Getty’s MESOPOTAMIA

Getty’s online digital experience, MESOPOTAMIA, is now viewable in Arabic, French, Hindi, Mandarin Chinese, Spanish, and English. MESOPOTAMIA offers an intimate look at ancient objects from a recent exhibition at the Getty Villa, some dating up to 5,000 years old.

MESOPOTAMIA reimagines how art collections and archives can be experienced online, taking users on a journey that presents objects in lifelike detail. Visitors can simply scroll to tour the online experience at their own pace, accompanied by a narrative that details the symbolic, religious, and sometimes practical meanings and purposes of these ancient works of art.

Featured objects in MESOPOTAMIA were captured using photogrammetry and in some cases, additional LIDAR and structured light scanning to replicate every detail. This allows users to see nearly every wedge-shaped impression on a 4,000-year-old cuneiform tablet, or the hairline cracks on other ancient tablets. In one instance, users can see the bubbles in the glaze of a lion relief that once lined Babylon’s Ishtar Gate.

To give objects a sense of size, scale, and context, the feature situates the objects within their gallery setting, and strings the experience together using a Steadicam video capture. This creates the sense of floating through the space, from one highlight to another.

As technology continues to advance and audiences anticipate more dynamic visual experiences, Getty is committed to experimenting with innovative ways of visual storytelling,” says Serena Parr, immersive lead at Getty. “MESOPOTAMIA is an example of Getty’s goal to bridge the gap between ancient art history and online learning, and we hope global audiences will enjoy diving into this fascinating time period.

Other recent Getty digital experiences include Return to Palmyra12 Sunsets, and Bauhaus: Building the New Artist.

Alex Ubago – Cuanto Antes

Alex Ubago celebrates his 20 year musical career with a re-recording of his greatest hits in the company of great national and international artists.

On this occasion Alex presents us with ‘Cuanto Antes,’ a new preview of his next album, together with one of the most important female voices in Latin America, Lali.

Lali is one of the great artists that Argentina has produced. I proposed to record ‘Cuanto Antes’ together because I knew it would be great as a duet with a female voice, and specifically with hers. This new version of the song has changed a lot compared to the original from my 2nd album and I love the result,” Alex tells us.

Lloyiso – Speak

Gearing up for a massive 2022, South African singer and songwriter Lloyiso returns with his brand new single ‘Speak‘ via Universal Music Group South Africa/Republic Records. Listen to Speak HERE

On this ballad, bold piano introduces the track as his undeniable voice immediately captivates. The vocals stretch from vulnerable verses into a soulfully striking refrain as he pleads, “Speak, don’t let this love hold you down. It exudes raw and real emotion in between each breath. Stay tuned for the premiere of the cinematic music video very soon.

Regarding the single, he commented, “I co-wrote ‘Speak’ with Molly Irvine and Dennis Neuer. I loved working with them, and they brought all the amazing flavors and color that this song needed. ‘Speak’ is about that moment when you realize that you’re honestly not sure whether your presence is wanted or not. Personally, it took me a while to come to terms with the doubt that comes from that realization. ‘Speak’ is the song that made me realize that if I’m honest with myself and the way that I feel, I can get relief from the pain!”

Last year, he made his international debut for Republic Records with the single ‘Seasons.’ Right out of the gate, it tallied 16 million streams and garnered a ton of buzz. Right now, Lloyiso is working on more music for release very soon.

About Lloyiso

Hailing from just outside of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, singer, songwriter, and producer. Lloyiso wields the kind of voice that instantly tugs at heartstrings. It’s the kind of voice that shines in any arena—whether in front of a laptop camera or under the lights of a festival stage. It’s the kind of voice that makes you stop what you’re doing and sing along.

At 16-years-old, he appeared on South African Idol and placed fifth in the competition. Following “three weeks at university, he left school and focused on music inspired by the likes of Sam Smith and Kanye West. He performed anywhere possible, singing in exchange for dinner at local pubs. He even recorded in English and ten different African languages.

Taking over social media, Lloyiso amplified his voice globally by posting covers on Facebook before embracing YouTube. He gained the endorsement of everyone from Kygo to Tyga, and gradually amassed an enthusiastic audience. Nailing viral renditions of Rihanna, Billie Eilish, Lewis Capaldi, and more, he launched his TikTok during 2020, generating tens of millions of views and attracting the attention of labels worldwide.

