Asiahn – Fall Back

R&B singer/songwriter Asiahn turns up the heat while taking it slow on her sultry new single, Fall Back, out today. Since the 80s / Motown Records. The track, an age-old tale of falling too hard and too fast, comes alongside a wine-soaked video that follows the intimate push-and-pull between two not-yet-official lovers. Watch the video.

As she’s proven before, Asiahn has a keen ability to dissect every emotion and stage of romance with a vulnerability that’s immediately felt. On Fall Back she boldly takes the reins, and sounds more convincing than ever. I just want to drive you crazy, she teases, over sizzling synth, bursts of sax, and glistening harp. But she’s not here to seduceߞnot yet.

Remarkably, Asiahn wrote Fall Back in about 15 minutes alongside producer Dreek Beatz. The story behind the song is, well, true, she laughs. I know we’ve all been in a situation where we’re trying to get to know someone casually. Then, of course, she falls in love anyways. It’s a song telling that person to fall back, you doing too much. Let’s just get to know each other and see if getting serious is even something we want to do. The video shows that conversation in action, from flirty Post-it notes to a playfully tipsy tete-a-tete.

A fan of all things futuristic and tech, Asiahn has teamed up with Verizon, Capitol Music Group (CMG) and Motown Records to give fans a new way to experience a music video. Using the ASIAHN app, fans can extend Asiahn’s “Fall Back” music video into their living rooms with Augmented Reality (AR). As the video plays on their TV or laptop, they can toggle between an ambient AR experience that plays in sync with the video and a volumetric capture (360-degree capture) of Asiahn dancing to her song in their room. The ASIAHN app, available September 29th on the Google Play and Apple ap stores, is the second project in Verizon and Capitol Music Group/Motown’s Emerging Tech and Emerging Artist Series.

Fall Back continues the Los Angeles-based artist’s transition from lovesick songstress to empowered star, as showcased on her Motown debut, The Interlude EP, released earlier this year. The EP debuted on multiple Billboard charts and earned Asiahn Billboard‘s Emerging Artist Spotlight, started at #33 on Apple Music Charts, and received support from fans and critics like Halle Berry, Lena Waithe, Keke Palmer, to American Songwriter Essence,Nylon,Refinery29, MarieClaire, and many more.

Asiahn will also be playing the title character in the upcoming Netflix animated series, Karma’s World, created by Ludacris. The show tells the story of a girl finding her voice and using it to change the world. Sounds like the ideal role for this 3x-Grammy-nominated talent who continues her steady rise, which includes being named Pandora’s Artist to Watch 2021, participating in Live Nation’s Black History Month, and Tidal Sessions performances.

Following the original release, Issam teamed up with Loud Luxury and Ali Gatie on their collaboration “Turning Me Up (Hadal Ahbek),” which has 22 million-plus Spotify streams to date. About Issam Alnajjar

Issam Alnajjar is leading the way for a new generation of artists from the Middle East and North Africa to take over the global music scene. An 18-year-old musician from Amman, Jordan, he had been creating music for a couple of years, studying the songwriting of pop artists like Shawn Mendes and Ed Sheeran and admiring the creativity of iconic artists like Queen and The Weeknd, when he got some inspiration for his breakout hit “Hadal Ahbek.” After dropping a preview video for the song on Instagram, anticipation from his fans grew larger and larger. By the time he finally released “Hadal Ahbek,” with Issam’s silky voice and infectious lyrics and melody, the popularity of it exceeded his expectations. Issam says he had only expected 10k views total for his song. That was shattered in one day, and eventually it grew to 100k views a week. And on TikTok, the song only grew bigger and now currently sits atop dozens of music charts on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezer. For any artist to have a top song is an accomplishment. But what makes Issam’s feat more incredible is that he achieved this with a song sung in Arabic.

Mauro Colagreco at The Maybourne Riviera

Chef Mauro Colagreco at The Maybourne Riviera: A marine immersion

Chef Mauro Colagreco will take the helm of two dedicated restaurants within The Maybourne Riviera. The soon-to-be-launched hotel joins London’s iconic Claridge’s, The Connaught and The Berkeley as part of the Maybourne Hotel Group. The restaurants will hold pole positions within the strikingly modernist hotel, built on a rocky peninsula high above the town of Roquebrune-Cap-Martin.

His flagship will be Ceto, focusing on the sea and will open on Saturday 9th October. Located on the hotel’s top floor with dramatic panoramic views out over the Mediterranean, it is a true parallel between the sky and sea and will reflect Mauro’s ambition and passion. However, Ceto will be more than just a restaurant, but also a ‘marine culinary workshop’ to deepen knowledge of the region’s aquatic species and research sustainable ecological solutions.

