360 MAGAZINE NFT is now available on opensea

NFT.NYC ROUNDUP

NFTs are unique assets that cannot be replaced by any other programs, often checked and stored with blockchain technology. They can incorporate anything from music to a website domain. The current modern craze is all around digital art. This time 360 Magazine attended one of the largest NFT conferences in North America, NFT.NYC. This was a three-day event, featuring more than five hundred speakers from the crypto, blockchain, and NFT communities.

NFT.NYC 2021

NFT.NYC takes place in New York City. This is the third year running for the conference. We are elevated to attend and participate in this technological ceremony which anticipates the future of artistic creation and shopping. This event has gathered thousands of professionals in the field of NFT and had a 3-day commitment for the showcase and seminar. NFT is now being used in a wide range of scenarios, including art, travel, food, game, etc. As a result, the speakers are from all kinds of industries, We met 3LAU, who is a DJ from Las Vegas, Jan Bodden, who is an NFT gamer, and Gary Vee who is the CEO of VaynerX.

Spotlight Speaker: Gary Vee

Gary Vee is a Belarusian-American entrepreneur. He is well known for being the co-founder of the restaurant reservation software company Resy. Now, he is one of the pioneers in promoting and supporting the NFT. He has 2.5 million followers on Twitter, many of whom have been initiated into blockchain and NFT through his NFT – Vee Friends collection. It was a great pleasure to have the opportunity to meet him and hear his opinion on NFT.

While he is one of the earliest figures who has been investing and collecting the NFTs, he says that sometimes the technology can go over his head. Instead of focusing heavily on technology, he is more interested in how NFT will help and change people’s daily life. He is optimistic about the future of NFT, however, he still has his concern. He thinks that people are paying too much attention to the value and financial benefit NFT can bring while they ignore the importance of developing NFT itself as a product.

Alma Jimenez: Women in NFTs

Alma Jimenez is a Mexican American artist based out of New York. Alma recently made her own presentation at NFT NYC. Throughout the presentation, she introduces herself and her journey through the space of NFTs. In 2008, Alma funded the Vj Deliria project which is her longest art project to date. Through the project, Alma explores video art and glitch aesthetics. Alma’s NFTs are a reflection of the traditions that represent her heritage. Through Alma’s long term Vj Deliria project, she has been able to meet with a wide range of artists that have been able to help expand her art. Alma has now begun migrating to the metaverse with a mindset of building community, and specifically bringing the Latin American community with her on these new pursuits.

The first exhibition that Alma did in the metaverse was the Latin American Graffiti exhibition that featured a graffiti artist collective from Mexico City. The opening reception of the exhibition was featured in Clubhouse so that a group of artists could meet up in the metaverse and walk the gallery as one. From this first exhibition alone, Alma gathered over twenty-three artists to participate in this new coming of age metaverse experience.

In the following weeks of this exhibition, Alma was invited by Chile’s Ministry of Culture, Art and Heritage to talk about NFTs and crypto art, and the role that they play as a creative economy. Alma knew that she wanted to share this opportunity with other remarkable artists from Chile that were also creating in the NFT space. This exhibition that featured other distinguished Chilean artists was called Chile Diverso NFT. Following this crucial exhibition, they created an Opensea Collection, Oncyber gallery and Cryptovoxels exhibition. The next exhibition Alma curated is called NFTribu, which also translates to NFTribe. The exhibition is nomadic, and the groups move from galleries between differing metaverses. This unique exhibition showcases NFT art that is inspired by Pre-Columbian cultures, indigenous and native people from Latin America. The exhibition is ongoing, and Alma is always in search of more art to add to the exhibition.

Danny Cole: A Prodigy in Creature World

Danny Cole is a 21 years old American painter and interdisciplinary artist from New York City. He attended the NFT.NYC as one of the youngest artists with his art assembles Creature World. As he said: “The Creature World is this imaginary place that I like to visit and I’d like to give other people the opportunity to visit. There’s a real beauty in entering those alternative states, like dreaming.” He has achieved 26.3k trade-in volume on the biggest NFT trade market Opensea which has a net worth value of over one hundred million dollars. As a result, his works have even been mentioned with the same breath as Keith Haring.

