How to Save Money on Road Trips as Gas Prices Soar

Summer is right around the corner, which means one thing: road trips! But with gas prices skyrocketing, how can you save money on your road trip? Maybe you shopped around for the best deal on your car and secured the best auto loan rates to save money, but now gas prices are spiking and the cost of living continues to rise. If you’re considering a road trip this summer, there are still ways to save to ensure that your trip doesn’t break the bank.

Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. In this blog post, we will discuss a variety of ways that you can save money while traveling. Whether you’re taking a cross-country road trip or just driving to the beach, these tips will help you keep more money in your pocket. So read on and start planning your perfect summer road trip!

Make sure your car is in good condition before you hit the road – tune-ups, oil changes, and tire rotations can help you save on gas

Anyone who has ever been on a road trip knows that it can be a great way to see the country and spend time with family or friends. However, they can also be quite expensive, especially if your car isn’t in good condition. Tune-ups, oil changes, and tire rotations can help you save on gas, and making sure your car is in good condition before you hit the road will help you avoid costly breakdowns.

Planning ahead is key – start by mapping out your route and figuring out where you can save on gas

If you’re planning a road trip, there are a few things you can do to save money on gas. First, map out your route and look for ways to minimize driving. If you can take highways instead of back roads, for example, you’ll use less gas. Second, try to avoid rush hour traffic whenever possible. Not only will this help you save gas, but it will also make your trip more enjoyable. Third, plan your stops ahead of time and look for gas stations that offer discounts. Finally, make sure your car is in good shape before you hit the road. This includes checking your tires and making sure your engine is running efficiently.

You can also drive a car with better fuel efficiency and that will help you save money on gas. If you are also in the market for a new car, there are ways that you can save money when buying a car. Otherwise, you could consider renting a car for your trip. Calculating the cost of gas in a fuel guzzler with the cost of renting a fuel-efficient car or EV would help you to make that decision.

Find hotels and restaurants that offer discounts for travelers

If you’re planning a road trip, you’ll want to find ways to save money on hotels and restaurants. Luckily, there are plenty of discounts available for travelers. Many hotel chains offer discounts for AAA members, seniors, and military personnel. You can also often find special rates by booking directly through the hotel’s website or calling the hotel to ask about discounts. When it comes to restaurants, look for eateries that offer daily specials or happy hour deals. You can also ask about group discounts if you’re traveling with a large group. With a little advance planning, you can easily find ways to save money on your road trip.

Bring your own food and drinks, rather than buying them on the road

A road trip can be a great way to see the country and spend time with family or friends. However, it can also be a budget buster if you’re not careful. One of the main ways to save money on a road trip is to bring your own food and drinks, rather than buying them on the road. Not only will this save you money, but it will also help you to eat healthier and have more control over your diet. If you’re worried about space, consider packing non-perishable items that can easily be stored in your trunk or back seat. And don’t forget the cooler! By bringing your own food and drinks, you’ll be able to enjoy your road trip without breaking the bank.

If possible, try to avoid traveling during peak times (summer weekends, for example)

A road trip can be a great way to see the country and spend time with family or friends. However, it can also be a significant expense. To save money on a road trip, it is best to avoid traveling during peak times. Summer weekends are typically the busiest times on the roads, which means that hotels and other accommodations will be more expensive. Additionally, gas prices tend to be higher during these times as well.

If possible, try to plan your road trip for weekdays or during off-peak months. This will help you save money on travel costs and allow you to enjoy a less crowded trip.

PARAVI – GOLDEN CHILD

Singer/songwriter Paravi is excited to officially release her first original song “Golden Child” via RCA Records. The sonically lush pop production explores the raw emotions of unlearning perfectionism. Propelled by Paravi’s melodic vocals, “Golden Child” serves as a reminder that it’s okay to not be perfect, to make mistakes, and to do what makes you happy. Listen HERE.

