How Erling Haaland boosts Manchester City’s potential success

As one of the best squads in the world, Manchester City is always known for its strength in its lineup. Manager Pep Guardiola is always blessed with the best talent possible and that has happened again with the signing of a Norwegian superstar striker, Erling Haaland.

With years of experience playing for Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga, Haaland has proven that he is one of the most promising goal-scorers in the world. He was an amazing star player during his time at Dortmund and before he even played for the Yellow Wall, he was the star for RB Salzburg in Austria.

At only 21 years of age, Haaland has the potential to become the best player in the world in the long term future. Now that he is at Man City, he has the biggest platform possible to become one of the world’s best players. He was already on his way to that level during his time with Dortmund but City’s team will help him cement a championship pedigree.

If you are going to any website for football crypto betting, you should expect that Man City will come in as a favourite for almost any match. They have proven that with the talent that they have, they can win trophies. While the Champions League has continued to elude them, City is primed to become one of the legendary clubs that have won Europe’s top club competition.

Haaland will become the club’s top goal-scorer

Man City has been thriving with their goal-scoring even without a true number nine. They have run a system with a free-flowing offence where anyone can score as long as they are in the right position. This will not happen anymore with Haaland in the lineup because they finally have a cornerstone who is well known for scoring countless goals.

With Kevin De Bruyne serving as the team’s playmaker, you can expect that he will have a field day having a striker of Haaland’s quality play with him. KDB himself talked about how much he appreciates having a striker like Haaland on his team moving forward.

The Belgian midfielder said, ‘Erling Haaland is a top striker. His move should help us to grow as a team. Everybody expects a lot. They’ve always been looking for a number nine, but I think it’ll be good to have that striker that maybe scores 20-25 goals a season’.

Haaland fits in with Pep’s system

Pep Guardiola is one of the best managers of all time. That kind of title is not given to anyone just for the sake of it because Pep has done a stellar job of creating systems that best fit his teams. This was prominent during his time with Barcelona when he was the mind behind their signature ‘tiki-taka’ style with Lionel Messi as the focal point of the offence.

Now at City, Pep has done a good job of building a system despite the lack of a true striker over the past two seasons. With Haaland coming in, Pep will most likely revamp his system because he has to accommodate and maximise Haaland. The combo of this coach and player will instil fear into defenders because Pep has special plays in his backpocket for Haaland.

Man City has its Agüero replacement

When Sergio Agüero left for Barcelona in 2021, Man City lost their best-ever player and striker. That was a large void that was not filled by any player until now. With Haaland’s arrival, Man City has one of the best replacements that you can ever get for a club legend. He is primed to become the best striker in the world in the long term future. He will surely bring trophies back to Manchester given that he’s such a phenomenal player in terms of talent and an imposing physique.

Expect Man City to keep winning

Haaland already has a case to be called one of the best players in the world and with further training under Pep and stars like KDB, Haaland will only improve. If you are on any website for football crypto betting, never forget that City has a top striker who can change the complexion of any match. It is a tough time to be a defender, especially if they’re playing against Man City.

Director Karam Gill and Lil Baby discuss film Untrapped at Tribeca Film Festival via 360 Magazine

LIL BABY’S UNTRAPPED

Untrapped: The Story of Lil Baby” is the chronological narrative of Dominique Armani Jones, a black horse’s right of passage. Re-invents the American dream for the next generation, operate outside the rule of the general public. Lately, director Karam Gill has been christened by Forbes’ 30 Under 30 and indexed by Variety’s 10 Top Documentary Filmmakers to Watch. He has created a psychological yet visual anthology of the socioeconomic fate of a young black man in America. Recalling the days when Jay-Z moved dope in Marcy, this tale hits a hard chord with the less fortunate – making ends meet with whatever means necessary.

In 2016 the prosperous Quality Control Music imprint catapulted City Girls into the realm of Salt-N-Pepa and the Migos into a stratospheric N.W.A-ish enclave. With their managerial mastery, they signed Cardi B and enlisted him into their brigade. Shortly thereafter, Lil Baby burst into hip-hop celebrity after releasing My Dawg, peaking at 71 on Billboard Hot 100. Widely respected by peers in Atlanta’s West End, the film re-confirmed Lil Baby as one of the most influential in his set.

