FASTEST GROWING TOURIST ATTRACTION OF KOREA – INCHEON

Korea has quickly earned increasing global interest and attention with the rise of online cultural trends. So many people are intrigued by the experience of Korean culture, and since Korea has been continuously recuperating from COVID-19, the Incheon Tourism Organization predicts that international tourists will be able to indulge in trips to Korea very soon.

Seoul has been often regarded as the leading tourist attraction in Korea, but Incheon may triumph over Seoul modernly. Conveniently located by the sea amongst islands and numerous filming locations of Korean cultural content, tourists can now encounter trips in the area with Incheon’s smart tourist platform.

Incheon Tourism Organization suggests the following tourist locations to get to know the true essence of Incheon.

Wolmido Island – Location from Squid Game

Wolmi Theme Park (Wolmi My Land) opened in 1992 and is the oldest amusement park in Wolmido. The park has become exceptionally popular as it was the filming location of Squid Game, where Deoksu meets his gang members. Fans come near and far to get photo ops at Wolmi There Park, indulging in dalgona like the characters from Squid Game and to admire the breathtaking sunsets.

Yeongjongdo Island – The Heart of Korean Content

Yeongjongdo Island is typically the first site that tourists encounter, as many international airlines arrive in Korea via Incheon International Airport. One of the top art and entertainment resorts in Yeongjongdo Island, Paradise City, is noteworthy for the multitude of music videos, photoshoots and fan meeting sites for K-Pop artists. Paradise City isn’t the only filming location for Korean content from TV series to reality shows in Yeongjongdo Island. Eurwangni Beach is where BTS filmed one of their music videos, and is a must-visit for those looking to appreciate a stunning sunset in Korea.

Incheon Open Port – Smart Travel via Incheon Easy App

PANAMA RANKS AS NO.1 RETIREMENT DESTINATION

In accordance with International Living’s 31st Annual Global Retirement Index, Panama has been named the world’s #1 destination for 2022. This Index, produced in accordance with numerous statistics and on-the-ground input from in-country correspondents, ranks and rates the world’s leading retirement locations. The index surveys 10 major categories that include cost of living, retiree benefits, healthcare and more.

Panama snatches the top spot in InternationalLiving.com’s 2022 Annual Global Retirement Index. Panama capped the categories of opportunity, visa/ residency and benefits/ discounts, while scoring at the top amongst the fitting in and healthcare categories.

For such a small country, Panama is truly emerging – this marks the 11th time that Panama has dominated in International Living’s Annual Global Retirement Index, for all the right reasons.

In 2022, Panama ranks as one of the simplest retirement destinations for travel from the United States or Canada. Panama City, the capital of Panama, is the one true First World city in Central America. Easy access to Panama from all over the U.S. increases the flexibility for travel, with several one-way flights available across the U.S., and cities in Canada and Europe. The modernity of Panama is only a short three hours from Miami, and five hours from New York. Not to mention, the currency is also the U.S. dollar!

Jessica Ramesch, the International Living Panama editor reflects on her experience in the country, stating, “as a single woman I feel safe and free to live my life here, whether I’m going out to dinner and Ubering home late at night or driving cross-country to visit friends. Perhaps that’s because this is truly a land of opportunity, home to thousands of hard-working, upwardly mobile locals and immigrants.”

Ramsech continues her advocation for Panama, touching on the accessibility, indulgences, and credibility of the country. She states, “My favorite spot right now is Coronado, a happening beach town just an hour’s drive from the capital. In fact, I like it so much I bought an apartment there, and am packing up to move. Coronado is home to one of Panama’s most active and welcoming expat communities. I’m not even there yet, and I’m already getting invites to potlucks and happy hours.”

No matter where retirees choose to live in Panama, Ramesch says, they’re likely to be only an hour away from hospitals. In Coronado there’s access to the San Fernando facility. It’s a satellite of the San Fernando in Panama City—a JCI-accredited hospital affiliated with the Miami Children’s Hospital, Baptist Health International of Miami, and Tulane University Health Services Center and Hospital Clinic.

