AMERICAN AUTHORS – NICE AND EASY

AMERICAN AUTHORS PERFORM NEW SINGLE “NICE AND EASY” ON KELLY AND RYAN

For Kelly and Ryan‘s 4th of July weekend celebration, pop rock trio American Authors performed their brand new single Nice and Easy and were interviewed about what they’ve been up to since the pandemic stopped them from touring. The band divulged that there’s more new music and a full album on the way!

For the release of Nice and Easy, American Authors joined forces with Mark McGrath of Sugar Ray to create the perfect summer BBQ soundtrack song. The laidback anthem takes a break from the chaos of the last year and reminds listeners to cut themselves some slack. “Its been a really hard year and Nice And Easy is a reminder to slow it down and get back to the basics of living life to your full potential,” says lead vocalist/guitarist Zac Barnett.

The new song is also a toast to new beginnings for the band, who are releasing the single independently and have begun producing their music on their own from top-to-bottom. After amassing 1 billion-plus streams, picking up multi-platinum and gold plaques, and selling out shows everywhere, the guys grabbed the reins and assumed dominion over their future in 2021. Composed of Zac, Dave Rublin (bass, keys), and Matt Sanchez (drums), American Authors are fully embracing their newfound independence and heading back to their roots. Zac shares, “Nice And Easy is the most ‘American Authors’ song weve released in a long time. Not only did we write and produce the song completely ourselves, but we really wanted to make something fun while keeping our signature message of hope.”

Since forming at Berklee College of Music in Boston during 2006, American Authors have become embedded in both popular music and culture. After grinding it out independently, they dropped their debut album, Oh, What A Life, in 2014 on Island Records. It eventually went gold and yielded the triple-platinum anthem Best Day of My Life. It not only soared to #11 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it also became ubiquitous across film, television, video games, and sports. To date, they’ve landed over 600 syncs and counting. 2016’s What We Live For housed the Top 20 hit Go Big or Go Home.  In 2019, their third full-length, Seasons, picked up widespread acclaim. Earmilk raved, “Each track on the album is an energetic anthem of raw raspy rock bursting with heart and soul,” and Unclear Magazine attested,  This album lights the fire for a much more relatable listen that forces audiences to think about their own experiences in a new way.

In addition to headlining, they hit the road alongside the likes of Andy Grammer, OAR, OneRepublic, The Revivalists, and The Fray and graced the bills of festivals such as LollapaloozaFirefly Music FestivalBottleRock Napa ValleyReading & Leeds Festivals, and Warped Tour. 2020 marked various changes. Finishing up their tenure in the major label system, the band went independent. They also reconfigured as a trio and unlocked a different level of inspiration.

Theres a whole new energy we havent really felt in a long time,” Zac admits. “Weve not only written some of the best songs weve ever written, but we also feel like the music is the truest manifestation of the sound of American Authors. Whether its for the group or on solo projects, weve been working together on everything. It brings us back to what the band is supposed to be, which is a group of friends having fun.”

That spirit carries over to the single Nice & Easy. Entirely crafted by the band themselves, it kicks off their fresh chapter with boisterous horn-powered production, handclaps, and sunny inspiring lyrics. Zac trades verses with McGrath before the chantable chorus rings out with the ultimate upbeat mantra, “I’m gonna kick back, just relax, enjoy the summer breeze, and slow it down just for now, take it nice and easy.

Since we made it 100% ourselves, its completely American Authors”, grins Zac. “Last year was tough, so the general vibe is weve got to get back to basics, go one step at a time, not stress too much when were moving forward, take things as they come, and ease back into life. Were super big fans of Mark and grew up listening to him. We got to work on the song face-to-face, and hes literally the nicest and most energetic person.

In the end, American Authors are doing exactly what they were always meant to do.

“When you listen to us, the goal is for you to leave feeling hopeful and in a better mood, Zac insists. The main thing we want is for you to go out and have fun. After the past year, I can see how much this band represents friendship, compassion, and good vibes all around. It’s a message of hope, man.”

