Tick Test – Reduce Lyme Infection

Between global warming and the post-pandemic push to move to the suburbs, there has been a huge uptick in the number of tick-borne illnesses. Lyme, recently dubbed the fastest growing disease in the world, is a major concern primarily in the Northeast but there are a host of other tick-borne illnesses including 15 others such as Borrelia, Powassan, and Alpha-gal Syndrome. Bottom line: reduce the chance of infection by removing ticks fast and safely. Get detailed information, illustrations, and videos about how to check yourself, your family, and your pets for ticks, and how to remove them correctly, at TickEase.com.

1.       Ticks only bite in the summer—False

Ticks are active year-round and found in all 50 states. Nymphal ticks are harder to see and are out in the spring and early summer.  Cold weather does not kill them. They are mostly dormant but have been seen in February thanks to global warming.

2.       Ticks only live in wooded areas, not the beach—False

Ticks also hide in bushes, ground cover, and beach grass.

3.       You must live near deer to find deer ticks—False

Deer are not the only deer hosts. They feed on mice, birds, chipmunks, raccoons, squirrels, birds, and even reptiles. Ticks have been around for millions of years and have infected many food sources.

4.       Ticks jump from trees or fly—False

No, ticks do not jump or fly but they do climb trees and hide in the bark. They usually stay closer to the ground waiting for prey, such as you or your pet.

5.       You can feel a tick bite you—False

Untrue as ticks secrete a numbing agent before they bite. Fewer than 50 percent of Lyme patients recall being bitten.

6.       Ticks can smell blood—False

Ticks can detect carbon dioxide, ammonia in sweat, and heat from potential hosts. Your breath is their favorite scent. No amount of insect repellent can detect you from 50 feet or more away.

7.       Ticks must remain attached to you for 24-36 hours to transmit a disease—False

The length of time a tick stays attached depends on the tick species, tick life stage, and host response to the bite. The bottom line: You want to get rid of a tick as quickly as possible. An infected tick can transmit the deadly Powassan virus in a matter of minutes.

8.       Best way to remove a tick is with a match—False

This is potentially dangerous and painful. Agitating the tick can put you at a higher risk of exposure.  Other popular myths about removing ticks by smothering it with oil, butter, nail polish, nail polish remover, dish detergent, Vaseline, alcohol, or aftershave all pose the same risk as burning.

9.       A tick head borrowed under your skin can transmit disease after you remove the body—False

Ticks don’t have heads. They have barbed mouth parts that can remain in the skin if the entire tick is not removed. These can cause skin inflammation or local infection.

10.   Dispose of an embedded tick by flushing it down the toilet—False

There are several reasons not to flush it. It is best to save the tick and so it can tested if needed, and many states have free testing services.  It’s helpful to know what type of tick bit you and what type of pathogens or parasites it is carrying.

11.   If you get Lyme from a tick, a bullseye rash will appear—False

Less than 50% of Lyme disease patients ever find a bullseye rash or any rash at all. Rashes can present in many different ways. Some are red and some are pink. Some are big and blotchy or spotted.

12.   If your blood test is negative, you have not been infected—False

There’s still no reliable blood test for tick-borne diseases. That’s why it’s so important to be vigilant about checking for ticks and removing them properly if you find one.

MIRACLEMAN: THE SILVER AGE

The wait is over! Just in time for the 40th anniversary of Miracleman’s modern era, Marvel Comics is thrilled to announce that Neil Gaiman and Mark Buckingham’s groundbreaking MIRACLEMAN: THE SILVER AGE SAGA will return this October! The two visionary comic talents will complete their unfinished MIRACLEMAN storyline “The Silver Age,” including remastered editions of the first two published issues, complete with new artwork and bonus material. The series will follow the previously announced MIRACLEMAN BY GAIMAN & BUCKINGHAM BOOK 1: THE GOLDEN AGE TPB, the new collection containing Gaiman and Buckingham’s first MIRACLEMAN series. After 30 years, fans will finally see the full incredible story of Young Miracleman with more to come!

