Marine Layer Wines Opens Tasting Room

Marine Layer Wines Opens Tasting Room on the Healdsburg Plaza

Tasting Room Showcases Contemporary Coastal California Design by Sonoma Design Duo, HommeBoys

Food Offerings from Single Thread Farms, Co-Creators of Little Saint, Opening Later this Year

Marine Layer Wines is a boutique winery that aims to bring the terroir and soul of the Sonoma Coast to life.  With its stellar small-production lineup of single-vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, Marine Layer has announced the opening of its highly anticipated tasting room in downtown Healdsburg.

Marine Layer was created by close friends with deep ties in the Sonoma Coast wine scene; friends who share a devotion to wine, hospitality and showcasing the diversity of the Sonoma Coast.  With 2018 serving as Marine Layer’s inaugural vintage, the winery has already gained a cult-like following of industry insiders and locals.

Sonoma designers, HommeBoys have perfectly captured the spirit of Marine Layer in their tasting room design, exuding understated and casual sophistication.  A departure from the more formal tasting rooms of the past, the space is the embodiment of modern California coastal chic; a place to linger and savor the flavors of the Sonoma Coast.

“I always envisioned Marine Layer as a ‘location’ as much as a wine brand.  Since we started this incredible journey, we knew that we needed a place to gather and enjoy our wines while hanging out with our friends,” said Baron Ziegler, founder of Marine Layer. “It’s been a dream to work with the HommeBoys.  Their interpretation perfectly mirrored our vision for a contemporary, laid-back California tasting room — elegant, yet approachable and relaxed.”

Located downtown on the eastern side of Healdsburg’s Plaza, Marine Layer’s tasting room was designed as an ode to coastal California.  The space boasts a bright, warm atmosphere, complete with an array of intimate lounges for guests to relax and enjoy.  Inspired by the surrounding coastal region from which Marine Layer crafts its wines, mixed tones of natural oak and deep ocean blue paneling envelop the space.

“We wanted the various lounges to all to feel unique with their own assortment of furnishings, but at the same time, create some continuity so that it didn’t feel disjointed,” said Austin Carrier, co-owner of HommeBoys.

Design highlights include a modern three-sided glass fireplace, handmade ceramic pendant lights sculpted by Oaxacan artists, oversized Moroccan wool rugs, large beaming skylights, and semi-arched columns that scoop up into the ceiling as guests walk into the space.

The Marine Layer guest experience extends beyond the dramatic design.  To complement guests’ wine tasting, Marine Layer has partnered with a soon-to-open neighbor, Little Saint, a farm-forward gathering place led by SingleThread owners Kyle and Katina Connaughton. The opening menu includes a thoughtfully crafted mezze plate comprised of dips, spreads, housemade crackers and just-picked crudités.  Showcasing a variety of flavors and textures, the mezze plate is a convivial noshing intended for guests to play with alongside the lineup of Marine Layer wines.  The offerings will frequently rotate, as they are based on seasonal produce harvested from the Little Saint farm located nearby.  The Marine Layer x Little Saint Experience includes a mezze plate and flight of five wines for $50 per person, or guests can enjoy a flight of five wines for $35 per person.

Marine Layer is open seven days a week, 11 a.m. – 7 p.m.  Reservations are strongly encouraged.  To book an experience, please visit Here.  Follow Marine Layer on Instagram: Here.

COI LERAY – TWINNEM

COI LERAY DROPS NEW BEST FRIEND ANTHEM “TWINNEM” TODAY
WATCH VIDEO HERE (Post & Share)
SUPPORTING LIL BABY AND LIL DURK ON THE BACK OUTSIDE TOUR WITH
BIG PURR (PRRDD)” EARNS CIAA GOLD-CERTIFICATION

Back in action with the ultimate best-friend anthem, Platinum superstar Coi Leray serves up a new single entitled “TWINNEM” today. Listen to “TWINNEM”— HERE and watch the video HERE.

Sharing just a snippet on TikTok, its sound has already inspired a staggering 300,000+ fan videos thus far. Now, the final recording pops up off as the perfect banger for besties to share. Coi’s fiery flows practically singe the beat before she delivers an unshakable hook. In the video, she gets dapper with her crew as she declares “that loyalty everything.”

Making her grand debut, Coi just took over New York Fashion Week. She rocked custom looks for both Moschino and Laquan Smith, and PAPER chronicled her domination this year.

Right now, she’s supporting Lil Baby and Lil Durk on The Back Outside Tour across North America. Check out the remaining dates below.

