Guggenheim Bilbao 25th Anniv

On 18 October 2022, the Guggenheim Bilbao will mark the 25th Anniversary of its grand opening. Following on from the wide range of commemorative cultural and artistic events held so far this year, and after a record summer in terms of visitor numbers, between September and December the Museum will intensify its Anniversary celebrations.

As with the previous programs held, the events taking place over the coming months will be in line with the values that inspire this milestone: celebration, the Collection, gratitude, inclusiveness and the strength of unity, pride and belonging, and not forgetting transformation and projection into the future, also reflected in the slogan chosen for these commemorations: “Art Inspires the Future.”

Here are a few of the events scheduled for the coming months:

Francisco Escudero’s Symphony No. 3 (Mythological Symphony) [September 25]
Performed by Sociedad Coral de Bilbao Children’s Choir, Ensemble Kuraia, Andoni Alemán (narrator) Museum Atrium

Symphony No. 3 (Mythological Symphony) is undoubtedly one of the greatest works of the final creative period in the life of composer Francisco Escudero, which uses a stunning set of sound and vocal resources to bring together avant-garde music and a series of disparate literary and musical elements—some of them from Basque lore. Drawing inspiration from Basque mythology as depicted in the tales collected by Jose Miguel de Barandiaran, the Symphony is written entirely in Basque.

This concert will take place in the same year that Ensemble Kuraia, like the Museum, commemorates its own 25th anniversary.

Ecologies of Water [October 6] Museum Auditorium

The Guggenheim Bilbao Museum will be hosting the international symposium “Ecologies of Water,” highlighting the importance of the collaboration between the artistic, scientific, and technological worlds for the necessary conservation and regeneration of ecosystems.

Looking particularly at bodies of water, which are vital to the survival of human beings and other species, the aim of this event is to encourage dialogue and interdisciplinary collaboration, and to identify common areas of transnational work, bringing together some of Europe’s leading experts.

Organized in collaboration with the European Commission initiative STARTS4Water and the members of its consortium, including Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto (Italy), Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary – TB21 (Spain/Austria), V2_Lab for the Unstable Media (Netherlands), BOZAR and Gluon (Belgium), which will be represented by various guest speakers at the event.

In addition to the researchers and representatives of international organizations convened, this event will be attended by figures from the Basque territory, which is understood as a key scenario for reflection on account of its unique historical ties with water economies, pertaining to both seas and rivers. In this regard, the symposium will feature the participation of artist Cristina Iglesias, present through two of her works from the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Collection.

Other confirmed participants include artist Mark Ijzerman; Paolo Naldini, Director of Cittadellarte – Fondazione Pistoletto, and Amalia Zepou, former Deputy Mayor of Athens.

The Missing Element [October 14, 15, 16, 17]
Streets of Bilbao; outside the Museum, Atrium, Auditorium

In this series of stimulating performances, a group of dancers from the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum’s Works & Process program will combine different disciplines such as rap, beatbox, and break dance within the Museum’s immersive architecture. A purely contemporary show which will be held in different places around the city as well as inside the Museum.

Pop-up Performances in Bilbao:

  • October 14: 12 pm noon: Plaza Moyúa and opposite the Regional Council of Biscay (Diputación Foral de Bizkaia) building; 6:30 pm on the Puente del Arenal bridge and in Plaza del Arriaga.
  • October 15: 12:30 pm in the Plaza Nueva, 6:30 pm on the Puente del Ayuntamiento bridge, and opposite City Hall. Performances in the Museum:
    • October 16: 12:30 pm and 8:30 pm
    • October 17: 6:30 pm Meeting of the Boards of Trustees of the Guggenheim Foundations, and 25th Anniversary Gala Dinner [October 17]
As part of the Anniversary celebrations, the Museum will host a joint meeting of the Boards of Trustees of the Guggenheim Museums in Bilbao, New York, and Venice. That same evening there will be a special edition of the Museum’s Annual Gala Dinner.

