Girl Vow × NYC Annual Candle Light Vigil

Girl Vow, Inc. Presents the Second NYC Annual Candle Light Vigil for Missing and Murdered Women and Girls

Girl Vow & The National Taskforce for Missing & Murdered Women & Girls of Color is hosting the Second NYC Annual Candle Light Vigil for Missing and Murdered Women and Girls on November 4, 2022, from 5:45 PM – 7:00 PM to be held at the City Hall Park located at Broadway near Chambers Street.

In light of so many recent missing girls of color in New York and around the nation, Girl Vow is launching a task force, consisting of a well-cultivated team, to tackle the issues head-on: why are our girls going missing, how can we take these important issues more seriously, and also address preventative measures? Our bill S6924 and A8347 is written to examine the perplexing gender-based issues that have been overlooked for far too long.

As reported by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in 2019, there were 421,394 missing children in the database. Almost 75% of those missing children were females, 205,802 were black females. Latinx are statistically invisible and considered white.

The National Taskforce for Missing and Murdered Women and Girls of Color is a response to solving the pervasive silence when girls/women of color are missing, murdered, and unnoticed. Our mission is to organize to advance beyond the issues of colorism, racial, economic, and structural oppression with communities at the helm of change.

It’s sad that we even live in a time when this topic is even being discussed but what’s even sadder is the look in these girls’ eyes when they truly believe that they are not as important to the community or even to society in a whole because of the color of there skin. Why do our girls have to feel as if they are not important? Why do our girls have to strive more fight stronger and work harder just to survive in life? Why do families of girls in our community feel alone?

It is our responsibility as a community to take care of each other. The silence that is present when women and girls of color go missing, is not acceptable. We must amplify our voice together to effectively raise awareness, in addition to exercising all necessary resources to combat this issue.

TENNESSEE MUSIC PATHWAYS via 360 MAGAZINE

Six new markers on “TENNESSEE MUSIC PATHWAYS”

FOLLOW THE MUSIC: TENNESSEE DEPARTMENT OF TOURIST DEVELOPMENT UNVEILS SIX NEW MARKERS ON “TENNESSEE MUSIC PATHWAYS”

Howard Armstrong, G.B. Grayson, Jo Walker-Meador, Craig Morgan and Little David Wilkins Honored for Their Significant Contributions That Shaped Music History

Tennessee Department of Tourist Development (TDTD) honored music icons Howard Armstrong, G.B. Grayson, Jo Walker-Meador, Craig Morgan and Little David Wilkins with the unveiling of six new markers on the “Tennessee Music Pathways” at locations across the state. Local and state leaders, family and friends and music industry executives gathered to celebrate their significant contributions to music history in Tennessee.

A keeper of African American string tradition, Howard Armstrong was a multi-instrumentalist with an extensive repertoire. He was also a multilinguist, painter and a teller of folk tales and anecdotes drawn from his long life and career. Armstrong was honored on Oct. 18 with a marker in downtown LaFollette. His son, Ralphe Armstrong, and Mayor Jack Lunch were in attendance.

TDTD and Johnson County Center of the Arts honored G.B. Grayson with a marker on Oct. 18 in downtown Mountain City with special performances by Kody Norris and Kenny Price. The new marker is the latest addition to the “Musical Heritage Mural Mile” walking tour through downtown Mountain City. The self-guided mural tour connects Johnson County residents and visitors alike to a storied history of authentic Appalachian music, including Clarence “Tom” Ashley, Blind Fiddler, G.B. Grayson, who first recorded the Ballad of Tom Dooley, plus Fred Price and Clint Howard, who introduced the young Doc Watson to the world.

Alongside the City of Orlinda and Robertson County, Tennessee Tourism honored country music industry pioneer Jo Walker-Meador on Oct. 21 with a new marker on the Tennessee Music Pathways. As executive director of the Country Music Association (CMA) from 1962 until 1991, Jo Walker-Meador’s career mirrored the growth of the industry she led. She became a tireless proselytizer for country music. Under her leadership, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the CMA Awards, and Fan Fair (later CMA Music Festival, now known as CMA Fest) were established, in addition to many industry initiatives.