Young Miracleman — the lost member of the Miracleman Family — is back! His last memories were of a 1963 world of joy and innocence. Now, he’s been thrust into the 21st century, where his best friends have become gods and monsters. Where can a hero from a simpler time call home in this brave new world?

“We’re back! And after thirty years away it is both thrilling and terrifying,” Buckingham said. “Neil and I have had these stories in our heads since 1989 so it is amazing to finally be on the verge of sharing them with our readers.

“I have pushed myself to my limit to craft something special for these issues. Cinematic in approach, clean and elegant, drawing on the best of my own style but also paying homage to the exceptional talents of all who came before us, whose unique visions have shaped this ground-breaking series over forty years, and the 1950’s Marvelman foundations on which it was built.”

Meghan Trainor – Takin’

She’s back! GRAMMY® Award-winning, global superstar Meghan Trainor has announced her anxiously awaited fourth full-length album, Takin’ It Back, arriving October 21st, 2022 via Epic Records. Pre-order/pre-save HERE.

This time around, she made a conscious decision to hark back to the signature sound she introduced on her 2015 full-length debut, TITLE, and bring it forward to today.

About the album, Meghan said, “I tried to do the doo-wop feel I had at the beginning of my career, but the 2022 version of it. This is from the new Meghan who is a wife and mom with a baby. This is from me right now. I decided to give the people what they want, but with my spices added to it. I wanted to make my Title 2.0.

To bring the record to life, she worked closely alongside a “core squad” of Gian StoneFederico VindverSean Douglas, and little brother Justin Trainor out of her own home studio. Musically, she integrates doo-wop and classic harmonies into one anthem after another taking you through her journey into marriage, motherhood, and achieving a new level of confidence.

It’s embodied on the bold and bright new single  “Bad For Me,” featuring Teddy Swims, out today. The track finds the powerhouse tapping into her doo-wop roots once more with a whole lot of fresh fire. Throwback harmonies underline a simmering groove as she opens up lyrically. On the chorus, she urges, “Please don’t make promises that you can’t keep. Your best intentions end up hurting me.” Meanwhile, Teddy appears with a seismic and show-stopping vocal turn of his own. Together, they uplift the lyrics with undeniable energy. Listen HERE.

Directed by Thom Kerr (Iggy Azalea, Kim Petras), the accompanying video finds Meghan and Teddy in a symbolic and surreal world full of flowers. As the video fluctuates between different landscapes, it showcases the journey that writing and recording this song has taken Meghan on. It’s one in which she has found light and new beginnings in distancing herself from toxic relationships. Watch HERE.

Regarding “Bad For Me, Meghan commented, “My dad actually sent me Teddy’s video for ‘Broke’, and I’ve been so obsessed with him ever since. It’s a dream to record with someone who has that good of a voice, and he’s the sweetest guy ever. The song is a true story for me. It’s about how I stood up for myself and took a step back from a relationship that was hurting me more than anything. It’s hard to do, but I needed to in order to feel better.

Meghan and Teddy will be performing “Bad For Me,” for the first time, on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this Friday, June 24th. Get ready for more very soon as Meghan takes it back in 2022.

Madonna’s Pride

On the night of June 23, Madonna, who is known for her Pride Month activations and championing LGBTQ rights throughout her career, once again outdid herself with an LGBTQ celebration at Terminal 5 in New York. The show was also in celebration of FINALLY ENOUGH LOVE, Madonna’s 16-track career-spanning remix compilation album, released on streaming today.

Madonna was joined by renowned drag queens Violet Chachki, Bob the Drag Queen, Pixie Aventura, and Laganja Estranja who arrived at the event on the Gaultier double-decker Pride bus.

Bob the Drag Queen served as MC of the show, with tongue-in-cheek skits featuring audio soundbites of Madonna supporting the LBGTQ community throughout the years. Laganja performed an epic rendition of “Vogue,” where she was joined by Jose Xtravaganza, one of Madonna’s dancers on the Blond Ambition tour. Saucy Santana fired up the audience with a performance of his hit song “Walk.”

