360 MAGAZINE had the opportunity to test out the ENGWE EP-2 Pro e-bike in the concrete jungle. Please read below to find out what we thought about this practical e-bike.

Curb Appeal

Coming in at 70lbs, the ENGWE EP-2 Pro sports a conveniently foldable frame for optimal storage. Though this e-bike is heavier than other models, it offers an easy daily commute.

Available in the colors Black, Dark orange and Slate gray, the design of the e-bike is sleek and unisex. Structured with distinct and sharp lines throughout, the ENGWE carries a modern and universal sense that would adorn many.

Design

The original ENGWE comes furnished with 20 x 4.0 all-terrain tires to tackle varying landscapes. At 360, we swapped out those tires for a puncture-proof option, and acquired a saddle seat for the e-bike. The new tires were puncture-proof and withstood potholes that encompass the city.

The neck of the ENGWE can be adjusted according to passenger height with leather handlebars. The 48v 13Ah lithium battery is hidden with the suitable design of the e-bike in the battery compartment. To ensure further safety of the battery, the ENGWE made the compartment locks with a supplied key. An electric bell is, too, included with the ENGWE.

Technology

With a 5-level pedal assist, the ENGWE conforms to each passengers riding style with assistance from the LCD display screen. The 12.8 Ah battery fully charges within 5-6 hours and can be charged on the go with the charging port.

The 48 V front ambient light illuminates your pathway with bright and prominent rays. The mechanical breaks sport rear lights, sparking up when you begin to slow down.

Performance

The enhanced 750W motor is the star of the ENGWE show. The e-bike exhibits top speeds of up to 28 miles per hour, and ranges around 50 miles while in route. With easy torque customizability, passengers have the option to increase or decrease their torque.

Sex and Dating: Should You Have Sex on the First Date?

Some people say that first-date sex is a complete relationship killer, claiming that one should never come before the other. On the other hand, there’s also the opinion that there are few things better than having sex on the first date, even if it ends up being a one night stand. And then, there’s also the popular three-date rule that may not be so valid anymore. But are there truly any rules you should follow when it comes to intimacy and dating?

Without a doubt, the days when sex was a complete taboo are long gone. Still, these changes do not mean that sex isn’t a way to physically bond with another person anymore. It can help you feel a close connection and express your emotions and physicality, no matter whether you are into vanilla sex, or would rather browse suction cup dildos before doing the deed. However, what will happen if you allow intimacy to define your relationships from the beginning or even send others mixed signals

If you’re thinking about getting down to business on your very first date and feel that you could use some guidance, read on below for tips that will help you determine when may be the right time to do the deed with your new date.

Three-Date Rule

First and foremost, it’s important to talk about the quite famous three-date rule that may sound confusing initially, especially if you don’t have much dating experience. What is it all about, you may be wondering? Shortly speaking, some people who date a lot tend to follow certain rules that help them establish boundaries and keep control over their love life.

The third-date rule says that you should always wait until the third date until you have sex with someone. But what if waiting doesn’t change anything, or you never get to that third date with the particular person? That’s where dating and relationship experts, such as Alexis Wolfe, founder of NYC Date Nite, say that putting such pressure on something that’s just a made-up number may not be the best decision.

Sure, a third date may be the right time to tell someone about your interest in using life size sex dolls, especially if the chemistry is there and you want to stay transparent, but in the end, basing your sex life on rules that have such unclear origins might not be the best idea. If anything, relationships should be based on mutual trust and honest communication, so it could be better to try to emphasize these two values before all else. Still, in the end, it’s all up to your and your sexual partner’s preferences.

How to Decide When to Have Sex?

All the information may still leave you wondering: is it about being honest about what you and your partner prefer? How should you decide whether having sex on a first date with a particular person is a wise decision?

Here are a couple of tips that may help you decide:

Make Sure Both of You Want It

Even if the first date is going great, the chemistry is definitely there, and everything seems to indicate that you two should have sex, you still need to ensure that both of you are on the same page. There’s no real need to talk about having a relationship yet — after all, you may go your separate ways once the romantic evening is over, but in this case, it’s crucial to start the general chat about what the two of you are after.

This way, you may find out that, for instance, the other person is interested in starting a long-term relationship, even though you’re still not ready to commit to something that serious. This knowledge will help you to decide whether having sex on this very first date is a good idea or if you want to get involved in a relationship with that particular person in the first place. There’s nothing wrong with wanting to date around and experiment, but you shouldn’t mislead your date.