On Oct. 18, TDTD and Dickson County honored country music star Craig Morgan with the unveiling of a “Tennessee Music Pathways” marker next door to the Clement Museum Hotel. Craig Morgan, a longtime resident of Dickson, attended the unveiling and held a book signing for his new memoir, “God, Family, Country.” A multi-faceted entertainer, Morgan has made a name for himself as a country music icon, TV personality, celebrated outdoorsman and patriotic Army veteran. With over 25 charted Billboard songs, Morgan is widely known for massive hits “This Ole Boy,” ”Almost Home,” “Redneck Yacht Club,” “That’s What I Love About Sunday,” “Little Bit of Life,” “Wake Up Lovin’ You,” “International Harvester” and “Bonfire.” A proud member of the Grand Ole Opry since 2008, he has made over 250 appearances on the hallowed stage.

On Tuesday, Oct. 25, Little David Wilkins was honored in Parsons with a new marker. As a country singer, songwriter and entertainer, Wilkins scored 17 country hits. His composition, “Coming On Strong,” was a No. 11 pop hit for Brenda Lee in 1966, and he wrote songs for artists as diverse as soul singer Percy Sledge; country star Conway Twitty; and folk-pop group, the Serendipity Singers. Wilkins was also a nightclub performer and worked as a supporting artist to several major country stars.

Nearly every town in Tennessee has a story when it comes to music. Tennessee Music Pathways is a guide that connects visitors to the rich musical heritage of our state. From the largest cities to the smallest communities, the Pathways stretches across all 95 counties and features hundreds of landmarks and attractions from the seven genres of music that call Tennessee home: blues, bluegrass, country, gospel, soul, rockabilly and rock ‘n’ roll. Everyone knows about Elvis Presley in Memphis, the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and Dolly Parton’s East-Tennessee roots; but there is a deeper story to be told. From rockabilly to sacred music – our musical history is statewide, diverse and deserves to be heard. This is what makes Tennessee the “Soundtrack of America.”

Malka Nedivi - Transcending Matter via 360 MAGAZINE

Malka Nedivi – Transcending Matter

“Nedivi’s most singular gift is for transforming the literal and metaphorical artifacts of ruin into objects and experiences of folkloric, fantastical, and hypnotically eccentric beauty.” – Shayna Nys Dambrot, Huff Post, Dec 2017

Malka Nedivi’s current solo exhibition Transcending Matter is on view from Sunday November 13 to Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Matter Studio Gallery, 5080 W. Pico Blvd., Los Angeles. An opening reception will be held on Nov. 13 from 4-8 pm.  The gallery will host an artist talk on Dec 4, 2-5pm where the artist will present a performance excerpt from her upcoming one-woman show “A Story About Shoes” at 3pm. A closing reception is scheduled for Sunday, December 11 from 2-5 pm.

Malka Nedivi’s Transcending Matter is the visually articulated story of reclaiming lost family history and healing for herself and her ancestors. It is an artist’s response to immense life challenges of generational trauma, coupled with immigration’s loss of grounding, and complicated familial relationships.

Nedivi began creating large sculptures and collage paintings following the death of her mother in 2002. These works explore the emotional connection she had with her parents – both survivors of the Holocaust.  Born in the newly established State of Israel after her parents immigrated from Poland, Nedivi was raised in a family without ancestral mooring-where none of their history was discussed and remains largely unknown. Artmaking became her method for filling the gaps created by their lack of familial past.

“Everything that I use is old. I am giving the materials new life.” is how she describes the mixed media ingredients of her work.   In repurposing discarded materials, she reclaims and restores diminished significance.  Her resulting collaged figures combine Figurative Expressionism with the directness and accessibility of folk art.  Nedivi’s process consists of layering and molding fabric, paper, and other mixed media in a way that is reminiscent of how her mother collected materials, perpetually patching and mending holes in worn garments.   She sees her art as her way of mending the holes in her own life.