Madonna thrilled the crowd when she joined Tokischa on stage to perform “Hung Up on Tokischa.” She then gave an electrifying performance alongside Saucy Santana to a remixed version of his song “Material Gwerll” with new lyrics. David Banda, Madonna’s son, joined the show on multiple occasions as a dancer, delivering added energy and excitement. Madonna, joined by all of the performers, ended the night with a show-stopping performance of “Celebration.”

For the “Material Gwerll” remix debut, Madonna wore a custom-made Versace suit dress complete with custom hand-painted Versace pins in pride colors. The look was a nod to her original “Material Girl” music video where the dancers were dressed in tuxedos, with Madonna wearing the iconic pink dress, which Saucy’s look paid homage to.

Madonna’s 16-track career-spanning remix compilation album, Finally Enough Love, is available to stream NOW. The icon’s 50-track, complete remix compilation Finally Enough Love: 50 Number Ones will be released on August 19th in digital and physical format (CD and Vinyl). The upcoming remix album celebrates Madonna’s 50 #1 hits on Billboard’s Dance Music Charts, the first and only recording artist to reach this feat.

Madonna, who has been a leader in the NFT space, partnered for another time with WoW (World of Women) a thriving community celebrating representation, inclusivity, and equal opportunities for all. The event was sponsored by The Sandbox who has partnered with WoW to create the WoW Foundation, which will invest $25 million over five years in education and mentorship. Programs will include via a virtual academy for artists and building inclusive spaces across the metaverse. In addition, there will be an incubator, offering advice, funding, and access across The Sandbox ecosystem.

Judy Garland 100th Birthday Gala and Fragrance Reveal via She Grown Media for use by 360 Magazine

JUDY – A Garland Fragrance

To commemorate one of the greatest Hollywood icons, Vince Spinnato held the legendary Judy Garland 100th Birthday Gala and Fragrance Reveal. Known as a perfume developer and cosmetic chemist, Vince held the event to celebrate the upcoming unisex scent: JUDY – A Garland Fragrance.

The aroma was created in honor of Judy’s rich history and legacy. Her children, Liza Minnelli, Lorna Luft and Joey Luft, attended the gala to further memorialize their mother’s impact on the industry and world.

A custom-made design was invented for Judy’s bottle that showcases a passionate, dreamy theme. The exclusive 100th birthday collector’s bottle was revealed on the night and even up for grabs. The official release of the fragrance is slated for this autumn.

Throughout the evening, the venue exuded elegance. From the “Get Happy! Exhibit” to the House of Racanelli fashion show, attendees were immersed in chunks of Judy history. Her renowned Oscar was exhibited to further showcase the star that Judy truly was and forever will be.

Judy was not only an icon in the entertainment industry, but, too, as an activist for the queer community. With the celebration being held on June 10, it was perfectly aligned with LA Pride weekend. Additionally, the soiree served as a special commemoration for LGBTQ+ cohorts. Lastly, Garland was born during Pride month; and ironically, she passed on the same day as the Stonewall riots in NYC.

In short, the evening served to pay tribute to the work that Judy has accomplished in her career, but also to defend a broader mission.

GUCCI TOWARDS THE SUN

As Summer begins, Gucci presents a special selection of ready-to-wear and accessories from the House’s latest collections envisioned for the warm season. Mixing light fabrics with bright pops of color, the Towards the Sun pieces evoke the easy-going cadence that comes with sunny days. Upon bags, shoes, and accessories, pattern comes to the fore with the House’s emblematic GG monogram woven from a raffia-effect material. The women’s ready-to-wear proposes practical femininity in muslin slip dresses accented with lace, as well as a selection of bathing suits. The men’s lineup ranges from the casual to the sophisticated with jogging shorts, patterned pants, nylon jackets, and double-breasted blazers. Marcus King Debuts "Lie Lie Lie" via Republic Records for use by 360 MAGAZINE