Finding his home, he notably made history as “the first South African artist signed to Republic Records.” Following the 2021 fan favorite ‘Seasons,’ he connects like never before with the powerful piano-driven ballad ‘Speak‘ in 2022 and much more to come.

The Grammy Awards

Sunday, April 3, the 64th Grammy Awards were held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Trevor Noah hosted the esteemed award show where looks were turned on the red carpet, performances were given and winners were crowned.

A good number of awards were bestowed before the telecast commenced, including The Best Rap Album award won by Tyler, the Creator’s Call Me If You Get Lost. The Grammy’s have had a longstanding history of opposition with hip-hop dating all the way back to 1989. A pattern of not broadcasting or platforming hip-hop has grown to be infamous with the Grammy’s, hinting as to why many artists in the genre were not in attendance and have even boycotted the show.

Of the most captivating performances of the night included Olivia Rodrigo, who walked away with a stunning three Grammy Awards by the end of the night. She took to the stage while performing her breakout 2021 hit, ‘Drivers License,’ which ultimately won the Grammy for Best Pop Solo Performance.

Other noteworthy acts included Billie Eilish’s rendition of her hit ‘Happier Than Ever,’ and Lil Nas X joined by Jack Harlow to perform fan favorite ‘Industry Baby.’

Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelenskyy sent in a pre-taped message to the Vegas showing in which he spoke on the significance of music and support for Ukraine right now. While words were spoken, John Legend took to the stage to perform “Free,” with Ukrainian artists Siuzanna Iglidan, Mika Newton and Lyuba Yakimchuck.

Zelenskyy began his speech, stating, “The war doesn’t let us choose who survives and who stays in eternal silence, […] Our musicians wear body armor instead of tuxedos. They sing to the wounded in hospitals. Even to those who can’t hear them. But the music will break through anyway.

“We defend our freedom. To live. To love. To sound. On our land, we are fighting Russia which brings horrible silence with its bombs. Fill the silence with your music. Fill it today. Tell our story. Tell the truth about the war on your social networks and TV. But not silence.”

One of the most touching moments of the night came from Jazmine Sullivan‘s superb acceptance speech as her album was named the R&B Album Grammy winner.

Sullivan spoke to the inspiration of the piece, and how the album embodied a voice for Black women, while stating, “I wrote this project to deal with my own shame and unforgiveness around decisions I made in my 20s that weren’t favorable. But what it ended up being was a safe space for Black women to tell their stories, for us to learn from each other, laugh with each other, and not be exploited at the same time. That’s what I’m most grateful for. Shoutout to all Black women who are just living their lives and being beautiful.”

We also saw Doja Cat and SZA receive their first wins for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for their collaboration on “Kiss Me More.” Their acceptance speech rung more lighthearted, with both artists cracking jokes about Doja rushing to the bathroom prior to the announcement. SZA teased, “Bro, you went to the bathroom for five minutes. Are you serious?” to which Doja replied, “I have never taken such a fast piss in my whole life.”

The pair continued to thank express their gratefulness to each other and those around them, to which Doja showed emotional rawness while raving, “I like to downplay shit, but this? It’s a big deal. Thank you, everybody.

California LightWorks × Nipomo AG

California LightWorks, a leading provider of horticultural lighting solutions, announced that Nipomo AG, a licensed 70,000 sq. ft. cannabis greenhouse in San Luis Obispo County has adopted the new MegaDrive LED system. Nipomo Ag converted from producing roses to cannabis several years ago. The company realized that in order to overcome the competitive market forces, especially in the winter months, it needed to install high-tech supplemental lighting. After exploring many options, Nipomo AG chose California Lightworks’ unique MegaDrive system, based on its high efficiency, ease of installation and lowest total installed cost.

The challenges presented by climate, regulatory policy and the economics of cannabis cultivation drive the demand for cutting-edge technology and best practices,” said Brett Vapnek, of Nipomo AG. “We knew we had to get the best lighting technology installed so that we could increase our yields and revenue, while cutting costs and reducing our climate impact.”

Nipomo AG installed the California Lightworks’ MegaDrive® LED Lightingsystem in their San Luis Obispo facility that has four bays for flowering, and two bays veg and mothers. The MegaDrive is a patented cost-effective LED lighting system for greenhouse operations that is simple to install yet highly effective in increasing both crop quality and yield.

