What are the benefits of a low-carb, ketogenic diet?
There are more than one million searches on Google every month regarding the keto diet and its benefits. Diets can become a fad, but it appears that the keto diet is most definitely here to stay for the long-term. This has largely coincided with people becoming more health-conscious and reading up on more health-related news. As such, diets like the ketogenic one are growing in popularity.
It’s worth noting that the keto diet isn’t necessarily suited to everyone, and you should most definitely give it serious consideration before starting it, but it is a diet that has resulted in numerous success stories. The high-fat, low-carb philosophy has gripped the world. As a result, more and more people are giving it a go and discovering its various benefits. One search on Instagram demonstrates just how popular it is, for example.
Big brands are now even selling keto-friendly products, and keto recipes have become a popular search option online. The keto diet certainly has its sceptics, too, though, which is why seeking professional advice before considering taking on a keto diet is worthwhile. In the meantime, let’s assess some of the basic benefits of a low-carb, ketogenic diet.
A low-carb diet reduces your appetite
Most diets lead to extreme hunger, which is why people lose motivation on occasions and ultimately give up. A low-carb diet, though, is proven to reduce a person’s appetite and therefore lead to fewer calories being consumed. Eating more protein and fat is filling and will keep you feeling full for longer.
It can lead to instant weight loss
Cutting out carbohydrates is one of the fastest ways to lose weight. Studies show that people who consume a low-carb diet tend to lose weight faster than those who are on low-fat diets. The reason being that low-carb diets get rid of excess water in your body, therefore lowering insulin levels as a result and aiding weight loss.
We are constantly told that diet must be mixed with exercise for sustainable weight loss, and there is some truth in that. As such, it means you need to eventually get off the sofa and switch off Netflix, or shut down the game of 9 Masks of Fire slot, and get active. Those weight loss gains might only be temporary, otherwise.
For example, studies have shown that a low-carb diet is particularly effective for up to six months, but after that, additional lifestyle changes might be needed to take the weight loss up a level, such as increasing exercise.
Reduces the presence of triglycerides
They aren’t commonly known, but triglycerides are fat molecules that circulate in your bloodstream and are a known cause of heart disease. Carb consumption among sedentary people can increase the presence of triglycerides, with the simple sugar fructose being a particular concern. A low-carb, keto diet lessens the risk of too many triglycerides.

It helps produce more ‘good’ HDL cholesterol
There is good and bad cholesterol. Good cholesterol is high-density lipoprotein (HDL), which contributes towards good heart health and a smaller risk of developing heart disease. Eating fat increases “good” HDL levels and can therefore aid heart health. A low-fat diet, on the other hand, can have the opposite effect.
Reduces both blood sugar and insulin levels
Ketogenic diets are also helpful for people with diabetes and insulin resistance as it lowers blood sugar and insulin levels drastically. Of course, if you’re diabetic, you should speak to a professional before taking on a keto diet, but some studies have shown that 95% of people with type 2 diabetes had significantly reduced or halted their glucose-lowering medication within six months.
Some of the foods you can eat on a keto diet include avocado, butter, cream cheese, coconut, leafy greens, nuts, meats, eggs, and fish.
Sun Valley Museum of Art Q×A
By: Emily Bunn
A keystone of Ketchum’s community, the iconic Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. The museum is inviting the public to experience the joy of music and the arts to celebrate the momentous occasion. In past years, SVMoA has hosted 52 Grammy-Award winning artists, featured notable lecturers and visual artists, and awarded over $1 million in arts scholarships to local students and teachers. SVMoA’s Artistic Director, Kris Poole, sat down with 360 Magazine to talk about upcoming summer classes at the museum, the current BIG IDEA exhibition, and future plans for expansion.
SVMoA is celebrating its 50th anniversary this summer! Are any special performances lined up to commemorate this momentous occasion?
Clay, Silver, Ink: Sun Valley Center at 50, was on exhibit at The Museum from May through July.
The exhibition is guest-curated by artists Jim Romberg, Sun Valley Center for the Arts’ Director of Ceramics from 1973 to 1986, and Peter de Lory, who began teaching in 1974 and was Director of Photography from 1976 to 1979 and during the summers of 1982 and 1983.