Opening of the Exhibition Sections/Intersections. 25 Years of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Collection [October 18]
Curated by: Lekha Hileman Waitoller, Manuel Cirauqui, Geaninne Gutiérrez- Guimarães, Lucía Agirre, and Maite Borjabad, curators of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

Sponsored by BBK
All galleries in the Museum

An ambitious exhibition showcasing the Collection, which will take over all the Museum galleries in a thematical presentation of its artistic holdings, tracing new connections between multiple languages and highlighting major milestones and tendencies in the history of modern art, represented paradigmatically by works from the Collection. This show is exceptional in many ways, including large-format and site-specific pieces that will be presented publicly once more.

Free Admission Weekend [October 22 and 23]
Just as every year around the dates of its grand opening, and with even more reason to do so this year, the Museum will be open with free admission on Saturday October 22 and Sunday October 23.

Artistic Action with Museum Members [25 October] Technology Supporter LG-Oled
Museum Atrium

The Museum will be hosting a new performance action by Argentinian artist Cecilia Bengolea as a way to thank Members for their close relationship and loyalty over these past 25 years. The action will include the participation of some 450 Museum Members.

Known for fusing video installation art and performance, Bengolea is presenting a site-specific action in the Museum’s most iconic space, the Atrium. Accompanied by four dancers and a DJ, the action combines dancehall beats with a visual journey through archive footage, which will show the construction of Frank Gehry’s building, as well as avatars that will embody the materials that make up the Museum and some of its works of art. Mist, alabaster, and titanium take on corporeal form on the screens and will dance in a collective choreography with dancers and participating Museum Members.

Merging video and performance, and through scanning and rendering processes, the artist’s body in movement mutates into creatures from worlds of fiction. A device will replicate this methodology live during the performance, so that participants and the collective body they form are reflected on the screens, turned into material avatars as well.

Denontzako BBKartea for All [October 25–December 2] Guggenheim Museum Bilbao

The Denontzako BBKartea for All campaign, to celebrate the Museum’s 25th Anniversary, will be running from October 25 to December 2. Through this initiative, all Basque citizens can visit the Museum for free.

Sponsored by BBK, one of the Museum’s Strategic Trustees since its foundation, this initiative is a way of involving the community and thanking them for giving the Museum a firm grounding, the key to its success over these years.

Tickets can be booked from October onwards.

Recital by Joaquín Achúcarro [November 3] Museum Atrium

Within the context of the Museum’s Anniversary and coinciding with Bilbao-born great pianist Joaquín Achúcarro’s 90th birthday, the maestro will be giving a recital in the Atrium, remembering his unforgettable performance at the grand opening of the Museum in 1997.

Art & Music Concerts [November 19, December 17] Museum Atrium

The Museum presents a new musical proposal, the Art & Music concert series, with cutting-edge figures in the context of the Museum’s architecture and exhibitions. This initiative, which will be launched in November as part of the Anniversary celebrations, will also run throughout next year. The first two editions taking place in November and December will include two major proposals: Mastodonte and El Niño de Elche & Refree, respectively.

Immersions [December 3 through 11] Museum Atrium

As the finishing touch to the Anniversary celebrations, Immersions will be a free show of large-scale mapping projections with light and sound offering the public an immersive experience. The show is sponsored by Seguros Bilbao, a company of Grupo Catalana Occidente, and Trustee of the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao Museum since its foundation.

A continuation of Reflections, the spectacle created by British studio 59 Productions on the facade of the Frank Gehry–designed building for the Museum’s 20th Anniversary in 2017, Immersions now takes the history of the city and of the Museum inside the building, where the organic architectural forms of the Atrium will act as a canvas to the projections.

Following the major milestones that have marked the history of the Museum, and inspired on the original soundtrack, Immersions will put the audience at the center of a unique all-encompassing light and sound show, turning them from mere observers into participants in an immersive sensory experience.