In short, this tabulated transmission, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival, portrays a successful drug dealer who has become an endearing father that amassed immeasurable success. Further, 2020 was his breakthrough to become a global star. Lil Baby was the first and only recording artist to achieve double platinum status and tied Prince as well as Paul McCartney for Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Gloomily, the film did not fully explain his rap culture and his flair for fashion, thus taking away the viewer’s affinity for the protagonist of nonfiction. Looks like a series on the verge of whistling out of the kettle.

Lastly, the ceremony ended with a public Q&A and a special performance by Lil Baby.

Still, you can combat such problems by making your diet rich in vitamins and minerals. Choose a healthy lifestyle, stick to it, and make it your everyday habit. A healthy lifestyle will help you combat many diseases that can come your way in the future.

Bastille releases Remind Me via 360 MAGAZINE

Bastille – Remind Me

Just as the weather begins to warm, Bastille has shared a contender for song of the summer with the release of new single, “Remind Me”—listen HERE.

A breezy, sensual, and yet deceptively contemplative slice of pop, “Remind Me” demonstrates Bastille’s unrivalled ability to craft infectious melodies and irresistible hooks. Built around sliding funk guitars and Dan Smith’s distinctive vocals, the track grows until it reaches a chorus filled with baroque vocal harmonies, ominous bass, and driving percussion, Dan’s voice aching with longing and heartbreak.

The video for the track is a mesmerizing fly through of Bastille’s pioneering Give Me The Future Experience, launched this week on Oculus HERE. Formulated using footage from a special one-off show dubbed the ‘Futureverse’ gig, the band were able to bring the metaverse to a real-life physical performance using cutting-edge virtual production technologies. In a world first, fans from anywhere in the world were able to scan themselves into these worlds as stylized avatars and interact with the real-life band members as they performed on stage, re-inventing the metaverse meets live experience whilst elevating the human connection. Watch the video for “Remind Me” HERE.

“Remind Me” began life in LA whilst the band was working with Rami Yacoub from Max Martin’s production team MxM. Speaking about “Remind Me,” Dan says,

“I started working on ‘Remind Me’ a few years ago in LA with some writer friends at the very beginning of the Give Me The Future album process. We weren’t really sure what it would be for but always loved how different it felt. Finishing it off in London with Mark Crew and the rest of the guys, we’d wanted to make something sharp and minimal. The lyrics are about how our minds can taunt us with memories that play uncontrollably like scenes on a loop, so we set the track over this hypnotic, rolling guitar riff. We invited a bunch of singers to lend their voices to the track. We’d been diving into a bunch of music from the 80’s that had sounded futuristic at the time, so it fits with the ideas of the past’s versions of the future that we explore across the album. This song was like a jumping off point for us a couple of years ago and helped shape the sonic tone of the whole Give Me The Future album. Plus, I’m a massive Michel Gondry and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind fan, and love how that film explores memory and relationships, so it was fun to nod to it.”

The track features background vocals from the band Fours and Zimbabwean-British singer Rationale.

“Remind Me” comes hot on the heels of Bastille’s critically acclaimed, #1 album, Give Me The FutureCalled “their best album” by both Rolling Stone UK and Clash and “the most expansive, yet cohesive record Bastille have put their name to” by NMEGive Me The Future explores a futuristic wonderland free from restrictions. Brimming with literary, cinematic, and cultural references to films like Thelma & Louise, the artist Keith Haring, and musicians like Phil Collins and The Police, the album is filled with danceable dreamscapes, providing an escapist universe where you can travel back and forward in time to be anyone, do anything, and embrace a new wave of technology, which enables us to get lost inside our imagination.

Having thrown themselves into co-writing for other artists in recent years, for the first time ever on a Bastille album, the band inched open the door to collaborators, working with venerable pop royalty such as Ryan Tedder (Adele, Taylor Swift) and Rami Yacoub (Britney Spears, Lady Gaga), as well as award-winning actor, musician, writer, creator, producer, director, and activist Riz Ahmed.

Bastille has just completed an extensive UK arena tour, and the band are currently on a huge tour of the US before returning to Europe and the UK this summer for a string of festival sets, including Kendal Calling, and Reading and Leeds Festival. They then set off on a South American and European tour later this year.

AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT

35 YEARS SINCE ITS FIRST PANELS WERE STITCHED, THE AIDS MEMORIAL QUILT REMAINS A POWERFUL TEACHING TOOL FOR HEALTH ACTION, REMEMBRANCE AND SOCIAL JUSTICE

Thousands see largest Quilt display in a decade with 3,000 panels made during the darkest days of the pandemic and in recent years, a reminder that the fight for a cure, health and social justice is not over

National AIDS Memorial announces $2.4 million grant from Gilead Sciences to launch the Quilt Southern Initiative for new Quilt programming to tackle rising HIV rates within communities of color

It has been 35 years since the first panels of the AIDS Memorial Quilt were stitched together, sparking a national movement for action, justice and remembrance for an epidemic that has claimed over 36 million lives around the world.

