Introduction

Elevating your style is not just about what you wear but how you wear it. Few men’s formalwear offers the same sophistication and versatility as a grey tuxedo. Whether preparing for a wedding, a gala, or a black-tie event, mastering the art of wearing a grey tuxedo can take your style game to new heights. Let’s explore the nuances of this classic yet contemporary ensemble and discover how to make it your own.

The Versatility of Grey

Compared to its more conventional siblings in black or navy, a gray tuxedo gives a contemporary take on formal wear. Because of its muted color, you may put your style on it without sacrificing its noticeable sophistication and elegance. From dark charcoal to light grey, the range of hues available in a gray tuxedo from Generation Tux in Miami allows you to personalize your look to suit the event and your style completely. Whether attending a wedding, gala, or formal dinner, a grey tuxedo offers unparalleled adaptability and sophistication. Opt for lighter, airier greys for spring or summer events, or choose more profound, subdued charcoals for evening affairs or winter weddings. With the versatility of grey tuxedos, you can confidently make a stylish statement on any occasion, ensuring you look and feel your best.

Choosing the Right Shade

When selecting a grey tuxedo, it’s essential to consider various factors, including the event’s formality, your complexion, and the season. Darker shades such as charcoal or slate grey exude sophistication and lend themselves well to evening events or winter weddings, evoking a sense of timeless elegance. On the other hand, lighter hues like dove grey or silver present a fresh, contemporary aesthetic that aligns seamlessly with the vibrancy of spring or summer. By carefully considering these elements, you can ensure that your choice of grey tuxedo enhances your style and harmonizes with the occasion’s specific context, leaving a lasting impression.

Accessories to Complement

Adding accessories to your grey tuxedo outfit will help it look more put together and let you express your style. Traditional black accessories like a bow tie, cummerbund, and patent leather shoes are excellent choices for a classic and timeless look. They go well with the subtle elegance of the grey tuxedo. These essentials for formal attire guarantee a classy look that will make an impact at any event. However, add a flash of color with patterned socks or a vivid pocket square to add personality and flair to your outfit. These whimsical accents show off your style and self-assurance while giving your ensemble visual appeal. Whether you choose to accessorize conventionally or daringly, the key is to strike a balance that enhances the overall sophistication of your grey tuxedo ensemble while expressing your unique sense of style.

Grey Tuxedo Etiquette

While grey tuxedos offer unparalleled versatility, adhering to specific etiquette guidelines is essential to ensure a polished and refined appearance. Firstly, prioritize a well-tailored fit to maintain a sleek, sophisticated silhouette. Avoiding overly trendy or casual elements is paramount, as they can detract from the tuxedo’s inherent elegance. Attention to lapel width, button stance, and trouser length is crucial for achieving a refined and sophisticated look. By meticulously attending to these etiquette guidelines, you can confidently showcase your style and sophistication in a grey tuxedo ensemble, leaving a lasting impression at any formal event.

Key Takeaways

  • A grey tuxedo offers versatility and modernity while maintaining a sense of sophistication.
  • Choose the shade of grey based on the event’s formality, season, and complexion.
  • Accessorize thoughtfully to complement your grey tuxedo ensemble and add personal flair.
  • Use proper etiquette guidelines to ensure a polished and refined appearance in your grey tuxedo attire.

Conclusion

Finally, for any formal function, donning a grey tuxedo will undoubtedly enhance your look and make an impact. It is a classic alternative for the modern gentleman who appreciates sophistication and uniqueness because of its adaptability and abundance of styling possibilities. You may create a refined look that properly reflects your style by choosing the right accessories and hue with care and following formal etiquette requirements. Accepting the grace of a grey tuxedo lets you stand out from the crowd with refinement and charm by enabling you to create a bold and fashionable statement.

BUCHAREST BIENNALE 11

International Bucharest Biennial for Contemporary Art will take place September 19 – October 06, 2024, under a new direction.

In a groundbreaking move, BUCHAREST BIENNALE was successfully acquired by a new organisation. This strategic acquisition marks a significant milestone in the contemporary art landscape.

The board of directors of the newly formed organisation appointed Daniel Roșca, a Romanian cultural manager and artist, as director of the Bucharest Biennale 11. Eugen Rădescu, the former director, will take the position of director-at-large, member of the board of directors of the entire organisation and remain the co-founder of Bucharest Biennale.

The Bucharest Biennale founded 20 years ago, has long been celebrated for its commitment to pushing artistic boundaries and showcasing diverse perspectives. With this acquisition, BB11 aims to foster cross-cultural dialogue, amplify artistic innovation, and elevate the biennial experience to new heights supporting underserved communities of artists including queer community, minorities and emerging artists. BB was the first biennial in history to use an AI curator in 2021.

