Grammy nominated producer/creator boyband has released never knows best, his sophomore project which zooms in on the complicated feelings associated with growing up. Accompanying the project’s release is please don’t waste my time (ft. No Rome), the newest focus track for boyband.

“please don’t waste my time” joins “birth by sleep” and “by myself,” – both previously released from never knows best – to form a trilogy tucked within boyband’s emotionally-charged project that magnifies how quickly dependency can send a blossoming relationship into a toxic and destructive spiral. “birth by sleep” and “by myself” create a captivating one-two punch of pop and punk, highlighting boyband’s dynamic ability to entangle the intricacies of hip hop, power-pop, and indie. Balancing a melancholy message – the struggle to overcome hopelessness borne from the fear of rejection – with mischievously catchy summer-pop songwriting, “birth by sleep” is juxtaposed by the frenzied and frantic atmosphere of second chapter, “by myself,” which parallels the apprehension, anxiety, and fear of being alone that the narrator experiences following an unexpected breakup. Meanwhile, “please don’t waste my time” makes it clear that hope is not lost.

Elsewhere on never knows best is “fooly cooly,” which navigates the personality, mentality, and psyche of troubled FLCL character Mamimi Samejima. The philosophical title of the project was inspired by Mamimi who scribbles the words never knows best on her cigarette. Throughout the project’s 10 tracks, boyband uses his lyrics to speak candidly about depression and the intense experiences of indifference, despondency, and social fatigue often felt by young adults in an effort to normalize these conversations. never knows best has garnered support from the likes of Hollywood Life, All Things Go, AFROPUNK, and Alternative Press who included boyband in their 40 New Artists You Need To Know feature.

The exploration of Mamimi’s character arc isn’t the first time that anime has stirred boyband to create. “death note” (feat. Billy Martin of Good Charlotte) – which appeared on his emotionally charged, 10-track project, alone in a boyband – was influenced by the 37-episode anime series and manga series of the same name.

Like the art that inspired them, “fooly cooly” and “death note” use deeply profound storytelling to expand and normalize the conversation surrounding the trouble spots in society experienced by teens today. The intimate and unique connections between boyband and his fans has allowed him to create a community-like platform through his songs, like “by myself,” “birth by sleep,” “tattoo,” “realtree” and “big face” (ft. Mike Kinsella), where fans can bond as they transition from teenagers into independent adults.

Fast-rising London based artist and multi-instrumentalist Oscar Lang has released the video for his latest single, 21st Century Hobby, off his debut album Chew The Sceneryout August 13 on Dirty Hit. The video sees Lang surrounded by a mirage of the elements and advertisements that inundate you on social media and the toxic effects it creates. 21st Century Hobby is currently featured on a variety of top playlists including Spotify’s All New Indie, The Indie List, and Today’s Indie Rock as well as Apple Music’s New Music Daily and New In Alternative.

21st Century Hobby is a tune based on the idea of society’s obsession with sharing your life online and comparing yourself to other people,” Lang shares. “There was one point where I was spending 13 hours a week on social media, which equated to about a month every year. That was a really dark time for me – I always thought that it would never affect me, but it took some time to realize that it was subconsciously affecting my mental health.”

21st Century Hobby joins Stuck, which was written to capture the emotions and complicated feelings that are often attached to the embarrassing situations we replay in our minds, and Are You Happy?, written about a friend having a really hard timein building on the cohesive blueprint of Lang’s debut album. Chew The Scenery is his most ambitious release to date, which spans topics such as growing pains, love, romance, friendships and the pitfalls of social media on our collective mental health.

All three singles demonstrate Lang’s versatility and growth as a songwriter, highlighting Chew The Scenery’s scuzzy indie rock dynamics, psychedelic flourishes, and orchestral grandiosity. “Over the past two years the sound of my music has changed a lot, from bedroom pop to rock” Lang explains. “We recorded the album over a month up in Liverpool. It was a nice break away from the tedious lockdown in the UK as I got to spend a month away with my mates doing what I love. I think you can hear that built-up boredom being released on the record.

Chew The Scenery furthers Lang’s rise following a momentous 2020 for Lang which yielded the release of three EPs, Antidote to Being BoredHand Over Your Head and Overthunk. Lang’s Apple Juice has been featured in EA Sports game FIFA 2021 while She Likes Another Boy has found an audience on TikTok – the platform where coffee, the track Lang produced for beabadoobee, has found viral legs in Powfu’s death bed (coffee for your head), which has collected over 998 million streams on Spotify alone. Along the way, Lang has also gathered praise from SPINOnes To Watch, All Things Go, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Annie Mac, and Huw Stephens, The FADERThe Line Of Best Fit, NME, CLASH, The Guardian, The Sunday Times and others.

