KACEY MUSGRAVES x MARK RONSON | “CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE” via 360 MAGAZINE

KACEY MUSGRAVES x MARK RONSON

Today, Baz Luhrmann’s label House of Iona/RCA Records release Kacey Musgraves and Mark Ronson’s version of  “Can’t Help Falling In Love”. Prior to this, a reworked mash-up of  Elvis Presley’s “Viva Las Vegas” & Britney Spears’ “Toxic” titled “Toxic Las Vegas (Jamieson Shaw Remix)”. Both tracks will be on the forthcoming ELVIS (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) Deluxe Edition album coming this month.

This release follows the immense success of both the film, which was the number one non-IP-based box office earner of 2022, and the soundtrack for ELVIS. The soundtrack was nominated for two 2023 Grammy Award nominations – Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media Album and Best Rap Performance (for Doja Cat’s single “Vegas”). The soundtrack was also nominated and won for “Favorite Soundtrack” at the 2022 American Music Awards. The blockbuster film ELVIS, starring Austin Butler and Tom Hanks, landed at #1 in the box office in its first weekend in theaters and became Luhrmann’s highest-grossing film in 22 countries. It was nominated for three 2023 Golden Globe nominations and Austin Butler took home the win for “Best Actor.” The film was also nominated for seven 2023 Critics Choice nominations and won two for “Best Hair” and “Best Makeup.” ELVIS was also named one of AFI’s Top 10 movie of the year and has won four BAFTA Awards as well. The film is currently up for eight 2023 Academy Awards, including “Best Picture.”

The original soundtrack debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Soundtrack chart and reached top 30 on the Billboard’s 200 chart at #26. The success of the film and soundtrack gave a lift to Elvis’ discography, bumping Elvis: 30 #1 Hits album to #1 on Billboard’s Catalog Albums chart. Doja Cat’s “Vegas” hit #1 at Pop Radio, making it the first solo soundtrack song to reach #1 since RCA’s “Can’t Stop The Feeling” from the Trolls Original Motion Picture Soundtrack in 2016. Additionally, “Vegas” also peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, making this her sixth single in the top 10.

Director-producer-cowriter Baz Luhrmann takes us on the moving journey of a rebel and an icon as America’s cultural landscape evolved over more than 30 years. ELVIS celebrates the extraordinary life of a trailblazing artist, the loves and poignant losses he faced as a man and the timeless music and groundbreaking performances he gave the world. The film explores how Presley’s unprecedented rise to fame was sparked by larger-than-life manager Colonel Tom Parker, whose shortcomings were also primarily responsible for the singer’s tragic demise. The soundtrack features Elvis’s extraordinary body of work spanning the 1950s, 60s and 70s, while also celebrating his diverse musical influences and enduring impact on popular artists today.

CAFUNÉ NEW SINGLE, “PERSPECTIVE” via 360 MAGAZINE

CAFUNÉ NEW SINGLE, “PERSPECTIVE”

Cafuné – the NYC-based duo of singer/songwriter Sedona Schat and writer/producer Noah Yoo have released a new standalone single titled Perspective, which is available today on all streaming platforms and accompanied by a visualizer. Perspective is co-produced by Imad Royal (Doja Cat, Carly Rae Jepsen) and finds Schat and Yoo reckoning with close relationships that have become almost unrecognizable.

Elaborating on the new song, the band shared, “Perspective came about from conversations we were having about the death of relationships in our respective lives and the disorientation that can come with shifting into a new season of life without someone who was once your everything.”

Perspective marks the first new music from Cafuné since their signing to Elektra Records and the release of their 2021 debut album Running, which is now available on vinyl. Originally released via Cafuné’s own Aurelians Club label, Running features the band’s platinum certified breakout hit Tek It, which reached the Top 5 at Alternative Radio, hit #1 on Billboard’s Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart, and has since logged over 320 million streams to date.

Cafuné are currently in the midst of their 2023 North American headline tour with special guests Bathe. The dates continue tonight in Portland, OR and extend through late March with stops in Seattle, Los Angeles, Nashville, New York City and other major markets across the U.S. Cafuné notably supported CHVRCHES on their 2022 North American headline tour. For tickets and more information on Cafuné’s upcoming tour dates, visit www.wearecafune.xyz.