Tickets can be booked through the Museum’s website in November.

2022 FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy in Portugal VIA 360 MAGAZINE

FIM Enduro x Portugal

2022 FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy set for Santiago Do Cacem, Portugal

The 2022 edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy (EVT) is set to fire into life later this week when more than two hundred riders descend on Santiago Do Cacem in southern Portugal for the four-day festival of classic enduro racing. With competitors coming from across Europe as well as the USA and Canada, fifteen nations will be represented as the event reunites old friends and celebrates the very best enduro motorcycles from the early 1970s through to the early 1990s.

•    Santiago Do Cacem, Portugal hosts 2022 FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy
•    Four days of competition include opening speed test, two-day enduro, and final MX
•    More than 200 riders from 15 nations ready to compete over four days

Stepping forward to organize an international enduro competition once again after successfully delivering a round of the 2021 FIM EnduroGP World Championship, the 2022 FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy will be organized by Clube Motor Sport de Vila Nova de Santo André, in collaboration with Município de Santiago do Cacém and Freguesia de Vila Nova de Santo André, and with the support of both the FIM and the FMP (Federação Portuguesa de Motociclismo).

First run in 2016 during the FIM International Six Days Enduro in Spain, due to the high level of interest in the event the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy became a stand-alone competition in 2021. A successful move, the event attracted a huge entry with enduro and rally legend Stephane Peterhansel taking the overall event win, leading Team France to a commanding Vintage Veterans Trophy win over Team Germany and Team Spain.

This year’s event will fire into life on Wednesday as competitors complete administrative and technical controls before taking part in the event’s official opening ceremony in Santiago Do Cacem. Next up will be the Acceleration Test, on Thursday afternoon, where riders will ride as fast as they can in order to highlight the top speed of their classic bikes, as was commonplace in the International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) for many decades.

On Friday and Saturday, competitors will be put through their paces in no uncertain terms as they first face two laps of a sixty-five-kilometer course on Friday before taking on two laps of a seventy-kilometer course on Saturday. With each full day of racing featuring three different special tests per lap, those set on topping the time sheets will have numerous opportunities to do themselves and their nation proud.

The FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy features two main classes – the Vintage Veterans Trophy for national teams of three riders all above the age of fifty, and the Vintage Silver Vase Club category for three riders all above the age of forty. Individual participants are also permitted. Motorcycles competing in the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy are split into five main categories – Classic 75, Classic 79, Classic 83, Open 1986, and Open 1991.

With eight countries entered in the Vintage Veterans Trophy class at the 2022 FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy, on paper at least it looks like Team Italy’s trio of riders – Enrico Tortoli (KTM), Giorgio Grasso (KTM), and Tullio Pellegrinelli (Puch) – will be hard to beat. But with Germany, France, Spain, and many other nations all taking to the start line hoping to challenge for success, the 2022 edition of the FIM Enduro Vintage Trophy looks set to be one of the most competitive yet.

2022 FIM Enduro Vintage trophy schedule

  • 28/09 (Wednesday): Administrative/Technical Control and Opening Ceremony
  • 29/09 (Thursday): Administrative/Technical Control and Acceleration Test (Santo André)
  • 30/10 (Friday): 2 laps with 65 km (3 special test/lap)
  • 01/10 (Saturday): 2 laps with 70 km (3 special test/lap)
  • 02/10 (Sunday):  Final MX and Prize Giving Ceremony

Chanel West Coast attends CLMBR event IN WeHo via 360 MAGAZINE.

CLMBR Fitness

CLMBR is a vertical exercise machine that works on both the upper and lower body, “…the best kind of primal movements that a person can do,” according to founder Avrum Elmakis, who was on hand to host the event.