More than 3,000 Quilt panels were displayed in Golden Gate Park – each 3’ x 6’ panel the size of a grave – remembering a life lost to AIDS.  The Quilt’s presence – the largest display in more than a decade – demonstrated its unique power to comfort, heal and be used as a catalyst for action today in the ongoing struggle for health and social justice.

“What started as a protest thirty-five years ago to demand action turned into a movement that served as a wake-up call to the nation that thousands upon thousands of people were dying. Today, the Quilt is just as relevant and even more important, particularly in the wake of Covid-19 and recent gun violence our nation has faced,” said Cleve Jones, who joined with co-founders Mike Smith and Gert McMullin to begin the unfolding and reading names ceremony. “The fact is that the struggles we face today which result from health and social inequities are the issues we will face again if we don’t learn from the lessons of the past.”

A constant each day was the continuous reading aloud of names lost to AIDS, which could be subtly heard throughout the meadow. On display were many original panels made during the darkest days of the AIDS pandemic as well as ones made in recent years, a reminder that the AIDS crisis is not over.  Thousands of visitors took part in the historic two-day event, experiencing the beauty of each panel and the stories of love stitched into their fabric.

“The Quilt remains a powerful symbol of hope, remembrance and action by pulling the thread from one generation to the next for health and social justice,” said John Cunningham, CEO of the National AIDS Memorial. “We must continue the Quilt’s 35-year legacy of bringing it to communities throughout the nation to fight for a cure, and to serve as a teach tool and catalyst for change.”

In the midst of this powerful backdrop, the National AIDS Memorial announced a $2.4 million grant from Gilead Sciences to launch the Quilt Southern Initiative to create new Quilt programming to address the disproportionate impact of HIV in the Southern U.S. A major focus will be to reach communities of color, which experience higher rates of new infections and lower rates of treatment and prevention.

“Throughout its 35-year history, the Quilt has touched hearts and minds by connecting communities through hope and remembrance,” said Daniel O’Day, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Gilead Sciences. “This new initiative with the National AIDS Memorial will bring the Quilt to the Southern United States, reaching communities most affected by HIV/AIDS with the powerful stories that are stitched into its panels.”

Working together with the Southern AIDS Coalition and other community partners, the National AIDS Memorial will launch a Call My Name Southern Quilting program, organizing new panel-making workshops to ensure that southern communities and stories are reflected in the Quilt, to build on the Quilt’s legacy of activism, and to raise greater awareness of lives lost to HIV/AIDS, then and now.  Later this fall, sections of the Quilt will be displayed in communities of impact in the South as part of a curated storytelling exhibition, programming and activities in partnership with local organizations and advocates.

“Quilt making has such powerful storytelling tradition and deep history in the South, particularly within the Black community,” said Dafina Ward, Executive Director of the Southern AIDS Coalition. “We are honored to work in partnership with the National AIDS Memorial and Gilead to launch this new program and connect the AIDS Quilt to southern communities. The Quilt symbolizes the power of community, of remembrance, and celebrating legacy. All of which is critical to ending HIV-related stigma.”

Today, more than 1.3 million people are living with HIV in the United States with over 30,000 new cases being reported each year. Marginalized populations, particularly Black, Hispanic, API and LGBTQI+ communities, are disproportionately impacted. Four decades since the first cases of AIDS were reported, more than 700,000 lives have been lost to the disease in the U.S. alone.  In 1993, HIV was the leading cause of death for Black men between ages 25-44. By 2004, HIV became the leading cause of death for Black women in the same age group. Today, according to the latest figures provided by the CDC, Black Americans make up 42% of all new HIV diagnoses in the U.S., with half of those diagnoses occurring in southern states, and rates rising among certain segments of the population. While rates of infection have decreased overall in recent years, rates continue to rise among Black men.  Racism, HIV stigma, homophobia, poverty, and barriers to health care continue to drive these disparities.

“We are thankful to Gilead for its leadership and vision and look forward to working together with many community partners in the coming months to launch this meaningful initiative,” added Cunningham. “Making new quilt panels is a way to bring to the forefront the impact of HIV/AIDS on the Black community and a way to raise greater awareness that change these statistics.”

