TAKEO SPIKES

Fifteen-year NFL veteran and Auburn Tiger great Takeo Spikes has signed a deal to join SEC Network as a college football studio analyst. Spikes will be a mainstay of the network’s SEC Now and SEC Football Final programs throughout the fall, and the two-time Pro Bowler kicks off his SEC Network tenure as part of SEC Kickoff Presented by Regions Bank, July 18-21.

“Back when SEC Network launched in 2014, I was watching from afar and over the past few years, I knew I wanted to be part of that team,” Spikes said. “I played against and with so many of my fellow analysts and I feel like this is where I belong. I’m ready to get started. I want viewers to really understand my perspective of the game I love, and they can expect me to be bold, engaging and dramatic.”

Spikes was a standout linebacker at Auburn and the 1997 SEC Championship Game MVP. He spent 15 seasons in the NFL, including stints with the Buffalo Bills, the Philadelphia Eagles, the San Francisco 49ers, and the San Diego Chargers. He was the 13th overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft, starting his career with the Cincinnati Bengals. Spikes was a 2003 and 2004 Pro Bowler and First Team All-Pro with the Bills in 2004.

“We’ve had our eye on Takeo for a long time,” said Tom McCollum, ESPN vice president, production. “He brings an energy and expertise that fits well with our crew and his passion for the SEC runs deep. He will be a great addition to our studio on Fridays and Saturdays.”

Spikes is the author of Takeo Spikes Presents: Behind the Mask, which has expanded to a podcast series. The show provides post-game analysis each week throughout the NFL season that features pro athletes and celebrities discussing various topics from relationships to untold personal stories. Spikes attended SEC Media Days as a student-athlete, and the SEC legend is looking forward to experiencing the event in a different way.

“You go from when I was a player and fast forward to now, you see SEC Network and the magnitude of what they bring from a media standpoint,” Spikes noted. “The visibility programs get from being on and part of the network is unmatched.”

The Sandersville, Ga. native was a leader on the field and off during his time in the NFL, serving as team captain 13 out of his 15 seasons and registering 70 or more tackles in 14 of 15 seasons. Recently named as an inductee into the Georgia High School Football Hall of Fame, Spikes was inducted into the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame in 2017.

Maisie Peters – CATE’S BROTHER

British pop singer-songwriter Maisie Peters shares “Cate’s Brother (Breland’s Version),” a rework of her viral track featuring boundary-pushing singer-songwriter Breland, available now on all streaming platforms.

Last month Maisie took the stage at CBS‘s Late Late Show with James Corden for an electrifying performance of her viral single “Cate‘s Brother.” The episode was part of Corden’s special run of shows from London and landed in the midst of a 5 night stand at London’s Wembley Stadium supporting Ed Sheeran‘s “+–=÷x Tour.” Watch the performance HERE.

Recently announced, Maisie‘s North American headline tour dubbed ‘i’m telling the whole of america tour’ is selling fast. The 5-date run kicks off on November 4th with a sold-out show at Hammerstein Ballroom in New York and makes stops in Toronto (SOLD OUT), Chicago (VENUE UPGRADED), and San Francisco (SOLD OUT) before wrapping at The Wiltern in Los Angles on November 14th. For tickets and more information on Maisie’s upcoming North American tour please visit HERE.

Last month, Maisie unveiled “Cate’s Brother (Matt’s Version),” a stripped-back version of her viral song featuring British singer-songwriter Matt Maltese. No stranger to a TikTok hit – his own, ‘As The World Caves In’, exploded on the platform during lockdown – Matt joined Maisie to expand the ‘Cate’s Brother’ universe, and shared his response to the original story.

Released in May, the original version of “Cate’s Brother” arrived to critical acclaim and has already cracked 8.7M million streams. Based on a true story, Maisie initially teased the track live from a studio session in February and with an overwhelming response from her fanbase, continued working on the song in real time, sharing everything from Cate’s first listen reaction to debut performances. Upon release, Billboard praised the track as “fantastic” adding “the storytelling beneath the wiry pop-rock production is top-notch” while People declared Maisie as “pop’s next big thing.” Consequence of Sound described the track as “vibrant, playful and fun” and hailed, “If there was ever any doubt that Peters can oscillate between more delicate, introspective tracks over to crowd-ready bops like this, let ‘Cate’s Brother’ be the end of the conversation.”

Before amassing over half a billion global streams, Maisie spent time honing her craft in sessions across London, LA and Nashville, creating songs for her 2021 debut album ‘You Signed Up For This’ alongside the likes of Ed Sheeran, Steve Mac, Fred again.., Johnny McDaid, Miranda Cooper, and producers Joe Rubel (Tom Grennan, Benjamin Francis Leftwich), Afterhrs (Niall Horan, GRACEY), Rob Milton (Easy Life, Holly Humberstone) and Brad Ellis (Jorja Smith, Little Mix). With an innate gift for storytelling, crafting relatable, diary-entry songs, ‘You Signed Up For This‘ is both Maisie’s coming of age story and a love letter to girlhood; penned with the wit, charm and quiet confidence that has seen her ascend from busking on the streets of Brighton to signing with Ed Sheeran‘s Gingerbread Man Records and selling out her entire 2022 North American ‘You Signed Up For This‘ tour.