Hot Wheels To Host First 2021 In-Person Stop in July

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour Presented by Mobil 1 to Host First 2021 In-Person Stop on July 10 in Miami

Live judging is back for Miami event with local icons helping to choose this stop’s winner, tons of cars to be showcased at this event – submit your entry now!

Family-friendly event will take place at Walmart Doral from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. EDT

The Hot Wheels Legends Tour presented by Mobil 1 kicks off its first live, in-person stop for 2021 in Miami, Florida on Saturday, July 10. Fun for the whole family, this event is set to feature amazing local custom fan builds, Hot Wheels Garage of Legends icons, including the Twin Mill, Bone Shaker, Deora II and Midas Monkey, as well as onsite experiences for fans of all ages.

The competition intensifies for this fourth North American stop, as tons of cars will be accepted and reviewed by an expert panel of judges. This team will consist of Hot Wheels designers and Miami automotive influencers, including Hot Wheels die-cast graphic designer Leeway Chang, automotive visionary Elo of Miami Supercar Rooms, John Temerian of “We Are Curated” and Maximilian Trullenque of Cars & Coffee Miami. As always, each judge will be looking for authenticity, creativity and, most importantly, garage spirit in determining which custom fan build has the chops to potentially be immortalized as the next 1:64 die-cast Hot Wheels toy.

We are excited to see these cars in person again. Miami is what we have been waiting for all year and we expect custom builds from all over the Southeast to register,” said Ted Wu, Global Head of Design for Hot Wheels. “In true challenger spirit, these live tour stops allow builders to showcase their passion projects, and provide a fun, friendly experience for the whole family, which is exactly what Hot Wheels is all about.

As in previous events, the winner of this stop will go on to compete in the finals later this year to see if their build will be inducted into the Hot Wheels Garage of Legends and immortalized as the next 1:64 die-cast toy sold around the world. So far this year, North American winners include a 1968 Mercedes Benz 250S from Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, a custom aluminum racer named Lulu from Santa Fe, New Mexico, and the 1969 Daytona Charger Superbird “Scraptona” from Macob, Michigan.

JORDAN MCGRAW RELEASES NEW SINGLE SHE, DEBUT EP COMING SOON

Emerging as one of the year’s boldest breakthrough talents, pop singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer Jordan McGraw shares a new single entitled SHE.

SHE stands out as yet another head-nodding bop from Jordan. Funkified guitar weaves in and out of a slick beat as his voice flutters from hypnotic verses into an unshakable and undeniable hook rife with high-register flare. Painting a vivid picture, he sings, “She likes to talk in her sleep. A simple conversation turning into a scene. She likes to fight in her sleep. An irrational account of an encounter with me.

His most recent single HER has already racked up over half-a-million cumulative streams and counting. Right out of the gate, E! Online praised it as “ripe for dancing,” while American Songwriter touted its “refined glimmers of far-reaching sonic approaches that coalesce into a universally resonant song story. The Honey Pop hailed it as “an absolute earworm!” Alfitude summed it up best as an “infectiously catchy slice of funky retro-pop that will stay in your head all day.” Not to mention, he spoke to French Fries Magazine about its composition.

Everything paves the way for his first EP—coming very soon. He’s bringing the funk back to pop in 2021!

Making headlines, Jordan also took the stage for a showstopping performance of HER on The Late Late Show with James Corden. He also sat down with Corden for an interview. Jordan also recently played an MTV IG TV Jam Session.

The Texas-born and Los Angeles-based pop maverick strikes a singular balance between eighties synth-craft and 21st century unpredictability, yielding a bop suited to any era.

“I’m a nineties kid making eighties music in 2021,” he affirms. “All of my favorite things are from the nineties. At the same time, the eighties were so absurd and overly polished that they were still cool,” he says.  “During the process of recording the song, I was chasing my now-wife,” he explains. “While I was on tour, I was trying to figure out how to woo her. It was the perfect storm of the song growing with the actual process of she and I growing into what we are now. Everything worked out naturally.”

Jordan McGraw established himself as an outlier right out of the gate. He went from touring with iconic pop punk bands to generating millions of streams and supporting Jonas Brothers on the record-breaking HAPPINESS BEGINS Tour. Signed to Let’s Get It Records! by Joe Jonas, he arrives with more music in 2021 as he prepares his debut EP for release soon.

If your favorite nineties-born pop rocker took a time machine to 1983 and brought synths with him back to the twenty-twenties, what would it sound like?