The Quilt is considered the largest community arts project in the world, now surpassing 50,000 individually sewn panels with more than 110,000 names stitched into its 54 tons of fabric that honors lives lost to AIDS.  Its first panels were created in June of 1987 when a group of strangers, led by gay rights activist Cleve Jones, gathered in a San Francisco storefront to document the lives they feared history would forget. This meeting of devoted friends, lovers and activists would serve as the foundation for The NAMES Project’s AIDS Memorial Quilt.  Each panel made measured 3 ft by 6 ft, the size of a human grave. They saw the Quilt as an activist tool to push the government into taking action to end the epidemic.

Gilead Sciences is the presenting partner for the 35th Anniversary Display of the Quilt. Other major partners include Quest Diagnostics, San Francisco Recreation and Parks, UCSF, Wells Fargo, Bank of America, Chevron, Dignity Health, Goldman Sachs, Uber, Verizon and ViventHealth.  A complete list of partners can be found HERE.

RYAN TREY – ONLY US

Just in time to heat up summer playlists, emerging singer/rapper/songwriter Ryan Trey dropped the smooth single “Only Us,” with Detroit standout Babyface Ray and its official music video today. In the video, Ryan asserts his dedication to his girl from initial sparks of romance at a daytime group hangout to Ryan and his lady on a solo adventure as he charms her with his witty lyrics and unique flow. The video’s homegrown, natural aspect shines as it flips between shots seemingly from home movies like with budding relationship. Babyface Ray slides in like a seasoned wingman, detailing his own POV in his verse to assist Ryan’s setup. The video was directed by Mac Grant, who has also helmed clips for JID, 21 Savage, YFN Lucci, EARTHGANG and Rapsody. Watch “Only Us” HERE.

“Only Us” sustains the building momentum for Ryan Trey, which began with the titillating video for “Slide.” In that video, directed by Joshua Valle, Ryan seeks an escape after a fallout with his girlfriend and ventures to the strip club with his boys. There, a bodacious dancer catches his eye and lures him to the bar, and, despite his girlfriend’s pleas via text, Ryan gets a private dance and remains at the club for the night. A drunken Ryan finds himself in a daze, thinking he sees his girlfriend at the club when in reality, it’s the dancer who caught his attention. Watch “Slide” HERE.

“Slide” appears on Ryan’s breakthrough release, A 64 East Saga. The 14-track EP houses a collaboration with Bryson Tiller, and the production from a slew of heavyweights, including Boi1da, Vinylz, Jahaan Sweet, OG Parker, Rob Halladay and Albert Lee, allows Ryan’s dulcet vocals and steely wordplay to thrive. The project garnered positive reviews from publications such as Billboard, which billed him a “threatening combo artist within the independent circuit.” Thanks to the project, Ryan has soared to over 120 million streams in the U.S. alone.

Beyond the music world, Ryan continues to up his brand in the fashion game. Earlier this year, BAPE and Reebok announced their new collaboration on the sneaker’s Club C and Instapump Fury featuring #JUSTAREGULARDAYS Bryson Tiller, Nia Sultana, and Ryan Trey.

2023 Lexus RX via Lexus for use by 360 MAGAZINE

2023 LEXUS RX

Listen to Vice President of Marketing for Lexus Vinay Shahani’s full conversation with Vaughn Lowery on the 360 MAG Podcast HERE.

Lexus pioneered the luxury crossover segment with the launch of the first RX more than 20 years ago and never looked back. Lexus redefined what the RX means to guests with the global reveal of the all-new RX at the Lexus New Product Showcase. As the first luxury brand to offer a hybrid in the segment, it’s only fitting that RX returns with a variety of electrified powertrains. The 2023 Lexus RX, the fifth generation for the Lexus core model, is completely redesigned from the wheels to the roof rails, featuring a new global platform, two all-new grades, available Digital Key, Lexus Safety System+ 3.0, and Lexus Interface Multimedia System.

While pursuing a unique identity for 2023, the redesigned model maintains what makes an RX an RX: a comfortable, quiet in-cabin atmosphere, refined ride comfort, excellent grip and drive force control, and confident driving enjoyment.

“Nothing exemplifies our commitment to the transformation we’re making as a brand and Next Chapter for Lexus product more than the renewal of our best-selling vehicle – the RX,” said Andrew Gilleland, group vice president, and general manager, Lexus Division. “We’re breathing new life into the segment-leading RX with enhanced safety and technology, human-centered design, and undeniable performance from a diverse mix of powertrains.”