“Panamanian doctors make patients feel truly cared for,” says Ramesch. “They don’t rush through appointments, and they’ll often give you their cell phone number so you have direct access to them while you’re going through treatment or recovery.

“In fact, I’d say Panamanians in general are the best part of living in Panama. I have made so many wonderful friends here. People who are welcoming and fun and have a wide range of interests, so the conversation is always engaging.”

According to International Living, one of the most attractive features of living in Panama stems from the Pensionado program suitable for retirees.

Ramesch declares her support for the program, declaring, “the Pensionado program is, hands down, the best retirement visa program in the world. It’s a big reason Panama has taken the number one spot on International Living’s Annual Global Retirement Index so many times.”

Part of the reason for why Panama continues to steal those number one spots is due to the discounts that retirees with this visa have access to. The program makes it exceptionally simple – and inexpensive – to become a permanent legal resident. All of Panama’s legal residents are permitted to 20% off prescription medications if they’re of “pensioner” age. The base age is remarkably low, too – just 55 for women, 60 for men.

The Pensionado advantages expand to other discounts on dental care and transportation. Other leisure’s such as entertainment and hotel stays are available at low-cost rates, too.

Applicants with income of at least $1,000 a month qualify for the Pensionado program, and once you’re approved, you can appreciate all of the reductions.

“If you’d like to apply with your spouse, you can qualify with less than $1,000 each. You can even include dependents if you need to,” says Ramesch. “You just need a pension of at least $1,000 plus $250 for each additional person on your application.

“The $1,000 pension requirement reflects the low cost of living here in Panama. While it’s true that most of the North Americans who’ve chosen to retire here spend upwards of $2,000 a month, there are expats living here on far less.”

There are great areas in Panama that have rent prices as low as $300 to $500 a month, leaving extra money for retirees to spend elsewhere.

For those not 100% ready to make the permanent move just yet, Panama has a variety of alternatives for legal residency.

“The country has just unveiled a new extended-stay visa for digital-nomad types: The Temporary Telework Visa,” Ramesch says. “It allows you to come down and stay here—not for three months or even six, but for nine months. And you can extend for an additional nine months. That’s a generous total of 18 months, and the main requirements are simple: you must have medical insurance and an external source of income (at least $3,000 a month).”

Panama, too, has a “Foreign Professionals” Visa that has been available for over eight years. It allows foreign nationals to work in Panama, with easy requirements; you need a university education and a job arranged in Panama.

Though Panama ranks at the top in this year’s Annual Global Retirement Index, there are 25 other countries that were evaluated in the 10 categories used for judging, including; housing, benefits/ discounts, visa/residence, cost of living, fitting in/ entertainment, healthcare, development, climate, opportunity and governance. The full index country rankings for the year of 2022 can be found HERE.

SPOTLIGHT ON MARÍA BECERRA

María Becerra is a tour de force. The Argentinian songstress, known as “la nena de Argentina” released her second EP in 2021, embracing and experimenting with hip-hop, reggaeton, trap, R&B, salsa, and more to craft her new sound. Described as a “leading voice in Argentina’s urban pop movement,” Becerra is a star on the rise. As the first Latin artist signed to indie American record label 300 Entertainment and with a Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist pending, it is clear despite her successes already, she is only just beginning. She sat down to answer a few questions for 360 Magazine including how she got her start in music, the story behind her nickname, her influences, and what to expect from her in 2022.

How would you describe your style of music?

I believe I have a very melodic and versatile musical style. In the studio, we always try to ensure that each song has a varied melodic line, with different degrees of nuances. Above all, we aspire to make a melody that sounds familiar and enjoyable to the public. I have experimented with several genres and in all of them, I was able to find how to make my own style fit within them. I hear they call me ‘the Queen of Weeping,” which makes me laugh. I have many songs that are for dogging and dancing, and others that are a bit sadder.

How did you first become interested in creating music?