Marcus King – LIE

Marcus King today announced the release of “Lie Lie Lie,” the latest preview track from his forthcoming solo album, Young Blood. The track premiered today with FLOOD Magazine. Shuffling rock drums, wild soloing and fuzzed out psychedelic guitar riffing combine into a towering sonic inferno. At the core of the blaze are King’s vocals, which share a revelation.  “‘Lie Lie Lie’ for me captures the spirit of this record.” King shared. “You can feel how natural the vibe was in the studio. This track showcases each player’s energy, it shines a light on the production and the SOUND of Easy Eye Sound. At the two-and-a-half-minute mark the band locks into a groove that becomes a sonic representation of why I do what I do! I LIVE for that feeling!

Accompanying the song release, King released a live video, created at Auerbach’s Easy Eye Sound Studio, it features acclaimed musicians including Chris St. Hilaire on drums and Nick Movshon on bass. Watch it HERE.

King’s tales of excess, salvation, break up and addiction, draw on some difficult and personal moments. Despite challenging personal circumstances, King has made his most accomplished work to date. One of his biggest fans, Dan Auerbach, exclaimed. “Music runs so deep in Marcus’s blood he might not even realize how born to do this he is. He’s the real deal.”

King has been an outlier from the very beginning. A fourth generation musician from Greenville, SC, who learned guitar at age 3 from his blues rock musician father Marvin King. He navigated troublesome school years to quickly become known as one of the most promising young artists of our time. He followed his breakout success with The Marcus King Band, with his Auerbach produced 2020 solo album debut, El Dorado. It garnered a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Americana Album” and critical praise from The New York Times to NPR’s Weekend Edition With unparalleled performance prowess and a dynamic live show, King has sold out historic venues from The Beacon to The Filmore. He has opened for Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathaniel Rateliff and graced the bills of Stagecoach, Fuji Rock, Rock Werchter and more. He also recently launched his own custom Gibson guitar and signature Orange guitar amplifier, the MK Ultra, which sold out before it even hit the stores.

King recently announced a massive headline US tour, with dates HERE through September and October 2022 supporting the release of his forthcoming solo album, Young Blood. He will be taking his stadium sized sound to esteemed venues across the U.S, including two nights at venues such as New York’s Beacon Theatre and Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium. Neal Francis and Ashland Craft support select dates, and the tour is hosted by comedian Dean Del Ray. Tickets on sale now HERE and a complete list of dates, including summer Europe festivals and shows with Greta Van Fleet, follows below.

King will continue to tear up the rulebook with the release Young Blood, redefining the route to modern rock stardom with a timeless sound and a singular voice, equal parts grease and grit, set to soon establish him as one of the most soulful vocalists of his generation.

More about Marcus King:

GRAMMY® Award-nominated artist, performer, and songwriter Marcus King was downright destined to play music. By eight-years-old, the fourth generation Greenville, SC native performed alongside pops, grandpa, and his uncles for the first time. Logging thousands of miles on the road as “The Marcus King Band,” he established himself with unparalleled performance prowess and a dynamic live show. During 2020, he linked up with Dan Auerbach [The Black Keys] and cut his solo debut El Dorado, garnering a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Americana Album.” Beyond praise from NPR, American Songwriter, and more, Rolling Stone christened it “excellent,” and Associated Press went as far as to claim, “El Dorado already stands out as a definite high point of 2020.” In between packing venues on his own, he performed alongside Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathanial Rateliff in addition to gracing the bills of Stagecoach and more with one seismic show after the next. Along the way, he caught the attention of Rick Rubin and signed to American Recordings.

Plugged into his old man’s dusty amp with a ’59 Les Paul in hand, Marcus set out to make a rock ‘n’ roll record in 2022. He didn’t disguise his ambitions at all. He didn’t hold back. He didn’t think about anything but writing from the gut, shooting from the hip, and playing straight from the heart. Joined by Auerbach, he made the kind of rock ‘n’ roll record that makes arenas and asses shake, and it’s called Young Blood [American Recordings/Republic Records].