Speaking on “Golden Child” Paravi says, “This is a song I wrote to give myself permission to fuck up. As a child of immigrants and a young Indian girl entering the music industry, I’m no stranger to the self-placed pressure of perfectionism and the strain of living up to the “model minority” idea, a concept my parents never forced upon me, but something I picked up from my American-ized Indian experience. It wasn’t until I went to college that I took a leap of faith into imperfection by allowing myself to make mistakes. Unlearning the weight of this pressure I had put on myself for so long is exactly what “Golden Child” is at its core. Instead of worrying about what others think, I realized that being authentic and encouraging myself to live life a little further off the edge is what makes me happy.”

Deemed a “…musical force to be reckoned with” by NYLON, Paravi continues to carefully craft a style of her own, alternating between moments of vivid vulnerability and vocal vitality above organically warm production. As a newly signed artist with RCA Records, Paravi is looking forward to sharing more original music this summer/fall.

Additionally, Paravi was recently featured on the official motion picture soundtrack for Baz Luhrmann’s blockbuster film ELVIS for her rendition of the iconic “Suspicious Minds”. Check it out HERE

Matthew Morgan is an cannabis expert and entrepreneur whom is interviewed by Vaughn Lowery of 360 MAGAZINE

Matthew Morgan

Listen to Vaughn’s full chat with Matthew Morgan on the 360 MAG podcast HERE.

College dropout and emerging enterpriser Matthew Morgan has effortlessly blended the cannabis industry and the metaverse with the fabrication of Cannaverse Technologies. As a trailblazer in his field, Matthew’s dedication to expanding the cannabis market was simply a magnanimous achievement. In recent times, 360 Magazine has had an opportunity to discuss his vocation and upcoming initiatives.

In his early twenties, Matthew worked as a commercial real estate agent. In 2008, after the economic collapse in the United States, he underwent a financial shock, quickly realizing that he would have to look for a new job. In search of new employment, Matthew noted the growth of medicinal cannabinoids. He soon noticed that the industry was on its way and jumped at the chance to dive into the business.

While the decision to switch hustles was a tough one, Matthew persevered and finally found victory. From the ground up, he constructed various verticals: Bloom Dispensaries, Tryke companies, Reef Dispensaries, Ignite Cannabis Co and Green Axis Capital.

It continued throughout 2020, when the pandemic hit. Quarantined, he was approached in August 2020 for a conference on cannabis. At first, Matthew became confused. After registering, he could take part in such an event, as it was virtual.

Matthew resolved to participate in the conference, despite his parents’ reluctance and found the gold by doing so. He was therefore catapulted to an intersection between Marijuana and Web3. When it reached higher altitudes and epiphany — a virtual immersive reality clinic.

More recently, he plans to pursue his instructions by acquiring as much capital as possible to help others in need. Finally, another tycoon interested in restructuring an upside down dilapidated society with the proper use of technology.

In short, Morgan understands that only a community-based collective will eradicate the marginalization of poor, underprivileged and abandoned pets.

All in all, Matt admits that this will not happen overnight, but at least his feet are firmly anchored. In the end, NASA aimed at the stars and landed on the moon.

Poster of Lane 8 performance via Goldenvoice for use by 360 Magazine

LANE 8’S PERFORMANCE IN LA

On July 14, 2022, Lane 8 with support from CloZee announces his Los Angeles performance (18 +) implementing Lane 8’s This Never Happened concept. The performance will be on Saturday, November 5, 2022, located in LA State Historic Park.

Fans can register to receive first access to presale tickets beginning Thursday, July 14, 2022, at 10 am PT at lane8la.com. Presale begins Thursday, July 21, 2022, at 10 am PT. Tickets go on sale to the general public Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10 am PT.

About Lane 8:

Denver-based DJ and producer Daniel Goldstein aka Lane 8 has become the leading light in today’s melodic house scene with multiple sell out shows at iconic venues such as Red Rocks and Brooklyn Mirage under his belt.