Sedona Schat and Noah Yoo have been recording alternative pop songs together as Cafuné since their days as NYU students in the mid-2010s. Self-produced and almost entirely recorded by the duo at their homes, mostly during the pandemic, their debut album Running is a record born in isolation. It peers out at a world that feels like it’s on the precipice of disaster, considering what it means to get older, to carve out a future for yourself. It’s a labor of the duo’s friendship, of doing the work and trying to figure out what the way forward is, even when it seems like there’s no end in sight. It’s a record of growing old and growing up, of making something you can move to, whether you’re alone in a room, in a sweaty club with all of your friends, or driving away to someplace better.

Clubs & Competition (on display now)
In the early part of the 20th century, motorcycle culture was a homegrown phenomenon. It grew out of the passion of riders for their evolving sport. The camaraderie that developed around riding and attending competitive events led to the formation of motorcycle clubs that hosted destination rides, family picnics with motorcycle games and other riding competitions.
The newly reinstalled display case in the Clubs & Competition gallery highlights clothing from club members from primarily the 1930s and 1940s. The clothing selections on view include full dress uniforms, shirts, sweaters, jackets and caps, customized by the owners with their club’s name and logo, and pins or patches indicating membership in the American Motorcyclist Association. The H-D Archives collection includes Motorclothes® apparel sold in H-D® product catalogs but also non-H-D produced clothing items that have been proudly customized by riders.

“Off-Road Harley-Davidson” (on display now)
In the decades before America paved its highways, early riders had to be prepared for all sorts of terrain: sand, clay or dirt – and wandering those makeshift byways were Harley-Davidson® motorcycles. Today, it’s called off-road or adventure touring; back then it was just called riding. Since 1903, Harley-Davidson® motorcycles proved their toughness by riding over wooded hills, through stone-choked creek beds and up mountain sides. “Off-Road Harley-Davidson” tells the history of motorcycles designed for rough roads, the people who rode them and the adventures they shared.

Daniel Suárez, 65th Annual Daytona 500 via 360 MAGAZINE

Daniel Suárez, 65th Annual Daytona 500

A Mexican driver would love nothing more than to win The Great American Race.

That’s Daniel Suárez’s quest this week as he embarks on DAYTONA Speedweeks Presented by AdventHealth in preparation for the 65th annual Daytona 500 – NASCAR’s most prestigious race.

Last year, Suárez became the first Mexican (Monterrey) to win a Cup Series race when he dominated at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway in June. He’d love nothing more than to join Mario Andretti as the only foreign-born drivers to win the Daytona 500.

A victory at Daytona will mark Chevrolet’s 25th win in the 500 and its 50th Cup Series win as a manufacturer at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway.

Suárez will certainly know where to celebrate if he adds to those totals.

Longtime sponsor Tootsie’s World-Famous Orchid Lounge, the legendary and historic honky-tonk in the heart of Nashville’s Lower Broadway entertainment district, will serve as the primary sponsor on Trackhouse Racing’s No. 99 Chevrolet Camaro for Sunday’s race as well as multiple races in the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season.

Suárez arrives in Florida after finishing 19th at the season-opening Clash exhibition race at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The No. 99 showed speed, but damage from an early wreck slowed his progress in the closing laps.

Suárez joined single-car qualifying Wednesday night, placed 12th in one of the Daytona Duels on Thursday night, and will start 24th in the Daytona 500 on Sunday. The drivers will also practice Friday and Saturday.

FOX, MRN, and SiriusXM will air Sunday’s race at 2:30 p.m. ET.

Are the expectations higher in 2023?

“The expectations are definitely higher than last year. Last year, our team was working very hard. We didn’t know where that would take us, but we were hoping it would take us somewhere good. I feel like now, it’s a little bit different because we know what we’re capable of doing. We know that we’re capable of winning and we know that we’re capable of racing with some of the teams that have been doing this for a long time. We have to go out there and just continue to work because in my opinion, if we do exactly the same thing that we did last year, it won’t be enough. Everyone is always evolving, so we have to continue to work and show up every weekend with the best that we can do.”

What is the Daytona 500 like?

“It’s an incredible event. Such a cool experience. It’s amazing it was sold out so early in January. I can’t wait to go to Daytona and put on a show for everyone.”

What strategy do you have for Thursday’s Daytona Duels?

“The Duels before the Daytona 500 are so nerve-racking. That’s the car you are going to be racing for 500 miles on Sunday. You just want to try to make sure you keep your car in one piece. The last thing you want is to wreck it and go to a backup. So, in the Duels, its very important to be aggressive but be smart and learn from that race heading into the Daytona 500.”

What is it like the moments before the Daytona 500?

“Sometimes when I am taking pictures in front of my car my mind is already focused on the race. People will ask me about something we talked about before we get in the car and I can’t remember because I was so focused on the race.

