  • For ten years “Cold Justice” continues to lead the true-crime space with an impressive number of arrests and convictions, a feat unlike any other show on television. The series has revolutionized the true-crime investigative genre and the landmark 100th episode will showcase the series’ exceptional capability of resolving unsolved crimes. The upcoming episode examines the 2007 murder of a popular college student, Anita Knutson, in Minot, N.D. Kelly Siegler and her investigative team will need the help of their forensic pathologist, digital forensics expert and DNA lab to solve the case.
  • From executive producers Dick Wolf, Tom Thayer and Magical Elves, “Cold Justice” follows veteran prosecutor Kelly Siegler and her rotating team of seasoned detectives – Steve SpingolaAbbey Abbondandolo and Terri Hook – as they travel to small towns to dig into unsolved homicide cases that have lingered for years without answers or justice for the victims. Bringing valuable resources and skilled experts, the “Cold Justice” team works alongside local law enforcement from around the country and has successfully helped bring about 21 convictions and 55 arrests.
  • The “Cold Justice” team worked together with local law enforcement to help bring about two arrests that can be seen in the upcoming episodes. Enclosed are the descriptions:

·         Sept. 3 at 8 p.m. ET/PT – Putnam County, Fla. – “A Mother’s Last Words” (90 minutes) | Kelly and Abbey investigate the brutal slaying of a pregnant woman who was able to call 911 but died before naming her killer. Eyewitnesses at a nearby bar could help crack the case…if they’ll talk.

NORTH AVE JAX – LAZY, BUT I HAVE GOALS

On August 17, 2022, Burlington Vermont native North Ave Jax releases his sentimental debut project LaZy, but i have goals‘ and drops new mini documentary music video for single “Eastside” directed by Kelly Butts-Spirito.

LaZy, but i have goals ” tells a true story of how North Ave Jax is on his way to becoming a big-time hero in the small town of Burlington, VT. The 10-track debut project journeys vicariously through the 20 year-old’s artistic ethos as well as his ability to resonate the sustenance of hunger and success. LISTEN HERE

WATCH MUSIC VIDEO FOR “Eastside” HERE

LaZy, but i have goals‘ fulfills the idea that goal setting and goal achieving are not dependent on whether you live in a small town. Through 10 tracks the mixtape serves to communicate a heart-felt understanding of those who may have lost their way or are struggling to find it as nothing worth having had come easy for North Ave Jax while growing up in section 8 housing on North Ave. Irrespective of him becoming one of the state’s best athletes, the 20 year-old carried himself stoically which led to a constant battle with his inner struggles of anxiety, substance abuse, and everything in between.

The debut mixtape characterizes North Ave Jax’s impactful lyricism through the dark experiences and situations he has gone through in which he has only been able to express musically. ‘LaZy, but i have goals‘ not only ventilates Jax’s thoughts and feelings to the world but also details the sustained effort of coming face to face with issues emanating from drug addiction and lack of self-love that inevitably led him to drop out of high school, lose touch with his friends, and completely isolating himself for the time-being.

This project builds purpose to individuals who assimilate to those factors of feeling inadequate to today’s societal standards. In the course of the mixtape’s themes, North Ave Jax wholeheartedly brings his vision and imagination to fruition as the dynamic duo of goal setting and goal achieving conceptualize that his goals are not one bit modest.

The audio visual for the mixtape’s focus track, “Eastside”, as narrated by hometown close friend and director Kelly Butts-Spiritorecounts the trials and tribulations of North Ave Jax and how their genuineness bond and brotherhood has led them one step closer to their fondest dreams and ardent desires. Through their passion for creativity and humble beginnings filming music videos in an empty parking lot and recording freestyles on a gaming microphone, LaZy, but i have goals‘ sends a broad message that growing up may not be what it seems and that it’s not too late to become the person that you actually are who you may want to be.

Over the last few months, North Ave Jax has had successful releases such as “Trust Nobody”, “Play Dumb”, and “The Fall”, as well as a complete 750 person sold-out hometown show at the Higher Ground Ballroom which took place April 16th in Vermont. North Ave Jax is only at the start of his career, stay tuned for more exciting announcements to come later this year.

GAYLORD TEXAN ARCTIC

ICE!’ IS BACK! GAYLORD TEXAN’S ARCTIC HOLIDAY TRADITION RETURNS AFTER TWO-YEAR HIATUS

Holiday Classic The Polar Express™ Told Through Ice Sculptures

Gaylord Texan Resort invites guests to “freeze the day” this Christmas as the hotel’s longtime holiday tradition, ICE!, returns Nov. 11, 2022 – Jan. 1, 2023 after a two-year hiatus.