His fourth album, and third on his own This Never Happened imprint, ‘Reviver‘ was released in January of this year. As with every Lane 8 album, ‘Reviver‘ was blessed with the lyrical creativity of several songwriters. Daniel was joined for the third successive album by Channy Leaneagh from cult indie act POLIÇA who added her distinctive tones to the grooving prog opener ‘Survive’, while Arctic Lake, who signed with Astralwerks, was featured on ‘Ill Wait’ and the wistful ‘What Have You Done for Me. The voice behind Lane 8′s original breakout vocal ‘Diamonds’ back in 2014, Solomon Grey made a welcome return with a stirring falsetto turn on another melodic bomb in ‘Automatic’. Adding a new flavor to the project, Emmit Fenn added his dusty tones to the blissful ‘Red Lights’.

Teeming with emotion, ‘Reviver‘ is a return to the dancefloor that manages to wrap up a lifetime of musical influences into its expansive vision for modern festival stages -80s synth-pop, electronica, indie, European techno, classic pop songwriting, post-EDM and beyond.

The album will be backed up with a multi date North America tour where once again he will be implementing his now infamous This Never Happened concept where he encourages fans to not record or take photos, to create a more positive and engaging atmosphere for all attendees.

WILL HOGE – JOHN PRINE’S CADILLAC

GRAMMY Award-nominated Nashville rock ‘n’ roller Will Hoge has shared the official music video for his triumphant single, “John Prine’s Cadillac,” on YouTube.

A celebratory nod to Hoge‘s songwriting hero ringing out with power chords and cymbal crashes, “John Prine’s Cadillac” heralds the veteran singer-songwriter’s eagerly awaited 12th studio album, WINGS ON MY SHOES, arriving Friday, August 26 on CD, cassette, and all digital formats; a standard vinyl edition follows soon after. Pre-orders are available now HERE.

PRE-ORDER WINGS ON MY SHOES

Hoge will mark the arrival of WINGS ON MY SHOES with a typically busy live schedule, including headline dates and festival appearances getting underway tomorrow, July 15, at Dayton, OH’s Levitt Pavilion and then traveling into the summer. For more ticket information, please visit www.willhoge.com/shows.

WINGS ON MY SHOES marks yet another milestone on Will Hoge‘s two-decade-plus musical journey, an already remarkable career that has seen him logging countless miles on the road and crafting an ongoing body of work that has earned acclaim from media outlets spanning Rolling Stone and American Songwriter to NPR and Forbes, a GRAMMY Award nomination for “Best Country Song” (honoring the Eli Young Band’s chart-topping cover of his “Even If It Breaks Your Heart”), and an intensely loyal worldwide fan following.

Produced by Hoge during a week’s worth of live performances at Nashville’s Sound Emporium Studios, WINGS ON MY SHOES was preceded earlier this year by the powerful album-closing “Whose God Is This?,” available for streaming and download HERE. The album – which sees Hoge joined by his longtime backing combo, guitarist Thom Donovan, drummer Allen Jones, and bassist Christopher Griffiths, with guest multi-instrumentalist Joshua Grange contributing pedal steel and organ – features few overdubs and zero studio trickery, wearing its rough edges with pride to stand tall as a document of a hardscrabble band at work, sweating and stomping its way toward rock ‘n’ roll redemption.

Written largely during the pandemic era, WINGS ON MY SHOES is, at its core, a testament to Hoge‘s renowned gifts as a songwriter, highlighting the diverse perspectives of an expert craftsman whose songs turn Southern storytelling into universal sentiment. From the jubilant jangle of “It’s Just You” and the furious “All I Can Take” – the latter an inspired blast of bar band bombast recorded in a single take – to the stunning, string-laced “The Last One To Go” and the desperate narrative drive of “Dead Man’s Hand,” Hoge distills American roots music to its essential ingredients, carrying the torch for an enduring blue collar sound rooted in ringing guitars, anthemic songcraft, and steadfast lyrical integrity.

I always want to embrace change,Hoge says, “to accept new things artistically, but at the end of the day, I can try to run from this idea that I love good, guitar-based rock ‘n’ roll music or I can wear that badge of honor. I’m in the -wearing the badge of honor- phase now.

DURAN DURAN – ALL OF YOU

Having co-produced Duran Duran’s acclaimed fifteenth studio album, ‘FUTURE PAST’, Erol Alkan returns to deliver a very special Extended Rework. Paying tribute to the band’s pioneering ‘Night Version’ remixes that tipped their earliest material towards the dance floor, this grandiose reimagining equally recalls Alkan’s beloved reworks from over the years.