NFT: Merging Verses

The future of fashion is the merging of two verses, the virtual world (metaverse) and the physical world. 360 Magazine this time was delighted to be the media partner of the NFT Project “Merging Verses”. We have launched this NFT at Paradise Club in Times Square Edition. Standing with the idea of women in NFT, we had our after-party featuring our NFT producer Bee Davies who is the founder of Hive Global Media. Paradise Club is an imaginative, chaotic, and highly productive show venue that fits perfectly in Times Square. With its colorful dancefloor and the wonderful performance of DJ RICH GREENE, it was such a huge success, and we were looking forward to our next collaboration! Along with this merge of spaces with NFTS, we are interested to see the trajectory and ultimate impact of NFTs in long-term culture. How will NFTs ultimately influence the way that society consumes food, purchases automobiles or even how we choose to travel? NFTs have already began becoming emerged into our everyday lives and can even change the way we decorate our homes. This integration of NFTs into our society and mainstream culture is something that we are interested in and curious to learn more about.

The Weeknd Dawn FM album cover art via Republic Records Media for use by 360 MAGAZINE

The Weeknd – Dawn FM

The Weeknd’s surprise album Dawn FM is leading the charts around the globe. Debuting at #1 Apple Music US and in 125 countries, and #1 Spotify US and worldwide. Dawn FM accumulates over 500 million streams to date. Listen to Dawn FM [XO/Republic Records] HERE.

Despite the release of the album coming suddenly, Dawn FM has been a smash hit. Dawn FM may just snatch up the spot as The Weeknd’s best album thus far. The single “Sacrifice” came out at #1 on Spotify US and global, while the collection The Highlights, too, ranks among the Billboard Top 10 at #6. Having two albums rank in the top ten is conventionally unheard of, a resounding accomplishment for The Weeknd.

Playing off the theme of an afterlife-esque radio station network, Dawn FM transforms viewers to a new universe. The abrupt announcement of the album ultimately worked in the favor of The Weeknd, with Dawn FM now ranking as his second global #1 album during the pandemic, following the renowned After Hours was released in March 2020, featuring the #1 All Time Hot 100 hit “Blinding Lights.”

Dawn FM has gained quick critical acclaim, registering The Weeknd’s leading aggregate score on Metacritic at ’88.’ Variety spoke on the album, stating, “After Hours has resonated for nearly two years after its release, and in the face of another phase of a daunting pandemic, it seems that Dawn FM – possibly The Weeknd’s best and most fully realized album to date – will help carry fans through this one as well.” Rolling Stone, too, raved about Dawn FM, rating it “4-out-of-5 stars, The Weeknd focuses those interstellar ambitions to anoint us with the most enchanting music to the portal through purgatory.”

Dawn FM sees features from Tyler, the Creator, Lil Wayne, Quincy Jones, Oneohtrix Point Never and Jim Carrey.

If you haven’t listened to this album yet, you are truly missing out on a sonic, one-of-a-experience by the superstar himself, The Weeknd.

Fentanyl Petition

Families Against Fentanyl announced it had surpassed 25,000 signers of its petition asking the United States government to declare illicit fentanyl a Weapon of Mass Destruction (WMD). They join a who’s who of bipartisan leaders who are calling for the WMD designation.

The milestone was achieved in the aftermath of CDC data released in 2021 projecting that more than 100,000 people died of drug-related causes in the previous calendar year, and following data unearthed by Families Against Fentanyl in December that found illicit fentanyl to be the #1 cause of death for Americans between the ages of 18 and 45—data that have been independently verified.  The announcement also comes on the heels of three Connecticut middle school students being hospitalized for fentanyl overdose after being exposed at their school. One of those students, a 13-year-old, has died.