Using more than 2 million pounds – or 1,000 tons – of ice, the holiday classic movie, The Polar Express, will be brought to life by a team of 40 ice artisans who work for approximately six weeks to create the nearly 17,000-square-foot, frozen attraction.

Starting with more than 6,700 massive ice blocks – created by three different ice manufacturers because of the sheer amount needed – carvers will tally more than 12,000 man-hours on the project. The artisans, using skills passed down from generation to generation, following a 300-page design book to create the spectacle. Ice carvings range in size from details as tiny as a coin to soaring scenes more than 30 feet tall.

The environment will be kept frozen by a state-of-the-art chilling system that maintains the temperature at a frosty 9 degrees Fahrenheit. And while the 9-degree temperatures turn ICE! into one of the coldest spots in Texas, guests experiencing the attraction will be provided Gaylord Texan’s signature blue parkas to keep them warm.

Colored ice (created by a chemist who mixes special food colorings to ensure sculptures maintain their bright colors the entire season), clear ice and LED lights are all used to create the display. Although this will be Gaylord Texan’s 15th time to present ICE!, this is the first time that The Polar Express™” has been featured at ICE! during the resort’s holiday celebration.

“We can’t wait for our guests to once again experience the magic and wonder of ICE! during this year’s Lone Star Christmas celebration,” said Chuck Pacioni, general manager of Gaylord Texan Resort. “Since debuting here in 2005, ICE! has always been a one-of-a-kind attraction for our guests, and we’re excited to welcome this Gaylord Hotels tradition back this year with The Polar Express™ and all the beloved characters from the classic holiday movie.”

Inside of the ICE! attraction, guests can also take rides down two-story-tall ice slides, traverse through ice tunnels and arches, and visit Carver’s Showcase to see live sculpting demonstrations. The ICE! experience concludes in a separate area dedicated to an awe-inspiring Nativity scene, meticulously carved and shaped in a dramatic display of crystal-clear ice.

The talented carvers that create this arctic artwork will travel more than 7,000 miles from their homes in Harbin, China, to Grapevine, Texas. Known as “Ice City,” Harbin is no stranger to elaborate ice carvings – it’s home to the world’s largest annual ice and snow sculpting festival in the world. At Gaylord Texan, some of the same artisans who create the Harbin festival will carve 300-pound blocks of ice into the larger-than-life, whimsical scenes. Carvers will use chisels, chippers, tongs, handsaws, grinders and even chainsaws to bring The Polar Express™ scenes and characters to life. The artisans from Harbin
have created ICE! for Gaylord Hotels for many years but haven’t been able to travel to the United States the past two holiday seasons because of international travel restrictions in place due to the pandemic.

BASTILLE – REVOLUTION

Bastille releases the official video for new single, the electronic club banger “Revolution”—watch HERE. The celestial visuals see Dan Smith and a dancer illuminated by an ethereal, suspended sphere, interspersed with cosmic imagery, playing into the vibrantly futuristic sonics of the track.

Dan explains, “The chorus is about the intimacy of human connection in the context of some science fiction, space-centered imagery. But it’s also about the idea of those amazingly thoughtful people who spend their lives trying to change the world in a positive way.”

“I’m totally over-awed by people like that – if you’re one of them, like an inventor, activist or scientist, you have to have the ability to imagine a version of the future that’s better than what currently exists, and then have that energy to actually work to make it happen. Alongside all the other things life throws at you. So, I wanted to nod to those people and the idea that before anything big happens, most of them will have had these little revolutions in their minds, a change of perspective that leads to something bigger.”

Taking inspiration from Quincy Jones’ production, “Revolution” had always been one of the core songs for Give Me The Future. The track now features on part two of the band’s three-part extended edition of the critically acclaimed, number one album. Dubbed Give Me The Future + Dreams Of The Past, the new release—out August 26th—features another album’s worth of new songs, collaborations, covers, and reprises.

“In releasing this version of the record, we wanted to give the complete picture of what we intended with this album and also explore the idea that you can choose your own adventure,” Dan says. “You can dive into the ideas of the future and an electronic world, or you can fall back into the past – away from technology and into ideas of memory and nostalgia – both thematically and musically. Or you can choose full-on dancefloor heartbreak escape.”

With the original album on part one, part two continues some of the themes and narrative from the original record, delving into songs that are shot through with notions of technological dependence, human connection and the limitless possibilities of life online. Part three, meanwhile, acts as a mini return to the band’s acclaimed “Other People’s Heartache” Mixtape series opening the four-piece up to collaborations, covers and concept-free creativity.

Since the release of the record, Bastille have created an immersive experience at their sold-out gigs, bringing the themes of the album to life in arenas across the UK and on a tour of North America. At this year’s Glastonbury Festival, such was the demand to witness their secret set the festival organizers had to cordon off the surrounding area at the 1,000-capacity William’s Green tent as festivalgoers tried to descend in the masses to catch a glimpse of their secret performance.