Leray’s last single, “Okay Yeah,” has amassed nearly 2 million streams to date. Uproxx praised the single, writing that Leray “extends her streak of consistent flexing by bragging about her wealth, shopping habits, and jewelry all while also brushing off her haters in the process.” Revolt wrote that Leray “has no plans of letting up.” Not to mention, “Okay Yeah” notably features on the blockbuster Madden 22 in-game and on the Official Soundtrack Album.

It arrives in the wake of her recent banger “At The Top” [feat. Kodak Black & Mustard]. To date, it has racked up over 4.2 million streams and earned widespread praise. UPROXX highlighted “variety of flows from the lilting melody of the hook to a Playboi Carti-esque, clipped cadence at the beginning of her verse,” and The Source assured “Coi Leray is keeping her hot streak going.” HotNewHipHop put it best, “she’s only concerned with things that will help her ‘elevate,’ and she’s stuck to her word.” Not to mention, she stands out as among this year’s coveted XXL “Freshman Class.”

Coi shows no signs of stopping or slowing down. In 2021, she served up “Bout Me.” Receiving critical acclaim, Complex praised her integration of “of pop and hip-hop worlds, with her oscillating between staccato raps and warbling, auto-tuned vocals,” and Hip Hop Weekly noted she “keeps the hits coming.”

It followed closely on the heels of the blockbuster music video for “BIG PURR (Prrd)” which recently earned RIAA Gold Certification.  Right out of the gate, it racked up 1.7 million views in less than a week. HipHopDX raved, “One of 2021’s hottest collaborations has an even hotter video to match its Billboard-blazing hype,” and UPROXX put it best, “Coi Leray’s 2021 is off to a fantastic start.” It’s already amassed over 40 million total streams and counting.

Since its release, “BIG PURR (Prrd)” has spawned 660K-plus videos on TikTok with nearly 50 million views. The song has also charted on the Billboard Hot 100 and Rolling Stone Top 100 songs charts, where it continues to climb. Its predecessor “No More Parties” picked up her first gold plaque from the RIAA and scaled the Billboard Hot 100, where it’s ascending the top 30. It soundtracked nearly 500k videos on TikTok with over 71.5 million views. The “No More Parties (Remix)” music video remains in the Top 10 most watched videos on VEVO and a fixture in mtvU’s rotation.

Coi also made her television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with a performance of “No More Parties.” Watch it HERE.

Accelerating her rapid rise, Coi holds a spot in the Top 5 of the Billboard Emerging Artists chart and on Rolling Stone’s Breakthrough 25. Additionally, Billboard christened her the “R&B/Hip-Hop Rookie of the Month.” Continuing her takeover, she spoke to Complex and In The Know about “first date style” and unveiled how to make hot banana pudding on the fan favorite original content series Cooking with Coi Leray. She also graced the lineup of Rolling Loud in Miami on July 24.  What’s more, Coi has received public support from industry heavy weights such as DrakeMegan The StallionCardi B and CityGirls- JT & Yung Miami.

Coi Leray also stars in a new campaign for the SKIMS “Cozy Collection” by Kim Kardashian West. For the campaign, Coi Leray modeled the new collection and linked up with singer Destiny Rodgers for a special SKIMS TikTok to Destiny’s song, “Tom Boy” which was reposted on Instagram stories and praised by Kim Kardashian West. Coi can be seen in the official video for the revamped single.

October – Selena Gomez – ELLE Canada

KO MÉDIA REVEALS A FORWARD-LOOKING  SEPTEMBER ISSUE OF ELLE CANADA

KO Média is excited to unveil the October issue of ELLE Canada featuring Selena Gomez. The multi-hyphenate star opens up about her mental illness, shooting her new Hulu show with Steve Martin and releasing her first record in Spanish. “I focused so hard on making sure the language I was speaking — and the way I was speaking it — was authentic,” she says in the candid interview. “I wanted it to exude love. I wanted it to talk about pain but in a way that was confident. There is a song about girls saying goodbye to things that aren’t good for us.” One thing Gomez has said goodbye to is her access to Instagram. “I suffer from mental illness, and [social media] just wasn’t adding anything to my life,” she says, adding that once she gave it up, “I felt like I was suddenly able to be so present.”

