Caleb Lee Hutchinson new song – Slot Machine Syndrome

“The Brent Cobb-produced project sees Hutchinson breaking down barriers”

“if there is anyone who has been authentic from the get-go, it’s Hutchinson”

“The project’s title track shows a more grown-up, more defined talent, blessed with a gritty baritone that has some shades of Sturgill Simpson. The title tune is a three-quarter time ballad with lots of walking bass and guitar lines, about a guy who ‘feels just fine, puttin’ it on the line’ when it comes to gambling with his heart”

“Caleb Lee Hutchinson flaunts some major songwriting maturity”

“Twangy and swampy – and undeniably country”

Nashville-based, Americana-tinged Country artist Caleb Lee Hutchinson has released “Slot Machine Syndrome,” the title track from the forthcoming Brent Cobb-produced EP. Hutchinson and Cobb teamed up to co-write the new song which premiered exclusively via Taste of Country last week who says Hutchinson “flaunts some major songwriting maturity” on the new track and Rolling Stone Country adds that the new release showcases a “more grown-up, more defined” Hutchinson.

“Slot Machine Syndrome” follows the release of “Who I Am,” a song that addresses Hutchinson’s past, and what people think they know about the singer/songwriter. “A lot of people see me as this 18-year-old kid that has no clue what to do with his life,” Hutchinson told American Songwriter, “this song is a perfect way of saying, ‘here’s what I am; here’s what I do. You can love it; you can hate it, but here’s what it is.’”

The new collection of music will release wide on September 17. Ahead of the release, Hutchinson will be playing a handful of dates including his first headlining performance in Nashville at Brooklyn Bowl on August 29.

Slot Machine Syndrome marks the beginning of a bold new chapter for the singer-songwriter, full of outsider’s pride and the sense of bold conviction shared by his heroes. It’s a chapter where he is finally the author of his own story.

Produced by Grammy-nominated Americana talent Brent Cobb, the set moves hard country’s bleeding edge into a new, modern era, with one of Nashville’s most dynamic vocalists embracing a grittier version of himself.

With his second EP, Slot Machine Syndrome, the rising star plants a flag deep into his Southern roots – standing proudly apart from the country mainstream proving his talent goes beyond what fans thought they knew.

Auto Pleyella via Dreweatts Auctioneers for use by 360 Magazine

Dreweatts Auctions David Winston’s Pianos

Dreweatts auctioneers is thrilled to offer the private collection of David Winston, Restorer and Conservator of Pianos to HM the Queen. The collection includes 26 exceptionally rare and important pianos dating from the 18th century to present day. This landmark sale will take place on Thursday, September 23rd, 2021.

Amongst those expected to achieve the highest bids is a rare 1925 Pleyel grand piano fitted with an original ‘Auto Pleyela’ self-playing mechanism, in a spectacular Chinoiserie Louis XV case (estimate £30,000-50,000) and a remarkable double piano from Pleyel, which is one of only 50 ever made. This model, which has a guide price of £40,000-£60,000, was once owned by the concert pianist wife of French writer and minister of culture André Malraux.

Speaking about the sale, Will Richards, Deputy Chairman of Dreweatts said, “It is rare to see so many exquisite pianos together in one sale. We are proud to offer such an outstanding collection of instruments of such quality, history and craftsmanship. It is also very exciting, as this is the first time the collection has been offered in its entirety. Spanning three centuries of craftsmanship and innovation, this is a historic sale and a wonderful opportunity to own a piece of piano history.”

Dreweatts pianos have been collected by one of the world’s foremost piano restorers, David Winston, who has restored some of the most valuable pianos in the world, including those owned and played by the greatest names in classical music, including Beethoven, Chopin and Liszt. David Winston has a connoisseur’s eye for exceptional quality and unusual provenance. Many of his pianos are one-off pieces with significant historic importance. His collection represents a lifetime’s passion coupled with an exceptional depth of knowledge and personal involvement. Commenting, he says, “The first thing for me is that it must be something that nobody else has. It must be both an excellent musical instrument and a beautiful object. Each was chosen for its unique place in history, art and culture.”