Such fervent scenes continue across the summer as the band play huge sets at festivals across the UK and Europe, including Boardmasters, Sziget, and two mammoth sub-headliner spots at Reading & Leeds 2022. Following that, they’ll take the “Give Me The Future” tour to South America, stopping in Argentina and Brazil, before continuing the enthralling trek across Europe.

CHASE PRIDE FESTIVAL

Thousands of people are expected to flock to the first ever Chase Pride festival next month for a star-studded day of celebration and entertainment.

Around 4,000 people are expected at Hednesford Park on Saturday, September 3, for the event which will celebrate diversity, support the local LGBTQ+ community and break down barriers.

Festival director Kathryn Downs said more than a thousand tickets had already been sold for the event, which promises a packed day of entertainment and activities for all, including a rainbow-clad parade.

Headline artists include RuPaul’s Drag Race star Cheryl Hole, award-winning cabaret artist Danny Beard and reality star Woody Cook.

Appearing alongside them will be the likes of George Windsor and Amrick Channa, both former X factor contestants, Georgia Bray, who wowed judges on The Voice, local singers Rox C and Ruby J and many others.

There will also be performances from local groups including Crystal Dance Academy and Brownhills Musical Theatre Company.

Kathryn said: “There will be two stages – the main stage and the community stage – and there is a packed line-up of brilliant entertainment for everyone.

“There will also be around 40 stalls featuring traders, community services and many more. One of the highlights will definitely be the parade. There will be lots of bright costumes, music, dancing and, of course, banners and whistles. We have around 200 people taking part including sponsors One Stop Stores, Glamazon, local schools, local businesses, police cadets and Scouts. It will be fantastic.

“Back in the park we will also have the Paws of Pride fun dog show organized by the Hall Green Greyhound Trust. We’re expecting to see lots of pampered pooches on their best behavior!”

The event runs from 11 am until 8 pm and there will also be fun fair, food and a licensed bar. Kathryn added that there would be a couple of ‘fringe’ events going on as well, with the Friends of Hednesford Park arranging children’s entertainment with Magical Mayhem and the Museum of Cannock Chase hosting an exhibition called LGBTQ Voices, by Walsall artist Kathy O’Connor. There will also be a screening of the Greatest Showman in the park the previous night, September 2, but this is already sold out.

Kathryn said: “We are delighted with the amount of support we are getting. Our main sponsors are McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands and One Stop Stores who are both sponsoring stages.

“We have received two grants, one from the National Lottery Community Fund, and one from the Arnold Clark Community Fund.

“We have had lots of other support including free services and we are hugely grateful to organisations like Aggreko and HSS for their support.”

David Jackson, centre manager at the McArthurGlen outlet said: “We are proud to support Cannock’s first Pride festival which forms an integral part of the local community.  As champions of diversity and inclusivity, we are looking forward to seeing everyone come together to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community and enjoy a lively day of entertainment.”

The event was initially due to be held in 2020 but Covid saw it canceled. Last year there was too much uncertainty, so it was rescheduled for 2022. “It’s taken a lot of hard work, but we have a strong, dedicated committee at Chase Pride and a host of volunteers who have all worked really hard to make it a reality,” said Kathryn, a former town councilor.

“We have come across some opposition, mainly those who misunderstand what it is we’re trying to do. Some people think it’s funded by the council and say there are better things for money to be spent on, but that’s not the case. There is a lot of unconscious bias out there.

“There have been three complaints and a few social media comments from people who think that we are exposing families and children to a sexualized environment. But nothing could be further from the truth. This is a fun family event for everyone.

“Those complaints are a very small minority compared to all the tickets sold so far and the support we have received. The number of people who are not from the LGBTQ+ community who have bought tickets is very heartwarming; allyship is as important to change hearts and minds locally as the LGBTQ+ community being visible.

“We just want to spread the benefit of Pride. We have a large LGBTQ+ community in the area, but there aren’t many safe spaces where people can be themselves and socialise without fear. Cannock Chase isn’t traditionally the easiest community for people to come out in, there is still a lot of prejudice to overcome.

“We started Chase Pride to tackle that and to create a sense of community and a network where people can feel safe to be themselves.

“Since starting up, we have had messages from members of the LGBTQ+ community who feel lonely and isolated living in the area; they may not be able to be themselves or ‘out’ at home, but we have given them a way to connect with like-minded people and feel part of the community.”

Kathryn said Chase Pride is planned for be an annual event, moving around the district. Next year it is scheduled to take place in Rugeley and the year after in Cannock.

“Local businesses across the district have been fantastic in supporting us, including Gregory Bryant in Rugeley, who have raised over £300 alone, along with other independent businesses in Hednesford, Cannock and Rugeley, who have been selling rainbow laces for us to raise funds.