Malka Nedivi is a multi-disciplinary artist living and working in Los Angeles. She was born in Rehovot, Israel, in 1952, an only child to parents who survived the Holocaust and emigrated from Poland. Studying Theater and Literature at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, she directed plays and taught theater. In 1980, she moved to Los Angeles, CA, with her husband and son to study film at UCLA. She worked as an Assistant Film Editor from 1987-1992.

Malka has an extensive exhibition history including solo shows at BOA Art Gallery and the National Council of Jewish Women in Los Angeles. Malka’s work has been reviewed in publications such as the Huff Post, Beverly Press, Diversions LA, Filling the Negative Space, and Trebuchet Magazine

The First Advance Single From Juanes’ Highly Anticipated 2023 New Album, “AMORES PROHIBIDOS”  Represents The Start Of A New Creative Cycle For The 27 Time GRAMMY & LATIN GRAMMY Winner – Resulting From An Ardent Songwriter Turning Inward During The Pandemic To Reexamine Life, Love, Family and More of His Own Emotional Intricacies

Colombian Rock Superstar JUANES is set to release his new single“AMORES PROHIBIDOS” on November 10th – marking the first listen fans will have into the new musical growth begun by the globally renowned artist following his recent GRAMMY & LATIN GRAMMY winning ORIGEN  album and world tour. Whereas ORIGEN brought Juanes back to re-embrace his earliest and strongest rock music roots through reinterpretations of some of the most influential songs from others that shaped his musical vision, this natural new creative cycle meshes that continued return to electric guitar rock with a deep dive back into his own long-praised songwriting skill that turned inward in focus during the recent pandemic period.

This resulting two years of writing and recording has left both the artist and his close collaborating producer (and fellow multiple Grammy winner) Sebastian Krys filled with excitement about soon sharing this new level creativity as a full album release in early 2023, (marking Juanes’ first all-original album  since 2019’s “Más Futuro Que Pasado”).

“I believe Juanes has reconnected with his fearless innovative songwriting that defined him early on in his career. This song sounds 100% Juanes and is simultaneously unlike anything he has done before.  Juanes has always been an innovator. Writing during the pandemic made him connect with his day to day life. His Children, his wife, his music, his fears, and passions. It is apparent to me that he has tapped into another level of musical exploration and curiosity which only a handful of artists ever achieve” – Sebastian Krys.

Leading up to the November 10th release of “AMORES PROHIBIDOS”(PRE-SAVE NOW)  Juanes has already begun taking fans inside his recent creative process for the new song through a series of brief TikTok videos (idea/lyrics/melody/ riff/beat/keyboards) that have already generated over nine million views and can be seen here.   Watch Juanes’ social accounts in the upcoming days for more sneak peeks into the song and new video.

(“AMORES PROHIBIDOS  is co-produced by Juanes and Sebastian Krys, asst. producer: Emmanuel Briceño.

THE BALVENIE SIXTY by THE BALVENIE via 360 MAGAZINE

THE BALVENIE SIXTY

THE BALVENIE RELEASES ITS OLDEST AND RAREST WHISKY EVER; THE BALVENIE SIXTY

The release marks the 60th anniversary of Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE

  • The Balvenie launches The Balvenie Sixty. A single cask from 1962 marking the distillery’s oldest and rarest Whisky released for sale to date
  • Only 71 bottles being released globally
  • The bottles celebrates Malt Master, David C. Stewart MBE’s six decade career at the distillery

The Balvenie, today announces The Balvenie Sixty, a single cask bottling from 1962, marking the distillery’s oldest and rarest whisky released for sale to date.  The extremely rare bottling marks the anniversary of industry icon and renowned Malt Master, David C. Stewart MBE, who is celebrating six decades at the distillery – making him the longest serving Malt Master in industry history.

Throughout his time at The Balvenie, David C. Stewart MBE has developed unrivaled knowledge and pioneered techniques that have had a profound impact on the whisky making processes used today; most notably his developments around ‘cask finishes’,  which led to a new way of creating flavor in whisky and a technique adopted in whisky making the world over.