Even more alarming: fentanyl’s extreme potency gives it the dark potential to be used by terrorists in a chemical attack on American citizens. Declaring illicit fentanyl a WMD would trigger an all-of-government response to this national threat, activating new resources and manpower to tackle this unprecedented danger.

“Fentanyl deaths doubled in just two years and it’s now the number one cause of death of Americans 18-45. Bold action is needed to reverse this trend,” Families Against Fentanyl founder James Rauh stated. “With more than 25,000 people adding their names to our petition, it’s now crystal clear: Americans are fed up with the status quo. They also see the potential a WMD designation would have to stop this poison from flooding our country and killing our loved ones. Declaring illicit fentanyl a WMD is the innovative answer to this crisis—it would allow us to root out the international manufacturers and traffickers of this poison before it reaches our streets. It would cut the smuggling of illicit fentanyl into the United States, enhance penalties for the cartels trafficking in this poison, and provide new protections to the American people from this threat.

“Almost all illicit fentanyl is manufactured outside of the United States. Designating illegal fentanyl as a Weapon of Mass Destruction will empower the U.S. to shift from a policy of mass incarceration of Americans to an all-of-government approach to cut off the supply chain at its source, effectively stopping the flow of this poison into our country. Meanwhile, we can provide compassionate care to those struggling with addiction by investing in harm reduction, expanding access to affordable rehabilitation programs, mental health counseling, and holistic care options.”

The Families Against Fentanyl petition will ultimately be presented to the Biden Administration and the U.S. Congress.

About Families Against Fentanyl

Families Against Fentanyl was founded in 2019 by Akron, Ohio resident James Rauh and his wife Valorie following the untimely death of their son Tom from fentanyl poisoning.

GLAAD Nominees

GLAAD, the world’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) media advocacy organization, announced the nominees for the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards. RuPaul’s Drag Race Season 13 finalist Gottmik announced nominees in select GLAAD Media Awards categories live via GLAAD’s TikTok channel.

The GLAAD Media Awards honor media for fair, accurate, and inclusive representations of LGBTQ people and issues. Since its inception in 1990, the GLAAD Media Awards have grown to be the most visible annual LGBTQ awards show in the world, sending powerful messages of acceptance to audiences globally. The 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards are presented by Gilead Sciences, Inc. and Ketel One Family Made Vodka.

For a full list of nominees, see below or HERE. A tip sheet with a breakdown of nominations by media and trends among the nominees is available HERE

The 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards nominees were published, released, or broadcast between January 1 and December 31, 2021. The GLAAD Media Awards ceremonies, which fund GLAAD’s work to accelerate LGBTQ acceptance, will be held in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday, April 2, 2022, and in New York at the Hilton Midtown on Friday, May 6, 2022.

“Media can create positive change and this year’s nominees represent powerful projects, stories, and creators that positively shifted culture and enlightened audiences with new and impactful LGBTQ stories,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “There are more nominees this year than ever before, highlighting a growing landscape of LGBTQ visibility, and serving as a reminder of the critical role that film, television, music, journalism, and other forms of media can play in growing LGBTQ acceptance in the face of ongoing attacks against our community.”

Streaming services saw a total of 63 nominees, with cable receiving 39 nominations, and broadcast networks receiving 17 nominations. HBO/HBO Max scored the most nominations of any network with a total of 19 nominees, followed by Netflix with 17 nominees. Hulu received 7 nominations, while ABC, MSNBC, and Peacock all received 4 nominations. In the Spanish-language categories, Univision and Telemundo both received two nominations.

During a year when anti-transgender violence rose and lawmakers across the U.S. introduced an unprecedented number of bills attempting to stop transgender youth from participating in sports and accessing gender-affirming healthcare, many of the nominees at the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards centered on transgender people and issues in timely, nuanced, and empowering ways. As LGBTQ representation continues to expand across television and streaming, the Outstanding New TV Series recognizes scripted comedy or drama series in their first season that include impactful LGBTQ stories. The Outstanding Original Graphic Novel/Anthology category recognizes an original graphic novel or an anthology of short stories appearing in the same book released by a mainstream publisher and its subsidiary labels.