From a very young age, art was important to me; I learned how to sing, act and dance as a child. In my home, we listened to a lot of music. For a while, I did covers of famous songs as I learned. I think I was absorbing different music and styles to the point where I felt the need to start expressing myself with my own works. Despite this desire, I was not 100% confident in my abilities yet and had many insecurities. I was afraid of how the public would receive my music and doubted if this was my true path. Luckily, things turned out in a positive way. Today, I have no doubts that yes, I was born to create music and it brings me a lot of joy.

Which songs are you most proud of?

Mm, they are all special to me and fill me with pride. It is difficult for me to pick just one. If I had to choose one, my first instinct is to say Ademas De Mi or Mi Debilidad, that song is very significant to me as an artist. I cried a lot while making it and recording the video.

You were a Youtuber before becoming a singer. How was the experience of transitioning from an influencer to an artist?

YouTube was a beautiful experience, and I am grateful that the opportunity was a positive one. The change in my life was progressive over time. Being on YouTube allowed me the chance for people to get to know me, while I gained confidence and worked on my own fears as a public person. Obviously, my life and my career are now on another path but having the experience of being a YouTuber served as the foundation for everything that has gone on to happen in my life.

What is your favorite fan moment?

My favorite moments are when my fans tell me everything in my music speaks to them. It’s amazing how something I pour so much love into in the studio can reach so many people and positively influence their lives. In live concerts, we would raise up different fans to speak with them, and at one performance a girl told us that with my song ‘Tell Me How I Do,’ she declared her love to her girlfriend. I found it beautiful. Those moments fill me with incredible happiness.

Maria Becerra by Christian Garfa 2

How does it feel to have reached this level of popularity so young?

It still doesn’t feel real. It is incredible to me, but I just try and take things one day at a time. I try to appreciate the small things and remain the humble girl I’ve always been because that’s still who I am. I surround myself a lot with my friends, my family, and my pets who are my rocks – they remind me of where I come from and who I am.

Why do you refer to yourself as the Girl from Argentina?

In general, it is known that many of the best discoveries occur accidentally, and this was no exception. When we recorded Animal with Cazzu, in the song’s lyrics I sing “Las Nenas de Argentina,” as if referring to the two of us. Apparently, when people listened, they heard “La nena de Argentina” and everyone loved that I referred to myself that way. From there, I started to use it as my brand, and I feel it gives me a special power for communicating to the world my music and I are made and from Argentina.

Who are your influences?

Wow, so many artists! I especially love and admire Ariana Grande, Beyoncé, and Rihanna. They are very important role models to me. I watch their shows and videos a lot.

How did it feel to join a label as prestigious as 300 Entertainment?

I am honored and very happy to work with them. They have always been supportive, even affectionate, towards me. Unfortunately, their office is in Los Angeles, so we don’t have the opportunity to see each other that often, but when we do it’s always a special moment. I know the whole team at 300 takes care of me and wants the best for me, so I respect them and thank them very much.

Your most recent EP blended many different genres. Which genres would you like to experiment with in the future?

I like Bachata, and I think more songs like this are coming from me. Yet as I said before, I don’t want to pigeonhole myself. I love to experiment with different genres and different sounds, and that is what is important to me as I create music today. So, in 2022 you and all my fans can be surprised with what I come out with next.

What can we expect to see from you in the future?

I feel like 2022 is going to be a great year. My team and I are working hard to make it so. I’m locked in the studio, and many of the songs we are currently working on are tremendous. I am already anxious for people to listen to them. This year, a new album is coming, as well as trips and several shows in Argentina and Europe. We hope to reach many places and have everyone dance and sing to my music.

The musical synergy from the collective artists on the collaboration is palpable as “Running” ignites into a primed dancefloor player. Addictive and memorable, thanks to warm piano tones and Theresa Rex’s vocal, which is snappy and is striking from the first listen.