Clay, Silver, Ink features artwork by 60 photographers, ceramic artists and printmakers, as well as several painters, who led classes and workshops at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts during the organization’s first 15 years. Many of the labels will include quotes from the artists that reflect on their experience at The Museum. A slide show of student work and snapshots from the era was also included in the exhibition.
SVMoA’s 50th Celebration & Birthday Concert will take place on August 26 and feature Pink Martini with China Forbes.
Pink Martini is led by the dynamic and hyperenergetic Thomas Lauderdale. The group’s repertoire is inspired by music from around the world and crosses genres of classical, jazz and old-fashioned pop. With 12 musicians onstage and songs performed in 25 languages, Pink Martini has crisscrossed the globe and has played with more than 70 orchestras.
Lauderdale’s co-conspirator in the band is his Harvard classmate, China Forbes. A year after starting the band, Lauderdale invited Forbes to join Pink Martini, and they began penning songs together. Since then, Forbes and Lauderdale have co-written many of Pink Martini’s most beloved songs, including “Sympathique,” “Lilly,” “Clementine,” and “Let’s Never Stop Falling in Love.” Forbes’ original song “Hey Eugene” is the title track of Pink Martini’s third album, and many of her songs can also be heard on television and film.
The concert will be a special one, starting with a look back at the Sun Valley Center for the Arts’ 50 years and a look ahead to SVMoA’s next 50. SVMoA will share memories and birthday cupcakes and asks everyone to come dressed for a party.
Is SVMoA offering any summer workshops or adult classes?
Yes! We offered 22 adult classes last year, and we plan to expand that programming throughout 2021 and into 2022. Classes range from one-night craft series workshops to creative jump-ins and week-long master class intensives. This summer, we offered the following courses:

How many students are currently in SVMoA’s art education program and k-12 education program this year?
SVMoA serves nearly 4,000 students through four unique arts education programs over the course of a year, reaching every child in Blaine County. Some programs happen in school classrooms, others in the museum space or performance halls. SVMoA’s student participants come from every public and private school in the Wood River Valley.
SVMoA features “BIG IDEA” projects. What does the BIG IDEA represent?
The BIG IDEA was designed to allow our community to enter into the conversation through a variety of avenues. If you are interested in going to see a film, or listening to a lecture, we hope the program content piques your curiosity enough to get you to visit the exhibition in The Museum or take a class that will allow you to go deeper into the subject. BIG IDEAs run the gamut from serious subjects like Refugees and/or Gender in the 21st century, to lighter fare that explores subjects, like the important role that bees or bicycles play in our world. Artists make art about the world they live in, and more often than not, what is on their minds is a topic we should be paying attention to as well. We have the opportunity to use the BIG IDEA model to engage people in ideas that matter. The art on exhibition, the music, films, lectures, discussions are all fodder for some pretty interesting conversations.
Why did SVMoA choose to display “Untrammeled: At Wilderness’ Edge” as the museum’s current big idea project?
As part of our 50th Anniversary celebration, we wanted to explore a BIG IDEA that had specific resonance with our local community. Because Sun Valley is a mountain resort town whose very existence owes its debt to the wilderness, we felt reexamining the premise of the 1964 Wilderness Act was an important effort.
At the time that we began talking with artists we had no idea that at this moment the topic would hold particular urgency. Our community, like many others in the mountain west, is experiencing an explosion of tourism and new residents. The exhibition and BIG IDEA grapple with what it means to live on the edge of and with wild places—how do we respect people’s need to be in the wilderness with our need to preserve and protect that very space? How should our idea of “managing” wilderness change/evolve?
We are so pleased to be engaged in the discussion through the work of 4 powerful artists, all of whom have international reputations, and two of whom we commissioned to do new work for this project. Adding talks by journalist Kevin Fedarko and curator Jock Reynolds only enriches the conversation.
Who is the next speaker in the museum’s lecture series? Why was this speaker chosen?