A fitting tribute to David’s esteemed career, this single cask was selected by The Balvenie’s Kelsey McKechnie, who has been mentored by Stewart for the past four years.  “I have learned so much from David at work. His mentorship has made a profound impact on me and finding a cask to fit such an incredible character in the Distillery’s history is a great honor.”

The cask selected is complex, vibrant and lively.  Described by Kelsey “on the nose the whisky has a mesmerizing array of autumnal aromas; lavender, heather and bracken. Whilst rich toffee, roasted coffee and beautifully layered oak dominate the palate. The flavor evolves with time revealing bursts of cloves, nutmeg, charred oak and candied orange in an exceptional long lasting finish”

Malt Master David C. Stewart MBE commented: “I started at the distillery in 1962, as a whisky stocks clerk, this liquid; a new make spirit was filled into a collection of traditional European Oak Hogshead casks. For six decades it has rested and matured, now marking quite a poignant moment for me on my journey.’’

While the whisky itself makes an impression, the packaging resembles a work of art; made from glass, gold and brass.

The tube casing was designed to reflect layers of memories from David’ career.  With five layers each etched with personal anecdotes from influential individuals along David’s journey.  The sixth decade is the elegant bottle itself, made from hand-blown crystal and containing a quote from Kelsey McKechnie to represent this current decade, and the future generations of The Balvenie.

It is a perfectly layered, ethereal take on a lifetime of memories justly representing the significance of David’s career to The Balvenie and the whisky industry at large.

The Balvenie Sixty ABV is 42.4%, with a suggested retail price of $145,000. The Balvenie Sixty will be available in the U.S. in 2023 (final timing to be confirmed), in extremely limited quantities.

The Balvenie is dedicated to the five rare crafts that are used to create The Balvenie’s distinctive taste. It is the only distillery that still grows its own barley, uses traditional floor maltings and keeps both coppersmiths and coppers on site – making The Balvenie the most handcrafted of single malts. The Balvenie Single Malt Scotch Whisky is produced by William Grant & Sons Ltd, an award-winning independent family-owned distiller founded by William Grant in 1886 and today run by his direct descendants.

GRAND PRIX CARS × NFT

26 HISTORIC GRAND PRIX CARS TO BE RELEASED AS NFTs ATTACHED TO UNRIVALLED FAN EXPERIENCES

Grand Prix fever has swept the globe, spurred on by the likes of Drive to Survive and the rocketing superstar-status of Formula 1 drivers who are connecting with a global fandom like never before.

Now fans can own a slice of this addictive sport thanks to luxury publisher Opus, ‘F1 Supremo’ Bernie Ecclestone and rising Web 3.0 super-studio Glorious Digital – the trio that are launching an NFT collection called The Ecclestone Grand Prix Collectionwith utility that true motoring fans would kill for.

This collaboration comes with pedigree. Opus has worked with the likes of Prince, Usain Bolt, Manchester United, Ferrari, Pelé, Her Majesty the Queen, the World Boxing Council, Formula 1 and more. Bernie Ecclestone is the godfather of racing, known for building F1 into a heavyweight of sporting broadcasts globally. And Glorious Digital is making waves – within a year of conception the studio is working with some of the world’s most established brands including Wimbledon and the Nelson Mandela Foundation.

Together, they are releasing limited edition NFT artworks using the stunning Polaroid portraits of 26 of Ecclestone’s private collection of historic Grand Prix cars.

True fans of the sport will know how incredible this collection of cars is. Cars that have raised Grand Prix chequered flags, mastered by drivers and icons such as Jack Brabham, Enzo Ferrari, Bruce McLaren, Ettore Bugatti, James Hunt, Niki Lauda and Michael Schumacher.

Each NFT is created from giant Polaroid images produced by one of the world’s only working giant 20”x24” cameras (only five remain in the world). These cameras were originally built to photograph oil paintings and tapestries, capturing their incredible detail and finesse. The same exquisite finish is displayed beautifully in the 26 unique giant portrait photographs of these iconic Grand Prix cars.