Trust Your Gut

In some situations, listening to your gut may also turn out to be the right approach. Let’s say that the signs your date sends you are really obvious, and the atmosphere starts getting hot. You may decide to just go for it and initiate the sex, but not without expressing your feelings first. Remember that honesty is of the utmost importance, which means that, before doing the deed, you should say things like: I want it, but I also want a relationship. Is that what you’re up for?

Sex on the first date doesn’t always lead to a relationship, and if you don’t tell your partner what you’re looking for, at least one of you may end up getting hurt. Once you get the answer, it will help you decide if you should have sex. You may also learn that both of you will be better off as just friends or even the casual strangers you were before that date.

In Conclusion

As you can see, first-date sex doesn’t have to be as complex as some people and self-called relationship experts try to make it. Besides the fact that it’s always better to take relationship advice from experienced professionals, you also need to learn how to trust your own judgment and make your own dating rules instead of trying to rely on someone else’s experiences.

Additionally, it’s important that you always prioritize honesty and avoid misleading the people you date. Whether you’re looking for a relationship or not, it’s important to say it as soon as possible so that you both know what to expect. This way, no one will get hurt, and you could potentially be more satisfied with the way your love life plays out. Should you decide to have first-date sex, remember to stay safe, don’t forget that there’s nothing sexier than consent, and have all the fun you want.

A Guide to Buying Diamond Jewelry Online

Diamonds are undoubtedly exquisite, sparkling gemstones that make every occasion special and memorable. This explains why most jewelry enthusiasts prefer marking their special moments with diamond jewelry, especially diamond rings. Rings speckled with diamonds are excellent gifts. Whether you want to gift your loved one, buy it as an engagement ring, or treat yourself, nothing compares to a diamond’s satiety.

Regardless of where you prefer to buy diamond jewelry, expect to spend significant amounts of cash to get the best lab created diamonds. If you prefer shopping online, consider the following tips to avoid being duped.

1. Research the Jewelry Store

Unlike before, you can find nearly everything on the internet from the millions of online shops available. You can find online jewelers dealing with all types of jewelry with a simple search. While some stock everything, others specialize in specific accessories, such as engagement rings, vintage jewelry, wedding sets, and custom-made pieces.

If you are looking for a diamond engagement ring, you can easily narrow your search to stores that particularly deal with engagement and wedding rings. Most specialized online shops sell wedding sets with special discounts and promotions.

You should then compile a list of online jewelers with your preferred diamond ring. Evaluate these websites cautiously to ensure that they are reliable and trustworthy. You can ascertain this by checking for the security and business permits of the online store. For instance, the site’s URL should feature “HTTPS“, and the address should also have a lock symbol.

Identifying website security certifications mitigates online fraud cases, such as identity theft and exposure to malware and phishing programs. You should also read the store’s privacy policy to understand how they handle shared information.

2. Examine the Photos in Detail

The most difficult part of shopping for jewelry online is not seeing the products physically. However, this is a sacrifice you can afford to enjoy a wide selection, low prices, and better terms. Since you can’t view the diamond rings and necklaces physically, the best you can do is look through the HD photos uploaded by online jewelers.

While at it, you should research how diamond quality is evaluated. If you haven’t, learn about the 4C’s of diamond quality evaluation before examining the photos. Even though these details are listed in the jewelry report, this certificate only highlights the grade, and it doesn’t show the diamond’s actual size, clarity, and brilliance.

3. Read Website Reviews

The best way to avoid being duped with fake products is by reading customer reviews about the store. Most online shoppers write reviews or feedback after purchasing products from the online store. Satisfied customers often write positive comments about the store and recommend others to purchase from them. However, unsatisfied customers won’t hesitate to share their bad experiences and complaints.

Business reviews are excellent indicators of an online store’s legitimacy, accuracy level, and product quality. However, before many five-star ratings and positive recommendations sway you, evaluate the authenticity of these reviews. Malicious businesses often create fake profiles or pay unverified purchases to write bolstering reviews.

4. Check the Source

Despite being precious metals, diamonds have an intricate history. Diamond dealers were known to fund conflicts and wars, which led to the death of millions. Therefore, before buying any diamond studded jewelry, ensure it is legitimately sourced and harvested. Fortunately, the inception of lab-grown diamonds provides assurance. Even then, you should ask for manufacturer and supplier information from the jeweler. If the jeweler hasn’t listed this information, inquire from their customer support agents.