Ethereum adds over 5 million new unique addresses in 30 days

The world’s largest smart contract development platform, Ethereum (ETH), has added over 5 million more unique addresses in just 30 days as the asset continues to gain momentum ahead of its scheduled EIP-1559 upgrade.

According to data compiled by Finbold, Ethereum added 5.37 million new unique addresses in the last 30 days (June 6th, 2021 – July 6th, 2021). This means that on average, the Ethereum network added 173,235 new unique addresses daily.

The total number of distinct Ethereum addresses has grown to 162,231,196. Lately, ETH has indeed experienced a drive-in demand, which has contributed to its cumulative address growth after the asset experienced massive capital outflows last month.

ETH demand on the rise

Recently, Celsius Network CEO Alex Mashinsky stated that Ethereum ‘flippening’ Bitcoin is happening now and will become more widespread. Broader adoption of Ethereum is expected as Mashinsky believes that layer two solutions will fix ETH’s issues in the near future.

ETH 2.0, on the other hand, will be a substantial and gradual enhancement on layer two solutions, but both systems will function in tandem in the future, according to Mr. Mashinsky.

A week ago, Ethereum overtook Bitcoin in total daily active addresses for the first time in crypto history, suggesting that demand for the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency is rising. The active addresses on a crypto network show the total number of senders and receivers for a given coin.

Since Ethereum has notably surpassed Bitcoin in terms of daily active addresses, it might signal that the world’s second-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization is on its path to becoming the most popular.

For example, U.S. investment bank Goldman Sachs, considers the Ethereum blockchain network to have the capability to usurp Bitcoin as the main store of value cryptocurrency.

The multinational financial institution believes that ether’s use cases now have the most “potential,” as it is the most popular smart contract development among the crypto community, according to a Business Insider report published on Tuesday,

Ethereum EIP-1559 upgrade

On August 4th, the long-awaited London EIP-1559 upgrade for the Ethereum network will commence.

In a block activation proposal on Github on July 6th, Ethereum principal developer Tim Beiko stated on Twitter the mainnet upgrade will take place around block 12,965,000.

Since the mainnet upgrade is scheduled to deploy at block 12,965,000, the London hard fork will take place on August 4th, rather than the mid-to-late July date as expected initially. If the different Ethereum client teams agree to the proposal, the target will become official.

Before deciding on a mainnet launch date, developers are monitoring the testnets to see how the updates function.

On June 24th, the first block was generated on the Ropsten testnet, and the hard fork was deployed to the Goerli testnet on June 30th, and the final Rinkeby testnet launch is scheduled for today.

Deployment of the deflationary Ethereum upgrade

The London upgrade named after the second-annual Ethereum development conference, which took place in 2015, is intended to bring the network into a deflationary mode; however, the EIP-1559 upgrade will not necessarily result in lower gas fees.

EIP-1559 upgrade modifies the auction process for the charge calculation structure and burns a portion of the transaction fees. The upgrade will cause asset deflation over time, which will increase once mining ends, and proof-of-stake becomes the dominant consensus method later next year. ConsenSys, an Ethereum software solutions business, estimates that the yearly ETH supply will be cut by 1.4%.

On the Ropsten testnet; a web page has been put up to observe this in action, it burnt 89,148 ETH during the brief testing time, which is almost $208 million at current rates.

The Goerli testnet has burned 79 ETH, while the Rinkeby testnet is anticipated to debut on July 7.

MUZI – FOOL’S LOVE FT. BLACKROSE

MUZI RETURNS WITH A TALE OF A MILLENNIAL LONGING FOR LOVE WITH FOOL’S LOVE FT. BLACKROSE

“Quite simply represents the best of what South African music can offer today.” – Nova Radio (France)

“Muzi is one to watch, one to listen to, and most importantly one to dance to.”
PIOTR ORLOV, AFROPUNK

“An invigorating cocktail of high-energy bass music and ear-catching African rhythms” – MIXMAG

“Super-catchy electronica” – THE INDEPENDENT

Continuing the story from previous album Afrovision’s ‘Microwave Love’, Muzi‘s newest single, ‘Fool’s Love’ will drop worldwide on Wednesday, 7 July. The third single from his highly anticipated upcoming album (to be announced shortly), Fool’s Love features frequent collaborator, BlackRose. Clout Killed The Kids are once again video directors with the talented Rashid Bhika as the D.O.P.