The digital artworks will be released as two collections:

1. The Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection will be 26 digital artworks, one edition of each car, 26 unique one-of-one editions in total. Those lucky enough to secure one of these will also access priceless utility including:

o   An invitation to visit Bernie Ecclestone’s own racetrack.

o   Private tour of the 26 cars (want to look under the hood and sit in the cars?)

o   Lunch for the NFT owner and 12 of their friends, hosted by Bernie.

o   Receive the original Polaroid used to create their NFT, professionally stored, plus another authenticated copy to display at home.

o   Authenticated copy of the original Polaroid, for the owner to take home.

o   A copy of the Opus book valued from £7,500.

2. The Grand Prix Trilogy Collection will be somewhat more accessible, with 2600 one-of-one edition NFTs , again using the images of the 26 cars, but in a mixed set of three.

In a statement, Opus Chief Executive Karl Fowler said they’re excited to share a sense of ownership of these cars and photography artworks with fans who have followed Grand Prix history.

“We are extremely proud to be partnering with Glorious for what is a momentous event for Opus with our natural progression into the digital Web3 space and our inaugural NFT release with the Ecclestone Grand Prix & Grand Prix Trilogy Collections.

“The Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection has a truly special story, the romance of the large format camera, the first time this unique F1 Grand Prix car collection being captured in this way with so many incredible and historically important cars, we felt strongly that everyone should have the opportunity to appreciate and indeed own a part of the collection for themselves.

“What better way to reach a global fan base and community whilst retaining the beauty of the Grand Prix cars than through the digital medium of an NFT release.

“To be able to partner with the best in this field was the deciding factor for us and with Glorious leading the way in the NFT art arena we are super excited about this partnership release of this historically important NFT collection.”

Glorious Digital Chief Executive, Tim Harper, says it’s an honour to be working on a project that further immortalises motorsport history.

“Like the millions of fans around the world, we’ve become drawn to Formula 1 not only because we are fascinated by the current superstars and teams that we watch now, but also the intriguing individuals, teams and cars that came before them, which are woven into the fabric of the sport’s origins has become a joy. And now, thanks to Opus and Bernie, we are proud to be releasing artworks that have been inspired by that history,” says Harper.

Both the 2600 digital artwork NFTs that make up the Grand Prix Trilogy Collection and the Ecclestone Grand Prix Collection will be available to view at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix from 17 November.

The Grand Prix Trilogy Collection will be available to purchase from 17-30 November. Whilst the auction for the 26 one of ones will commence from 1-7 December. Both will be available on the Glorious Marketplace.

SUMMER WALKER : “LAST DAY OF SUMMER” SPED-UP

SUMMER WALKER RELEASES LAST DAY OF SUMMER (SPED-UP) VERSION

‘Last Day Of Summer’ Becomes First Sped-Up Album Ever Released By An Artist

Today, Summer Walker revamps her 2018 opus Last Day Of Summer project and releases Last Day Of Summer (Sped Up). The newer version comes after the TikTok success of “Karma,” which saw spikes in streams after fans sped up the older rendition at the start of 2022. TikTok influencer @whereisreese created the viral dance and helped propel the song into new success. The original song, which garnered 250-300k weekly global streams at the beginning of the year, reached a whopping 2 million after LVRN/Interscope Records re-released the sped-up song. “Karma” peaked at 4.1 million global weekly streams and reached gold status in August.

Other Summer songs which have found similar success after being sped up on TikTok and YouTube include “Shame,” “Deep,” and her Billboard smash hit “Girls Need Love (Remix)” featuring Drake. The latter began catching traction when Kehlani expressed her joy in the sped-up version, dubbing it her “new favorite sound.” Last Day of Summer is officially the first sped-up album to be released and is a result of the singer listening to her devoted fanbase, who found pleasure in revisiting her classic but in a newer way.

Last August, Summer released her Amazon Music Live EP Summer Series. The five-track offering includes live performances of fan-favorite Summer records, including “Over It,” “Playing Games,” “Session 32,” “Throw It Away,” and “Unloyal.”