Dishes will play with texture, flavour and cooking processes, with the grill the centrepiece of the restaurant’s open kitchen. The menu will represent the whole of the Mediterranean according to the seasons, using not only fish and shellfish but will include ingredients such as seaweed, sea herbs, samphire, sea fennel, sea cucumber and snails. Sample dishes include Red Tuna – matured belly with Kombu seaweed, XO sauce; Red Scorpionfish – grilled cèpes, roasted Cévennes onion sauce and Monkfish – kale on the embers, bread crust sauce. A selection of vegetarian and pasture-fed meat dishes will also be offered, such as tiger veal reared by the sea in Corsica.

The restaurant will also house a maturation chamber for research and development. This will allow the team to deepen its methods of preserving fish and prolong its maturation by allowing all the flavour and texture to develop in the meat. Each species will be studied individually, and the entire fish used whenever possible (skin, fins, bones and eyes).

Mauro aims to bring this approach and his expertise to help change perspectives on fishing. He desires to shake up traditional codes: the distance and depth of fishing, seasonality, the use of the maturation chamber, anti-waste and the collaboration with renowned scientists.

The décor of Ceto restaurant has been created by architect-designer Marcelo Joulia, with tableware specially sourced and pieces created exclusively by local artists and artisan producers.

In addition, Mauro will also oversee the venue on the ground floor of the hotel. The Riviera Restaurant, already opened on the 22nd of September, offers regional gastronomy in its simplest form. Available for lunch, dinner, snacks or coffees and teas throughout the day, menus naturally retrace the region’s local gastronomic history: from Genoa to Saint Tropez, between mountain and sea. His creations will highlight regional specialities with the greatest respect for the product, season and producer. From Niçoise salad, Spaghetti alla Genovese, grilled fish, sun-soaked vegetables in olive oil, and the famous sweet-tart, Tropézienne, dishes are colourful and cooked simply to reflect the area’s rich variety.

Already established on the Cote D’Azur at his three Michelin starred Mirazur in Menton, Mauro is a cook unrestrained by borders and one who sets his own culinary rules. This ambitious project is a further opportunity for the globally acclaimed chef to showcase his culinary vision and continue to place the region at the forefront of the international gastronomic scene. At The Maybourne Riviera, he will mix this with one of his favourite playgrounds, the sea and hopefully, through careful participation, will help safeguard the diversity of its marine heritage.

“I am extremely proud to be a player in this unique project in The Maybourne Riviera and with a hotel group recognised around the world for its quality and excellence. It is a wonderful setting for guests to enjoy all that is so exceptional about this area of the Mediterranean.”

Ferraro’s White Truffle Festival

White truffle season comes to Ferraro’s Italian Restaurant & Wine Bar beginning October 1 through December 31. Ferraro’s announces nightly truffle specials and Nebbiolo wine pairing during which guests will savor one of the season’s most indulgent ingredients—Italian white truffles.
Italian white truffles are widely regarded as the most exquisite of all truffles. Their season runs typically from late October to late December. Truffles grow in the wild, where they enjoy a symbiotic relationship with mature oak, beech and hazelnut trees, from which they draw carbohydrates while growing underground. For this reason, truffles cannot be cultivated. That fact, together with their unmistakably rich and umami-filled flavor, makes truffles a universally rare and sought-after ingredient.

Tracy Sugarman’s Works Offered at Auction

“AND ALL THAT JAZZ”! WORKS BY TRACY SUGARMAN – ARTIST TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY, TO BE OFFERED AT AUCTION

September 2021. Artworks by the American illustrator, Tracy Sugarman (1921-2013), who documented some of the most momentous events in American history, such as Mississippi’s Freedom Summer of 1964 (a milestone in the civil rights movement in America) and images of World War II, will be offered in Dreweatts Modern and Contemporary Art sale on October 12, 2021.

As well as encapsulating historical moments in a unique way, Sugarman illustrated hundreds of books and record covers in a career spanning 50 years. The group of works coming up for auction spotlights Sugarman’s work for the music industry. Between 1954 and 1959 he produced more than a hundred album covers for the record labels Grand Award and Waldorf Music Hall Records. These were later reissued on CDS.

While carrying out his commissions for the music industry he was given complete artistic freedom to create the works as he wished. Commenting he said: “I had been able to explore every medium from scratch-board to oils, from pastels to watercolors and seen them reproduced. I had captured Mahalia Jackson singing gospel and Knuckles O’Toole playing ragtime piano.” A work in 2007 marked the beginning of a lifelong love affair with jazz and the works in this sale show how he creatively captures the spirit and energy of Jazz.

Mufasa × Hypeman × Dopamine

Following the runaway success of the viral single “Friday”–which has garnered a staggering half a billion streams, shot to the Top 5 in the UK and been certified platinum with over 750,000 UK sales – the exciting duo Mufasa & Hypeman recently teamed up again with DJ/producer collective Dopamine for their new single ‘Weekend’ via Ministry Of Sound Recordings/RCA Records. They release the video for the single which sees Mufasa & Hypeman travelling back in time to an ‘80s house party with a special throwback performance from Dopamine.