“After decades of LGBTQ characters being excluded, sidelined, or misrepresented on television, it is incredibly powerful to see how many series introduced fresh, impactful, and fully developed LGBTQ characters and storylines in their first season, many of which were some of the most beloved shows of the year,” said GLAAD President & CEO Sarah Kate Ellis. “The introduction of the Outstanding New TV Series category recognizes the shows and creators getting LGBTQ inclusion right from the beginning and encourages other showrunners to include LGBTQ characters and stories that enlighten and entertain in new projects.”

Each year, GLAAD presents non-competitive Special Recognition Awards to media projects that do not fit into one of the existing GLAAD Media Awards categories. For the 33rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, GLAAD is presenting Special Recognition honors to eight media projects that spotlighted diverse segments of the LGBTQ community in innovative ways. Captain of America Symbol of Truth Cover art via R.B. Silva for Marvel Comics for use by 360 Magazine

New Captain America Comics

Announced earlier in an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly, 2022 will mark a new age of Captain America, one that will launch two Captain America ongoing titles. Writers Jackson Lanzing and Collin Kelly and Marvel’s Stormbreaker artist Carmen Carnero will tell the adventures of Steve Rogers in CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY while writer Tochi Onyebuchi and Marvel Stormbreaker artist R.B. Silva will see Sam Wilson soar as Captain America once again in CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH. The journeys of both shield bearers will begin in April’s “CAPTAIN AMERICA #0” where they will team up after an explosive attack by Arnim Zola. Fans can get a sneak peek at the action that awaits in a celebratory new announcement trailer, featuring never-before-seen artwork.

“Issue #0 is effectively a conversation between Steve and Sam about what it means for both of them to be Captain America simultaneously,” Lanzing explained to Entertainment Weekly. “But that conversation isn’t had in a room sitting down over beers, that conversation is had while flying/holding onto the side of a massive rocket heading into the sky to obliterate all of mankind because Arnim Zola is back and he’s got a bad plan.”

“We’ve seen Sam Wilson deal with the legacy of Captain America and race in very inward terms with regards to America: What does it mean for America to accept a Black Captain America?” Onyebuchi says. “One of the things I’m teasing in my book is, what does it mean for the rest of the world to accept a Black Captain America? That’s another part of the equation. If Captain America is in many ways a mimesis of America, with all the good and bad pathologies, what does that mean for the way in which America interacts with the rest of the world?”

“With our story, what we really wanted to start looking at was, how has America changed? What does it mean to be a patriot now?” Kelly added. “Cap can’t turn his back on America, neither of the Caps can, because the idea is good. The core is good and worth fighting for, but both need to wrestle with what that means in the year of our Lord 2022.”

Check out Mark Brooks‘ CAPTAIN AMERICA #0 wraparound cover below as well as the covers for the debut issues of CAPTAIN AMERICA: SYMBOL OF TRUTH and CAPTAIN AMERICA: SENTINEL OF LIBERTY. And be there for this pivotal moment in Captain America’s legacy when it begins in April.

It’s available via Beatstaz/Amigo Records/Republic Records.

I ain’t have it easy believe me. However, her fierce flow accelerates towards a bold declaration, “I’m the hottest in the game, yeah I said it.It illuminates another side of the rising rapper.

It also serves as the perfect counterpoint to her recently released self-titled single “Big Boss Vette. Right out of the gate, HotNewHipHop described it as “filled with upbeat bass as Vette’s personality and charisma take the lead, before adding, “it will keep her name stuck in your head.

Stay tuned for more music soon!

Popping up everywhere, she also revealed the cinematic visual for “Eater,” inciting a flurry of activity online. It earned plugs from 4 Sho Magazine and Consequence of Sound hailing the single as a “lively take on New Orleans bounce music,” calling Big Boss Vette “one to watch”.

