POLESTAR 6

Polestar electric roadster concept planned to enter production as Polestar 6

Polestar (Nasdaq: PSNY), the Swedish electric performance car company, confirms plans to put the Polestar electric roadster concept into production. The production car is expected to launch in 2026 as the Polestar 6 electric performance roadster. Interested customers in all active Polestar markets are able to reserve a build slot online starting August 16, 2022.

“With the overwhelming consumer and press response, we took the decision to put this stunning roadster into production and I am so excited to make it a reality,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO. “Polestar 6 is a perfect combination of powerful electric performance and the thrill of fresh air with the top down.”

Revealed in Los Angeles in March as the Polestar O₂, the electric roadster concept builds on the design, technology and sustainability ambitions laid out by the Polestar Precept and showcases the brand’s vision for future sports cars.

The hard-top convertible will be built on Polestar’s bespoke bonded aluminum platform. Developed in-house, it will feature the high-performance, 800-Volt electric architecture already confirmed for Polestar 5. This includes output of up to 884 hp (650kW) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) from a dual motor powertrain, a targeted 0-62 mph (0-100 km/h) sprint time of 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).

To celebrate the launch, 500 numbered units of a special ‘LA Concept’ version, the ‘Polestar 6 LA Concept edition’, are planned to be produced. They will exclusively feature the unique ‘Sky’ blue exterior, light leather interior and unique 21-inch wheels of the original Polestar O₂ concept.

The production confirmation headlines the brand’s attendance with the electric roadster concept at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance and ‘The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering’ events during Monterey Car Week in California, August 18-21, 2022.

Further technical details and specification confirmations will be released as the production car becomes reality, leading up to the expected launch in 2026.

Art POP
At Projet Casa and Rialto

Art POP will be hosting its annual group exhibition (for the first time at Project Casa gallery) alongside several satellite events that will bring film screenings, literary readings and workshops into various spaces surrounding POP Quarters in Mile End.

//At a distance – from within//, presented at the Project Casa gallery
in the Plateau from Sept 15 to Oct 2.
At a distance from within is an exhibition that examines the exercise of placemaking within a diasporic context, while also connecting this theme to ecological allegories in relationality. In its Greek etymology, diaspora refers to the ancient Greek “dia speiro”, which translates “to sow over.” Originating from Jewish history and identity, the word has been expanded to define those who have been dispersed from a common origin. //At a distance – from within// draws from the allegory of the seed as an entity that creates a sense of rhizomatic placemaking. This relational form of placemaking refers then to the flourishing of communities, practices, and exchanges that come from diverse and multiple diasporas.

With the work of : Holly Chang, Jin Heewoong, Joyce Joumaa, Kuh del Rosario, Laura Acosta and Santiago Tavera, Melissa Raymond and René Sandín, My-Van Dam, Natalia Lasalle-Morillo and Sofía Gallisá Muriente, Par Nair, Santiago Tamayo Soler, et Vanessa Godden.

Aside from the exhibition at Project Casa, Art POP will be partnering with Projet Tabloïde to present artwork from Toronto-based artist Holly Chang in the corner of Mont-Royal and Saint Hubert.

CHEF RAFA ZAFRA

Chef Rafa Zafra celebrates his first season (22/23) after joining the culinary lineup at La Residencia, A Belmond Hotel, Mallorca, at its open-air restaurant, La Piscina. The successful collaboration has become a guest favourite and now opens its doors to non-residents for dinner.

Set between the Tramuntana Mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, this intimate hotel mesmerizes residents with rooms overlooking hillside forests, the old town of Deià and the Mediterranean coastline. Guests can enjoy exquisite dining at La Residencia with the elegance of acclaimed El Olivo or the relaxed culinary offering at Café Miró and from this season, the outdoor dining delights of Chef Rafa at restaurant La Piscina. All the dining venues are nestled in the tranquil surroundings of the property, which includes over 800 works by local artists.

Restaurante La Piscina is adjacent to the main swimming pool, with stunning views over Deià, one of Mallorca’s most idyllic 13th-century villages.  Chef Rafa delivers a creative and technical approach to his cooking.  He celebrates the abundance of local produce at its seasonal peak from both the land and the sea, offering dishes that taste of the Mediterranean.  He creates innovative yet familiar recipes while grilling over charcoal, infusing a variety of fish, shellfish, meats, and vegetables with deep smoky flavours for al fresco dining.

The restaurant has been a firm favorite for lunch with hotel guests, and now the experience is available to non-residents as well, from 7:30 until 10:30 PM, Friday through Tuesday.

Menu items such as Wagyu steak tartare, fried scorpionfish, and grilled crayfish are popular, along with one of Chef Rafa’s signature dishes, prawn carpaccio with caramelised onions. The menu breathes a distinct summer feeling, featuring an inventive vegan selection, including marinated aubergines with a Cala-diabla emulsion. The Catalan-style toasted pineapple is a must-try; it’s one of the most popular desserts and not to be missed. Chef Ivan Acquista, a long time senior member of Chef Rafa’s brigade, now permanently leads the kitchen under Chef Rafa’s creative guidance.

The restaurant features a modern yet sophisticated cocktail bar serving classic and signature cocktails as well as a refreshing juice menu. The curated wine and cava selection hosts more than 550 labels of local and international wines that sit alongside vintage champagnes, serving Moët & Chandon vintages by the glass. In addition, a fun ice cream station is set up to the side of the restaurant, which is accessible to guests, especially children and sunbathers, enjoying the pool area.