CLMBR Fitness celebrated its elaborate grand opening in West Hollywood on Thursday. Chanel West Coast dazzled the crowd on the red carpet with her curvaceous baby body. She wasn’t the only head-turner at this immersive activation. Other notable guests were invited: Luke Rockhold, Dom Fenison, Carter Jenkins, Maximilian Acevedo, Brandon Graves, artist James Goldcrown, Bunnie Barbie, CJ Hammond, Hari Tahov, Jules Liesl, B. Thompson, Nick Pfeifer, Shaka Smith, Nicole Steen, Skinner Jones, Lucas Dell, and Logan Noh.

While Team CLMBR demonstrated cutting-edge technology and equipment, many guests indulged in generous servings of libations and vegan bite-sized Mexican tapas, provided by Sugar Taco. A variety of adult beverages were served: Lobos 1707 Tequila, Nue Vodka, and Henderson Whiskey. Caliwater cactus and PATH water were among the non-alcoholic beverages available.

This workout is a low-impact, total-body routine designed by some of the most prominent members of the entertainment industry. And, obviously, it was fabricated for the affluent, high-powered executives who have little time for anything less than results: Jay Z, LeBron James, Pitbull, Ryan Seacrest, Oliver Trevena, and Novak Djokovic.

This cutting-edge facility, located directly above the once-disheveled Ramada Hotel in Santa Monica, will provide group and one-on-one instruction to the health-conscious consumer. With memberships priced just under $3,000, it’s already in direct competition with rival fitness clubs like SoulCycle and Equinox.

Post-pandemic, those clubhouses have been plagued by poor management, daunting customer service, and dwindling amenities, leaving the market wide open for new entrants.

Rini Jain, South Asian Content Creator and American Influencer Award Nominee, attends New York Fashion Week, culminating with an exclusive by 360 MAGAZINE.

Rini Jain Storms New York Fashion Week

Creator and fashion influencer/model, Rini Jain, covers this year’s New York Fashion Week with 360 Magazine. We sat down with her to hear all the hot takes and highlights on one of fashion’s biggest weeks.

What shows did you attend at this year’s NYFW?

I was thrilled to be a part of some amazing shows this season like  Pamella Roland, Dennis Basso, Homolog, Selkie, Tia Adeola, Rebecca Minkoff, Tiffany Brown, June79, Melke, Revolve, Bruce Glen, Deity, Leonardo 5th Avenue, and more. I also attended Vogue Magazine’s 130th Anniversary Celebration hosted by Vogue Club. I made sure to catch the glimpses online for some of the other shows that I was invited to, but missed attending those due to conflicts, NYC weather, and traffic like Frederick Anderson, Cucculelli Shaheen, Willy Chavarria, Blonds, KGL (and a few more).

How was this season different from the last season?

The number of runways, presentations, after-parties, and private viewings was clearly high enough to make up for two pandemic years. The waiting lines and guest lists both seemed more inflated than in the past seasons. Even though the central location of NYFW remained Spring Studios, there were more shows this season that were offsite which made it extremely difficult to commute from one show to the other. There were more Influencers and Content Creators in attendance, highlighting how digital content has been instrumental in helping brands move products. This season, I personally had a record number of show invites and collaborations with designers to wear their pieces during NYFW. Also, NYFW was more international this season with two major Italian houses in the list – Fendi and Marni.

Who were you most excited to see and why?

I was most excited for Pamella Roland and Dennis Basso not only because I truly relate to the unapologetic glamour and glitz in their collections, but also since it was the milestone year and show for both of them. It has been 20 years, and 40 years for Pamella DeVos and Dennis Basso respectively since they launched their own fashion labels. While Pamella Roland set was inspired by the streets of New York with a backdrop that looked like a flower stand, Dennis Basso showcase was at the incredible ballroom at the Pierre Hotel with no dearth of celebrities in attendance – everybody from Martha Stewart, to Kris Jenner, to Carmen Dell’Orefice, and more.

What looks stood out to you?