“I am thrilled to be at the helm of Bucharest Biennale, building upon the significant achievements to date and exploring innovative approaches to uphold the same level of excellence and introduce fresh perspectives in the realm of art.”, said Daniel Roșca, the director of Bucharest Biennale. Daniel Roșca is a cultural manager, artist and climate change activist. His artworks have been exhibited in Bucharest, Kiel, Ulft, Geneva, Copenhagen and Paris, among others. Since 2017, he has been a founding member of the Grund, an organisation promoting emerging Romanian artists, facilitating artistic and philosophical education, and larger exposure for emerging artists.

BUCHAREST BIENNALE 11 will unfold under the theme “Democracy’s Uncharted Territories.” The curatorial approach is anchored in the principle of participatory democracy, accentuating the engagement of citizens in decision-making processes (Smith, 2009). This conceptual framework contests the conventional role of the curator as the singular arbiter of artistic significance, advocating for a more encompassing and cooperative milieu. Additionally, it will serve as a critical commentary on the misuse of democratic rhetoric solely for vested interests by Romanian cultural actors.

In BB11, the designation of a curator will be eschewed. Rather, the entire BB11 team will function as the selection committee and curatorial collective. Participating artists will be chosen through an open call process, adhering to a first-application-first-selected approach. The open call will be disseminated in the forthcoming weeks.

LENNY KRAVITZ – HUMAN

The “Human” video, directed by legendary video director Joseph Kahn, projects the single’s bold and boisterous spirit on screen. A visual feast, it intercuts a literally traffic-stopping performance by Kravitz and his band with stunning effects and an ascension of lovers, friends, and neighbors from the streets and into the sky.

Timeless. Explosive. Romantic. Inspiring. How else to characterize Blue Electric Light, Lenny Kravitz’s 12th studio album? Recently, Kravitz was immortalized on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, received the “Music Icon Award” at the 2024 People’s Choice Awards and was also nominated as a 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee. Last month, Kravitz teamed up with Ray-Ban to launch a new Reverse collection, merging the brand’s most iconic shapes with Kravitz’s legendary persona in two special SKUs and one limited-edition style. In June, Kravitz will embark on a European tour in support of Blue Electric Light.

VICTORIA FUTRELL GOODE

Today, we pay tribute to the memory of Victoria Futrell Goode, a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She was affectionately known as Aunt Tora. She loved her family and friends with all her heart and enriched the lives of all who knew her.

On April 25, 1927, in Potecasi, North Carolina, Victoria was born to Magnus and Virginia Vergie Bradley Futrell. She received her formal education at Potecasi Grade School and continued on to W. C. Creecy High School in Rich Square, North Carolina, where she graduated in 1945. Victoria was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Potecasi, where she quickly learned that the Lord knows her name.

On March 2, 1950, Victoria married the late Raymond Goode, of Seaboard, North Carolina. They were married for over 50 years, and were devoted to each other until his passing in 2003. Their union was blessed with 7 children: Diane, Eloise, Joyce, Raymond, Denise, Cynthia and Angela. The couple raised their family in Brooklyn, NY, where they met, after migrating from the south. They were surrounded by extended family and maintained their strong ties back home in North Carolina. Victoria joined Brown Memorial Baptist Church in Brooklyn, New York where she worshiped and fellowshipped for many years. One of her favorite church hymns was One Day at a Time (Sweet Jesus). Her favorite scripture was Proverbs 3:6, In all thy ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy path.

Throughout her life, Victoria was a housewife, but because of her love of children and her desire to be a teacher, she worked as a family daycare provider and also cared for her friends and neighbors’ children. Victoria was a woman of faith who had a big heart and would share whatever she had with anyone in need. She was always a caregiver, and in this way, she served her loved ones and close knit community of Clinton Hill /Fort Greene, Brooklyn, for many years. Even in her last days, she was more concerned about how her family was managing during the COVID 19 pandemic, while they were only concerned about her.

Victoria was the matriarch of the Goode family. Her values and principles have been permanently imprinted in the hearts of those she touched. Her life was an example of grace, dignity and kindness. Victoria always had a kind word for her friends and neighbors and those who needed it. Her timeless wisdom and loving words will always be with us. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

On Monday, April 6, 2020, Victoria exited this life and entered eternal rest. In addition to her parents, and beloved late husband Raymond, she joins her late sisters, Magnolia, Rosette and Henrietta and her brother Magnus. She also joins her great-grandson, Liam and great- great- grandson Messiah.

