Celeste New Track

Ascendant soul singer and BBC Sound of 2020 winner Celeste releases her sweeping, optimistic new single “I Can See The Change,” today via Interscope Records. Produced by FINNEAS, “I Can See The Change” is a song about finding hope in the wake of adversity and realising that a brighter future lies ahead.

Speaking about the story behind the new single, Celeste explains, “It was a strange time for me as externally lots of exciting things were happening in my life, but internally I was feeling flat. I felt disconnected from myself and the world around me, so I knew something needed to change… It’s difficult for me to fully articulate, but when I started writing the song I pictured a blurry, unidentified image far off in the distance that I knew I had to move closer to in order to understand what it was and perhaps what it meant, but also realizing that the journey wasn’t going to be easy. Ultimately the song is about hope and change but knowing that to obtain this requires effort, patience and conviction.”

Celeste and FINNEAS met at the Brit Awards and ultimately stayed in touch. They decided to collaborate on the new song, finishing it during lockdown. “I saw Celeste perform at the Brits back in February and was blown away,” he reveals. “She commanded the stage in a way that was simultaneously intimate and massive, and I immediately went home and downloaded her entire catalog. When I was approached about producing ‘I Can See The Change,’ I was thrilled. I have been lucky to produce songs for a few artists who I think will never go out or style and Celeste is certainly on that list.”

Celeste has kept herself busy throughout the UK lockdown with stripped-back and socially distanced performances for the likes of COLORS, the World Health Organisation’s Global Citizen sessions (hand-picked by Chris Martin), The Graham Norton Show and BBC Children

In Need’s Big Night In, for which she performed a poignant cover of the late Bill Withers’ “Lean On Me” live from her living room. In these strange times with live shows cancelled and artists having to adapt to the new normal, Celeste has come into her own – that singular voice shining through.

Ashlee Keating’s “YASSS”

If quarantine has you feeling down, popstar Ashlee Keating’s new single is here to get you dancing and make you say “YASSS.”

The Billboard chart sensation, dancer, songwriter, and actress’s newest song, “YASSS,” racked up nearly 150K streams on Spotify, and now the anxiously awaited music video is out.

“YASSS,” which is a single from her upcoming EP (set to drop this summer), is a fun pop/dance track that emphasizes the importance of self-confidence. With its upbeat sound and catchy lyrics, “YASSS” is the perfect quarantine dance party track.

Ashlee is highly regarded in the LGBTQ+ industry as a supporter and activist, and she wrote this song with her LGBTQ+ friends in mind – she wants to give them the confidence through her music that they give her when she performs.

“We’ve gone through some tough times during the last few months, and I wanted to do my part to try and bring hope and happiness through my art. The world needed a pick-me-up, and I wanted “YASSS” to be that. I hope that the lyrics encourage empowerment and confidence, and the uptempo beat will help people forget about their worries for a minute. Creatively, I wanted the video to be colorful, poppy, and most importantly, fun! I wanted people to hear it and feel inspired to get up and do that in-home work out, have that dance party in the mirror with themselves or their quarantine buddy, or just feel the positive vibes for a few minutes, to help make it through another day at home,” said Ashlee.

Preceding “YASSS” is Ashlee’s single “Hurt Me So Good,” which skyrocketed up the Billboard Dance charts to #8 within days and has more than 1 million streams on Spotify. Following “Hurt Me So Good,” Ashlee’s “Bad Mistake” was released as her #1 breakout song and held its own on the Billboard Dance charts for weeks.

Jessie Ware Drops New Video

Jessie Ware has released the video for her latest single “Save A Kiss” from her upcoming album What’s Your Pleasure?

Directed by Vicky Lawton, “Save A Kiss” was made entirely in quarantine. The concept behind the visual is connecting everyone to their loved ones through dance, and it featured 14 fans dancing to the track alongside the singer in self-shot videos. “This song feels particularly special coming out now, I love it and feel really proud of what we have made for the video,” Jessie said.