Other lighting solutions require power drops throughout the greenhouse that can cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. One of the unique challenges of the Nipomo Ag installation was that in addition, they would have had to run new power lines to both ends of the 270 ft. greenhouse. The cost of bringing heavy power to the far side of the greenhouse alone was estimated to well over $100,000.

However, the MegaDrive’s unique central power supply did not require any power line runs anywhere over the canopy. Instead, the MegaDrive systems were installed across one wall of the greenhouse closest to the power transformer and connected directly to three phase 480V, reducing installation cost by over 80%.

“The MegaDrive installations are great because you can have the system that powers and controls the lights, installed away from the grow area, even up to 300 feet from the light fixtures,” added California Lightworks CEO George Mekhtarian. “The system is also able to be carefully turned for spectrum and intensity, saving energy and increasing yields. The lighting can simulate sunrise and sunset, and the lighting intensity can be dialed up and down as necessary automatically via a photo sensor. With the MegaDrive central power supply design, all the power electronics are removed from the fixtures and the lights become very robust and ideal for high humidity environments.

California has issued a large number of cannabis cultivation licenses, increasing competitive pressure. Cannabis prices have come down significantly in the past two years. Greenhouse production costs are generally lower than indoor grows, but the quality also tends to be lower. In addition, yields in a greenhouse during the winter season are less than half of the yield in the summer. This makes it a challenge for greenhouse operations in California to stay profitable year-round. High efficiency supplemental lighting is a must-have in order to compete and win.

Compared to the grow operations outfitted with traditional high-pressure sodium (HPS) lights or no lights at all, California Lightworks’ MegaDrive increases the yield (both in terms of pounds per square foot and pounds per watt) and quality of the crop. MegaDrive LED technology reduces fixture costs by up to 30% and installation costs by up to 80%. In addition, these benefits come at a 50% lower operating cost than traditional HPS lighting systems.

The MegaDrive spectrum and dimming controls can be integrated with third party greenhouse environmental control systems or done independently using unique touch screen and wireless solutions.  Every aspect of the yield can thus be dialed in. In addition, the system’s slim linear light design and central power supply reduce shadowing.

Greenhouses are notorious for power quality issues and lightning spikes. The MegaDrive LED system has the industry’s most robust transient protection making them extremely reliable.

The installation of California Lightwork’s MegaDrive LED system is helping to keep Nipomo AG at the forefront of California’s booming cannabis industry.

World Autism Awareness Day

Saturday, April 2, at the world-famous Guggenheim Museum on New York’s 5th Avenue, EML‘s Global Director of Public Relations, Marie O’Riordan, an Autistic Savant, was honored to travel from Ireland to be a VIP at the UN World Autism Awareness Day celebrations with America’s Autism Hearts Foundation.

The UN designates April 2nd as an official world Autism observance day each year, one of seven annual UN health awareness days. This year’s theme is Inclusive Quality Education For All. The pandemic affected 90% of students worldwide, with pupils living with Autism disproportionately affected.

The Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum is an Autism and sensory-friendly and accessible space for all with ongoing inclusive online family art classes, welcoming everyone on the Autism Spectrum.

The Autism Hearts Foundation, (AHF), a 501 (c)(3), is on a mission to maximize the potential of children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to learn, develop, function independently, and participate in the full range of social and cultural activities for an improved quality of life.

The Guggenheim and Autism Hearts presented the Hope fashion and arts event by young artists living with Autism inspired by the late artist, Vasily Kandinsky, whose works are featured in the Around The Circle exhibition running until September 5th. It is speculated that Kandinsky lived on the Autism Spectrum.

EML is beyond proud of our employees taking time to champion diversity and celebrate their own purpose. Marie and the networking she does to celebrate UN World Autism Awareness Day is the perfect example of EML’s commitment to inclusion; when we listen and celebrate what is both common and different, we become wiser, more inclusive, and better as an organisation,” said Kristen Shaw, Group Chief People & Culture Officer at EML.

“It’s an incredible honour to be an Autistic woman experiencing UN World Autism Awareness Day at The Guggenheim with Autism Hearts. The arts hold a vital key to helping children and adults on the Autism Spectrum, and Vasily Kandinsky has always been one of my favourite artists. There were many wow moments at the event, and The Guggenheim was a befitting stage for such talented young artists living with Autism. 2022 marks the 11th year I’ve been humbled to be a patron to Neurodiverse artists, retired theatre and entertainment professionals and a theatre company in North America and Europe. I am acutely aware that an estimated 85% of Autistics are under or unemployed, and I have EML’s progressive and forward-thinking approach to People and Culture to thank for the incredible opportunities that present themselves to me in my career working alongside my amazing teammates every day,” added Marie O’Riordan, Global Director of Public Relations at EML.