The 2023 RX builds on the foundation of the iconic Lexus spindle design and evolves into a new, cohesive spindle body design. This sleek, dynamic design is symbolized by a sense of solid mass. Central to the new spindle body design is the carefully sculpted seamless grille and integrated headlamps that strengthen and evolve the signature design. The refined, low center of gravity is realized through a mature, grounded stance accented by 19-inch wheels with a dark gray machined finish and color-keyed overfenders. For those who want a more powerful look, 21-inch wheels are available in luxury color variations. From the side, the three-dimensional surface strongly flares from the rear door toward the tire to evoke powerful traction produced by the rear motor. From the back, the RX inherits the signature L-shaped light bar lamp with lenses that wrap around the sides of the body to emphasize a wider, more powerful silhouette.

The 2023 RX will be offered in six grades: Standard, Premium, RX-first Premium+, Luxury, F SPORT Handling, and RX-first F SPORT Performance.

The 2023 RX will be offered in 10 exterior color options depending on grade: Ultra White, Eminent White Pearl, Nebula Gray Pearl, Iridium, Caviar, Matador Red Mica, Copper Crest, Nori Green Pearl, Nightfall Mica, and Grecian Water.

Inside, the RX follows an intentional, human-centered design with control surfaces tuned to enable a deeper and more intuitive connection to instill confidence and control in the driver – a key element in the Lexus Driving Signature philosophy. Opening the door with just a touch of the e-Latch system, the RX welcomes the driver with available multi-colored illumination accents, tasteful door trim options, and an available panorama glass roof that evokes a relaxing, open space. Driver controls like the steering wheel switches, available head-up display (HUD), available navigation, and audio have been designed in a functional, concise layout to minimize driver distraction. Lexus Interface and trials come standard on the RX and a 14-inch Multimedia Touchscreen Display is available.

The 2023 RX will be offered in six interior color options with four ornamentation styles depending on grade. Interior colors: Macadamia, Black, Birch, Palomino, Peppercorn and Rioja Red. Ornamentation styles: Black Cascade, Ash Bamboo, Black Open Pore, and Dark Graphite Aluminum.

RX’s new GA-K platform offers a low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution. To be exact, the all-new RX is up to 198 pounds lighter than the outgoing generation, as a result of material optimization in the main framework components of the chassis and the new global platform. Furthermore, by reducing weight and increasing rigidity, the key Lexus Driving Signature touches, ride comfort and quietness, become more refined. The new RX rides on a 2.36-inch longer wheelbase with a 2.36-inch shorter rear overhang, keeping the overall length of the vehicle the same as the previous generation. The rear section of the platform features an all-new multi-link suspension design, attached to a rigid high-torsion rear body frame that facilitates more consistent suspension input/travel during acceleration, deceleration, and steering moments.

The GA-K platform also increases the front/rear couple distance, resulting in more legroom for rear passengers. RX guests will also enjoy increased cargo space and a lowered back door trim to decrease loading height.

The all-new RX will be offered in four new powertrain options to help meet the needs of varying guests, including a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) model. Supporting the larger Lexus Electrified vision, RX continues the brand’s continued progress toward supporting the evolution, education, and understanding that electrified vehicles can provide exhilarating performance. One mission RX will fulfill is its role as a global core model that helps contribute to the realization of a carbon-neutral society while staying close to the increasingly diversified needs and lifestyles of guests.

The RX 350 (FWD/AWD) offers a responsive 2.4L turbocharged inline-4 engine for torque-filled, dynamic driving performance.

The RX 350h (AWD) fourth-generation large-capacity fuel-efficient hybrid system features a front unit that integrates a high-torque 2.5L inline-4 engine.

The RX 450h+ plug-in hybrid vehicle details for the U.S. market will be shared at a later time.

Building on more than 20 years of hybrid electric technology and experience, the RX 500h F SPORT Performance introduces a new hybrid-electric system for the Lexus brand with a front unit that integrates a high-torque 2.4-liter turbo engine, six-speed automatic transmission, inverter, and an electric motor, with an eAxle rear unit that integrates a high output electric motor, inverter, and reduction gearbox. This configuration allows the electric motor to provide low-end torque that helps to provide improved performance and quick acceleration. The turbocharged engine produces high torque throughout its entire rev range, delivering powerful acceleration at higher speeds.

The Lexus RX 500h F SPORT Performance utilizes the DIRECT4 drivetrain, our advanced methodology for controlling our highest technology all-wheel-drive systems. DIRECT4 AWD supplies optimal power to the eAxles to provide maximum grip, traction, and acceleration in all situations.

