LEIPZIG

Since 2022/2023, Leipzig, the seventh-most populous city in Germany with more than 600,000 residents, is a destination worth seeing! In the state of Saxony, it is the city with the highest population. Leipzig is encircled by water, parks, and floodplain forest. Thanks to its numerous bike paths and its extensive system of small rivers and canals, it is easy to get around the green city on foot, by bike, by boat or canoe – alternatively, there is a complex public bus and tram network.

Base Camp

When we arrived, we immediately checked into Felix Suiten. Undisputed accommodation, carrying loft like suites that felt like a spacious home. With massive windows and a kitchenette, it was my chance to catch up on some cooking. Our room was right in front of the city center, which was loaded with shopping, restaurants, and nightlife.

With the giant Ferris wheel just outside our third-floor window, we were charmed by the chatter and loud laughter. And if it didn’t offer us the excitement, the music from the fourth floor lounge in tandem with the restaurant aroma prompted us to join the party. Regardless of the frigid temperatures of late December, we spotted several on bicycles, traveling by taxi and/or tram. In fact, much of the crowd seemed physically fit while they drank hot apple cider and swallowed delicious fingerfoods.

Leipzig is recognized for its exceptional art and fascinating outdoor recreation environment. It is often referred to as a city of vibrant trade, business, and music. 360 Magazine’s guided visit of Spinnerei offered a glance at this dynamic art scene. Spinnerei, formerly the largest cotton mill of continental Europe, is now home to galleries, exhibition halls, and artist studios. Since its decommissioning in 1992, the factory has been subject to constant change. Artists have developed the cotton mill into a real cosmos of art. Meanwhile, about 100 of them have their own studios at the Spinnerei, along with 11 galleries and the non-profit space Halle 14. A key figure of the so-called “New Leipzig School” is artist Neo Rauch, who was one of the first to set up his studio there.

After the success of “Imagine”, Ivan decided to abandon the banking business and pursue music full time, performing under the stage names “Peaceman” and “Sir Ivan”. Since then, he has released countless singles, many EPs, and albums- his newest release being the album LIFE.

While he’s not working on music, Ivan lives a lavish lifestyle. He’s the owner of Wilzig Castle, an estate in Water Mill near Southampton, known for throwing legendary summer parties. It’s rumored he once paid a woman $5,000 to get his name tattooed on her left buttock.

I am donating all of my recording artist royalties from my album sales to The Peaceman Foundation, which will distribute the funds to charitable organizations that battle hatred and violence against those perceived as outsiders and to those that treat P.T.S.D. I want to help save countless lives by preventing hatred and violence from happening in the first place and by keeping victims of hatred and violence from committing suicide”.

The Peaceman Foundation has supported numerous other charities, such as ACE New York, Make-A-Wish Foundation, Long Island Gay and Lesbian Youth, Museum of Jewish Heritage, and PTSD United.

Reneé Rapp – Deluxe EP

Yesterday, the singer, actress, and Broadway star, Reneé Rapp, released a deluxe edition of her first EP Everything to Everyone.

The young starlet got her start by winning Best Performance by an Actress at the Jimmy Awards, formally known as the Nation High School Musical Theater Awards. These awards, given annually, recognize musical theater performances by high school students in the United States.

In September 2019, she made her Broadway debut as Regina George in MEAN GIRLS, a musical adaptation of the iconic 2004 movie. After nearly a year in the role, Broadway went dark due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

She has since transitioned into on-screen acting, starring as Leighton Murray in The Sex Lives of College Girls, an HBO Max comedy series released in 2021. In the show, written and produced by comedian Mindy Kahling, Leighton navigates her sexuality while trying to portray her preppy, put-together persona.

Her debut EP, Everything to Everyone, was first released in November 2022, just before The Sex Lives of College Girls’ season 2 premier. Everything to Everyone, originally containing 7 songs, now boasts 2 new tracks: “Bruises” and “Everything to Everyone (Extended Version).” The EP explores Reneé’s vulnerability, sensitivity, and love life- It’s not fair, I’ve got acetone for veins. I’m so sensitive, just one touch and I feel pain. “Bruises.”

In December, Reneé was named the MTV Global PUSH Artist of the month. With around 5 million listeners on Spotify monthly, as well as multiple TV performances, it’s safe to say her musical career is off to a booming start.

About Saxkboy KD

Saxkboy KD ignites a blaze amidst new hip-hop hopefuls. His melodic drawl, a familiar but rebellious rendition of Deep South storytelling, is reminiscent of the late 80s legends of “Dirty Souf” rappers UGK.

High stepping into manhood, Saxkboy KD has already lived a life that rivals most urban fiction. Born at the family reunion in Jasper, Texas, he was destined to be a musically inclined child rocking front porches and living rooms since he was seven while vibing with family and friends to old school RnB hits and soul jams. Some of Saxkboy KD’s earliest Hip-Hop influences were already legends, including Ice Cube & Snoop Dogg, 2Pac, and the Wu-Tang Clan.  Their lyrics began to hold new, meaning as Saxkboy KD’s life hit hardest during adolescence.