Recorded with founding members Simon Le BonNick RhodesJohn Taylor, and Roger Taylor, ‘ALL OF YOU’ also features lead guitar from Graham Coxon and backing vocals by Barli. Blessed with the raw material, Alkan distills each element into a glorious disco odyssey totaling nearly ten minutes, an epic but sensual dance floor trip that already ranks amongst his finest work.

Phantasy is proud to release ALL OF YOU’ (EROL ALKAN EXTENDED REWORK) (backed with an instrumental version) on a limited run of 12” vinyl, with an exclusive red vinyl edition of only 300, available only at Rough Trade stores.

Pre-order ‘ALL OF YOU (EROL ALKAN EXTENDED REWORK)’ on 12” vinyl HERE.

Originally debuted by Erol Alkan in Ibiza at the band’s three night ‘Duran Duran: Touch The Sunrise’ immersive weekend experience that lifted the curtain on the island’s summer season, the extended rework is a hypnotic, expansive ode to the FUTURE PAST album highlight. Duran Duran‘s instantly recognizable sound is complemented with new accents and flourishes – John Taylor‘s head-nodding bass line entwines with Graham Coxon‘s guitar lead, both shot through with instant hooks and punctuated by Nick Rhodes’ cinematic keys.

The extended rework arrives as Duran Duran look ahead to their long-awaited North American headlining tour this summer, celebrating the band’s spectacular four-decade career and in continued support of their critically acclaimed 15th studio album, FUTURE PAST.

Starting August 19, the 14-date tour will see the multi-platinum, award-winning legends play iconic venues such as Madison Square Garden in New York City, the Wynn Las Vegas, and The Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles, amongst others. Tickets for the band’s North American tour are on sale now. With a career that has seen more than 100 million record sales worldwide, 21 UK Top 20 tunes and 18 American hit singles, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction truly cements the multi-GRAMMY, BRIT Award and Ivor Novello winners as one of the most successful and influential bands of all time.

Duran Duran’s current album, ‘FUTURE PAST’ is available digitally as well as in a variety of physical formats: standard CD, cassette, a limited edition deluxe hardback book CD featuring three additional tracks, and colored vinyl here.  It is also available in immersive Sony 360 Reality Audio on Amazon Music HD, TIDAL HiFi, and Deezer HiFi.

Enlisting the help of some of the most exciting names of the last 50 years, with ‘FUTURE PAST,’ Duran Duran have delivered another incredible genre-spanning piece of work that once again sets them apart from the pack. Working alongside DJ / producer Erol Alkan and pioneering Italian composer / producer Giorgio Moroder, who added his magic to create two instant future classics (‘BEAUTIFUL LIES,’ ‘TONIGHT UNITED’), as well as some of the most unexpected and inspiring names in pop – including Swedish hitmaker, Tove Lo on ‘GIVE IT ALL UP,’ ‘Queen of Drill’ Ivorian Doll on ‘HAMMERHEAD’ and Japan’s CHAI on ‘MORE JOY!’.  In addition, Blur’s Graham Coxon co-wrote and lends his guitar to several tracks on the record and David Bowie’s former pianist Mike Garson adds an exquisite sonic layer to album closer ‘FALLING’. The record, which was recorded across studios in London and LA over lockdown, also features long-time collaborator Mark Ronson who co-wrote and played on ‘WING,’ and was mixed by Mark ‘Spike’ Stent.

20-year-old rising star from Washington Heights, Stunna Gambino, announces the release of his debut album Vultures Don’t Kry via RCA Records. The announcement arrives alongside a new single and accompanying music video, “Warzone” featuring A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. Produced by AndyR, Stunna’s rhymes are reflective and cathartic. The album will include previously released singles “Demons” and “Man Down.”