As part of the next BIG IDEA project Untrammeled: At Wilderness’ Edge, SVMoA will welcome journalist Kevin Fedarko, award-winning author of “The Emerald Mile” as our first speaker of the 2021/2022 fall/winter season. Fedarko’s book on the The Emerald Mile, with the subtitle The Epic Story of the Fastest Ride in History Through the Heart of the Grand Canyon, chronicles both the complex story of the Canyon’s environmental history, as well as the compelling story of how a couple river and wilderness junkies took the fastest boat ride ever down the Colorado River during the legendary flood of 1983. At this moment in 2021 when we are grappling how best to live on the edge of wilderness, this book and Fedarko’s tale beautifully illustrates the complicated nature of our relationship with wild places.
Jock Reynolds is a nationally respected curator and artist who served as the Director of the Yale University Art Gallery from 1998 to 2018. He has worked closely with Mark Klett, one of the artists in the Untrammeled exhibition, and is keenly interested in the role that art plays in shaping our national discussions. Jock will be in conversation with Mark Klett and Laura McPhee about their commissioned artworks.
Sandra Cisneros is one of the United States most important poets and writers. She is best known for her evocation of Mexican American life in Chicago. “The House on Mango Street,” written in 1983, continues to be taught in classrooms throughout the country. Cisneros has been invited to participate in SVMoA’s lecture series to speak to the value and richness of cross-cultural experiences. As a woman and a writer Cisneros beautifully explores the experience of being connected to both the US and to Mexico. There are so many members of our community and so many people in our country who share this relationship. We look forward to welcoming Cisneros to this community at this moment of growth and transition.
How do the three SVMoA spaces– The Museum, The Liberty Theatre, and the Hailey House and Classroom – each operate? What is each space’s function?
The Museum
Sun Valley Museum of Art is non-collecting museum that is accredited by the American Alliance of Museums (one of only five institutions in Idaho). SVMoA offers free admission and is open to the public throughout the year. Its downtown Ketchum location allows stop-by visitors as well as event and exhibition attendees to explore and experience art firsthand—both through visual art exhibitions and hands-on immersive education opportunities.
The Liberty Theatre
The former home of the Company of Fools, the historic The Liberty Theatre is centrally located on Main Street in Hailey, Idaho. The theatre is currently closed, awaiting some needed renovations.
The Hailey House and Classroom
The historic Hailey House, birthplace of American poet Ezra Pound, is open to visitors by appointment and during scheduled events. The house is frequently used to house visiting artists, teachers and musicians. The Hailey Classroom is open for adult, teen and youth classes and workshops during scheduled programs.
The museum is in the process of constructing a new building as well. How does SVMoA plan to use their new space?
Sun Valley Museum of Art needs expanded facilities. Currently we are not able to meet the community need for everything from classes to lectures to exhibition tours so we are actively seeking the right opportunity to build or renovate a new space. The community deserves to have a museum that can be a point of pride and meets the needs of today’s families and students as well as our growing and diverse community. As the cornerstone of Wood River Valley’s rich and diverse arts and culture scene, SVMoA is eager to develop a state-of-the-art facility that will engage more people on a deeper level, create more immersive experiences, and ensure accessibility for everyone in our community.
SVMoA operates as an arts education nonprofit. How can interested patrons support the arts?
SVMoA’s annual programs are supported in large part by its more than 1,200 members. When you join as a SVMoA member, you don’t just support your own arts experience; you support arts access for all. Your membership fee pays it forward so your fellow community members can experience the arts—the joy, the wonder, the inspiration, and the healing.
SVMoA’s annual Wine Auction welcomes friends, families, arts supporters, vintners and chefs to celebrate and support the arts each summer. The 2021 Wine Auction wrapped in mid-July and raised more than $1 million for arts education with the help of more than 350 attendees.
BIG IDEAS and major program support comes from memberships, individual donations, private foundations and public and private grants.
Regarding COVID-19, does the museum require guests to purchase tickets in advance online, or can visitors purchase tickets upon arrival?