Chef Rafa states, “La Residencia is an exceptional hotel in the picturesque village of Deià. My wish has come true in the form of a collaboration with the property. I am thrilled to provide authentic cuisine, centred around  produce from this magical place, at La Piscina, the hotel’s most relaxed restaurant. “

HAUSKEY – Heartache & LSD: Act II

Following the release of Emilee: Act I earlier this summer, Australian artist, producer, and one-to-watch Hauskey reveals the second act of his three-part mixtape project entitled Heartache & LSD: Act II, out via slowplay/Republic Records on August 12th—listen HERE. Exploring the highs and lows of Hauskey’s mental health journey over the past two years, the psychedelic Act II finds him attempting to break free from his depression (“Emilee”) and confronting his mental health and sense of self.

Hauskey says, “In Act II, Heartache & LSD, the struggle begins. I start to break away from Emilee and wrestle my sense of self and mental health back. I deal with that all important first LSD trip in the title track, my struggles with body image and self-love in ‘Love Me’, my innate habit to doubt myself in ‘Second Guess’, and reflecting on a childhood that wasn’t so drowned in anxiety in ‘Head In The Clouds’.”

All songs in the mixtape series were written, produced, performed, and mixed by Hauskey. Praising Act INotion described the second and third acts as “a trippy re-examination of self and the well-earned resolution in which he now resides.”

He previously shared the meaning behind Emilee, saying, “I really wanted to name my depression and make it a character in the story. I landed on singing names ending with ‘e’ by chance, googled a few ideas and found Emilee means ‘rival, laborious’ and figured that fit pretty damn well. With my nemesis named, the song may as well have written itself.”

Hauskey first debuted in 2020 with his breakout hit “Slow.” The sunshine bop was followed by a slew of fan favorite singles, like “Somewhere” and “Silver Lining,” and his critically acclaimed debut EP, Slow. In 2021, Hauskey followed up this early success with “Go Wrong,” “Cream Shirt,” and his first collaboration, “One Minute” featuring Hope Tala, along with sold out headline shows across Australia. Along the way, he confirmed himself as an artist to watch—receiving international support from triple j and BBC Radio 1, as well as praise from press around the globe, including NPRBillboard, MTV NewsSPINNMEClashThe Line Of Best FitNotionDIYDorkCoup De MainOnes To Watch, and many more. Not to mention, during a very special live performance at the 2021 APRA Music Awards, Hauskey teamed up with Sycco and Stevan for a cover of Tame Impala’s “Lost In Yesterday,” bringing Kevin Parker and his family to tears—watch the performance HERE.

Stay tuned for Act III to come from Hauskey this fall.

ABOUT HAUSKEY
2020 and 2021 proved to be landmark years for Australian artist and producer Hauskey. He introduced himself to the world with his breakout single “Slow,” released his debut EP of the same name, sold out dates across Sydney and Melbourne, and dropped fan favorite singles “Go Wrong,” “Cream Shirt,” and more, tallying millions of streams along the way. He also incited widespread critical applause from NMEClashThe Line of Best FitNotionDIY MagazineDORK MagazineBillboardCoup De Main, and Ones To Watch, to name a few. Last year, Hauskey graced the stage of the APRA Music Awards for a seismic rendition of Tame Impala’s “Lost In Yesterday” with Sycco and Stevan, which left frontman Kevin Parker and his family in tears of joy. However, Hauskey only parlayed this momentum into his most ambitious creative output to date, the three-act mixtape Emilee, Act 1, Act 2, and Act 3. The ebb and flow of the first installment, Act 1, sets the stage for an honest, yet hard-hitting and heartfelt exploration of mental health struggles in one of the darkest periods of Hauskey’s life. He explains, “The project follows my mental health journey from low to high—from being suicidal to loving life again. There’s a song for every stage; from utter depression, to getting help, to dealing with my self-worth and body image, to seeing how things might be brighter.”

MUÉVELO LENTO album cover via Warner Music Latina for use by 360 Magazine

OVI – MUÉVELO LENTO

A few months after dropping a solo trap track, OVI, one of the sought-out artists in the current Latin trap movement, is back to release MUÉVELO LENTO, a new record and music video featuring urban newcomer Luar La L and American producer Ronny J.

Ovi surprised fans by sending them into a frenzy and getting their approval of the single prior to its release by having announced “Muévelo Lento on his social media following with a preview of the audio. His followers instantly connected with the song, reassuring the artist it is a single to be reckoned with. Produced by Ronny J, whose credits include Kanye West, Eladio Carrión, Xxxtentacion, and Wiz Khalifa, the infamous blunt verses stacked over the dark sliding basslines interpreted by two of the most crucial players in the genre make this the hottest trap anthem before the end of summer.

This is not the first time that Ovi and Luar La L collaborate, as they have proven to have a natural creative fluidity when teaming up. Maintaining the classic ominous essence throughout the music video, the artists are living a life of luxury with fancy cars, beautiful women, and Ovi’s crown which couldn’t miss the opportunity to make a feature in this racy music video.

From the very start of his career, Ovi has showcased his talent to the world, and has had no doubts about his intention to dominate the urbano scene with a constant repertoire of hit anthems. From stellar performances to scoring nominations to the latest awards shows, the singer-songwriter is currently working on his fourth studio album and is set to take the stage at this year’s Vibra Urbana Festival in Miami in December where fans can definitely catch him singing Muévelo Lento.