Among other highlights in the sale is a Wurlitzer 1411 Butterfly grand. At only 4’1” it is one of the smallest 88 note grand pianos ever made. It features an iconic case design, making it one of the most highly sought-after Art Deco instruments of all time (estimate £10,000-£15,000). Another is the first piano ever built by David, a stunning Viennese Fortepiano created in 1991, based on an original by Joseph Brodmann, 1823. A remarkable instrument, the piano has been used internationally in many recordings and concerts by some of the world’s leading musicians (estimate £15,000-£20,000).

Other covetable instruments include a handsome ship’s piano with folding keyboard, purchased by the RAF WWI Flying ace Captain Norman Macmillan for his wife, the Music Hall singer, Ena Beaumont (estimate £1,500-£2,000).

Scott Hirsch shares in-studio performance – Dreamer

Acclaimed singer-songwriter-producer-musician Scott Hirsch has announced today’s premiere of an exclusive new live in-studio acoustic performance video of his mesmerizing new single, “Dreamer.” Directed by musician/photographer Brendan Willing James at Hirsch’s Echo Magic in Ojai, CA, “Dreamer (Live In-Studio Acoustic Performance)” is streaming now via YouTube here. The official single version of “Dreamer” is available now at all DSPs and streaming services here.

“Dreamer” heralds the upcoming release of Hirsch’s eagerly awaited new album, WINDLESS DAY, due via Echo Magic Records with Soundly Music on Friday, October 8; pre-saves and exclusive vinyl pre-orders are available now here. A duet of sorts, “Dreamer” sees Hirsch exploring a deep well of emotion and sound joined by singer-songwriter Kelly McFarling, both accompanied on the new performance video by musicians Daniel Wright and Mikael Jorgensen.

WINDLESS DAY also includes the recently released singles, “Much Too Late” and “Spirit True,” both available now at all digital platforms. The latter track was met by praise from such influential outlets as Raven Sings The Blues, which wrote, “’Spirit True’ sees Hirsch return to the JJ Cale cool that he’s wrangled in the past, shuffling into view on dive bar dancefloor drums, an afternoon sunset of sax, and Scott’s smoke ring sigh in the vocals. This one is a perfect after-work comedown that feels as refreshing as a cold drink on a hot day.”

A founding member of such groundbreaking bands as Hiss Golden Messenger and The Court & Spark, Scott Hirsch has spent much of the past half-decade gradually growing an acclaimed solo canon, staking his own visionary, deeply personal approach towards traditional American studio craft and songwriting. Hailed by the Chicago Reader as “an album of kaleidoscopic range and beauty that encompasses his varied interests,” 2016’s BLUE RIDER SONGS prompted Pitchfork to enthuse, “It’s taken a long time for (Hirsch) to let out his voice – a cool, soulful thing filled with deep reverence for his source material, if some cynicism about the myths it’s spun, on BLUE RIDER SONGS, Hirsch debunks the idea that redemption is ever a cakewalk, and finds something more truthful and lasting in the pursuit of accepting responsibility.”

Hirsch followed up two years later with LOST TIME BEHIND THE MOON, praised by Sungenre as “a genre-defying blend of all things Americana, showcasing Hirsch’s innate songwriting ability, a mixture of country, blues, folk-rock and psychedelic which come together to create something wholly different from the separate parts. It is moving and contemplative, bold and adventurous, whilst also delicate and sensitive.” LOST TIME BEHIND THE MOON “answers the question of what we might have gotten if Lou Reed had headed for Tulsa instead of Long Island when he bolted from the Velvet Underground,” declared MAGNET, while Pitchfork wrote, “There’s a new confidence here; These songs suggest that Hirsch has reached a destination, at least with his music: that he has arrived at a place where he is able to harness these sounds and allusions to convey the particulars of his wanderlust.” “LOST TIME INSIDE THE MOON bristles and broods,” raved Raven Sings The Blues, “and in the end is a salve and solace to lost souls – Hirsch’s vision of country elegance and barbiturate boogie hangs heavy on the diaphragm, groovin’ and singin’ in the same breath.”