“When I climb in the car at Daytona I think the first thing I think of is how very thankful I am to get this opportunity. We have so many good things happening in my life, with Trackhouse, (fiancé) Julia (Piquet), the people around me. There is so much hype, so many people in the grandstands and so many people around the car that you can’t even see the cars around you when you jump into the car. Once I get into the car, I try to reset my mind and get going. It takes a little bit of time. Once I get to that point, it’s 100 percent focus on the race and what we must do on the track.”

Predictions for 2023?

“I feel like I am going to be able to accomplish so many things with this team this year. This is going to be our best season yet.”

Suarez Notes:

  • Suárez, 31, became the first driver from Mexico (Monterrey) to win in the NASCAR Cup Series on June 12, 2022 at Sonoma (Calif.) Raceway.

  • Suárez drives for the third-year team Trackhouse Racing – a team owned by former racer Justin Marks and partner Pitbull.
  • Trackhouse Racing won three races in 2022 and placed both Suárez and teammate Ross Chastain in the 2022 playoffs. Suárez finished a career-best 10th in points.

  • He was the 2015 NASCAR Xfinity Series Sunoco Rookie of the Year – the first Mexican driver to win the award.
  • In 2013, Suárez finished third in the ARCA Menards Series East final championship standings, the highest finish for an international driver in series history.
  • Suárez and fiancé Julia Piquet were engaged in November 2022.
  • Suárez received the National Series Driver Award during the NASCAR Diversity Awards in Los Angeles in February.
  • Suárez is a fan of the Mexican Soccer team Tigres UANL – he grew up playing soccer.

About Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge:

Tootsie’s has operated across the alley from the Ryman Auditorium (The original Grand Old Opry) in Nashville, Tenn. almost continuously since 1960. Its proprietor from 1960 to 1978, Hattie Louise “Tootsie” Bess, bought the lounge called “Mom’s” and named it for herself.

According to tradition, a painter mistakenly painted the exterior orchid purple. The color was never changed and became Tootsie’s signature color. Over the years, she served such famous customers as Kris Kristofferson, Faron Young, and Willie Nelson when they were still up-and-coming artists, and Tootsie was well-known for her generosity toward struggling musicians. The photo- and memorabilia-lined walls are called “Tootsie’s Wall of Fame.” A portion of the Loretta Lynn biopic “Coal Miner’s Daughter” was filmed inside Tootsie’s.

A music connection is not new to the Trackhouse racing team. In 2021, Marks announced GRAMMY Award-winning global superstar Armando Christian Perez (Pitbull) as a team partner. Perez served as the grand marshal at the 2021 Daytona 500 and has attended several Cup races.

Boston-born and Los Angeles-based multiplatinum global artist, entrepreneur, and style icon BIA returns with a hard-hitting new single entitled “SIXTEEN” out today via Epic Records.  Fans will also be able to catch BIA performing her new single during her set at Rolling Loud California this Sunday March 4th in Inglewood, CA at the SOFI Stadium.

Produced by Aziz The Shake and Tim Nihan, it might just be her most emotionally charged anthem yet. Immediately, she declares, “I came from a place where there’s nobody to look up to.” She recalls her come up out of Boston without holding back, “I left mama house. I ain’t have nowhere to run to.” Ultimately, she cuts deeper than ever on “SIXTEEN.

Meanwhile, her 2022 single “London” [feat. J. Cole] remains a phenomenon. It has tallied 42.7 million Spotify streams and counting in addition to 21 million YouTube views on the music video. Inspiring tastemaker applause, Rolling Stone proclaimed, “She brings her own flair to the drill rap style of the U.K.,” and HYPEBEAST noted, “After BIA makes mention of copping new Prada, Dior, and Louis Vuitton, Cole enters with a rapid-fire verse of his own.” Following her nod in the category of “Best Hip Hop Artist” at the iHeartRadioMusic Awards, the song garnered a nomination in the category of “Best Hip Hop Video” at the BET Hip Hop Awards.

“London” recalled BIA’s 2020 platinum single “Whole Lotta Money,” which received a Nicki Minaj remix on the deluxe version of her For Certain EP. The trap&B smash debuted at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 and charted for 17 weeks overall. For Certain (Deluxe) houses “Can’t Touch This,” which netted over 15.5 million Spotify streams.

Last weekend, our favorite “cover girl for certain” BIA performed at the Phililp Plein FW 223 fashion show in Milan and just the week before BIA also co-headlined the AT&T NBA All-Star Pregame Performance with The Kid LAROI, delivering a showstopping set. She also exclusively spoke to People about her love for the Boston Celtics, and the outlet assured, “her fans will be excited to know that the wait for BIA‘s highly-anticipated album is almost over.”