Meanwhile, “Make Em Mad” soundtracked an episode of HBO’s EMMY® Award-nominated Insecure from creator Issa Rae. It played during a key scene of episode 2 from the farewell season 5. Big Boss Vette excitedly broke the news on social media.

No stranger to making bangers, Vette put numbers on the boards with independent tracks such as “Bad Bitch,” “Outside,” “No Fakin,” “Make Em Mad,” and more. This year, she caught the attention of Republic Records and signed to the label.

Now, she’s got even more heat on deck. You’ve been warned. There’s a new boss in town.

About Big Boss Vette
Big Boss Vette asserts herself as a bright, blunt, and bold force for hip-hop with unapologetic bars, undeniable style, and a fiery flow of her own. The St. Louis rapper and singer lights up any room and instantly commands attention. As a kid, Big Boss Vette told everyone, “I want to be a rapper,” and she made good on her promise. She regularly uploaded remixes to YouTube and attracted an audience. However, trouble followed her everywhere—until she got shot. Changing the course of her life, she served up “Bad Bitch” in 2019 and racked up 1.7 million YouTube views. A year later, “Outside” exploded. Following a much-liked teaser video, her TikTok followers demanded the full version, and she delivered. It lit up TikTok with countless anime creates and support from Chlöe Bailey. At the same time, it generated 8 million Spotify streams and 2 million YouTube views. During 2021, she picked up the pace with “No Fakin,” “Dog Ass *****,” and more. Along the way, she attracted the attention of Republic Records and landed a deal with the label. After raking in over 30 million total streams independently, she bosses up on a series of singles led by “Eater.”

Bob Moses Announces New Album

GRAMMY® Award-winning duo Bob Moses have announced the upcoming release of their highly anticipated third album, The Silence in Between. Due out March 4, The Silence in Between will mark the Los Angeles-based band’s first release since signing to Astralwerks in a unique global partnership with Domino Recording Co. In celebration of the album announcement, Bob Moses have also shared their exhilarating new single “Love Brand New.

One of the most anthemic moments on The Silence in Between, “Love Brand New” finds Vancouver-bred musicians/producers Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance tapping into their deep-rooted love for ’90s alt-rock and left-of-center dance music. Written with Michel Zitron and John Martin (a Swedish production duo known for their work with the likes of Avicii and Swedish House Mafia), the track encompasses a glorious collision of moody guitar tones, mercurial textures, and wildly propulsive beats as Bob Moses channel the dizzying euphoria of new romance. Billboard declares, “Love Brand New” is a dark, brooding slow build that pulsates with moody lust, growls power riffs and shows off a heavier sound for the duo.”

“‘Love Brand New’ is about being newly in love and trying not to lose yourself as you navigate the world feeling as though you’re seeing everything for the first time, as if it’s brand new,” Bob Moses reveal. “It was written with our friends Michel Zitron and John Martin and started in L.A. just before Coachella in 2019. We knew there was something there, but touring intervened. We finally got back to it in 2020, and it became one of the first finished for our new album. We shot the video in a freezing warehouse in Montreal this past December — we look warm though.”

Directed by photographer/director Adrian Villagomez and Derek Branscombe, the video for “Love Brand New” unfolds as Bob Moses deliver a frenetic performance within that warehouse, fully embodying the track’s explosive vitality. Meanwhile, the intimately shot visual cycles through a series of tender vignettes featuring an eclectic cast of characters from all walks of life. The result is a gorgeously cinematic piece, at turns electrifying and profoundly moving.