About Stunna Gambino:

Stunna Gambino’s made a career out of speaking up. Merging expressive vocals with unfiltered honesty, the 20-year-old rapper creates gripping trench tales of triumph and heartbreak to explore his emotions, and in the process, he’s giving others the courage to raise their voice, too. Raised on the sounds of Lil Wayne, Alicia Keys, Green Day, Mariah Carey, and more, Gambino wrote his first rhymes at around the age of 9. By age 12, he began saving money to hit up a recording studio in Harlem and record his first solo tracks. When he was 14, the  songs he uploaded to SoundCloud regularly eclipsed 80,000 streams. In 2021, after releasing his glittering Underrated project in 2019, he continued building his buzz when he tapped in with The Kid Laroi and Polo G for “Not Sober,” a melodic rumination on escaping pain through self-medication. With spurts of emotional transparency and slurred crooning, the track earned over 105 million Spotify streams, making it his biggest appearance yet. Riding the momentum of Vultures Don’t Cry, Gambino wants to collect platinum plaques while diving into the worlds of art and acting. From there, who knows? “There’s so much shit I wanna do, and I got one foot in the door right now,” he reveals. “This isn’t even the beginning.”

DYLAN Shares New Single "Girl Of Your Dreams" via U Music Group for use by 360 MAGAZINE

DYLAN – DREAMS

Today, DYLAN shares her anticipated new single ‘Girl Of Your Dreams’, her first release for Island Records. As premiered on Jack Saunders’ BBC Radio 1 ‘Future Artists’ show in the Power Play slot, the track arrives alongside a new video, co-directed by Dylan and Carla Dauden.

Listen to ‘Girl Of Your Dreams’

Watch the video for ‘Girl Of Your Dreams’

‘Girl Of Your Dreams’ is a headrush of spiky energy that sits somewhere between pop perfection and a classic stadium rocker. The track is defined by a reckless sense of momentum, seamlessly merging alt-rock and pop sensibilities to create a sound that is unmistakably Dylan. Honed into its current form by months on the road, it is the product of a popstar who truly understands the power of live performance.

“Girl of Your Dreams is very simple and straight to the point.” notes Dylan. “The day I wrote it, I was feeling a lot of frustration towards someone who sadly had absolutely no interest in me. Ultimately, they hadn’t done anything wrong, so instead of writing a “screw you” song, I wrote a “want me!” song.

Fresh off of a UK stadium tour in support of Ed Sheeran, which included five sold out shows at London’s Wembley Stadium – Dylan might only be at the beginning of her journey as one of the UK’s most exciting new pop talents, but she’s had her sights set on big things since her childhood.

Raised on a diet of classic rock and big riffs, she spent her early years atop her kitchen table, plywood guitar in hand. “I would stand there and shout, ‘hello Wembley!’ – that’s how I started a gig with my band when I was 11 too.”, she recalls.

The 22-year-old – whose real name is Tash Woods – might be destined for pop glory, but the influence of more alternative sounds colours her tongue-in-cheek characterisation of herself as “a wannabe rock star in a pop star’s body”. Since 2019, she’s been on a journey to find her own voice, moving through more electronic-focused, synth-pop songs (‘Good Enough’) and mournful piano ballads (‘IKWYDLN’).

After two EPs, 2021 brought three singles in ‘Nineteen’, ‘You’re Not Harry Styles’ and ‘No Romeo’  that started to shape the real Dylan sound – big pop hooks driven by crunchy guitars, candid dissections of her life and loves into incisive, memorable lyrics.

That candidness is part of what has already scored her praise from the likes of Notion, MTV, Vogue Italia, The Line Of Best Fit and BBC Introducing; UK support slots with Yungblud, Bastille, Ed Sheeran and an EU run with Tate McRae; inspiring an incredibly loyal and passionate fanbase to form around her.

As she looks toward a summer of festival performances, a sold out UK headline tour and a steady stream of impeccable pop anthems, Dylan looks destined to continue hooking people into her world, rapidly expanding that fanbase in a big way. As it does so, she’s keeping her ambitions fittingly bold. “I want to be respected as a songwriter – for me it really is just about the music,” she explains. “And I want to headline Wembley – that’s everything I’ve had my sights on.”
