Set for release in 2023, A Reckoning is primed to be a reflective record capturing the macro reckonings that impact our world around environment, race, feminism health and patriarchy through the eyes of the archteypal Mother. But at the heart of her record is the war with the micro reckonings that Kimbra faces internally. It’s the most sonically autonomous and confessionally raw she has ever been, finding influence in everything from modern movie soundtracks to electronic and industrial worlds. The album was first imagined in 2018, during Kimbra’s tour with co-producer Ryan Lott of the band Son Lux, who recently scored A24’s Everything Everywhere All At Once.

On “Save Me,” Kimbra shares a moment of deep yearning set on a bed of unsettling warped pianos. She explores how two internal realities can be present at once : chaos and contemplation, rage and still life-force. Inspired by a singular moment, she searches her insecurities with hopes that someone will save her from herself.

The track is brought to new light in the music video that shows the pop singer in Iceland, traversing dangerous, surreal terrains as she seeks to heal her relationship to self, to other women, and finally to our Mother Earth.

The Nathan Hochman for California Attorney General “Experience Matters: Stop The Spiral of Lawlessness” nine-day, statewide bus tour is stopping in Venice Beach on Wednesday morning for a press conference where he will announce the endorsement of the co-founder of Death Row Records, Michael Harris, and be joined by a representative of the LA Sheriff’s Office, and a mother who lost her only child to fentanyl poisoning.

The Press Conference was held on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at 9:30 a.m. at Venice Beach (2100 Ocean Front Walk, Venice, CA 90291). Members attended include Attorney General candidate Nathan Hochman, Co-Founder of Death Row Records Michael Harris, Lieutenant Geoffrey Deedrick from the Sheriff’s Homeless Outreach Services Team, and Perla Mendoza who lost her only child to fentanyl poisoning.

About Wizkid:

Grammy award winning singer/songwriter Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun (aka Wizkid) began his career in music when he was just 11 years old in Lagos, Nigeria. His first record, Lil Prinz, was recorded in 2001 in collaboration with Glorious Five, a group consisting of Balogun and his friends from church. In 2006, he started pursuing music full-time, at first collaborating with various Nigerian pop acts including OJB Jezreel, Naeto C, and Banky W. It also featured Balogun’s global breakthrough track “Ojuelegba.” Not only did the single cement his status as one of Nigeria’s biggest pop acts, it was also picked up and remixed by Drake and Skepta, thrusting Wizkid into the international spotlight. In return, Wizkid appeared on Drake‘s 2016 smash single “One Dance.” 

In March 2017, it was announced that Wizkid had signed a major deal with RCA and Sony International, which released his third LP, Sounds From the Other Side, later that year. A handful of singles appeared in advance of the album, including “Daddy Yo”, “Sweet Love” and “Come Closer”, and were successful; the latter is certified Gold in the USA and the UK . 

Following his impressive international campaign, Wizkid refocused energy on his Starboy imprint in Africa. From releasing viral records like “Soco” with his affiliate acts to securing partnerships with brands such as Puma, Wizkid has solidified himself as a millennial pioneer for African entertainment. British pop singer-songwriter Maisie Peters has unveiled the official music video for her new track, “Not Another Rockstar”. Shot from the imagined lens of a paparazzi camera, the Avesta Keshtmand-directed video finds Maisie and her rockstar boyfriend trying to avoid the invasion of privacy, but as Maisie tries to hide, her fame-hungry boyfriend has an ulterior motive. Written by Maisie, alongside Ines Dunn (Mimi Webb, Griff) and producer Joe Rubel, “Not Another Rockstar” follows a series of recent fan-focused track drops including “Cate’s Brother“, “Blonde“and “Good Enough“, each of which see her explore different stages of relationships with intimate but typically relatable tact. Upon the release of “Not Another Rockstar” earlier this month, the new single garnered praise from Billboard, Uproxx, Entertainment Tonight and more.

Just back from supporting Ed Sheeran’s 54-date European stadium tour, Maisie was recently announced as the opener on select dates of Ed’s North American Stadium tour for summer 2023. Next month, Maisie will return to the states for her “i’m telling the whole of america tour.” The 5-date North American headline run kicks off on November 4th with a sold-out show at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and makes stops in Toronto (SOLD OUT), Chicago (VENUE UPGRADED), and San Francisco (SOLD OUT) before wrapping at The Wiltern in Los Angles on November 14th. Late-night talk show host and Las Vegas-raised Jimmy Kimmel will reopen his comedy club November 3, 2022, at The LINQ Promenade with a lineup of comedians, including Gina Brillon and Luenell. Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club is located across from Brooklyn Bowl and near the High Roller – the tallest observation wheel in North America.

Together, they make up Pompey Entertainment, charged with running the operations and management of Jimmy Kimmel’s Comedy Club. Located at the heart of the Las Vegas Strip, the club will showcase an extraordinary roster of acts scheduled by Kimmel and Costa based on their deep reach into the entertainment community. The 8,000-square-foot venue delivers the ultimate comedy club experience with exceptional attention to detail, from food to specialty cocktails, the stage and a fun-filled atmosphere.