There were so many. Amongst the shows I attended – Dennis Basso’s furry outerwear, and Pamella Roland’s feather detailing was interestingly used in the pieces. I loved the rich colors and dramatic, avant-garde designs of Melke. I am totally eyeing the ruffles, bows, frills, oversized collars, and bags that resembled pillows from the Selkie showcase. Also, I loved Tia Adeola’s take on knitted fabrics, cutouts, and body-cons. From some of the other shows – I absolutely loved Tom Ford’s look for Bella and Gigi Hadid, and the hot pink suit was so stunning. The patchwork pieces at Coach, and the purple and green sequin look at Fendi certainly caught my eye. Peter Do’s opening look was absolutely magical, a perfect example of fluid tailoring. I also loved Tibi’s stab at menswear, especially the full-denim perfectly baggy look. Marni’s ultra-flared velvet jeans featuring artwork of Flaminia Veronesi was a highlight for sure.

Were there recurring themes or trends that caught your eye?

Fringes, Cargo Trousers, Sequins, Feathers, plenty of Back-to-School looks, and the color Purple were definitely some of the common trends amongst many shows.

Which designers did you wear?

I wore pieces from Ivan Young, Oroy Shakhidi, Bani Pasricha, Kerry Parker, Nirmooha, MAM, Misa Harada, Uncuffed Leather.

Why did you pick those designers?

I chose a mix of designers and brands that are creatively different and unique from each other, represent different visions, cultures, the pieces that will allow me to experiment and style the looks uniquely, and allow me to present my personal style and creativity. I relate so much to the flamboyance and elegance of the pieces from Ivan Young. At the same time, I was so intrigued with how uniquely Oroy Shakhidi constructs a piece, and its opulent finishes. MAM, Misa Harada, Kerry Parker are some of the brands that allow me to bring that element of “statement” in my looks with their accessories. With Uncuffed Leather, I relate so much with the immigrant story of the designer Olga Barsky, and its vision to create pieces and accessories with sustainable leather. Every season, I make sure I wear a few pieces that represent my South Asian/Indian roots, hence Nirmooha and Bani Pasricha, that I absolutely love.

What was your vision behind each look?

I usually get inspired from previous eras, mannequins, runways, movies, art and more for my looks. You may describe my style “Mix Match” because I love to create my own looks that are inspired from multiple things at the same time. If I had to describe my look for the Selkie show this season, I would  say “Barbie meets Royal Family”, where I paired a Ruffles Pink Checkered set with feathers details, with gloves that had flower details and a Hat to give it a Royal Family vibe. For another look, I created a modern Audrey Hepburn by pairing a black velvet dress with power shoulders, paired with a statement pearl body necklace. For shows like Dennis Basso, and Pamella Roland, I created an extremely sophisticated, flamboyant, elegant, decadent vibe that totally fit into the vibe of the shows I was attending, by wearing a statement dress embellished with ostrich feathers.

Were any of your outfits influenced by your South Asian background?

Yes, absolutely! I make it a point to represent my culture and showcase amazing Indian designers through at least one of my looks every season. This time I wore a stunning saree from Nirmooha and styled it in a very unique way with gold accessories like gloves, handbag, and vintage earrings. The outfit was an absolute show stealer and garnered compliments from the attendees of the event hosted by Afterpay, the official partners of NYFW, and was also covered by various media houses including Getty Images.

Why is it important for you to attend Fashion Week?

I am a Fashion Student at heart. I learn something new from every single show I attend, and get inspired to create better. It is a huge opportunity for me to connect with amazing brands and designers, network with like-minded people, have fun and get more creative and experimental with my own outfits during the Fashion Week.

Pre-Save Stagger EP HERE, Stream “FYB” HERE

After emerging as one of the most quietly disruptive forces in culture, GRAMMY® Award-nominated alternative insurgent Poppy will unleash her new Stagger EP on October 14, 2022. It notably marks her debut for LAVA Records/Republic Records.