Enter Jordan McGraw. He takes familiar sounds and turns them into fresh feels, presenting his own “Modern Day Nostalgia. In essence, he not only blends genres, but he also fuses eras, serving up future-facing pop with unassuming rockstar ambition sharpened by a punk edge. Following a move from his native Texas to Los Angeles, his high school band packed The Roxy on the Sunset Strip. Eventually, he wound up in City (Comma) State and hit the road on a 2010 sold-out tour with multiplatinum pop punk institution All Time Low. During 2012, he launched Stars In Stereo, releasing two albums with the group and supporting genre favorites such as The Used on tour. After fronting Hundred Handed, he kicked off his solo career in 2018. He linked up with hip-hop legend T-Pain for a Remix of his buzzy solo single FLEXIBLE, while he penned We Should Still Be Friends from his 2019 self-titled EP with Alex Gaskarth of All Time Low. During 2019, Jonas Brothers personally invited him to open up their historic HAPPINESS BEGINS Tour in arenas nationwide, and Joe Jonas signed him to Let’s Get It Records. After generating millions of streams independently and crisscrossing the country on tour with Jonas Brothers and Bebe Rexha, he reintroduces himself on a series of singles for Let’s Get It Records/Republic Records led by HER.

Cicadas Take Over LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester

New York City has avoided a major Cicada invasion – until now.

The large insects, which are 1-2 inches long, are part of the largest brood of periodical cicadas in the nation. The last time they came to New York in 2004, they arrived around May 13.

Dozens of LEGO Cicadas have overtaken iconic NYC attractions like the Statue of Liberty in LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester‘s MINILAND attraction, a LEGO replica of New York City. Matthew Graham, Master Model Builder of LEGOLAND Discovery Center Westchester, was able to replicate these intriguing insects with 22 LEGO bricks including bricks like bucket handles for legs. These LEGO creatures will be on display until mid-July for guests to spot.

Also at LEGOLAND Westchester, you can enjoy the ultimate two-story indoor LEGO playground and escape the summer heat! Surround yourself with millions of LEGO Bricks, take flight on Merlin’s Apprentice, blast skeletons on Kingdom Quest ride adventure, see your favorite characters on LEGO 4D Theater, and build epic LEGO creations alongside master builders! LEGOLAND Westchester is consistent with updated guidance from the state of New York and the CDC, following all COVID protocols. Face coverings for guests who are fully vaccinated will no longer be required, but still recommended.

VILLAGERS UNVEIL NEW SONG AND VIDEO FOR SO SIMPATICO

FIFTH ALBUM, FEVER DREAMS, OUT AUGUST 20TH

As the release of Villagers fifth album Fever Dreams edges closer – due August 20 via Domino – Conor O’Brien is delighted to unveil the second song from the upcoming record. The new track, So Simpatico, begins with twinkling glockenspiel and intimate vocals, before swelling to a transformative and mesmerizing refrain from O’Brien: “The more I know, the more I care.”

Conor says of So Simpatico, “Its a song of devotion, whether to a person, the self, or the art of being, a struggle for authenticity is at its core. We all jammed and recorded an early version with too many words, and I took it home and simplified it until it was as pure an expression as possible. Its a pop song about the essence of love.”

Director Rosie Barrett adds about the video, “So Simpatico is a journey of awakening and self-reflection of a sad clown finding love within himself and sparking that zest for life that was lost some time ago. Creating a visual narrative for this beautiful song was a joy as I have been long admiring Conor’s music. I had the pleasure of working with a brilliant cast and crew in the making and I am very excited to see this video out in the world.”

Fever Dreams is a paean to human connection. The songs on the album were found in many places, from connections at County Meath’s Another Love Story festival and night swimming on a Dutch island to Flann O’Brien, Audre Lorde, David Lynch, L. S. Lowry via the library music of Piero Umiliani and Alessandro Alessandroni and jazz from Duke Ellington and Alice Coltrane. O’Brien says on the gestation of Fever Dreams, “I had an urge to write something that was as generous to the listener as it was to myself. Sometimes the most delirious states can produce the most ecstatic, euphoric, and escapist dreams.”

There are 4 different album artworks for Fever Dreams, all related to the album’s themes through constellations included in Ptolemy’s 2nd-century list of 48 constellations: Ursa Major (bear), Aquila (eagle), Cassiopeia (elk) & Serpens (snake). O’Brien adds, “I think constellations as representations of how we search for shapes, meaning, and pattern in order to gain a sense of control over our existence and lives.”

Fever Dreams follows The Art Of Pretending To SwimDarling Arithmetic{Awayland} and Becoming A Jackal. Conor O’Brien also has a string of accolades under his belt including two Ivor Novello Awards, two Mercury Music Prize nominations and is a previous winner of Ireland’s Choice Music Prize.

Additionally, Villagers’ music has featured in the BBC/Hulu series Normal People and their Spotify session of Nothing Arrived has hit over 165 million streams.