“We are seeing that goodwill spreading to other areas now too,” she added. “We are already having a positive effect and we want to grow that even further.”

8 Tips to Declutter Your Home and Life for the Best Autumn Yet

Fall is always an exciting time filled with trips to apple orchards, afternoons spent at pumpkin patches, Friendsgiving dinners, and… decluttering! And I don’t just mean putting your surfboards in storage and finally ridding all kitchen countertops of scattered mail — I mean giving your home and lifestyle a whole fall refresh! Decluttering both your living space and life could be key for ensuring you have the best autumn yet.

In my experience as the Professional Organizer and Brand Ambassador of  Modular Closets  (DIY customizable closet units that organize any space in your home), I have discovered a number of helpful decluttering tips. Here are 8 of these tried-and-true strategies I wanted to share:

1. Organize a grab-and-go station for autumn essentials.

Isn’t it the worst when you are trying to leave for an outing and can’t find your keys, cellphone, or other essentials? Don’t let missing items put a damper on your fall festivities! Organize a bin by the front door or in the garage that contains autumn essentials like beanies, gloves, scarves, windbreakers, chapstick, and hand creams for your purse (the chillier weather can really dry out your skin!) so you are always ready for any fun fall plans. Whether you are planning to spend an afternoon apple picking or you want to wander through gorgeous fall foliage, you will be prepared for any outing.

2. Write down 5 things you want to do this autumn.

From camping excursions to costume parties and fall food festivals, it seems like once autumn hits there is almost TOO much you want to do. So declutter your plans by organizing a fall bucket list! By taking pen to paper and consciously thinking of what you want to experience this season, you will truly be able to make your autumn dreams a reality. Then, once you write down the top 5 must-do’s, schedule each of them into your calendar. This will ensure you accomplish the bucket-list items and allow you to plan other activities around them.

3. Declutter last fall’s essentials.

Garages and sheds tend to fill up with clutter from all the autumns beforehand. Spend a day decluttering broken Halloween decorations, chipped Thanksgiving dinnerware, broken baskets for apple picking, and costumes you no longer wear so that you will be able to replace ones that need to be replaced right away. Trust me, the last thing you would want is to start getting ready for a costume party and realize all of your costumes in storage are stained or have holes in them. By decluttering any items you no longer need, you make space for all your new autumn essentials which also frees energy for new memories.

4.) Deep clean the windows.

Do you love gazing out your windows at the changing leaves? Deep cleaning the windows needs to be a must on your autumn organizing to-do list, as it will help you enjoy the lovely fall days to the fullest! If your windows are covered in grime and streaks from the rainy spring and dry summer months, take an hour or two to spray all of them with a cleaning solution and wipe them until they sparkle! You will smile every time you look through them and notice how clear and clean they are.

5.) Write down your home organizing goals.

Although autumn is typically filled with fun get-togethers with friends and family, Oktoberfest festivities, and other events, the season is a great time to accomplish your home organizing goals. Have you been meaning to paint one or more of your rooms a new color? Do you really want to clean every single carpet and rug in your living space? Commit to one home organizing project you have wanted to do this year, and allow yourself the fall to accomplish it. I highly recommend scheduling the project into your calendar so that there are plans set in stone to get it done!

6.) Organize a travel station in your car.

Autumn is filled with family gatherings, adventure, tips to pumpkin patches, and travel, so it is paramount to have your car organized. First, do a deep clean. Yes, that means vacuuming under the seats and picking up all the stale Cheerios all over the floor. Once the car is deep cleaned, organize an autumn station that you keep in the trunk. Some ideas of things to include are hats, scarves, wipes to clean hands after apple picking, and extra sweaters. Preparation is key!

7.) Organize your fall clothes.

Out with summer and in with fall! Spend an afternoon decluttering any autumn clothes that you no longer love wearing or that don’t fit, and organize your closet so all your fall clothes are front and center. Hang up your favorite sweaters, put your glove and beanie sets together, clean and fold all of your pants and leggings, and clean your boots so they are ready for all of the fall festivities!

8.) Organize your garden tools.

Autumn means beautiful falling leaves! If your garden tools have been buried in the garage or shed all year round, this is the time to declutter any rusty or broken rakes and possibly purchase a new one. The last thing you want is to get ready to clean up piles of leaves and realize the handle on your rake broke while in storage!

To Wrap It All Up

Now that fall is here, make it a priority to declutter both your living space and lifestyle so that the season is nothing short of marvelous. Several ways to do this include organizing a grab-and-go station for autumn essentials and writing a bucket list of 5 must-do fall plans. Also, declutter last season’s essentials, deep clean the windows, and organize a travel station in your car. These are just a few ways to help ensure you have the best autumn yet!
