemarie calls many States her “home” having lived in New York, Florida and California. She grew up in a musically inclined family, splitting her time between being a natural-born creative—writing poems, songs, painting as well as playing sports and climbing trees. After a few years on the East Coast and experiencing the loss of her mother, she settled back into California where she attended culinary school to become a pastry chef. Long days working part time jobs were peppered with Rosemarie’s continuing exploration of her naturally gifted singing talents. She began uploading covers and music challenges to social media and reconnected with a long-time friend and studio engineer, Jon Rousseau, who encouraged her to create original music again. So in 2016, Rosemarie bet on herself and began working towards her dream of becoming an artist.

Inspired by some of music’s biggest powerhouses like Drake, Rihanna, SZA as well as talents like Dominic Fike and Dijon, Rosemarie aims to create R&B with deep cutting lyrics and addictive melodies. Tapping into real life experiences and events, Rosemarie sings from the soul with her heart on her (tattooed) sleeve. Rosemarie met her now manager Bird of Bird Vision Entertainment (Roddy Ricch) in 2017 after connecting over a cover that she had posted online. Also recognizing her unquestionable talent, Bird worked with Rosemarie to build out her future in music. In 2020, she signed to Interscope Records, and wasting no time, immediately started working on her debut project. This time, it’s hers. Inspired by honoring her past to celebrate her future, Rosemarie’s upcoming EP is an homage to the journey she embarked all those years ago as a young artist. Born to create, Rosemarie proves to be an undeniable promise and exciting addition to R&B’s evolving scene.

Marvin Gaye – What’s Going On 50th Anniversary Edition

Throughout 2021, the world has been celebrating the life and legacy of R&B pioneer Marvin Gaye to honor the 50th anniversary of the release of his groundbreaking record What’s Going On. After half a century, the wisdom behind R&B’s first seamless concept album, What’s Going On, continues to ring true: a poignant plea that we might organize to address often-overlooked issues of inequality and ecological distress.

Closing out the year, Motown and UMe are continuing the celebration with the release of What’s Going On: 50th Anniversary 2LP Edition on December 3, 2021. This premium vinyl release features direct-to-analog mastering from the original primary album tape reels by acclaimed engineer Kevin Gray, one of the first times this has been done since 1971, offering an undeniably authentic listening experience.

What’s Going On: 50th Anniversary 2LP Edition bonus LP opens up the album’s writing and production palette. Featured are four rare cuts making their vinyl debut, highlighted by a previously unreleased “stripped” version of the title song, plus all six original mono single mixes and their B-sides, with all of those 7” versions on vinyl for the first time since their original releases. Among them are alternate versions of “God Is Love” and “Flying High (In The Friendly Sky),” the latter issued on 45 as “Sad Tomorrows.”

With two 180gm records, a tip-on heavy stock jacket, original gatefold with complete lyrics, this formidable release also includes printed sleeves with track details, a rare image from the cover sessions, and a brief essay honoring arranger David Van De Pitte. Highlighted is a main essay by acclaimed author and poet Hanif Abdurraqib who was just named one of the 25 recipients of the 2021 MacArthur “genius” grant. An e-commerce edition will also include three exclusive lithographs from the What’s Going On photo sessions. Purchase the What’s Going On: 50th Anniversary 2LP Edition HERE.

In addition to What’s Going On 50th Anniversary 2LP Edition, Motown/UMe is releasing a four-track remix suite from GRAMMY®-nominated producer Salaam Remi, known for his work with countless hip hop, pop, and R&B icons. The suite includes remixes of What’s Going On tracks, which includes “No Need,” an unreleased instrumental from the “Sad Tomorrows” sessions, as well as a reinterpretation of the holiday release “I Want To Come Home For Christmas,” originally recorded in 1972 and thematically tied to What’s Going On as a tribute to the Vietnam troops yearning to be with their families for the holidays.

With a vulnerable depth and complexity, Marvin Gaye opened the door musically, culturally, and politically for countless musicians over the last five decades to address the injustices of our world. Sitting at the No. 1 spot on Rolling Stone’s 2020 list of “The 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time,” What’s Going On has proven its evergreen relevance and its legacy will continue to influence and shape the music of future generations.

Manuel Torizo – Te Olvido

Latin music superstar Manuel Torizo released his new song and music video, “Te Olvido.”

“Te Olvido” is a ballad that turns into a slow-tempo reggaeton that talks about being deceived by the person you thought was your partner and asking them to never come back. The song begins with Torizo giving us the backstory of the situation before transitioning to the pre-chorus, and finally dropping the beat in the chorus.

“Don’t even bother giving my an explanation // If you ever think of apologizing when you’re alone // I hope you don’t even try it // Just remember I was rooting for you, and you threw everything out the window // You didn’t care how much I valued you, it just ended in lies,” Manuel Turizo begins singing, portraying his heartbreak with a lot of feeling that comes through his performance.

The music video, directed by P The Chemist, shows Manuel accepting the heartbreak and promising himself to forget that deception in one night. The inspiration behind it was the year 2000, which is the year when Manuel was born and will be the name of his upcoming third album. In the video, the viewer immerses themself in a memorable trip to the past with very recognizable tributes to shows, fashion, and celebrities that shaped a generation.