Cheat Codes have expertly crafted countless electronic music anthems, spanning dance, pop, hip-hop, and alternative. A formula has seen them excel in the streaming world, clocking in over 6 billion total streams, amounting to them being one of the “Top 200 Most Listened to Artists in the World”. The LA-based trio that consists of Kevin Ford, Trevor Dahl, Matthew Russell has also collaborated with a string of high-profile artists that include Afrojack, Wiz Khalifa, Travis Barker, Tove Styrke and Demi Lovato.

Cheat Codes said, “We are excited to kick off 2022 with ‘Running’ alongside our friends Martin and Theresa, we wanted to bring as much positivity and vibrance into the production and accomplish something anthemic! We hope everyone had a Happy New Year and are ready to hit the ground RUNNING in 2022.”

Danish singer Theresa Rex is the voice behind numerous hits, working with great artists like Jonas Blue, Alle Farben, and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. However, perhaps her most significant success came in her team up with Martin Jensen on the wildly popular “Solo Dance,” Martin’s breakthrough single, which stands at over 653 million streams on Spotify alone.

On the collaboration, Rex says, “It was so special working with Martin and the whole team again. It has been a moment since ‘Solo Dance’ came out, but I think that ‘Running’ is the perfect follow up and adding Cheat Codes to the mix has made it pure magic.”

Martin Jensen added, “The energy working with this whole team was incredible. Reuniting with Theresa meant we had to do something extraordinary, so who better to do that with than our good friends Cheat Codes.”

Jensen enjoyed a stellar 2020, capping off the year with two epic homecomings Me, Myself, Live shows in November, a year in the making and the evolution of his Me, Myself, Online shows launched during the lockdown to keep connected to his fans. Martin also returned for his second series as a judge on the Danish X-Factor series, where he remains the first DJ to do so. Martin also had a great year on the music front, receiving BBC Radio 1 support on his single “Can’t Come To The Phone” with Amber Van Day and N.F.I and releasing “Make My Mind Go,” with Rompasso, FAULHABER and JONASU.

Through the show, they broadened their fan base and introduced electronic music to a bigger stage. Nija – Don’t Say I Didn’t Warn You

Capitol Records recording artist Nija announced the January 28 release of her debut solo project, Don‘t Say I Didn‘t Warn You, and unveiled the album‘s cover artwork. Now available for pre-order/pre-save HERE, Don‘t Say I Didn‘t Warn You is a brash and self-assured work, an R&B project that takes cues from hip-hop‘s confidence and pairs it with a no-nonsense approach all Nija‘s own. It was executive produced by Jack Rochon.

“I‘m taking the power role,“ says Nija. “There‘s vulnerability in the music but it‘s a different approach. Instead of ‘oh, you hurt me,‘ it‘s like, ‘Damn, you did that to me? That‘s crazy. I‘ma move on but you fucked up for that.‘“

After dropping her first three singles in 2021 “Ease My Mind (Come Over),“ “Finesse“ and “On Call“  Nija has been dropping hints about the project by posting snippets on YouTube and TikTok and sharing playlists on Spotify and TIDAL. She‘s been named as one of Vevo DSCVR Artists To Watch 2022 and was tapped by Spotify to help launch its new Lyrics feature.

Born in New Jersey and now based in Los Angeles, Nija had written scores of Billboard Hot 100 hits before she had even turned 21 Rolling Stone called her “one of music‘s most sought-after songwriters.“ Now at 23,  the three-time GRAMMY Award-winning contributor is gaining widespread acclaim for  her own music and relishing in the freedom to fully express herself. People said, “the brain behind some of the biggest hits is  now ready to make a name for herself.“ VIBE hailed her as “a vocal talent whose sultry tone brings her lyrics to life.“

“There‘s a stigma against songwriters turning into artists because usually they give all their sauce away,“ says Nija. “But I‘ve always made sure I went above and beyond people‘s expectations, so don‘t say I didn‘t warn you about that.“

X-Men Ninety-Two: House of XCII

In 2019, Jonathan Hickman revolutionized the mutant mythos with the hit series HOUSE OF X. But what would it look like if the Krakoan age was ushered in decades earlier? Find out this April when writer Steve Foxe and artist Salva Espin reimagine this modern mutant milestone in X-MEN ’92: HOUSE OF XCII!