Instant gratification that leads to a constant honeymoon phase with no real connection,” is the main theme Muzi explored in the irresistible lyrics and melody. The video sees Muzi being “clowned” by his pursuit for an unrequited love. Ditching his signature rolled beanie and leather jacket and pants, Muzi takes on a new look with a full chrome clown suit and a bouquet of red roses and balloons.

‘Fool’s Love’ is a fitting glimpse of the forthcoming album, setting the cosmic stage for another chapter in the adventures of Muzi’s alter-ego, Zulu Skywalker. The single and video encapsulate so much of what makes Muzi unique; self-love, vulnerability, a sense of place and a powerful uncompromising audio and visual aesthetic.

The track follows on from recent releases ‘Interblaktic’ and ‘Need Dat’ feat. The Temple, all of which will be featured on his album out this fall.

RHYME SO – POSEABLE

RHYME SO Drop Striking New Video POSEABLE, latest video from Japanese-Australian experimental dance-pop duo

RHYME SO – a Japanese-Australian experimental dance-pop duo – have released a wildly creative new music video POSEABLE via 88INFINITY. It’s their latest video since 2020’s Fashion Blogger, and a taste of what’s to come from one of music’s most fascinating enigmas.

The video, which was partly shot in a capsule hotel in Tokyo, pokes fun at society’s compulsive obsession with digital validity, hopping from one Instagram-worthy pose to another. The visual includes a cameo from Mari Natsuki, the beloved Japanese actress known for her maternal roles in Studio Ghibli’s Spirited Away and the Japanese remake of Bewitched. Assuming the role of the tastemaking grandma, Mari embodies the song’s refrain “or grandma sends you home,” an ode to grandma’s unyielding sense of what’s good and what’s not.

“The message of POSEABLE is about going back to the roots and honoring Grandma’s sense and allowing her to be the tastemaker, as she knows what’s up when it comes to quality and the original recipe for success,” RHYME says.

At a time when the music industry is as saturated as ever, sometimes it’s not about chasing trends, but making yourself truly unique; something RHYME SO embraces to the utmost.

“We both got better at what we set out to do, and many things have happened that have re-assured us we are on the right track,” RHYME adds.

RHYME SO consists of OG Japanese dance producer Shinichi Osawa (aka SO, best known from his other artist project Mondo Grosso) and Australian-born rapper/poet/model RHYME. Shinichi and RHYME met at a party in Tokyo several years back and before long they became involved both musically and romantically. They’ve dubbed their music Blank Post Genre, a concept centered around creating a blank canvas in response to a digital age overflowing with information. It’s a way for a sonic refresh, allowing Osawa and RHYME to craft rumbling dance music complete with lyrics poking fun at modern life.

POSEABLE is RHYME SO’s latest release on 88INFINITY, a sub-label of 88rising, perhaps the preeminent Asian record label in the world. RHYME SO’s hypnotic debut single Just Used Music Again appeared on 88rising’s 2019 compilation “Head In The Clouds II”, which they followed up with Fashion Blogger, another iconic music video depicting a fictional figure skating contest, guest starring MILK from Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

POSEABLE is well suited for dancefloor mayhem and RHYME SO looks forward to bringing their refreshingly unique, cutting-edge brand of dance music stateside in the coming months.

Making Sure You Move to a Safe New Home

Moving is a very big deal for most people, and a lot of movers become very stressed when they are heading to a new home and area. Naturally, you want to ensure the home and the area you move to are going to be safe and secure for you and your loved ones, so it is important to do some research before you make any commitments or decisions. Fortunately, there are plenty of online tools and services that can help you to do this, and this includes address lookup tools among other things.

If you want to make use of tools such as this, you can click here to find address lookup sites. These sites can make it much easier for you to try to find out information about a specific property and those living there, and it means that you can conduct more thorough research when it comes to the area you are moving to. In this article, we will provide some tips on how to move to a safe new home.