Summer has enjoyed a string of stellar performances over the last few months, beginning with her sold-out concert, A Hot Summer Night, last June. She continued her fiery onslaught at London’s Wireless Festival, where her rousing effort amazed the crowd and left her stunned by their courteous reception. She continued her scorching summer by taking her talents to New York’s Hulu Theatre at the prestigious Madison Square Garden before performing at Detroit’s Fox Theatre. In recent months, Walker also landed prominent feature appearances alongside music heavyweights Kendrick Lamar (“Purple Hearts”) and The Weeknd (“Best Friend (Remix).”

TAYLOR SWIFT TOPS UK CHARTS

TAYLOR SWIFT SCORES NUMBER 1 ON THE UK OFFICIAL ALBUMS CHART WITH MIDNIGHTS

“ANTI-HERO” TOPS THE UK OFFICIAL SINGLES CHART

MIDNIGHTS IS THE UK’S FASTEST SELLING ALBUM OF 2022 AND ACCUMULATES THE BIGGEST FIRST WEEK VINYL SALES IN MODERN UK CHART HISTORY

“ANTI-HERO” IS THE BIGGEST SPOTIFY UK DEBUT FROM AN INTERNATIONAL ARTIST

TAYLOR BECOMES THE FIRST FEMALE ARTIST IN ALMOST A DECADE TO DEBUT AT NUMBER 1 ON BOTH UK CHARTS SIMULTANEOUSLY

Following a record-breaking week for Taylor Swift, her critically acclaimed tenth studio album Midnights tops the UK Official Albums Chart, while lead single “Anti-Hero” tops the UK Official Singles Chart.

Taylor’s Midnights is the fast-selling album of 2022 in the UK, with 204,000 sales, more than doubling her previous biggest opening week in the UK (with 1989 in 2014). Meanwhile, “Anti-Hero” is the Biggest Spotify UK debut from an international artist in history. Taylor is the first female artist to debut at Number 1 on both the UK Singles and Albums Charts simultaneously since Miley Cyrus in 2013.

Taylor also rewrites UK Official Charts history this week as Midnights accumulates the biggest first week vinyl sales since modern chart records began (in 1994). Midnights was certified gold in the UK after just two days of its release.

With nine consecutive Number 1 albums now under her belt, Taylor Swift sets a new all-time Official Chart record, generating the fastest succession of nine UK Number 1 albums of any female artist.

Earlier this week Taylor broke records across all the major music streaming platforms. She became Spotify’s “Most Streamed Artist in a Single Day”, while Midnights became Spotify’s “Most Streamed Album in a Single Day” (with 185M+ Streams). Taylor Swift now holds the top 5 biggest streaming debuts in Spotify’s global chart history. Midnights also broke the record for the biggest pop album of all time on Apple Music by first-day streams. Globally, Taylor’s Midnights has accumulated over 2.5 million album equivalents that includes over 1 billion streams, after scoring 67 #1’s on iTunes.

In the U.S., Midnights is already the best-selling album of 2022. It has sold over 1.4 million overall and over 1 million physical albums, with 500,000+ of that sum attributed to Vinyl sales. It has also accumulated the highest week 1 sales since Taylor’s Reputation in 2017 and is the biggest week 1 seller on vinyl since the ‘90s. While “Anti-Hero” became Taylor’s 55th #1 hit on iTunes singles – the most of any artist in history.

Midnights also marks a first for Taylor in Europe, as it sees her score her first ever Number 1 debut in the album charts of both France and Germany.

Right out of the gate, Midnights earned 5 star reviews from The Guardian, Rolling Stone, The Independent and more. It has already gathered some of the most enthusiastic and unanimous praise of her career to date from critics and fans alike.