Expanding her growing empire, she also launched her cruelty free cosmetic line, Beauty For Certain By BIA last year. All products are available now on BeautyForCertain.com with further plans for retail expansion later this year as well as upcoming partnerships with Boxy Charm and Ipsy. The line consists of lipsticks, cream blushes, and highlights. PAPER raved, “BIA’s collection gives us the baddie energy we’ve been missing from beauty at large.”

Cate Blanchett x Sparks

“We met Cate Blanchett in Paris at the Awards last year”, say Ron and Russell Mael, “little knowing that a year later, one of the great actors of our time (and a splendid person!) would graciously consent to lending her bootie-shaking skills to the first video from our new album, The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte.” Dreams really do come true. “We will sleep well tonight knowing that forever we can say we co-starred in a film with Cate Blanchett

The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte marks Sparks’ first release on the venerable Island Records label in close to five decades, following such classics as 1974 landmark Kimono My House, highlighted of course by the indelible hit single, This Town Ain’t Big Enough For Both Of Us. Described by Ron and Russell Mael as a record that is “as bold and uncompromising as anything we did back then, or for that matter, anytime throughout our career.” The album includes such instantly intriguing new musical vignettes as Mona Lisa’s Packing, Leaving Late Tonight, and Nothing Is As Good As They Say It Is; songs which once again display Sparks’ seemingly ceaseless ability to craft complete, intricately detailed stories within perfect three-and-a-half minute pop earworms. Both characteristically timeless and unequivocally modern, The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte once again affirms that after more than a half-century making masterpieces, Sparks remain inimitable, ingenious, and as ever, utterly one of a kind.

Sparks will celebrate The Girl Is Crying In Her Latte and much more with an extensive world tour that sees the band playing some of the biggest venues of their incredible career, with highlights including a pair of sold-out headline shows at London’s historic Royal Albert Hall (May 29 and 30). The North American leg of Sparks Tour 2023 gets underway Tuesday, June 27 at New York City’s Beacon Theatre and then culminates with the biggest headline show of Sparks’ more than fifty-year career, taking place Sunday, July 16 at the world-famous Hollywood Bowl in their beloved hometown of Los Angeles, CA. The artist’s parallel practice of writing is visible in the poetic and thought-provoking titles that accompany the artworks acting as companions rather than explanations of the works.

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao presents Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. No Twilight Too Mighty, an exhibition that shows for the first time a selection of over 60 paintings and charcoal drawings created between 2020 and 2023 by artist and writer Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. The show thus provides a rich opportunity to observe the continuum in the artist’s practice of creating evocative paintings that relate to the human experience. Yiadom-Boakye has recently returned to making charcoal drawings, which have a sense of immediacy given their intimate scale and air of improvisation. Seen in tandem with the paintings, the depth of the artist’s skillful handling of different media is evident.

194 Local x Reebok Beatnik Moc

Reebok and vintage design label 194 Local have announced their collaborative take on the lace-less Beatnik Moc, pulling inspiration from classic outdoor lifestyle shoes, available March 4.

“We wanted to build a luxury classic outdoor shoe using absolute premium materials,” shared 194 Local. “We landed on a pony hair and suede combination on the upper, still using the Neoprene for comfort and support.”

“Looking at other outdoors shoes we wanted to use classic and timeless colors,” continued 194 Local. “The Beatnik Moc allowed us to keep branding very subtle with a callout on the footbed and an embroidered “194” on the heel tab.”

Reebok’s Beatnik Moc, introduced in summer 2022, is an outdoor-inspired iteration of Reebok’s Beatnik slide, which originally debuted in fall of 1994 and was brought back as a recurring silhouette in 2020.

Made famous in the early ‘90s by Boston guard, rookie dunk champ, and longtime brand athlete Dee Brown, Reebok’s Pump Omni Zone II sneaker – featuring first-of-its-kind custom-fit “Pump” technology – launched an industry-wide innovation race that forever changed the trajectory of sneaker history.

On its growing arc of retros and new colorways, Pump Omni Zone II “Rec Center” has next, utilizing color and material application to nod local recreation centers where youth often find their love for sport and community.

The shoe’s multi-color upper is dressed in suede with a leather heel cap and TPU overlay – each element speaking to the various textures, equipment, and colors often on display in local rec centers – while a lift of the Pump bladder tongue reveals inside the shoe a unique gym-floor graphic sock liner.