What You Should Do

If you want to reduce stress levels and increase the chances of moving to a safe and suitable new home and area, there are a few steps you can take. Some of these are:

Check Crime Stats Online

One of the things you should do to determine the safety of the home and area you are moving to is to look at crime statistics for the area. You can do this easily and quickly online, and it will give you a far better idea of the crime levels in the area. This can then help you to find out more about how safe and suitable the area will be for you and your loved ones. It can also provide you with increased peace of mind.

Do a Check on Other Addresses

Using the lookup tools mentioned earlier, you can also do a search on addresses that are nearby such as your next-door neighbors and others living in your street. This will enable you to try to learn more about the people who live directly by your new home, which then makes it easier to determine safety. For instance, you may be able to see whether your neighbor has any criminal past, and you can do the same with others on your street. This is something that can prove invaluable to those who want to ensure they move to the right sort of area.

Search Your Own Address

One additional thing you can do by using these tools is to search the address of the property you are moving to. This could provide you with a range of information, including the details of past owners of the property. This then gives you an idea of whether there was anyone with a serious criminal history living at the property, which could also have an impact on safety.

These are some of the ways in which you can use address lookup and other tools to move to a safe area.

Differences Between Spray-on and Roll-on Bed Liners

The benefits of installing a truck bed liner far exceed the cost implications of installing one. Truck liners protect cargo, truck integrity, provide protection from internal dents and scratches and also convenience of keeping the truck clean. All in all, it is a good investment.

Truck bed liners are accessories made of polyurea elastomer composite. It is a durable material that lines the truck bed that can withstand outdoor elements and cargo workload.

Here we will dive deep into the differences between the spray and roll on bed liner application and the advantages and drawbacks, so you can make an informed decision before embarking on a DIY project.

One thing’s for sure – bed liners do provide protection for your truck bed against wear and tear. Trucks are for hauling, carrying debris, mobilization, or the usual rough off-road activities. These are harsh conditions that can wear out your truck bed.

Roll-on bed liners

A do-it-yourself roll-on bed liner can cost $100-$200, significantly cheaper than the drop-in and spray-on alternative by more than half.

There are four roll-on bed liners available in the market today – polyurethane formulation (the basic), oil-based, water-based and urethane. All vary in features, but all are inclusive of brush kits for convenience.

This option is like any homestyle painting activity. Most of the tools for a DIY bed liner project are available in any local hardware store. This great liner can protect your pick-up’s bed from corrosion and moisture with a guarantee of unrivaled UV protection for up to a decade. It also offers a textured finish that provides the bed with an anti-skid feature to keep items and gear from sliding down the truck bed. Wood, metal, and concrete are some surfaces that are possible to apply roll-on paint – a versatile material yielding a much cheaper end product.

Spray-on bed liners

As the name implies, a vital spray gun tool is needed to apply spray-on bed liners. Aside from a spray gun, an air compressor is also one of the tools. A unique feature for spray-on bed liners is the ability of the material to lull sounds and vibrations that are distracting while on the road. It is also resistant to rust and sun exposure. The only drawback of this method is that the application is not a DIY sort of thing. Manufacturers generally apply it using a spray system; thus, this can be a more expensive option. A professionally installed spray-on bed liner costs $500-$1,000. The application requires specific technical capabilities, especially on navigating the pressurized spray brush.

In summary, both roll-on and spray-on provide a textured finish product that acts as a non-skid flooring. Both also offer protection from scratches, corrosion, moisture and wear and tear. The differences lie in the method and ease of application and the costs. A roll-on bed liner appears to be much cheaper and relatively easy to apply. If you are budget-conscious, a roll-on bed liner is a good choice.

Rafting Adventure With Western River Expeditions

With record heat covering the West you need a strategy if you want to enjoy the outdoors. The master of rafting vacations, Western River Expeditions, offers seven out-of-the-box tips for how to stay cool on a summer vacation.

“Hot and dry means people want to get onto and into the water,” said Kam Wixom, Marketing Director and veteran guide. “Our staff and clients have come up some great tips over the years that help keep us all comfortable when the temperatures get extreme.”