Other stories of self-care and self-discovery in this issue include Canadian Grammy-winning artist Alessia Cara finding stability as her star continues to rise; Nesta Cooper on coming into her own opposite Jason Momoa in the second season of See; and Mohawk actor Devery Jacobs’ experience working on an Indigenous set and being an activist in her community. Rounding out the bunch is Jonathan Van Ness who, with six seasons of Queer Eye behind them, is now focused on feeding their own well-being, inside and out.

For readers who need some me time, we offer up Canada’s best spas to visit this fall, whether you want a full-body scrub en plein air in B.C. or a lakefront Nordic spa experience in Nova Scotia. Plus, the magazine looks at why dawn is the new time to get things done and how to properly care for sensitive or irritated skin (just in time for winter!).

In fashion, this edition is all about looking back — on the overt tackiness of the early-aughts (which is making a comeback for a surprising reason); the 40-year legacy of Max Mara’s 101801 coat; and the coming-together of two friends to design Markoo’s cool, effortless aesthetic.

And we get serious, diving into the history (and current reality) of medical misogyny, dissecting the downfall of the girl boss and what it says about women in power, and exploring the healing effect of restorative tattooing.

Ending on a lighter note, this issue has everything from forest-inspired fragrances and the next generation of Canadian winemakers to dinner party glow-ups and a mother-daughter road trip.

The October issue of ELLE Canada will hit stands and Apple News+ on October 20, 2021.

Vermont singer and songwriter Noah Kahan releases his anxiously awaited sophomore album, I Was / I Am, today—listen HERE. The 10-track album features his newest single, “Someone Like You” feat. Joy Oladokun, accompanied by the official video also out today—watch HERE.

On the album, Noah says, “I can split my life into two parts. There is a defined and pronounced before and after within my consciousness that has become ever so clear to me in these long months of forced self-reflection. I started my journey here so fearful of changing, of losing the part of me that I felt was vital to staying grounded and unique. Somewhere in the last few years, I’ve had to let go of that fear, and allow growth, for better or for worse, to happen. This album is about examining that growth and measuring the difference from who I was when I started and who I am still becoming now. I’ve spent 4 years touring, traveling, experiencing things I would have given limbs for when I was a kid. I’ve lost friends. I’ve made lifelong connections with people I would never have otherwise gotten a chance to meet. I have failed so often and have had small successes that make it all worth it. I’ve fucked up, and I’ve lost people close to me. I don’t know if I’m ‘better’ or if I’ve regressed, I just know that I’ve grown. This album is about acknowledging that growth.”

On collaborating with Nashville singer and songwriter Joy Oladokun, Noah says, “Working with Joy on this song was one of those experiences that I’ll always remember and be grateful for. She is an incredible artist, and she was really natural on camera which made me jealous! I love her and her music and am so grateful for her involvement on this song.” Joy chimes in, saying, “When a folk-pop god like Noah Kahan calls, you come running.”

Noah Kahan took two years of milestones and transformed them into I Was / I Am, alongside his Busyhead collaborator and Grammy Award-winning producer Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Jonas Brothers, Khalid) and engineer Mark Rankin. Preserving his commitment to vivid lyricism, Noah crafted the new music with faster tempos and sweeping hooks, recharging his overall vision.

He says, “While writing this record, I’ve taken stock of who I am as compared to who I was when I started and what that means, for better or worse. I do have some perspective. I’ve also lost a lot. I’ve lost people close to me for different reasons. I’ve lost friendships. I lost my dog. Those experiences haven’t necessarily hardened me, but they’ve made me incredibly grateful for what I have now. The biggest change is a little bit of clarity in terms of who I am and the person I want to end up being. The songs on the record represent a new understanding of myself.”

I Was / I Am features Noah’s previously released anthemic singles, “Part of Me” and “Godlight,” and “Animal,” which capture his signature storytelling and evocative lyrics. The tracks have amassed over 12 million combined streams to date and received praised from the likes of BillboardSPINEntertainment Tonight, and many more.

This fall, Noah will embark on the I Was / I Am North American headline tour. Kicking off in St. Louis on October 14th and running through mid-December, the tour includes shows at New York’s Webster Hall and Los Angeles’ The Fonda Theatre, which are quickly selling out—see the complete list of tour dates below. Tickets are available now HERE. Noah Kahan has quietly emerged as a homegrown phenomenon with a combination of vivid songwriting and powerful performances (as well as a razor-sharp sense of humor on social media). He’s racked up over one billion streams across his catalogue, picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen ColbertLate Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. His 2020 Cape Elizabeth EP garnered critical praise from across the globe, and not to mention, he’s collaborated with a slew of artists, from Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin.