The video begins in a girl’s bedroom, exactly how you’d expect a teenager in the 2000s to decorate her room. Her TV is on, where we see the first hint of Manuel before taking us into his universe which feels like a mix of MTV Cribs and Entertainment Tonight. His fashion choices are very reminiscent of the styles of icons such as Pharrell, Nelly, and even Justin Timberlake, as he shows how he’s now getting over the heartbreak.

About Manuel Turizo

Manuel Turizo found fame after releasing his song “Una Lady Como Tù” (1.5 billion views) in 2016 and topping Colombia’s and then Latin America’s charts. This unprecedented success caught the attention of Juan Diego Medina and La Industria INC, who signed him as their artist to continue pushing a successful career of a very talented young man. His following singles “Esperàndote” and “Culpables” have garnered over 700 million views each, further cementing the career of Manuel Turizo among Latin music’s favorites.

He’s collaborated with names such as Nicky Jam, Ozuna, Darell, Noriel, Anuel AA, Zion & Lennox, Wisin & Yandel, Rauw Alejandro, Myke Towers, Piso 21, Maluma, Sech, Jay Wheeler, Mau & Ricky, Camilo, and more, and his songs have received multiple certifications from gold to platinum. He’s been nominated for Premios Juventud, Latin American Music Awards, Premios Tu Mùsica Urbano, Latin Billboards, and Latin Grammys.

Manuel Turizo has released two highly successful albums, ADN and Dopamina, and is working on his third project, 2000, an ode to the year he was born in. Currently, he’s on tour across the US, passing through cities such as Tampa, Chicago, El Paso, Orlando, Houston, New York, and more.

Prioritize User-Driven Problems For Big CX Gains’

By: Jess Braun

In the product world, companies tend to release updates and new models sparsely. And it makes sense. A product is made available to customers, those buyers give feedback, which is collected to inform the next major offering. What if, instead, companies made small, sometimes seemingly unnoticeable changes? That’s what Hammerhead does. It’s intentionally invisible, easily interactive, and ultimately achieved when research, strategy, technology, and user experience collaborate to simplify the complex and make the lives of our users easier in a way none of our competitors can match.

Like all products, the initial idea comes from creating a solution for a particular customer base. In our case, that’s cycling. From our own experiences, we were frustrated that the digital technology in cycling was still so far behind the material technology. Bikes used in competitive cycling boast carbon fiber, titanium, and technological advancements and are tested in wind tunnel and aerodynamic settings. By contrast, traditional cycling computers are far behind other consumer technologies, adapted from a paradigm built for car GPS units a decade ago. Clunky and difficult to use, they don’t do cycling justice.

The resulting product, called the H1, was a bike head unit clipped onto handlebars and used simple light patterns to guide cyclists. That has since transformed into the product we have today—the Karoo 2—which is based around the Android operating system. It’s that unique capability that allows the micro-change approach to CX to come to life.

While hardware takes time to develop and produce in a factory, the software can mold and change quicker. Even so, you will see major companies following the traditional model of collecting tons of data over months and years before releasing a major software update. Understandably, they want to take as much information to make the best decision possible. So instead, we take feedback in real-time and constantly iterate software updates. And that commentary comes from all of the customers, from our professional athletes and our more casual riders.

We take all the feedback from our pro cyclists, ambassadors, and customers, and we sort and filter it. From there, we’re able to identify themes and areas of opportunity. The product team uses this data to inform their product roadmap directly and what projects they develop and work on next. And those features get rolled out to all of our customers, including our professional athletes. When the user experience is well-thought, designed, integrated, and tested, every customer’s choice is instinctively the right one.

For example, when Chris Froome was training to return to the Tour de France, he asked for more detailed left-right power data. The product team developed the exact specifications that he was looking for. Not only did Chris get the benefit of having that data, but everyone now has access to that same data. We did something similar for Chris and his fellow ISN team cyclists Mike Woods and Dan Martin. They—some of the best climbers in the world—wanted more data on upcoming climbs for the Tour de France. We built a software feature called CLIMBER that was launched just ahead of the Tour so that not just the team but all riders around the world were able to use it. We even made some tweaks during the event as we got real-time feedback, and we continue to iterate and expand upon the feature.

Now, not all updates can happen in real-time or as quickly as those mentioned. But it speaks to our focus as a company to iterate rather than continually making a few major updates. Our competitors will release major upgrades about twice a year. It might get their customers talking, but we’ve found that this unheard-of rate of iteration allows our customers to be part of the conversation. They’re not simply giving one-time feedback on a feature and have to wait to see if their voices were heard. Instead, we’re hearing them—pros and all—and making changes in real-time.

Even with CLIMBER—which had a bigger release with a long lead time—we just released an iteration as a different way of introducing more data within the feature. It’s learning from the real world. The more people, the more information, the more quickly we can act to enhance CX. Ultimately, the best product teams fall in love with problems, not solutions, and our interactions with our customers help us uncover problems that if solved elegantly can significantly improve a rider’s overall experience.