A first for the RX lineup, the RX 500h F SPORT Performance grade goes beyond the current generation F SPORT design package for a sportier, more performance-driven look and feel. The RX 500h features opposed six-piston brake calipers, mesh grille, front bumper, and 21-inch aluminum wheels that exude a wide, confident stance and contribute to aerodynamic performance.

The interior includes a host of F SPORT accents like a perforated leather-trimmed steering wheel with paddle shifters, suede-trimmed interior door trim, F SPORT scuff plate, leather-trimmed interior, aluminum pedals, and more.

One of the hallmarks of RX’s success is its dependable safety features. Judgement Day is Coming

Next month, Krakoa braces itself for war when mutantkind is targeted by the Eternals! Do the Avengers stand a chance at preventing an apocalyptic conflict from erupting across the Marvel Universe? Find out in A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY, the latest Marvel Comics crossover event launching this summer. Written by Kieron Gillen and drawn by Valerio Schiti, the epic saga will deliver thrilling payoffs to recent events in AVENGERS, X-MEN, and ETERNALS titles. Fans got their first glimpse in this year’s FREE COMIC BOOK DAY: JUDGMENT DAY and can get the full scope of the Eternals’ destructive plan in A.X.E.: EVE OF JUDGMENT, a special prelude issue by Gillen and Pasqual Ferry.

Eternals know that the mutants have conquered death. But what are they going to do about it? The oldest immortals on Earth size up the newest, and the doomsday clock starts to tick toward Judgment Day…

“The Eternals are the aggressors here,” Gillen explained to Popverse in a recent interview. “This is the Eternals about to go to war. You get to see the prime Eternals building their armories, working out how they’re going to kill people, various plans and kidnappings, and the good Eternals perhaps being a bit more lost. It’s preparation for war. That’s what it is. I think that’s the best way of describing it, as well as being also a really good restatement of what’s going on in the Eternals. Because if you haven’t read issues one to 12, this is like, ‘OK, I don’t know anything about Eternals. I don’t know, why would [they] be going to war? Who are they even?’ It’s that as well. This is the preparation of the war happening and everything you need to know going in.”

Check out a teaser from the issue below and witness the opening moves of A.X.E.: JUDGMENT DAY when A.X.E.: EVE OF JUDGMENT arrives on July 13. For more information, visit HERE.

Retailers, don’t forget to order your copies of A.X.E.: EVE OF JUDGMENT #1 by Monday, June 13!

2023 COROLLA HYBRID MODELS

The Toyota Corolla rolls into 2023 a changed car, and customers are bound to love what they see and drive. The line expands with four new Hybrid grades, including a more powerful hybrid system and available all-wheel drive.

There’s big news on the gas side of the Corolla family, too. The LE, the most popular grade, now has the 169-horsepower 2.0-liter Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine used in all other gas grades. Replacing a 139-hp 1.8-liter engine, it offers much more dynamic performance (0-60 two seconds quicker than with the 1.8L engine). Yet, it is also more efficient, improving on the previous engine fuel economy ratings by nearly two miles per gallon with a manufacturer-estimated 31 city/40 hwy./34 combined MPG. And that’s just for starters. All 2023 Corolla models gain next-generation Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, and next-generation Toyota Audio Multimedia and are topped off with updated front and rear styling.

The wide-ranging enhancements to the 12th-generation Corolla exemplify Toyota’s fervent approach to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction. That’s a big reason why Corolla, which has sold over 50 million globally since 1966, has become the world’s top-selling model.
In all 2023 Corolla gas engine models, the Dynamic Shift continuously variable transmission gives a distinct performance feel thanks to a gear set used as a “first” gear for start-off acceleration, before seamlessly handing off to the CVT’s pulley system. Synchronization of the increasing engine revs and vehicle speed provides a linear acceleration feel. This combined with the enhanced sport mode provides a more engaging driving experience for the 2023 Corolla. Additionally, in the SE and XSE grades, the transmission features paddle shifters to engage 10 pre-set ratios to offer a sportier driving experience.

Following other Toyota Hybrids, the 2023 Corolla Hybrid now offers the option of all-wheel drive, but this is AWD with a big advantage. Instead of transferring gears and a driveshaft to the rear wheels, Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive employs a separate rear-mounted electric motor to power the rear wheels when needed.