The Alexander Lamburini directed visual is the perfect pairing for the infectious single “Weekend” which was released in time for the August Bank Holiday weekend and offers a sprinkling of nostalgia with its reworking of Madonna’s 80s pop classic “Holiday.” Hypeman & Mufasa, with Dopamine on production and vocals, have set the agenda for many weekends to come with the addictive track that has already racked up over two million streams since release and been added to playlists on Capital FM and Kiss FM and received numerous plays on Radio 1 Dance Anthems.

Speaking on the single, Mufasa said: “We wanted to do something different and pay homage to Madonna with the 80s classic song, ‘Holiday’ but with our little twist. We decided to declare the weekend a Holiday because who doesn’t love the weekend?” Hypeman said: “We always try to be better than our last and with this new single, I know we did just that. Creating the weekend was not only fun for us, but relatable for everyone around the world” Dopamine vocalist Sam Harper added: ‘It feels like the right time to bring joy to the world by getting everybody back on the dancefloor. We’ve been working hard to capture that energy in our records and can’t wait to see everyone’s reactions.” Dopamine DJ, Ethan Porte added: “I can’t wait to start playing this one in my sets. If ‘Friday’ is anything to go by, people are going to love this one”

Mufasa & Hypeman are the unlikely duo that shot to global fame following the release of their iconic viral adaptation of MK’s legendary remix for Nightcrawlers’ club classic ‘Push The Feeling On’. The video has spread joy to millions of people around the world during lockdown and became an instant hit on TikTok with the likes of Katy Perry, Kanye West and Gordon Ramsay paving the way for a challenge which would see tens of thousands of people get involved. The viral video was also picked up by BBC’s The One Show and featured as part of Radio 1 Greg James’ Lockdown Awards.

Dopamine is the brainchild of a set of visionary music producers who have produced multi-platinum smashes across the globe under various other guises and have dominated the charts with feel-good, club-ready dance records. The DJ/producer collective also includes vocalist Sam Harper who also provided the vocals for the last smash single “Friday”.

Michael Brun – Ocho

Michael Brun Teams Up with Fuego, Ms. Nina, and LASTMONDAY on Club Centric Ocho which is out September 15. Follows the recent release with Ms. Nina & LASTMONDAY – ‘Sammy Sosa’. Buy / Stream – ‘Ocho’ (ft. Fuego, Ms Nina, LASTMONDAY)

‘Rasanbleman,’ Haitian-Creole for, to gather, has been Latin Grammy winner Michael Brun’s focus for the better part of the last decade; uniting artists from across the world to celebrate and come together on global beats. As music has flowed from Africa, across the Caribbean into Latin America, so too has the Haitian-born Brun, collaborating with artists from across the musical spectrum, a list that runs from Nigerian Mr. Eazi to Columbia’s J Balvin, Benin’s Shirazee to Jersey Club queen Uniiqu3.

Brun’s mission as a Haitian artist has been to define his homeland, not by tragedy or despair, but by the richness of its culture, the pride, and resilience of its people, and the beauty of its music. In the wake of another devastating earthquake in Haiti, this mission takes on renewed urgency.

His newest two-track release, written several months ago, is a celebration of the connection between club culture, Afro-Caribbean beats, and the contemporary Latin scene, and sees Brun working with the fiercely talented rapper Ms. Nina, who has bridged the divide between her homeland of Argentina and Spain with a new take on reggaeton, remix and rap star Fuego, and the Bronx-Born Dominican artist LASTMONDAY. On Ocho, the collaborations with LASTMONDAY and Fuego, who attended school in the DR, were particularly important for Brun, to celebrate what unites, rather than divides, Haiti and the Dominican Republic.

The high-energy reggaeton club music of Tego Calderon and Daddy Yankee dominated the sound systems and parties of Haiti when Brun was learning to DJ and produce as a teenager. Sammy Sosa and Ocho are a nod to those Haitian club roots but undertaken with a global lens, a follow up to Brun’s Melanin EP last year, using the richness of experiences and interactions Brun has enjoyed in the last decade producing and DJing around the world. This revisionist approach was something Brun saw in all his collaborators; LASTMONDAY’s reggaeton flips of old school hip-hop, Fuego’s pioneering trapchata discography, and re-imagining of Caribbean classics like Gyptian’s ‘Hold Yuh’ and Ms. Nina’s Neoperreo take on Latin club music.

Sammy Sosa and Ocho are tracks made to dance too, to bring people together. People need this, even in moments of darkness and tragedy. My activism in Haiti is always ongoing, but as an artist, I also want to push Haitian culture forward at a global level, and this release does this through the universal language of club culture.”

Ocho is out today to kick off the start of Latin Heritage Month.