You should look for the jewel’s grading report and verify if it’s genuine. Diamonds often have independent grading reports provided by unbiased evaluators, such as GIA. The value of diamond is highly determined by its quality, which can only be confirmed by third-party assessments. You should then verify the GIA report on Report Check

5. Compare Prices

The online marketplace is flooded with legitimate and fake jewelers. Fortunately, you can easily differentiate these sellers primarily using their pricing. Lab-grown diamonds are 40% to 50% cheaper than earth-mined diamonds. You should have a base price estimate before searching online. Another great idea is to check out ShipTheDeal.com! They offer fantastic coupon codes as well as discounts

Endnote

Most people prefer shopping online to avoid moving between physical stores and asking the same questions repeatedly. By shopping online, you can compare options from various online jewelers from the comfort of your home. This saves time and effort, freeing you to focus on learning more about the diamond and other jewelry trends.

Diamond jewelry isn’t something you can always buy. Follow these tips to ensure that you find the best product.

SOMMERRO IN OSLO

Nordic Hotels & Resorts has announced today the grand opening of its newest luxury hotel, Sommerro, located in the heart of Frogner in Oslo’s West End. One of Europe’s most anticipated launches of 2022, the urban retreat is set within the former headquarters of Oslo Lysverker, the city’s original electrical company, and is energizing the neighborhood and its surroundings with a new sense of creative spirit that pays tribute to Norway’s cultural heritage. Providing a home away from home for both travelers and locals, the iconic 231-room Art Deco hotel is complete with 56 branded residences, seven restaurants and bars, meeting and event spaces with capacity for up to 150 people, a 100-seat gilded theater, a landmark wellness space with a fully-equipped gym, and the city’s first year-round rooftop pool, sauna, and terrace.

“Sommerro is more than a hotel. It is an iconic building housing years of history, located in one of Oslo’s most vibrant and exciting areas. We want everyone to feel at home at Sommerro, whether you are a guest or a local seeking a place to hang out with friends, work, or simply relax in beautiful surroundings,” said Petter A. Stordalen, Founder of Nordic Choice Hotels, now known as Strawberry. “We believe that Sommerro will take Oslo to the next level of hospitality, and I am really looking forward to opening the doors to this fantastic project, bringing the building back to life for more generations to come.”

Bespoke Architecture, Design, and Artwork

Sommerro pays homage to a fusion of neoclassical contemporary aesthetics with original historic elements that have been meticulously restored and developed by local firm LPO Architects in collaboration with New York- and London-based studio GrecoDeco. Sommerro was designed as a community in its own right which extends into all aspects of its design, with diverse areas that feel approachable and welcoming to all. The hotel’s thoughtfully designed social spaces and six varied guest room categories, from snug Loft rooms to lavish Junior and Heritage Suites, are embellished with opulent Art Deco details and lush textiles, including oak parquet flooring, custom-designed furnishings upholstered with 1930s Norwegian motifs, hand-knotted rugs, beds from innovative Swedish sleep brand Hilding Anders, and slick bathrooms with custom tiles.

Curated by internationally acclaimed museum director and art critic, Sune Nordgren, the hotel is adorned with an extensive art collection by emerging local artists. The contemporary collection is complimented with a host of original artworks from the 1930s iconic Norwegian artist Per Krohg, including a giant wall fresco in the main hall, a ceiling mural that nods to the building’s heritage highlighting life after the wonders of electricity, and a mosaic feature wall in the basement of the former public baths. Art enthusiasts can enjoy hosted show-rounds of Per Krohg’s collection by local museum curators and the hotel can also arrange private guided tours of Art Deco artwork in the nearby newly opened National Museum.

Curated Cultural Program

With respect to Frogner’s classic and creative neighborhood spirit, a vibrant community brimming with chic boutiques, antique stores, museums, and art galleries, Sommerro will be an open and inspiring house designed to revolutionize the city’s hospitality landscape where visitors and locals alike can gather together to experience a range of immersive programming and activities across its buzzing social spaces. Curated by resident jazz musician and composer, Maren Selvaag, the hotel’s dynamic pop-up music and cultural events inspired by the flourishing music scene of the 1930s will kick off in September with performances by British magician Jon Ensor appearing as The Stranger at Lysverker Scene, the hotel’s own 100-seat gilded theatre that takes its cues from the decadent glamour of old Hollywood and Europe’s grand opera houses. Other regular highlights will include performances from the Sommerro Soul Band and a series of Brunch & Film Classics, with iconic movies screened in Kinoen, a cinema inspired by Tancred Ibsen, the filmmaker who introduced Norway to its first feature film with sound in 1931.