The system works seamlessly and transparently, preemptively distributing driving force to the rear wheels to help suppress front wheel slip during off-the-line starts. It also engages the rear motor in response to slippage at the front wheels and enhances cornering agility by helping to reduce understeer. The driver can view torque distribution on the Multi-information Display and audio system screen.
The 2023 Corolla Hybrids also offer enhanced brake control, while the SE grades (FWD and AWD) inherit the firmer-feel Electronic Power Steering from the Corolla Apex Edition performance model.

Toyota remains the world’s hybrid leader, and the operative word for the 2023 Corolla Hybrid is “more.” There’s more power, and there’s more traction, with Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive (AWD), as used in other Toyota Hybrids. And there are more model choices, with the Corolla Hybrid LE FWD gaining four new siblings: the LE AWD grade, sporty SE and SE AWD grades, and a premium-focused XLE grade.

All 2023 Corolla Hybrid models gain a more powerful Toyota Hybrid System. As before, the system pairs a 1.8-liter Atkinson-cycle four-cylinder gas engine with two motor-generators through a planetary-type continuously variable transmission. A compact high-output/low-loss drive motor has been newly developed for the transaxle/motor, which includes a redesigned magnet and electromagnetic steel plate configuration with two additional magnets for increased output. The new hybrid system also includes a newly developed lithium-ion battery that’s now located under the rear seat to lower the center of gravity and maximize trunk cargo capacity.

Notably, the 2023 Corolla Hybrid is the only compact hybrid passenger car available with all-wheel drive. For buyers, that means getting the best of both worlds: added traction for slippery road conditions and efficient fuel economy.

On 2023 Corolla Sedans, new front fascia styling varies across grades, and all receive LED daytime driving lights (DRL), with the SE, XSE, and XLE grades also featuring redesigned LED headlights. The LE adds an updated rear bumper design, while the sporty SE and XSE get an all-new rear sports diffuser and feature new 18-inch Gloss Graphite-colored alloy wheels.

The Corolla Hatchback features a redesigned front grille with chrome-finished accents, along with revised LED headlights. The rear bumper is updated with a combination of body color and added chrome-finished accents. The new 18-inch Gloss Graphite-colored alloy wheels are also available for the Hatchback.

It just wouldn’t be a new Toyota model year without some compelling color changes. Corolla Sedan offers elegant new Underground and Midnight Black Metallic, which replaces Black Sand Pearl. The Hatchback shows off its wild side with new Inferno and Blue Crush Metallic choices. (Blue Crush was formerly only on the 2022 Sedan.)
Other Sedan colors for 2023 include White, Classic Silver Metallic, Celestite, and Blueprint. Wind Chill Pearl and Ruby Flare Pearl are available for an extra cost. The Hatchback offers a similar palette and also allows extra-cost duo-color options pairing the body color with a Midnight Black Metallic roof.

Standard on Corolla XSE and XLE, a redesigned 7-inch multi-information display (MID). All other grades feature an updated 4.2-inch MID located between the tachometer and speedometer allowing the driver to view either analog or digital speedometers. Featuring rich graphics, the easy-to-read MIDs can be custom configured by the driver. It offers intuitive operation to access information for the audio and multimedia systems, navigation, and vehicle information including fuel efficiency estimates and tire pressure, as well as TSS 3.0 functions.

Toyota became an early leader in equipping its vehicles with safety systems featuring automatic emergency braking and, for 2023, Toyota Safety Sense technology in Corolla evolves to version 3.0 and includes enhanced versions of the following pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC), Lane Tracing Assist (LTA), Road Sign Assist (RSA), and Automatic High Beams (AHB).
In addition, Corolla is available with Front and Rear Parking Assist with Automatic Braking and Adaptive Front Lighting. The latter provides a wider field of light and steers the low beam lights in the direction of the turn, based on steering angle and vehicle speed.

Designed and engineered by Toyota’s Texas-based Connected Technologies team, the 2023 Corolla comes equipped with a standard next-generation 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia system providing a wide range of enhanced connectivity and convenience features, including being Over-the-Air (OTA) updatable. Users can interact with the design of the new system through intuitive touch and voice activation controls. With the latest available Connected Service, Drive Connect*, users have access to Intelligent Assistant, Cloud Navigation, and Destination Assist. With Intelligent Assistant simple phrases like “Hey Toyota” awakens the system for voice-activated commands to search for directions, find Points of Interest (POI), adjust audio controls, change the cabin temperatures, and more. Cloud Navigation is the available onboard navigation solution that utilizes the cloud to download the latest available map, traffic, and routing information. To ensure you have the most up-to-date search capabilities, POI search is provided by Google Points-of-Interest data. Destination Assist also gives access to 24/7 live agent assistance to locate your next destination. * Active Drive Connect trial or subscription required.