Hirsch continues to work closely with Hiss Golden Messenger as a multi-instrumentalist, arranger, producer, and most recently, mixer on this year’s acclaimed QUIETLY BLOWING IT. The founder of Ojai, CA-based studio and sound design firm, Echo Magic, Hirsch received a 2015 GRAMMY Award nomination for his work as engineer and mixer on folk music legend Alice Gerrard’s FOLLOW THE MUSIC. Other recent credits include collaborations with like-minded artists including Mikael Jorgensen, Orpheo McCord, Daniel Rossen, and William Tyler, the latter of whom recently wrote of Hirsch’s journey to WINDLESS DAY, “To the wandering soul, the promise of travel, the motion of the road, and necessary transience instills a love of the novel experience and fortifies the restless spirit. But when travel is no longer possible, when ‘the road’ becomes the familiar paths around your town and home, is there the time and space to create a new kind of journey? When else would we go inward, by choice or practice, then when the world shuts down around us and we are left with the thoughts and melodies in our heads?”

Land Rover SV Bespoke has created a new Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition to celebrate the 25th James Bond film, No Time To Die, ahead of its world premiere later this month.

Available to order as a Defender 110 or 90 and inspired by the specification of the Defenders that appear in No Time To Die, the stealthy Defender V8 Bond Edition features an Extended Black Pack with 22-inch Luna Gloss Black alloy wheels, signature Xenon Blue front brake calipers and a Defender 007 rear badge.

The bespoke touches extend to the practical interior, with illuminated Defender 007 treadplates and a specially developed touchscreen start-up animation for the intuitive Pivi Pro infotainment system that honours Land Rover’s long partnership with the James Bond franchise. At night, customers will also spot unique ‘007’ puddle lamp graphics.

Exclusively available to just 300 buyers around the world, the Defender V8 Bond Edition’s interior features laser etching detailing that it is one of 300 and the SV Bespoke logo. Each vehicle is commissioned by the vehicle personalisation experts at SV Bespoke in the UK.

Finbar McFall, Land Rover Brand Director, said: The Land Rover Defender V8 Bond Edition is an exclusive take on the most powerful production Defender ever made, inspired by vehicles on screen in No Time To Die. It represents a meeting of two great British brands and is a unique celebration of Land Rover’s 38-year association with James Bond.

Defenders are at the heart of the action in No Time To Die alongside two Range Rover Sport SVRs. A Range Rover Classic and Land Rover Series III are also in the film, which will be released in cinemas around the world from September 30 2021.

Based on the recently launched Defender V8, the Bond Edition is powered by a 5.0- litre supercharged petrol engine, which produces 525PS, 625Nm of torque and drives through an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Defender V8 90 accelerates from 0-60mph in just 4.9 seconds (0-100km/h in 5.2 seconds) with a top speed of 149mph (240km/h).

It delivers new levels of performance and driver engagement by combining the V8 with expertly developed suspension and transmission tuning to create the fastest and most dynamically rewarding Defender yet.

With unique suspension and transmission tuning, including bespoke spring and damper rates and a new Electronic Active Rear Differential, Defender V8 delivers more agile and engaging handling with heightened body control – all accompanied by a characteristic V8 supercharged soundtrack.

No Time To Die is directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga and stars Daniel Craig, who returns for his fifth and final film as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007. The film will be released in cinemas from September 30 2021 in the UK through Universal Pictures International and in the US on October 8 2021, from Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM) via their United Artists Releasing banner.

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao and MC Gransan present P.U.P.P.Y. in connection with the crowdfunding campaign to restore Puppy, the Museum’s floral sculpture

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao has just presented P.U.P.P.Y., a rap composed and performed by Bilbao-born MC Gransan in the context of the crowdfunding campaign launched for the restoration of Jeff Koons’s iconic sculpture. Recorded around the Museum, the rap ‘gives voice’ to Puppy through Gransan’s perspective and music style—with numerous references and nods to the rap world—and encourages people to contribute to the campaign.

Launched at the end of last June, the crowdfunding initiative will try to gather the funds necessary to carry out the restoration of the internal engineering of the 12-meter-high sculpture Puppy, one of the icons of the Museum and of the city of Bilbao. Over 28,000 euros have been raised out of the 100,000 needed for the renovation of the steel structure, the irrigation system, and the different internal layers that feed the plans and conform Puppy. Thanks to this preventive intervention, Puppy will remain in perfect condition for years to come, and this action will also promote the reduction in water consumption in daily irrigation and a more sustainable maintenance.