“Midnights will make you feel as though you’re sleeping over at her house while she spills secrets and settles scores into the night.” – The Independent, Helen Brown

“5 Stars” – Rolling Stone, Brittany Spanos

“Her tenth album returns to the dazzling synth-pop of records like ‘1989’ and ‘Reputation,’ with lyrics caught between a love story and a revenge plot” – Rolling Stone, Brittany Spanos

“‘Midnights’ heralds the return of a pop-music mastermind.” – Los Angeles Times, Mikael Wood

“4 Stars” – The Sunday Times, Dan Cairns

“Swift’s leaning-in vocals and neat lyrical twists elevate her songs far above the pretenders that crowd round her.” – The Sunday Times, Dan Cairns

“4 Stars” – Rolling Stone UK, Mark Sutherland

“The latest remarkable album in Swift’s current white-hot streak gently presents itself as a sort of greatest hits composed of songs you’ve never heard before.” – Rolling Stone UK, Mark Sutherland

“4 Stars” – The Times, Will Hodgkinson

“Midnights appeals because, for all its modern touches, it is essentially an old-fashioned singer-songwriter album about human weakness.” – The Times, Will Hodgkinson

“4 Stars” – NME, Hannah Mylrea

“A shimmering return to pure pop.” – NME, Hannah Mylrea

“4 Stars” – The Telegraph, Neil McCormick

“The songs are strong. Indeed, I’d go as far as to say that Swift has never written a bad song…” – The Telegraph, Neil McCormick

“8/10” – Clash, Matthew Neale

“It may reasonably go on to be recognized as her best album to date, a reminder that magic prevails beyond the frustrations, fantasies and damnations she casts across her latest near-perfect body of work.” – Clash, Matthew Neale

“You’d be beyond cynical not to realize that there’s a real heart being exposed here, amid an adroitness for honest self-revelation that’s as canny as anything we’ve gotten out of a reigning superstar since John Lennon told us he didn’t believe in Beatles.” – Variety, Chris Willman

“Midnights is the mastermind’s ultimate power move” – Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield

“4 Stars” – The Irish Times, Ed Power

“4 Stars” – The i Newspaper, Kate Solomon

“On one of her most personally revealing albums yet, Taylor Swift invites us into a woozy, soft-focus world of self doubt and moonlit conversations. Midnights sounds and feels like a grown-up sequel to the synthy, ‘80s pop world of 1989; she is no longer the wide-eyed ingenue twirling onto the New York streets but a hardened adult with all the self-awareness (and liberal swearing) that goes with it.” – The i Newspaper, Kate Solomon

“5 Stars” – Dork, Abigail Firth

She’s consistently confessional, but ‘Midnights’ finds Taylor Swift at her most human.” – Dork, Abigail Firth

“4 Stars” – The Mail On Sunday, Tim De Lisle

“It’s breathy, twitchy and thoroughly catchy”– The Mail On Sunday, Tim De Lisle

“4 Stars”  The Observer, Kitty Empire

Poised between self-flagellation and pure bliss, Pastoral phase behind her, Swift is back in the city with an album of fascinating small-hours contemplation.”  The Observer, Kitty Empire

“4.5 Stars” – The Sun, Jacqui Swift

“The singer-songwriter knows just how to make her millions of fans happy” – The Sun, Jacqui Swift

“5 Stars” – Daily Star, James Cabooter

“Back to her confessional best, Taylor Swift’s 10th album Midnights is her crowning glory.” –  Daily Star, James Cabooter

“10/10” – Gigwise, Lucy Harbron

“The strongest reinvention we’ve seen from Taylor Swift in the most honest way.” – Gigwise, Lucy Harbron

“5 Stars” – The Sunday Mirror, James Cabooter

“This is as close as you get to pop perfection” – The Sunday Mirror, James Cabooter

“In the loneliness of the dark, Taylor is just as exposed, flawed and anxious as the rest of us. You can’t help but wonder what else might be keeping her up at night — here’s hoping she’ll tell us about it soon.” – i-D, Alim Kheraj

“4 Stars” – DIY Magazine, Ben Tipple

“In keeping with the record’s theme – thirteen tales of individual sleepless nights – it’s arguably her most candid release to date.” – DIY Magazine, Ben Tipple

“This makes Midnights the closest thing to a concept album Taylor Swift has ever created, and also lends a dreamlike, transient quality to the record as a whole.”- Consequence of Sound , Mary Siroky

“Despite the restless-slumber concept that drifts through its songs, a serene acceptance lurks beneath the singer’s 10th studio album.” – Entertainment Weekly, Marc Hirsh