She comes out of the gate swinging with the new single “FYB. Powered by a thrash-and-burn punk riff, a barrage of distortion grinds up against her insidiously melodic delivery. It cycles through a hypnotic hook as she repeats, “Fuck the world, it’ll just fuck you back. A fittingly captivating visual accompanies the track. In the clip, Poppy walks on a spinning animated globe under the glow of lively hand-drawn planets.

“FYB” stands out as something of a clarion call for the multi-faceted maverick as it sets the stage for a whole lot more to come this year and in 2023.

Stream “FYB” HERE & Watch the visual HERE

Next up, she supports The Smashing Pumpkins and Jane’s Addiction on one of the fall’s hottest alternative rock tours, beginning October 2nd through November 19th. ABOUT POPPY:
Poppy has no regard for convention, genres, labels, assumptions, or expectations. Instead, she eclipses all of them in the flames of an intensely uncompromising creative spirit with no rival. By burning everything down and building a vision of her own out of the ashes, she represents a future where high art and high fashion equal subversion of the highest order. Following a quiet grind, she reached critical mass with I Disagree. Beyond tallying 100 million-plus streams, it concluded 2020 on year-end lists by Upset [#1], Revolver, Popbuzz, Kerrang!, and more as she graced the covers of NME, Revolver, Upset, Kerrang!, and Tush. Standout “BLOODMONEY” even garnered a GRAMMY® nod for “Best Metal Performance, lifting her to rarified air as the “first-ever solo female artist nominated in the category. At the same time, she electrified the stage at the GRAMMY® Awards. Throughout 2021, Poppy only maintained her momentum with the EAT (NXT Soundtrack) EP, Flux, and So Mean EP. She steered the vision entirely—from the aesthetic to personally directing multiple videos. Infiltrating the mainstream, she has notably collaborated with Victor and Rolf on the Flowerbomb fragrance with L’Oreal and with KOI Footwear on two pairs of signature shoes. Casting a shadow over multiple forms of media, she has also penned two graphic novels, Genesis One and Poppy’s Inferno, and her short film I’m Poppy premiered at Sundance Film Festival during 2019.

As always, she only looks forward with the release of Stagger EP and the dawn of a new chapter unlike anything else you’ve heard, seen, or felt before. Poppy is here.

Chace's New Single "MARIYA" via 360 MAGAZINE

CHACE – MARIYA

CHINA’S BIGGEST DANCE ARTIST CHACE RELEASES NEW SINGLE/VIDEO “MARIYA”

LISTEN HERE WATCH HERE

Today Chinese electronic producer/singer-songwriter, Chace releases the brooding track “Mariya” off his forthcoming debut album. “Mariya” comes with an accompanying eerie visual
“Mariya” continues to tease the overall mysterious tone of the album following the previous single
In My Head.” It contains a mood rendering and psychedelic inducing tonality. On “Mariya” Chace does it all. He arranged the music, wrote the lyrics, and sings and producers on it.

The whole song shows the charm of “Mariya” from the central perspective of the suitor seen in the video. The deep and magnetic voice creates an empty and blurred atmosphere with the bouncing light.

With each track, Chace continues to pave his way as one of the forerunners of a forward-thinking generation of artists in Asia melding Western influences with their own sounds. A self-taught producer and songwriter, he has collaborated with TchamiYellow Claw, and Moksi. When he was 17 years old, he became the first Chinese DJ to play Belgium’s iconic Tomorrowland festival in 2017. Since releasing his debut EP DestinationChace’s music: a delirious mix of evocative house, UK garage, and pop has earned him praise from tastemakers across the world. Billboard dubbed him a “pop and dance music prodigy,” COMPLEX called him a “Rapidly rising producer,” and VICE stated that he’s “The face of China’s rising EDM scene.” In 2021, DJ Mag China named him producer of the year.