With her service on Earth now complete, Victoria leaves behind her children: Diane, Eloise, Joyce, Raymond, Denise (husband Patrick), Cynthia (husband Kelvin), Angela, and her dear niece Maudie, who loved her like a mother; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 4 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

ROLLS-ROYCE SOLAR ELIPSE CELEBRATION

ROLLS-ROYCE CELEBRATES TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE WITH GHOST

  • Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, NA celebrates Black Badge Ghost Ekleipsis with the total solar eclipse as backdrop

  • The stunning animated Starlight Headliner adds a true sense of theatre and wonder as one observes the spellbinding solar phenomenon
  • The total solar eclipse passed over the Niagara on the Lake region from 3:22 pm to 3:28 pm on Monday April 8, 2024 an event that will not occur for another 24 years
  • Rolls-Royce Spectre, the newest member of the family joined the event

“The creative concept for Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis is drawn from the impressive natural show of a total solar eclipse; a unique occasion in nature, which underpins the rarity and visual impact of a Rolls-Royce Private Collection. Our Bespoke Collective of designers, engineers and craftspeople in Goodwood have captured the magic of this celestial alignment in a truly stunning Rolls-Royce interpretation. Our event at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, celebrates this magnificent phenomenon.”

Martin Fritsches, Chief Executive Officer, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, NA

A total solar eclipse is a truly rare occurrence. From 2011 to 2050, only six dates will see such an event. Rolls-Royce Bespoke Collective captured the fascinating nature of this phenomenon in the Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection incorporating stunning Bespoke features inspired by a total solar eclipse. Only five Ékleipsis commissions have been delivered to clients in North America.

Today, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars celebrated the event, showcasing Ghost and Spectre at an exclusive total eclipse showing in Niagara on the Lake Ontario Canada.

For nearly four minutes, the majesty of the natural phenomena stood as the backdrop for the beautiful vehicles. For As the marque’s Super Coupé and first all-electric offering, Spectre presented yet another stunning backdrop to the eclipse.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars presented the Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis Private Collection inspired by this seldom-seen wonder of a solar eclipse. Harnessing the incredible forces of this celestial phenomenon, these exquisite commissions explore the captivating interplay of light and darkness, recreating the awe-inspiring moment when the Moon completely obscures the Sun.

EXTERIOR: GOLDEN DARKNESS

The mysterious, ethereal light cast by a total solar eclipse is captured in the Lyrical Copper exterior color of the motor car. This stunning bespoke finish incorporates powdered copper pigment, which appears darker until it catches the light when it produces a rich and dramatic iridescence. Mandarin adorns the inserts below the Pantheon Grille and brake calipers, recalling the intense pulses of sunlight witnessed as the eclipse progresses. The same Mandarin hue is used for the hand-painted coachline, which includes a delicate abstract representation of the transition from sunlight to darkness as the Moon approaches to cover the Sun.

ANIMATED STARLIGHT HEADLINER

The Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis features a fully Bespoke Starlight Headliner with a special animation that, like the eclipse that inspires it, gives those inside a true sense of awe and wonder. As the coach doors close and the engine is started, the ‘stars’ in the Starlight Headliner darken and a mesmerising sequence begins, replicating the totality of the solar eclipse, when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the bright light of the Sun.

ILLUMINATED FASCIA AND ‘DIAMOND RING’ TIMEPIECE

The illuminated fascia of Rolls-Royce Black Badge Ghost Ékleipsis is adorned with 1,846 laser-etched ‘stars’ in a symbolic timeline of a total eclipse. A single Bespoke designer had sole responsibility for adjusting the individual size and position of each ‘star’ to create the mesmeric effect; a delicate and exacting process that took over 100 hours to complete.

The composition culminates in a Bespoke timepiece, which incorporates a brilliant-cut 0.5-carat diamond, recalling the ‘Diamond Ring’ effect, when a single, dazzling point of light can be seen on the Moon’s outline in the split seconds just before and immediately after it obscures the Sun.

Zurich – Europe’s Creative Hotspot

Perhaps better known for its quaint, historic old town and its charming character, Zurich is also a vibrant, 21st-century global city, home to some of the most dynamic art, culture, design, nightlife and gastronomy in Europe. New urban developments continue to pop up across Zurich’s outlying neighborhoods, attracting the likes of young entrepreneurs and artists across the city, such as in the trendy Altstetten district in the west of Zurich.

The former workshops of Swiss Federal Railways (SBB) in the Altstetten district are currently being transformed into Werkstadt Zürich (“Werkstatt” translates to “Garage” and “Stadt” translates to “City”), a multi-use space that features housing, commercial spaces, art studios, workshops, pop-ups, restaurants, coffee shops and cultural venues, as well as offices for start-ups, tech companies and more. With the goal of becoming a mini Silicon Valley of sorts, this new destination is attracting young entrepreneurs and trendy new shops, many of which have already opened their doors. The project is set to be fully completed by 2025, but many companies are already calling Werkstadt Zürich home.

Their main focus is on sustainability and using only all-natural ingredients, such as wheat protein and Swiss honey.

Beyond Werkstadt, the Altstetten district is a destination in and of itself for its thrift shops and unique finds for any traveler. In the summertime, visitors can explore the nearby island, Werdinsel on the River Limmat, where locals love to take a refreshing jump into crystal clear water at the end of the day.