Before life had truly begun, he was burdened with felony charges when he was just 17 years old. Raised in the  streets of Houston’s impoverished hoods, Saxkboy KD experienced a deeper, darker version of “getting it out the mud.”  Bracing the responsibility to provide a better life for his family by any means necessary, Saxkboy KD focused on honing his skill and toning his craft. The soulful sounds of RnB sirens like Fantasia, Keyshia Cole, and Beyonce helped him find peace and direction in the hellish “hood” he experienced spending his formative years in prison. Those closest to him, including his elder sister, Yazmyn, encouraged him to focus on his gift of writing to tell his own story.

Released from prison at age 18 and on house arrest, KD was crowned “The Opportunity” by his closest friends and focused on writing while stuck in the house, away from trouble. He had found his voice and set out to tell his story. Back outside in 2021, determined to develop a recording career, Saxkboy KD connected with local Houston rapper, Lil 3rd and started attending showcases and cyphers around town. He received a beat from a childhood friend with similar aspirations and created his first underground hit “Bipolar Depression.” While promoting this project, Saxkboy KD was introduced to Versatile Enterprises’ CEO and founder, SWAC. This union resulted in the creation of 54 songs in 21 days and an introduction to Cash Money Records and the official signing of their first Houston artist.

Jonas Brothers released new album via 360 MAGAZINE.

Jonas Brothers – Wings

Today, GRAMMY® Award-nominated powerhouse trio Jonas Brothers return with their anxiously-awaited new single “Wings,” out now via Republic Records—listen to “Wings” HERE. “Wings” launches a new era for the band and is the first single from their sixth full-length record—and one of the most anticipated releases of the year—The Album, out May 12th.

The new song is released alongside the official music video featuring actress and self-proclaimed Jonas Brothers fan Haley Lu Richardson [White Lotus]. Shot in Las Vegas and directed by Josh Rimmey and Zach Williams, the feel-good video includes an impromptu hotel room dance party and surprise cameo by the Jonas Brothers themselves—watch HERE.

Kicking off another chapter, The Album marks Jonas Brothers’ first body of work since 2019’s Platinum-Certified Happiness Begins, which debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200 and spawned the GRAMMY® Award-nominated, 5x-Platinum, Billboard Hot 100 #1 smash hit “Sucker.” Pre-order/Pre-save The Album now HERE.

Executive produced by sonic visionary artist Jon Bellion [Justin Bieber, Maroon 5, Halsey], “Wings” revs up with shimmering keys, as it embraces late 70’s pop with thick bass, hummable synth runs, and heavenly harmonies. Wrapped up with lush guitar, a head-nodding beat, and no shortage of fiery falsetto, it culminates on the instantly chantable chorus “You are the wings I need to fly away.” The band began teasing the song on socials last month to online chatter and debuted it in full for the very first time last weekend at their “Jonas Brothers: Live in Las Vegas” residency.

The Jonas Brothers said, “‘Wings’ is the perfect start to this new chapter for us. Working with Jon pushed us to explore our artistry in a way we never have before. The song is a great first taste of that creative exploration and what’s to come with THE ALBUM.”

Jon Bellion chimed in, saying, “We wanted to wipe the palette clean and demolish every expectation and box the brothers have ever been put into out the gate. We pushed ourselves to launch this thing musically into space while grounding it in a sort of Americana / Laurel Canyon nostalgia. There was a time when structure and composition mattered not only loops and vibes, and we dove into that mind frame. We went so deep into the spirit and energy of the late 70’s, the mustaches and long hair method acting approach started to just become our actual reality. The brothers have a God given ability and talent that deserves this level of record making at this point, and I just wanted to honor how special they are with this music.”

Jonas Brothers notably wrote and recorded The Album with Bellion at the helm. Together, they unlocked the next level for the band, embracing formative influences and igniting their sound from every angle. They delivered an unpredictable, undeniable, and unstoppable record uplifted by their inimitable chemistry and endless creativity.

This is The Album. This is Jonas Brothers in 2023.

ABOUT JONAS BROTHERS
Jonas Brothers lean on an unbreakable familial bond to elevate pop music. Standing out as one of the most successful groups of the 21st century, New Jersey-born brothers—Nick JonasJoe Jonas, and Kevin Jonas—have sold north of 20 million albums and counting, garnered two GRAMMY® Award nominations, earned 25 Billboard Hot 100 hits, logged three consecutive #1 debuts on the Billboard 200, and generated billions of streams. Among many accolades, they’ve claimed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and headlined legendary venues on both coasts, including Madison Square Garden in New York and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles. In 2019, they notably ignited the comeback of the decade with their Platinum-Certified Republic Records debut, Happiness Begins. It yielded the history-making, 5x-Platinum smash “Sucker,” which minted them as “the first group in the 21st century to debut at #1 on the Hot 100, exploded as the “longest running #1 Pop Airplay Single of 2019, and received a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”  Bowing at #1 on the Billboard 200, Happiness Begins impressively scored the “biggest sales week of 2019 at time of release” and housed the Double-Platinum “Only Human” and platinum “Cool.” The band supported the album with the worldwide “Happiness Begins Tour”—selling over 1.2 million tickets—and the Amazon Original documentaries Chasing Happiness and Happiness Continues. Along the way, the members simultaneously juggled prolific solo careers. However, nothing quite matches their union as Jonas Brothers, and it powers their 2023 full-length The Album, produced by Jon Bellion and introduced by the single “Wings.”