Wixom recalls the summer of 1997 when temperatures in the Grand Canyon reached 123 degrees Fahrenheit. Already playing out this summer were higher-than-usual temperatures in the West. “We bought the newspaper just to prove to others back home that we (easily) survived some of the hottest temperatures we’d ever experienced. The thing is, we really did survive it easily.” Here’s how:

  • Full Body Immersion – Get yourself soaked in the cold Colorado River. Linger in the water to reduce your core body temperature.
  • Wear Only Cotton – We often think of quick-drying fabrics when we’re near the water, but to stay cool when you’re near water and temperatures are soaring, think cotton. This fabric, unlike synthetics, retains water, keeping you wet and cool. Choose cotton when it comes to bandanas, hats, neck scarves and sarongs.
  • Drink Lots of Water – Stay properly hydrated by drinking two ounces of water for every ounce of alcohol or caffeine. And even before you’re thirsty – drink water. Sodas are diuretics that can cancel out hydration, so don’t think you’re only drinking soda to stay hydrated.
  • Electrolytes Matter — You can drink all the water you want, but if you are not coupling it with electrolytes (vitamins and minerals), you still run a risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. Yes, munch on salty potato chips and sugary cookies at lunch or take along some electrolyte tablets. They come in a variety of brands and flavors.
  • Wear a Hat – Instead of putting earth-friendly sunscreen on your forehead (which often ends up in your eyes), wear a hat to keep the sun from pounding on your head. A hat can help protect from heatstroke and it protects your eyes.
  • Indulge in a Sarong – Western River Expeditions stocks sarongs in its company store, Red Rock Outfitters. Sarongs are loved by both women and men as they can be easily dipped in the water and draped wet across your whole body.
  • Start a Water Fight! – Not that we are endorsing rowdy behavior, but a couple of water cannons and bail buckets are good items to bring along and use on a surprise attack on an unsuspecting neighboring raft. The goal is to drench your opponents, a welcome outcome on a hot day!

It is still not too late to secure a spot on a raft trip this year. Contact Western River Expeditions today for a full list of available trips and dates.

About Western River Expeditions

It is the largest licensed outfitter in the Grand Canyon and the largest single tour provider in Moab, UT, through its division Moab Adventure Center.

Western River Expeditions, providing Grand Canyon rafting, Utah and Idaho rafting, and international multi-sport trips, was founded in 1961 by Colorado River rafting pioneer Jack Currey. It has been named one of the “Best Adventure Travel Companies on Earth” by the editors of National Geographic Adventure magazine. Over 150 people shot, more than 400 shootings over the weekend

By: Kai Yeo

In June, the total reported number of shootings were at 272. According to data compiled by the Gun Violence Archive (GVA), at least 150 people were killed by gun violence in more than 400 reported shootings across the country as major cities nationwide confront a surge in gun violence during the Fourth of July weekend. The 72-hour data chart includes shooting accidents and gun violence victims and has constantly been updating.

New Yorkers saw 21 shootings that injured 26 people between Friday and Sunday, according to the New York Police Department, is a decrease from the same period last year when 30 people were shot in 25 shootings. On July 4, NYC experienced 12 shooting incidents that involved 13 victims, an increase from last year when there were eight shootings and eight victims.

Gun violence incidents in New York have spiked almost 40% over the same period in 2020, with 767 shootings and 885 victims.

In Chicago, 92 people were shot over the holiday weekend, 16 of whom died. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the 76 wounded include six children and teenagers, and two Chicago police officers who were dispersing a crown on the city’s West Side.

The homicide rate in Chicago this year is 2% lower than the same period in 2020, but the number of victims is still 14% higher.

Mass Shootings

GVA defines a mass shooting “based only on the numeric value of four or more shot or killed, not including the shooter.”

Eight people were injured in a shooting near a car wash in Fort Worth, Texas, early Sunday morning after a group of men got into an argument. Fort Worth Police released a statement on Twitter than an officer heard gunfire around 1:30am and found eight people with gunshot wounds upon arrival at the scene.

A KTLA report shows that two men were killed and seven people were injured in a neighborhood late Sunday night in North Las Vegas. Police say that victims were chased through Venice neighborhood before deadly car-to-car shooting.