Nordic Cuisine with a Twist

Set to become one of Oslo’s most coveted culinary destinations, Sommerro features seven restaurants and bars, including the city’s only rooftop restaurant, and outposts from local favorites Barramon, a Spanish tapas and wine bar, and Plah, one of the city’s most popular restaurants showcasing elevated cuisine by Norway’s “Best Thai Chef” Terje Ommundsen, which will also offer an exclusive chef’s table experience. Ekspedisjonshallen, an all-day dining spot located in the former hall where the public once paid their electricity bills, comes to life with regular musical performances and a lively cocktail bar on an original sunken floor that serves drinks inspired by the Roaring Twenties. Alongside this decadence, Sommerro will also lead the way with an alcohol-free mixology program, this wellness trend has been spearheaded by bar manager Louika Blouti who has created an innovative menu, named The Prohibitionists. Adjacent to Ekspedisjonshallen is To Søstre – an elegant home for afternoon teas served on decadent cake trolleys, and accompanied by regular classical concerts with a self-playing Steinway Grand Piano, one of the few in Norway. The tea has been designed by British executive head chef, Jonathan Howell and implemented by an award-winning pastry team, it will change according to the season with traditional savory and sweet treats that have a unique Sommerro twist. Further boosting Oslo’s world-class culinary scene, Tak Oslo is a Nordic-Japanese restaurant by award-winning Swedish chef Frida Ronge featuring hyper-local, seasonal dishes using sustainable Norwegian produce and seafood. As the only rooftop restaurant in the city, TAK Oslo will be the place to be seen.

Commitment to Sustainability

As Norway’s largest-ever preservation project, Sommerro upholds and enhances Nordic Hotels & Resorts’ commitment to eco-sustainability, focusing on traditional sustainable elements that prioritize the environment while also emphasizing mental health and career advancement internally along with support of locally owned businesses and community initiatives. This humanistic interest takes a holistic shape through the hotel’s ‘Sommerro Standards’, nine benchmarks that guide all day-to-day operations, partnerships, and hotel philosophies. The hotel has made a commitment to using quality green materials for products and services; sourcing sustainable seafood and local produce; investing in long-lasting relationships with some of Norway’s greatest and greenest businesses and creators, such as social entrepreneurship Sisters in Business that employs female immigrants who create textiles and repair broken items;  sustainable footwear brand New Movements to provide shoes for all its staff as part of the uniform; and Røros Tweed who produce high-quality wool products based on a centuries-old local crafts tradition. Sommerro will be powered on 100 percent renewable energy; provide bikes for guests to rent; offer EV parking with free charging, encourage suppliers to use zero emission transport; and ban all plastic water bottles within the hotel.

Sommerro has also implemented an 8-hour rule for employees to ensure work-life balance is always considered – 8 hours of work, 8 hours of fun, and 8 hours of sleep. The hotel prides itself on fostering a truly inclusive, collaborative, and enjoyable home for both employees and visitors alike.

Urban Wellness Retreat

Opening in November, Vestkantbadet, one of Norway’s last remaining public baths from 1932, has been restored to its former glory and reimagined as an 15,000-square-foot subterranean urban wellness retreat, the largest of any city hotel across the Nordic countries. Designed as a haven for health and mindfulness, Vestkantbadet, adorned with a glorious Per Krohg mosaic wall, will feature a series of treatment rooms, original restored Roman baths, infrared sauna, gym, and cold plunge pool offering a traditional Nordic thermotherapy experience. Going beyond the conventional, Sommerro is the first hotel in the Nordics to offer specialist medical aesthetic treatments, along with a range of additional innovative therapies including laser therapy, Wim Hof-style cold water breathing technique sessions, nutritionist workshops, two-day electric sauna boat retreats on the fjord in partnership with KOK, masterclasses with a sleep expert, and complimentary Why We Sleep books in the guestrooms.

Introducing Villa Inkognito

As the second stage in this exciting launch, Sommerro will open Villa Inkognito in March 2023. Housed in a former private residence that dates back to 1870, this 11-suite retreat is adjacent to the hotel with a private entrance and will offer the option to be rented in its entirety. The villa will boast several opulent living rooms, an open kitchen, an intimate bar, a fitness room in the basement and a lovely outdoor area. Its interior design will feature a mix of magnificent antiques, original artwork, decorative details and classic Scandinavian furnishings. Guests can enjoy the privacy of their own villa with full access to all of the amenities and services offered at Sommerro. Villa Inkognito bookings are now open.