Livby House of Style Launch Party press images via BFA for use by 360 MAGAZINE

Behold, Bespoke – Livby

Saturday, March 26, Livby cultivated a one-in-a-lifetime style fashion experience at the Livby House of Style hosted by stylist Mimi Cuttrell at an exclusive, luxury residence in Beverly Hills. The event set out to celebrate the brand’s newfound concept sure to change the world of online shopping forever.

Transforming the once bland scene of e-commerce, Livby Inc. promises to upgrade the US fashion market with a new age livestream video sale platform. As livestream e-commerce has already taken off internationally in locations like Asia, projections estimate that virtual shopping in the United States will soon, also, be elevated to such distinction.

Livby’s lead investor and CFO Yorick Evans-Freke spoke on the uniqueness of the company’s new approach to traditional shopping methods, stating,From concept to execution, Livby is the first of its kind. Far from a typical investment, Livby is a true disrupter in a world desensitized to the term. As the live e-commerce revolution makes the leap from China to the US, Livby is the most investable play.”

The launch party was full of appointment-only previews and styling experiences creating a luxurious fashion event like the new platform that Livby has been working on. The guest list included top influencers, celebrities and fashion/beauty pioneers that help to elevate the fashion industry day in and day out. These innovators in the fashion industry play an integral part in Livby’s new e-commerce platform, too.

Providing insight on the formatting of the new platform, Livby’s Founder and CEO Shai Sudry simplified the workings of the new program, stating, “It’s as if the mall and social media marketing collided. Livby provides a seamless shopping experience from the first touchpoint to the last. We’re transcending fashion for the next generation of customers.”

The innovative concept generated by Livby is perfect for consumers in search of a new, fresh approach to shopping. The brand-new technology will showcase a platform allowing users to feel fully immersed in a shopping experience aside their most beloved influencers and fashion icons.

At the forefront of Livby’s new strategy is Madison Nagle, leading approaches with the executive team. Before landing this position, Nagle worked with top fashion companies like Revolve, Guess and even at Harvard University, where she graduated from, leading sustainability marketing projects.

Through collaborations with their esteemed team of professionals, Livby has created a collaborative platform that combines the top upcoming industries affecting the fashion industry today – Influencer marketing, E-Commerce and Livestreaming.

Livby has adapted the early QVC/HSN live-sale formatting with a more modern, Gen-Z approach. Their business model follows a commission-based structure, like eBay or 1stDibs. Renowned as the first company to cultivate such a platform, Livby Inc. offers a unique and admirable shopping experience with your favorite influencers.

So, how does it work?

An influencer agrees to conduct a live sale with a brand while setting their commission with the messaging and commission-slider features on the Livby app.

The brand and associated influencer encourage their followers to take part in the live sale via social media. If interested, consumers can create their own profile while adding payment details and viewing live sales.

After registration is completed, users get notifications relating to times and products in a specific livestream sale. Users tune in, can live message with an influencer throughout the sale and have the option to purchase conveniently with a click of one button on their device.

After the sale is complete, live video from the livestream is archive onto the app where prospective customers can re-watch and purchase at their convenience while stock persists. That’s it; it’s that simple!

Throughout the in-person experience, guests had the opportunity to take part in one-on-one meetings with stylist Mimi herself. Known for her red carpet and street style looks on esteemed celebrities such as Gigi and Bella Hadid, Ariana Grande, Lily Rose Depp, Madelyn Cline and Iris Law, Mimi is based in both New York and Los Angeles working for the crème of the crop across a scope of industries.

Throughout the personal styling sessions, some of the hottest brands right now were available, such as Aureum, Cult Naked, Dolce Vita, E.B. Denim, For Love and Lemons, Heart of Sun, Jaded London, Lack of Color, Lu Goldie, Montce, Réalisation Par, and Revice denim. It’s safe to say that guests were more than taken care of at the private event cultivated by Livby.