In Norfolk, Virginia, four children were shot on Friday afternoon – a 6-year-old girl, a 14-year-old boy, a 16-year-old girl, and 16-year-old boy – the 6-year-old girl was reported to have life-threatening injuries; however, she is now considered to be in stable condition. Detectives have charged a 15-year-old boy with the following: malicious wounding, attempted malicious wounding, shooting into an occupied building, possession of a firearm by a juvenile, and two counts of use of a firearm.

In suburban Atlanta, police responded to a report on Saturday and found golf professional Gene Siller shot near the green of the 10th hole of the Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw. This was also where he worked as the golf pro, according to the Cobb County police. Siller was found unresponsive with an “apparent gunshot wound to the head” and pronounced dead at the scene, along with two other gunshot victims on the course.

One juvenile dead and eleven others were injured in a shooting at a block party in Toledo, Ohio on Sunday night. According to Police Chief George Kral, more than 80 rounds were fired from multiple guns. Two victims, a 51-year-old and a 19-year-old, are in critical condition, Kral said, and the other nine people wounded are in stable condition, their ages ranging from an 11-year-old to three 19-year-olds.

Cincinnati police said two males (16 and 19) were killed and three others were injured at a holiday celebration at a park late Sunday night. The two were “engaged in a verbal altercation that resulted in them exchanging gunfire” and the other victims were caught in the crossfire. Two girls (16 and 17) and a 15-year-old boy were wounded in the shooting. According to Cincinnati police Chief Eliot Isaac, the 17-year-old girl is in critical condition while the other two victims suffered gunshot wounds that were not life-threatening.

Dallas police responded to two separate shootings on July 4. A 61-year-old man was killed in the first incident after being shot “multiple times in the street during a disturbance” and died at a local hospital. The second incident involved five men who were shot, and three of the victims were pronounced dead after being transported to a nearby hospital.

The Happy Fits have released the video for the title track of their sophomore record, What Could Be Better. The new video tells the next chapter of the band’s previous visual for “Get a Job” which saw the band — Calvin Langman, Ross Monteith, and Luke Davis — enter Calvin in an area pickleball tournament and ultimately win a one-million-dollar prize. In this episode Ross and Luke revisit the tournament using a time machine they create and put things right by sabotaging the championship match after Calvin’s new wealth goes to his head.

This is the 10th and final video of the What Could Be Better video series, a project which saw The Happy Fits release a video for each track on the album, garnering over 1.4 million views.

Shortly after the release of their album What Could Be Better in 2020, The Happy Fits found themselves at a crossroads with their national tour canceled. Instead of accepting defeat, they returned to New Jersey and built a “command center” in their basement, creating an ambitious plan of attack with ten homebrewed videos. The success of these videos mirrors the band’s growth over the past year including their first Billboard charting with focus track, “Hold Me Down,” landing at #30 on the Alternative Airwaves chart and their monthly listeners jumping to over 775,000 on Spotify as they approach 50 million global streams.

What Could Be Better

Built on the desire to connect with a world that’s sometimes distant, What Could Be Better is a mission statement that’s meant to be shared, channeling youthful malaise into songs like “The Garden,” “Sailing,” “Two of Many,” and “Hold Me Down” that demand to be sung as a celebration of our collective ability to overcoming the obstacles, barriers and hurdles we all maneuver in our effort to level up morally and emotionally.

Alternative Press, DuJour, PopMatters, Atwood Magazine and others have all signed on to champion the band’s unique, guitar-and-cello rock, with NPR asking “What Could Be Better? I honestly don’t know.” Their vividly written songs emphasize growing pains and life-changing realizations, which has helped The Happy Fits cultivate an eager and engaged fanbase who have propelled consumption rates through the roof.

In addition to their music, the band regularly connect with their fans through their Twitch channel or YouTube Gaming channel, where they explore the worlds of Minecraft, Among Us, Stardew Valley and Call of Duty (which they recently played with Ryan Key of Yellowcard). You can catch their weekly live series by adding their linktr.ee to your bookmarks.