This limited series will see the return of the X-Men’s beloved ’90s incarnations as they tackle the groundbreaking beats of HOUSE OF X! Known for his ingenious work on titles like SPIDER-HAM and RAINBOW BRIDGE, Foxe makes his exciting X-Men debut with this clever twist that will delight X-Fans new and old. And Espin, whose eye-catching art graced the pages of DEADPOOL: SECRET AGENT DEADPOOL, is ready to bring back the pouches, bomber jackets, and all the explosive awesomeness that made the X-Men’s 90s heyday so iconic!

Mutantkind is taking a huge leap forward by founding their own nation on the island of Krakoa, guided by Professor X, Magneto, and a mysterious long-lived woman who knows more than she should… But this won’t be the story you know. Expect the unexpected as the action, secrets, and high stakes drama that made HOUSE OF X such a masterpiece is shaken up in a totally new way!

“One of my earliest memories is of buying a Garrison Kane action figure, complete with ‘snap-back living hand,’ so to say that the ’90s X-Men comics had a big impact on my development is an understatement,” Foxe said. “Getting the opportunity to pay tribute to such an important era in mutant history 30 years later—and to remix the franchise-redefining work currently being done by creators like Jonathan Hickman, Tini Howard, and Gerry Duggan—is the definition of a ‘dream gig,’ especially with some of the WILD deviations we’re taking from the source material. If I died tomorrow, I’d be happy…but please resurrect me ASAP on Krakoa.”

“I started collecting comics with the X-Men in the nineties. The character designs of this era have always been the most attractive and powerful to me,” Espin said. “Those comics and the animated series made my imagination fly and very soon I began to make illustrations and mini-comics as a fan that I shared with my schoolmates. These were the first drawings that encouraged me to pursue the dream of becoming a comic artist. With this book, we intend to pay tribute to that powerful era that was the 90s. The moment when superheroes looked better than ever with colorful tight-fitting spandex.”

The world you know has changed. Again! Relive the magic of the ’90s X-Men when X-MEN ’92: HOUSE OF XCII #1 hits stands in April.

Arctic Lake – Breathe

English alternative pop duo Arctic Lake is back with the emotionally bare single “Breathe,” out now via Astralwerks. The slow-burning, gently driving song, produced by member Paul Holliman, comes with a fittingly evocative and intimate video. Listen to “Breathe” HERE and watch the video HERE.

“Breathe” finds vocalist Emma Foster pleading with a partner who’s closed off, she’s desperate for more connection, feeling suffocated by the relationship’s limitations. Shimmering synths slink around her voice as she asks, “Can I find what’s underneath, won’t you let me know you?” Eventually, a rush of vibrating electronics takes over, but not without her slipping in one more simple request: “I’m just wanting you to hold me.” The video for “Breathe” feels just as personal, with Foster front and center against a blood-red background, her soul-baring lyrics projected right on her face, exposing every vulnerability.

“Breathe” follows 2021’s electro-kissed single “Lonely,” Arctic Lake’s “steamiest track yet” according to House of Solo. The duo also recently built up a following with a handful of collaborations, like their ZHU team-up “Yours“, which peaked at #16 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, as well as the feel-good track, “House Music” with German DJ Boris Brejcha, and “Road” with producer Lane 8. But “Breathe” builds on Arctic Lake’s more minimalist, sultry soundscapes, which Tongue Tied Magazine describes as “breathtaking, electromagnetic anthems” that are “simply unmatched.”

Arctic Lake’s blend of emotional songwriting and inventive production has won the attention of fans and critics since they self-released their debut single, “Limits,” in 2015. Since then, their following has grown to over 1 million monthly listeners on Spotify. As they prepare more new music for 2022, Arctic Lake is ready to lure more listeners into their colorful world.