While not consulting with Mimi, guests were pampered with beauty/wellness activations conveniently set poolside. TYS Beauty refreshed guests while crafting beautiful brows and nails, and even had in-fad tooth gems to add opulent, modern touches. Pause Studio helped cleanse guests with their assortment of IV drips, wellness shots and lymphatic drainage techniques, while Jessica Stone cultivated soothing, introspective tarot card readings.

Samples from brands such as Benefit, Elaluz, Hum, Inked by Dani, Trademark Beauty, Artha and Versed were additionally offered at the event. Whether you were in search of a little beauty reset, or just some well-deserved self-care time, the activations had everything you could have been in search of.

After enjoying the beauty/wellness activations, guests were encouraged to treat themselves with personalized sips and bites provided by Decada, Sunny Vodka, El Cristiano Tequila, Hampton Water, Poppi, PATH Water, Caliwater, Sugar Taco, Craigs Vegan and a personal Sushi Chef.

Nagle spoke to the advancements and shifts that are coming in the fashion industry, while stating, “We live in a world where experiential retail is valued more than ever. With the rise of digital commerce, livestream shopping is quickly becoming the future of fashion retail. The virtual commerce technology that Livby offers allows brands and influencers to take back creativity and control. Now is the time for brands to become digitally savvy and adapt.”

“We are especially excited to bolster our fabric offering by introducing the brand-new Island Terry material in Vanessa’s collection. It is lightweight and breathable, making it versatile enough to wear to the beach or hanging out with friends.”

Sporting iconic activewear designs by Fabletics, The Sun-Daze Collection by Vanessa Hudgens encapsulates everything in-trend that will be a great addition to your summer wardrobe. From the new bright, eye-catching prints to the classic styles known as a staple of Fabletics, the collection consists of 16 styles, with VIP prices stemming from $9.95 to $59.95.

Hudgens exclaimed her excitement surrounding the collection, stating, “I’m obsessed with this collection, and it couldn’t be more perfect for festival season. My personal faves are the leggings for the fit and print (designed by yours truly) and the terry baby doll dress which is so cute and flattering. I wanted to do a full lifestyle collection so there’s something cute in there for all the Spring moments ahead.”

Highlights from the collection include:

  • The Prowl String Bikini Top is a convertible style that can be worn six different ways and comes with the matching Prowl String Bikini Bottom, which are both made from partially recycled materials and chlorine resistant.
  • Fabletics’s tried and true Powerhold and Seamless matching sets ground the collection and are introduced in all new, eye-catching prints, Desert Wavy Leo and Pink Rave Geo.

Tyler Robinson Foundation

Founded by the GRAMMY Award-winning music group Imagine Dragons, the Tyler Robinson Foundation (TRF) has been dedicated to assisting and providing support for families affected by pediatric cancer. The nonprofit organization was created with the goal of providing relief of expenses that entail families confronting a pediatric cancer diagnosis.

Throughout the year of 2021 alone, over 500 Emergency Fund expenditures were granted to families in need.

The foundation was initiated after learning about the moving story of Tyler, who was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, an incredibly rare form of cancer, at the age of 16-years-old. His inspirational story and bravery shown throughout the duration of his battle with cancer inspired countless of individuals around the world.

Coming together, his family and Imagine Dragons created the TRF, who advocate the message that, “the real battle is not whether you live or die, but how you respond to the challenge.”

The TRF has grown immensely and now supports over 2,000 families to date. Continuing to expand their foundation, the foundation continues to partner with more organizations like the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA), where they have founded a TRF.

Beginning with a donation of $10,000 from Imagine Dragons, this specific fund provides support with meals and food insecurity for pediatric cancer families. Imagine Dragons, too, went in attendance of a virtual meet and great with patients from CHLA where they discussed music and meditation.

The foundation has also partaken in events that tie in with their ambassador program Team TRF. Such events include a raffle to win a ZERO-G Flight experience with Imagine Dragons that accumulated nearly $10,000 and the Rise Up Gala one-night-experience that raise of $2.6 million for TRF.

TRF, too, was named a 2021 Top-Rated Nonprofit by GreatNonprofits, a provider known for providing user reviews of charities and nonprofits. TRF received a 2021 Platinum Seal of Transparency with Candid.

Since their founding, TRF has been able to provide aid to over 2,500 families internationally and has raised a mass accumulation of over $12 million. For each dollar that is raised by TRF, over 85% goes back to families that are affected by a pediatric cancer diagnosis.