Also featuring their recent single “Time And Time Again (a November release accompanied by a spellbinding video), The Silence in Between follows Bob Moses’ JUNO Award-nominated 2020 project Desire and marks their first full-length since Battle Lines (a 2018 effort featuring the hit single “Back Down”). The duo’s past efforts also include their 2015 debut album Days Gone By, featuring such standouts as “Tearing Me Up” — a top 15 US Alternative radio hit nominated for two GRAMMY® Awards, with a remix from RAC winning in the category of Best Remix Recording (Non-Classical). As their boldest and most viscerally charged output to date, The Silence in Between amplifies the unbridled energy that’s made Bob Moses a repeat winner of Resident Advisor’s Best Live Act prize.

Soon after the arrival of The Silence in Between, Bob Moses will embark on a headlining tour of North America. Kicking off on March 20 in Tucson, Arizona, the 25-date run will continue through May 21 in Vancouver, with stops at such iconic venues as The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles and The Warfield in San Francisco. Later this year, Bob Moses will head overseas for tour dates at Melkweg in Amsterdam and KOKO in London. See below for the full itinerary.

ABOUT BOB MOSES

Since forming in New York City in 2012, Bob Moses have earned massive acclaim for their transcendent blend of house music and emotionally charged pop. Made up of Vancouver-bred musicians/producers Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance, the Los Angeles-based duo delivered their debut album Days Gone By in 2015 and immediately drew praise from tastemaking outlets like Mixmag (who stated that “[i]t’s hard to think of anyone who walks the line between electro-pop and deep dancefloor grooves quite as coolly as Tom Howie and Jimmy Vallance”). Days Gone By featured such standouts as “Tearing Me Up”: an intensely poignant track nominated for two GRAMMY® Awards, with a remix from RAC winning in the category of Best Remix Recording (Non-Classical). In 2018, Bob Moses returned with Battle Lines, which featured the hit single “Back Down” and led to a performance on “Ellen.” Hailed by The Line of Best Fit as “versatile, dynamic party music, made by masters of their craft,” Battle Lines also landed on Billboard’s Best Electronic Albums of 2018 list. The duo’s most recent triumphs include 2019’s Unplugged EP, Falling into Focus – Live 2020 (a concert film documenting an hour-long set performed at an abandoned radio tower in Topanga, California), and Desire (a JUNO Award-nominated 2020 project that PopMatters lauded as “exceptional, its classic trance rhythms crafted with a sense of multidimensionality”). A longtime festival favorite, Bob Moses have also repeatedly claimed the Best Live Act title from Resident Advisor, appearing at leading festivals like Coachella, TomorrowWorld, Lollapalooza, Ultra Music Festival, and Bonnaroo. Newly signed to Astralwerks in partnership with Domino Recordings, the duo will release their highly anticipated third album The Silence in Between on March 4

Top Five Innovations In Motorcycle Safety And Protective Gear

Motorcycle drivers are more at risk of experiencing collisions than regular road vehicles. Due to the sheer small size of motorcycles, they are less visible to motorists and pedestrians, especially in bad weather conditions, such as rainy or foggy weather.

The high likelihood of collision or accidents when owning a motorcycle has led to more motorcycle drivers and owners relying on motorcycle accident lawyers to assist with insurance claims and court dates. Topresearched.com compiles a stringent list of top motorcycle lawyers.

Due to the high possibility of accidents and grievous bodily harm when riding a motorcycle, protective gear is essential.

Here are five top recent innovations in motorcycle safety and protection.

Smart Helmets

Manufacturers have consistently improved in strengthening the quality and durability of motorcycle helmets. Now they incorporate mandatory artificial intelligence (AI), features that assist a driver in avoiding a collision or recording the scene in the case of a crash.

Smart motorcycle helmets now have built-in GPS systems and built-in rear-end cameras. The built-in cameras also assist motorcyclists in their insurance claims, proving that the driver is not responsible for the collision.

Vests And Jackets With Airbags

Motorcycle clothing has evolved from leather jackets, ripped jeans, and bandanas. Protective apparel nowadays incorporates airbag technology in motorcyclists’ vests and jackets. The airbags have built-in sensors programmed to deploy to protect the chest and other vital organs immediately once they detect an impact.