“Atmospheric. Subtle. Introspective. Painful. Triumphant.” – HITS, Holly Gleason

“Swift uses Midnights as a way to rethink the sonic rhetoric of first-person storytelling and shake off habits that have served her artistically and commercially for more than a decade.” – NPR, Ann Powers

“8/10”  Hot Press, Paul Nolan

“Midnights sees Swift comfortably retain her status as one of modern pop’s most fascinating and compelling artists.” – Hot Press, Paul Nolan

“Taylor Swift releases the record of the year with ‘Midnights’” – Marie Claire, Bree Player

“Midnights might be her most relatable album yet, and it comes at a time where we all feel so disconnected. Politics has become farcical, the cost of living crisis means stress levels have never been higher, and we’re all healing from the fact we literally just came out of a pandemic. In a world of change, Taylor is my continuity, despite the fact she always surprises us.” – Stylist, Chloe Laws

“Much like 1989 before it, this album will stand the test of time, and will be enjoyed increasingly in the years to come.” – AV Club, Saloni Gajjar

“The new album finds the superstar bringing together the best of Folklore with the best of what came before.” – Slate, Carl Wilson
“She’s not only offering us her most personal reflections – a high bar in Swift’s world – but imparting them with poetic grace and an elevated level of storytelling.” – USA Today, Melissa Ruggieri

“Swift at her best, reminding you of her unparalleled ability to make any emotion feel universal.” – AP News, Elise Ryan

“Midnights is perhaps her most self-aware work to date (with some of her best writing to boot)…” – Paste, Ellen Johnson

“Midnights is Swift at her finest, using her quill/fountain/gel pens to write some of her most vulnerable lyrics, screaming at the top of her lungs even through whispers.” – Alternative Press, Ilana Kaplan

“4 Stars” – Sydney Morning Herald, Giselle Au-Nhien

“There’s a self-discovery within this record that feels incredibly satisfying to bear witness to, and it doesn’t hurt that the songs, clever and eclectic, get more addictive with each listen.” – Sydney Morning Herald, Giselle Au-Nhien

“Midnights” is Taylor Swift’s best album. Midnights has the confessional, diaristic elements of Debut, Fearless, and Speak Now; it has the storytelling prowess of Folklore and Evermore; it has the sonic multiplicity of Red; it has the synth-laden bops of 1989 and Lover; and it has the no-fucks-given attitude of Reputation.” – Buzzfeed, Ryan Schocket

“Impressively finding yet another new way to reinvent herself as an artist, Taylor Swift has crafted an intoxicating concept album shimmering with honesty and creative experimentation.” – The Forty Five, Cordelia Lam

Taylor Swift opens her long-awaited album Midnights by inviting listeners to “Meet me at midnight.” And goddamn it, we will be there, ma’am. We will be there with 13 bells on.” – Pedestrian, Matt Galea

“She is one of pop’s most distinctive vocal melodicists, able to sound conversational and highly tuneful at the same time, with a wonderfully deft use of tone and phrasing.” – Financial Times, Ludovic Hunter-Tilney

“On Midnights, Taylor Swift sounds more herself than ever” – New Statesman, Emily Bootle

“As is Swift’s creative fingerprint, Midnights is as lyrically taut, literary and tongue-twisting as any of her projects.” – SPIN, Bobby Oliver

“Midnights is something brand new, while still ultimately encapsulating all that Taylor Swift is known for – songwriting that leaves her listener feel comforted, understood, and content, in the most beautiful way.” – Notion, Rachel Martin

“I’ve really come to admire and respect Taylor Swift’s approach, both to music and to celebrity.
After all the shit she’s copped, she’s decidedly removed herself from the minutia that comes with being a celeb and only engages with the public on her own terms: every few years through her albums.” –Matt Galea, Pedestrian

“4 Stars” – Toronto Star, Aisling Murphy

“Midnights might be the best album of Swift’s discography.” – Toronto Star, Aisling Murphy

“[Midnights] a return to sleek pop.” – The Australian, Andrew McMillen

The album is like a confession uttered in the depths of night: It’s honest and authentic in a way that bares the soul.” – Harper’s Bazaar, Dani Maher