Returning home after her sold-out 19-date You Signed Up For This tour, which included standout shows at The El Rey and New York’s Webster Hall, Maisie is playing to a further 2.5 million+ people this summer as support on Ed Sheeran‘s ‘+–=÷x Tour’ in Europe and working on the follow up to her acclaimed debut album ‘You Signed Up For This.’

Maggie Rogers Shares New Album "Horses" via Capitol Records for use by 360 MAGAZINE

MAGGIE ROGERS – HORSES

After yesterday’s release of Horses from her forthcoming album, Surrender, Maggie Rogers returns today with the official video for the track. The GRAMMY Award-nominated producer/songwriter/performer shot the simple yet powerful visual in a field in upstate New York, accompanying herself on acoustic guitar and co-directing with Michael Scanlon. Kelly Jeffries, another frequent visual collaborator of Rogers, served as cinematographer. View Horses HERE. Download / stream the song HERE.

Rogers recalls, “We laughed a lot. Drank wine. Talked about UFOs and marveled as the crescent moon set along the fields. We had a loose plan, but mostly trusted our instincts and our collective taste. And we had a blast. The way making art should be (in my philosophy). Not about the result, but about the process.”

Set for release on July 29 via Capitol Records, Surrender is the follow-up to 2019 Heard It in a Past Life, which entered Billboard Top Album Sales chart at No. 1, landed her a nomination for Best New Artist, and went on to amass over one billion combined global streams. Rogers will launch Surrender with a performance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, July 26.

Horses came in a burst of creative energy while she was recording at Peter Gabriel’s studio in the U.K.

Rogers says, There been only a few, rare times in my life when two songs have appeared in the same day. And only one time when three songs came at once. This was the case with Horses. I was at Real World Studios with my dearest collaborator, Kid Harpoon. On day one, I sat down at the piano and he sat down at the drums and Overdrive came pouring out. I knew immediately it would be the opening track of the record. We started day two with That’s Where I Am, caught I’ve Got A Friend after lunch, and came back for Horses after dinner and a glass or two of wine. Tom started playing guitar and immediately I started writing. I looked up to ask him what he thought and he simply said, keep going. I wondered if maybe it was time to call it a night and he simply said, keep going. When I finished the words, I suggested we record in the morning and he said, give it one take. That take is Horses. It’s a song about letting go. About wanting to feel free in a time where I felt an overwhelming amount of numbness. Sometimes I’m singing to a loved one, sometimes a friend. Sometimes I think I’m singing to myself. And I love that I can’t always tell the difference.

The song follows Want Want, which The New York Times praised for its intensity and crunchy guitar tones, going on to note, this tale of long-sublimated desire finally finds an explosive expression in its chorus: And I want you. V Magazine said, Want Want is a booming track, backed by a groovy drumline and Roger’s own powerful vocals.

Fans who pre-order the digital edition of Surrender will instantly receive Horses, Want Want, and That’s Where I Am, which SPIN chose as #1 on their list of the 30 Best Songs of 2022 (So Far). View the official video for That’s Where I Am, which features cameos by David Byrne, Quil Lemons, and Hamilton Leithauser, HERE.

After multiple sold-out headline tours and major festival performances in support of Heard It in a Past Life, Rogers retreated to the coast of Maine in early 2020 and completely cut herself off from the noise of the outside world. For months on end, she spent most of her time reading and resting and walking along the jagged cliffs, compelled by the fierce and unforgiving nature of the North Atlantic Ocean. Channeling the ocean’s unruly energy, she soon arrived at the controlled chaos and ecstatic physicality that would come to define Surrender. Over the course of 12 unfettered yet exactingly crafted tracks, Rogers fully captures the frenetic intensity of the last two years of her life, bringing her bracing honesty to stories of anger and peace and self-salvation, transcendence through sex and freedom through letting go.

SERGI – EL VESTIDO

Peruvian singer and songwriter, Sergi, is premiering his latest single El Vestido under Warner Music Latina. “El Vestido” and its official music video are now available on all digital platforms.

El Vestido was co-written by VibarcoSensei and Sergi himself while it was produced by Colombian producer, Maki Vaez. Like his previous singles, “El Vestido” talks about a heartbreak as a reminder of someone who is still missing their ex-partner. Despite the changes he has had in his style, Sergi, still has the essence of the composition, using various images and very descriptive lyrics to describe love and the different situations one lives in love.

“I think the key is to compose songs that people can relate to. To be the voice of the people during their happy days, as well as in the sad ones”, commented Sergi

The music video was filmed in Lima, Peru and directed by Renzo Bernasconi, known in the audiovisual world as “El Chato Re”. In the video we see Sergi throughout different scenes thinking about that person whom he still continues to miss and continues bringing back memories to his head even when he is enjoying the party in Ibiza as mentioned in the song. The video is a comedy, but with hints of drama representing both the singer’s personality and his sense of humor.