In addition to clothing, the motorcycle industry has also introduced flexible impact technology in riding boots. These new boots absorb impact shock while adding extra layers of protection in case of an accident or a minor fall.

Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS)

The anti-lock braking system, or ABS, is borrowed from the motor vehicle industry. The system allows the motorcycle’s brakes to pump during a sudden stop or halt from high speed and hence eliminates the locking of the wheels. The ABS gives the driver substantially more control over the steering and navigation of the vehicle.

LED Lighting

Aside from adding decorative features to the motorcycle, LED lighting assists motorcyclists in being more visible while on the road. The lights are most beneficial when used in dark or unclear conditions and during bad weather, potentially obscuring the motorists’ views. Recently designed helmets often come equipped with LED lights that help improve the driver’s view of the road and terrain.

Automated Clutches And Stability Control

As with operating a motor vehicle, changing gears, accelerating, or braking at high speeds or during high traffic can cause motorists to be distracted and lose focus on the road.

In response to the need for stability control, motorcycle manufacturers now incorporate stability controls to monitor the traction control and lean angle data. The data will determine the right amount of power or braking needed for the motorcycle to retain stability.

These five innovative ideas in the motorcycle industry have contributed significantly to the noticeable decrease in accidents involving motorcycles on and off the road.

Troubleshooting Smart Home Tech

While Still Working from Home

It’s been almost two years since the COVID-19 pandemic forced many businesses to shift their physical models and adapt to a remote, virtual environment. Now in 2022, the rise of Omicron variant cases has resulted in offices sending their employees back to work from home again. A recent [1]survey from Assurant shows that full time work from home activity is expected to increase by 33% as the pandemic continues, tripled from 11% when the pandemic began.

This upward trend in work from home culture also comes with an upward trend in smart home device connectivity, particularly right after the holidays when people want to work simultaneously with their new smart televisions, smart speakers, and other devices operating in the background. Renters and homeowners alike have even opted for smart home appliances and amenities included with the property, as the demand for smart home technology increased by [2]nearly 25% at the end of 2021 and is expected to accelerate throughout the next few years.

Even with new smart home technology products presented at the recent CES® 2022, troubleshooting these devices when not working properly can be stressful, especially when the company’s IT department can’t come to the home environment.

How Do I Go About Troubleshooting My Devices?

As the first instinct of many would be trying to fix the problem themselves or going directly to the device manufacturer, there are simple steps one can take, while not interrupting workflow at the same time.  To ensure smooth connectivity in every corner of the home, one should start by keeping a close eye on issues shown by the existing Wi-Fi router, such as web pages loading slowly or video playback constantly buffering.

If the router frequently displays issues with the network, the user should consider adding a Wi-Fi range extender in the home to increase the wireless bandwidth across different rooms. This would be an extreme help for company video meetings and software capabilities even when two people in the same household are both working at the same time.

When connecting a new smart device to the Wi-Fi network, one should also check the speed of the device and adjust the positioning accordingly where the internet connection is the strongest in the home. The existing service provider may even offer additional bandwidth options increase the desired connectivity as best as possible.

The Future of Support

No matter the device or the problem, troubleshooting can be time-consuming and hinder work productivity. Just imagine how a client would feel if one were struggling to join a video meeting or email a report that was due an hour ago. Support needs to be similar to an Amazon retail model in streamlining a one-stop shop to troubleshoot any smart home device without ever having to go to the manufacturer.

Whether it’s learning how to set up, connect, or get the most out of a particular device, tech support needs to be humanized to make it as convenient and comprehensive as possible for the person to understand. No one should have to still wait to get a response from an online ticket request they filled out days ago or wait on hold for hours just to speak to someone in a foreign country with a language barrier.

Consumers need to feel confident in the products they purchase, and companies need the assurance from their employees of working through these difficulties to keep their own products and services afloat.

Even though the work from home culture with the pandemic is continuing, it doesn’t mean old tech support ways have to.