With production from Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford and Midland, “Save A Kiss” is a recipe for club glory with its sleek disco influence and free-roaming rubbery bass lines that make you want to get up and dance. It’s the perfect prescription for today’s world.

“‘Save A Kiss’ has taken on a new meaning during these weird times and it seems like the right time to put it out,” explained Jessie, “This track is an optimistic one for me, I hope it resonates with people wherever they are right now. It’s an upbeat song to dance along to and have fun with. I know I’ve got plenty of kisses I’m saving up for everyone when this is all over.

Last month, Jessie announced her fourth studio album, What’s Your Pleasure?, to great fan excitement. Pitchform said “Her latest single reminds us why we listen to dance music in the first place,” with Fader adding “‘Ooh La La’ is the kind of track that could make quarantine feel like Studio 54.” The record is a collection of sophisticated, hard-bodied pop funk that capitalizes on a love of 70s, 80s, and 90s club culture coupled with Jessie’s vocals and the intuitive production of long-time friend James Ford culminates in a sound that feels instantly compelling.

With four BRIT-nominations plus a Mercury Prize nomination and three UK top-ten albums under her belt, Jessie has proven her status as one of the UK’s most influential artists. Her return with the dancefloor ready What’s Your Pleasure? feels like an artist in control while capturing the essence of nostalgia to keep the spirit of club music and the dancefloor alive.

South Beach Wine & Food Festival

Prominent Illinois pig farmer Julie Maschhoff led panel of judges at the 2018 Swine, Wine & Spirits event at SOBEWFF

Julie Maschhoff, co-owner of The Maschhoffs LLC and one of the nation’s largest and most successful pork producers, led the judging panel at this year’s Swine, Wine & Spirits event as part of the South Beach Wine and Food Festival (SOBEWFF) in Miami. The Maschhoff family is the fourth largest pork producer in the United States, marketing 5 million pigs each year.

Maschhoff and the panel selected the best pork dish from about a dozen competing chef entries at Sunday’s Swine, Wine & Spirits event. She was also available at the various National Pork Board-sponsored events throughout the week where she shared her insight with consumers and media on all things pork, including pork quality and safety, animal welfare and sustainability.

“Growing up on a livestock farm, we have always focused on providing good animal care – keeping them healthy – and sound environmental stewardship,” said Maschhoff. “Today, as our farm feeds not just our family but other families around the world, it is even more imperative that we share our story of stewardship with consumers. We want consumers to know and have confidence that the pork we produce is a great, safe, healthy choice for their family.”

Through the years, Maschhoff and her husband, Ken, have been strong and consistent voices in educating and informing consumers about the importance of animal agriculture. Maschhoff has been a frequent spokesperson for pig farming through her work with the U.S. Farmers and Ranchers Alliance.

The Swine, Wine & Spirits event took place on Sunday, February 25, at the Biltmore Hotel and was hosted by local chef and restaurateur, Giorgio Rapicavoli. Additional judges included: National Pork Board Ambassador and celebrity chef, Richard Ingraham; Executive Chef of Goya Foods, Fernando Desa; and Eddie Zamora of The Yum Yum Foodie online fame.

This is the third year the National Pork Board has been the festival’s official pork sponsor, with pork featured as the event’s preferred protein. The five-day festival ran from Wednesday, February 21 through Sunday, February 25, 2018, and featured culinary events at a variety of venues throughout Miami and the beaches.

Attendees found the National Pork Board at other signature events: Tacos After Dark on Thursday, February 22; Burger Bash on Friday, February 23; and Swine, Wine & Spirits on Sunday, February 25.

“South Beach Wine & Food Festival was the perfect setting to engage with consumers who love pork and have been looking for additional ways to enjoy it,” said Jose de Jesus, director of multicultural marketing at the National Pork Board. “We know that the word ‘pork’ is synonymous with flavor and we are pleased to have had the opportunity to bring such amazing flavor to the festival attendees.”