Also, Villagers’ have announced a run of UK instore shows for August before they head out on their headline Irish and UK tour in autumn. Having already sold out two dates at Dublin’s Vicar Street, a third has been added.

After selling over 100,000 tickets since its April 15 Miami debut, Primo Entertainment extends its production of Beyond Van Gogh with expanded programming through August 14.

Primo Entertainment is excited to announce the continuation of its wildly celebrated Miami production of Beyond Van Gogh at The Ice Palace Studios through August 14, 2021 (one extra month past its original 3-month period). Due to popular demand after a very successful initial 2 months in Miami, the traveling experience plans to lay deeper roots in South Florida to continue welcoming guests of all ages from all corners of the globe. Adding to the show’s already unique and innovative format, Primo Entertainment is adding more unique whimsy to its Ice Palace festivities.

Three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multi-platinum band Maroon 5 have made history once again. The group’s latest smash Beautiful Mistakes (feat. Megan Thee Stallion) has captured #1 at Hot AC, marking their 15th career #1 and extending their record for “most #1 entries by any artist at the format.” It also notably stands out as three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning multiplatinum rapper Megan Thee Stallion’s first #1 at Hot AC. It is available on the band’s seventh full length album, JORDI, which also recently picked up a Gold Certification from the RIAA.

Beyond collecting millions of streams, JORDI has earned critical acclaim. Variety cited its “bangers and much-needed good vibes,” and Atwood Magazine attested, “Many of the ingredients that make ‘Beautiful Mistakes’ the enjoyable single that it is are included on much of the rest of JORDI.”

The summer of Maroon 5 has only just begun. The band will embark on a full-scale North American Headline Tour in August following the postponement of their tour in 2020 (dates listed below). Canvasing the country for eight weeks, and produced by Live Nation, the tour kicks off on August 10 in Auburn, WA at White River Amphitheatre and stops at legendary venues such as Wrigley Field in Chicago, IL on August 30 and Fenway Park in Boston, MA on September 12. Additionally, the group will play its biggest hometown headline show ever at the new Banc of California Stadium in Los Angeles, CA on October 2 before the tour ends on October 8 at Concord Pavilion in Concord, CA. blackbear will support on all dates. As part of their upcoming 2021 tour, Maroon 5 is set to be one of the headliners at the iHeart Music Festival in Las Vegas and the Music Midtown Festival in Atlanta this September. Sophie Muller will also be serving as the tour’s creative director.

The first release off the album, Beautiful Mistakes features Megan Thee Stallion. blackbear joins the band on Echo, while the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Stevie Nicks teams up with the group for Remedy.

Next up, Academy® Award winner H.E.R. guests on Convince Me Otherwise, and the late Juice WRLD makes a posthumous appearance on Can’t Leave You Alone. The album also includes the band’s triple platinum hit Memories and a Memories remix featuring late legend Nipsey Hussle and superstar rapper YG. Up-and-coming Zimbabwean artist Bantu is also featured on One Light. The album is available in Standard and Deluxe configurations. MONEYBAGG YO DELIVERS HIGHLY ANTICIPATED VIDEO FOR WOCKESHA WITH APPEARANCE FROM LIL WAYNE 

Today, multiplatinum musician Moneybagg Yo unveiled the long-awaited video for his hit song Wockesha, which he co-directed alongside Ben Marc.

The breezy visual kicks off with a cameo from hip-hop legend Lil Wayne, who divulges his infamous speech on dismissing those who can’t mind their business.  Frame by frame, we see Moneybagg Yo become disillusioned by a lover which includes him seeing a mirage that equates to a complicated relationship.

Wockesha quickly became a fan favorite from the release of Bagg’s critically acclaimed fourth studio albumA Gangsta’s Pain, which recently earned gold-certification from the RIAA. On the metaphorical record, which samples DeBarge’s pillowy track, Stay With Me, Bagg finds himself taping into more of his emotional side. The Southern artist opens about indulging on his toxic pleasures, he raps “One minute I’m done with you, the next one I be runnin’ back. Go your way, I go my way, but somehow we be still attached.” Today the track has nearly 150 million streams globally across all streaming partners and has charted on the Billboard Hot 100.

Over the weekend, Bagg hit the stage at the 2021 BET Music Awards to perform a medley of Wockesha and his No. 1 song Time Today, which VIBE Magazine praised Moneybagg Yo gets the crowd turned up as he tears through his performance, delivering each line with the fervor and conviction heard on the actual record.” To date, A Gangsta’s Pain has cumulatively tallied over 300 million streams and counting. Meanwhile, Billboard, Complex, and UPROXX have already listed it as “Best Albums of 2021 So Far.”