The new Toyota Audio Multimedia allows for dual Bluetooth® phone connectivity, with support for standard Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. With further connectivity, the Corolla offers an available Wi-Fi Connect subscription that offers 4G connectivity for up to five devices turning the Corolla into an AT&T Hotspot, along with the ability to link your separate Apple Music® and Amazon Music subscriptions to the vehicle’s new Integrated Streaming feature. Adding to the already robust offering of audio playback ability with HD Radio®, USB data, and a SiriusXM® Platinum Plan 3-month trial subscription.

For those looking for an enhanced audio experience, the Corolla SE, XSE, and XLE grades come available with a JBL® Premium Audio system with 9 speakers including an 800-watt amplifier and 10-in. subwoofer.

Each Corolla comes with a host of Connected Services available on all grades, trial or subscription required. Safety Connect™ includes an Emergency Assistance Button (SOS), 24/7 Enhanced Roadside Assistance, Automatic Collision Notification, Stolen Vehicle Locator, and Collision Assistance. Service Connect offers drivers the capability of receiving Vehicle Health Reports, Maintenance Alerts, and reminders with a 3-year trial. With the Toyota app, users can stay connected to their Toyota with the available Remote Connect service.

Corolla’s model variety is made possible by the Toyota New Global Architecture-C platform (TNGA-C). A super-rigid structure, a low center of gravity, and highly refined tuning of the MacPherson-type strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension endow the Corolla with exemplary handling agility, ride comfort, and distinctive driving personality. This high-strength platform is fortified through the use of ultra-high-tensile steel as well as the application of structural adhesive technology for enhanced body rigidity and passenger security.

Corolla’s cabin is a sanctuary where powertrain and road noise have been minimized thanks to the widespread implementation of sound-absorbing materials, including Thinsulate®, sealants, foams, and silencer pads. The TNGA structure utilizes additional seals in its body panel gaps to insulate noise penetration and enhance air-sealing performance. As one example, the floor silencer pad is one large piece, instead of many smaller segments.

The cockpit provides an engaging interior space that surrounds the driver while offering a spacious environment for all passengers. High-gloss materials are paired with matte elements – silver accents with Piano Black and available contrasting stitching – contributing to a premium look and feel.

Seating materials include standard cloth or, in higher grades, SofTex®-trim. For 2023, choices include Black/Red (black as the main color with red highlights), Moonstone (light gray as the main color with dark gray highlights), and Macadamia (a warm, inviting cream color). On front seats in the SE and XSE grades, shoulder supports, evocative of a competition bucket seat, overlap solid and thick side bolsters to help comfortably grip occupants.

Available ambient lighting illuminates the front door trim, console tray, and front cupholder. The tray can hold small items, such as a smartphone or wallet, or, when so equipped, houses the available Qi wireless device charging pad. Terraced cup holders adapt to various-sized beverage containers.

The 2023 Corolla models feature eight standard airbags and Toyota’s Star Safety System, which includes Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Electronic Brake-force Distribution, Brake Assist, Anti-lock Braking System, and Smart Stop Technology. All Corolla sedan models come equipped with a standard backup camera.

Corolla has been and will continue to be assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Mississippi (TMMMS), where there are 1,500 Toyota team members. Additionally, the latest Corolla family member, the first-ever Corolla Cross, is assembled at the new joint-venture manufacturing plant with Mazda in Huntsville, Alabama. The new manufacturing facility represents a combined investment of $1.6 billion by the two companies. There are 4,000 team members and an annual assembly capacity of 300,000 vehicles. Corolla Hybrid is assembled in the Takaoka plant in Japan.

Toyota’s 36-month/36,000-mile basic new-vehicle warranty applies to all components other than normal wear and maintenance items. Additional 60-month warranties cover the powertrain for 60,000 miles and corrosion with no mileage limitation. Hybrid-related components that require repairs needed to correct defects in materials or workmanship are covered for 8 years/100,000 miles, whichever comes first from the original date of first use when sold as new. The hybrid battery is covered for 10 years/150,000 miles, whichever comes first, and is transferrable across the ownership.
The Corolla models also come with ToyotaCare, a no additional cost plan that covers normal factory-scheduled maintenance for two years or 25,000 miles, whichever comes first, and 24-hour roadside assistance for two years, unlimited mileage.