It’s also a lower-risk approach. Since we are making small changes, we can quickly identify how and if that impacts the user experience. If the customer doesn’t like the change or it creates unforeseen bugs, we can revert before it gets paved over. But, if they like it, we can build on it.

We understand the software is fundamentally what our customers experience from day today, and we want to make that experience the best one possible. As customers’ wants and needs change from day to day, we should also adapt our product to suit those requests if possible. It might not be a big, flashy announcement all the time that gets everyone talking (for better or worse). But these micro-changes have proved to make for big CX gains.

Julia Wolf – Girls in Purgatory

One of the most sought-after independent artists Julia Wolf (aka WOLF) has released her highly-anticipated debut EP Girls In Purgatory. A prolific lyricist with a unique and captivating tone, WOLF, who hails from Queens, NY, crafted her first body of work with co-writer and producer Jackson Foote of Loote (Demi Lovato, Zara Larsson, Jonas Blue).

Filled with empowering, no nonsense anthems that puts “shy girls” at the forefront, Girls In Purgatory sees WOLF drawing from her own experiences of feeling in limbo. On the inspiration for the 8-track record, she said:

“This name comes from constantly having to choose between being the good guy vs. being the bad guy. Since I grew up such a shy kid, I always felt the need to put others’ feelings before my own so as not to step on toes or cause issues that would then lead to confrontation. It was practically ingrained in me to feel guilty when I put myself first, which is why I never did. But as I’ve gotten older and have found my voice through music, the decisions have started to get less clear, placing me in my own sort of purgatory where I slowly weigh out my options. Each song on this EP is a reflection of times where the road to take has either been crystal clear, or extremely blurry. There are moments of empowerment and moments of doubt, but ultimately a collection of moments I think people will be able to relate to.”

Girls In Purgatory has already seen strong support across DSPs with early singles “Resting B*tch Face: Part 2” and “Falling In Love” landing on several of Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and Tidal’s top pop and new music playlists, and her songs have been used in nearly 5 million videos on Snapchat, an incredible feat for an emerging independent artist. WOLF now has over 20 million streams across all DSPs before releasing her first body of work, proving her to be an artist to watch in 2021.

WOLF will celebrate the release of Girls In Purgatory with a bi-coastal run of her first-ever headline shows (see dates below). Kicking things off in her home state of New York, she sold out her first show at the city’s Mercury Lounge in just three days.

Yuval David – Pride In the Living Room

Yuval David, celebrated and award-winning actor, host, director, and filmmaker will host and speak at The Aguda’s Pride in the Living Room event, in Hebrew termed Gaava Basalon, currently scheduled for October 17. Yuval will also be keynote speaker at an additional virtual event shared on Instagram Live on October 6, at 1 p.m. DC/NY and 8 p.m. Israel time.

Yuval’s creative mantra to entertain, uplift, and inspire transcends into advocacy, especially for Jewish, LGBTQ, Israeli, American and human rights, as well as arts initiatives.

The Aguda is the Association for LGBTQ Equality in Israel, and Israel’s pioneering LGBTQ organization. At their Pride in the Living Room events, participants, communities, and organizations come together to create safe spaces for dialogue about Judaism and the Jewish LGBTQ community.

The October 6 event will specifically focus on the challenges of Israeli and LGBTQ advocacy, especially amidst this past year, during the pandemic and with the rise of antisemitism globally. The intersection of Jewish and LGBTQ identity is filled with pride, but also the challenges of double marginalization.

According to Yuval, “Pride in the Living Room is a way to authentically share stories, express identity, and create community through bringing people into our homes, even if virtually.  This event also exposes those who don’t personally know LGBTQ+ individuals to have an opportunity to hear their story, as well as have an intimate discussion about LGBTQ+ and religious identity, and the intersection of both.”

According to Tomer Barash at The Aguda, “These events take place in Israel in living rooms in religious cities and the surrounding areas, Arab-Israeli villages, and more. These conversations lead to a growth of love and understanding in our society. For the second year, The Aguda is expanding the reach of this initiative not only in Israel, but globally through online forums, creating living rooms across the globe where the complexities of LGBTQ+ identity from all faiths are explored together, especially to promote understanding in all religious communities.”

Shira Banki, a 16-year-old who was murdered during the Jerusalem Pride March in 2015 by an extremist ultra-orthodox Jew, inspired the creation of Pride in the Living Room in 2016. The murder of Banki made it clear that there was a need for open dialogue between the LGBTQ+ community, the general public of Israel, and the rest of the world. Five years later, Pride in the Living Room continues to invite friends, family, neighbors, and the public to join in the conversation with LGBTQ+ speakers from their living rooms.

Yuval David finds it critically important to expand the reach of this initiative to people across the globe, including all religious groups. As the director of a feature length documentary exploring the intersection of LGBTQ+ and religious identity, Yuval has a great understanding of the positive impact that people of different faiths coming together can have on a community. The film, titled Wonderfully Made, focuses specifically on the aspirations and challenges of LGBTQ+ Catholics and their complicated relationship with the Church.

Beyond this initiative, Yuval advocates for marginalized communities through his creative work and social action, supporting the organizations below.