SVMoA’s museum space is free and open to the public. SVMoA classes and events typically require advance registration and/or ticket purchase (as events can sell-out), but SVMoA will in general welcome walk-up attendees and participants if space allows.
At The Museum walk-in visitors are always welcome! If you’d like to learn more about the artwork in the exhibition, we invite families and small groups for private tours with The Museum’s curators. To schedule a tour please contact us at 208.726.9491 or at information@svmoa.org.

Netflix’s Pray Away Reveals Horrors of Conversion Therapy
By: Skyler Johnson
Edited By: Andrew Shibuya
Conversion therapy, or the pseudoscientific practice of changing someone’s sexual orientation, has been considered and practiced for over a century now. Dubious to many of its’ creators’ contemporaries, conversion therapy’s capacity for change has long been contested and considered futile. The practice itself is scientifically baseless and detrimental, and what is essentially man’s foolish and ineffectual attempt to change human nature. In recent Netflix documentary Pray Away, the effects and harms of this “therapy” are explored and uncovered throughout investigation of its century-long practice.
Pray Away follows ex-leaders and survivors of the “pray the gay away” movement, focusing on Exodus International, a conversion therapy organization that only ended eight years ago in 2013. The film follows several people as they detail their horrific experiences and the consequences of their both voluntary and involuntary participation in the practice.
Conversion therapy was publicly started in the 1890s, when Albert von Schrenck-Notzing stated in a conference that he was able to turn a gay man straight through hypnosis. Decades later, Eugen Steinach would later transplant the testicles of a straight man onto a gay man to “cure” homosexuality. Lobotomies, chemical castration, and aversion therapies became popular as “therapeutic” techniques. This lasted throughout the earlier half of the 20th century into the 1960s and 1970s, during the rise of the LGBT Rights Movement, when psychiatrists began to shy away from the practice. In 1973 the APA removed homosexuality from the DSM. Unfortunately, conversion therapy did not stop but was instead utilized by faith-based groups, including Exodus International.
Talk therapy now makes up the bulk of all current conversion therapy procedures. While this may seem a lot less intimidating, the effects of this talk therapy can be powerful, especially when utilized by the wrong people. The film exposed how many ex-gay leaders weren’t licensed professionals, and how, if they believed someone were gay, it was because they had a poor relationship with their parents. And if not, they must have been sexually abused even if they were unable to recall any abuse. To a lot of young people, this thought process made sense, as many were too young to truly understand its flaws.
The film also displayed how the people involved in this movement were dishonest about the “progress” they were making. They included the story of John Paulk, once claiming to have become a straight man through the therapy. John later admits that the entire time he was consumed with gay thoughts and was mendacious about his reformation.
The documentary exhibited that there are a lot of people that still hold their beliefs. Organizations still exist that enforce conversion therapy. It’s not a thing of the past. This was highlighted by the film’s portrayal of the leader of the Freedom March, Jeffrey McCall, an ex-transgender woman living as a man with the belief that being trans is a sin. The organization’s Facebook page now has 10,000 followers and is still growing.
While the film primarily covers people that were able to escape the movement and live better lives, there remains great struggle that many people experience. The film’s director, Kristine Stolakis, decided to make Pray Away when her uncle, who had gone through conversion therapy, committed suicide. Julie Rodgers talked about self-harm, which is something that’s incredibly common, most notably in people who have undergone conversion therapy. Participants have been 8.4x more likely to commit suicide and 5.9x more likely to undergo severe depression. It’s also been connected deeply to an overall sense of hopelessness and an increase in self-hatred.
Conversion therapy is a practice that causes pain for the many people that were subjected to it. But the film did also evince that there is, at least somewhat, a way out. Many of the film’s subjects were able to enter into healthy homosexual relationships. On the film’s website, they list a variety of resources for those anguished by conversion therapy. These can be found HERE.
LA Arts Show
LA ART SHOW’S SPECIAL SUMMER EDITION CELEBRATES MAJOR SUCCESS WITH RECORD SALES FOR MANY PARTICIPATING GALLERIES
The Return to Live Art Fairs with COVID-Conscious Guidelines Limited Attendees But Double Sales
Among the first events to return live, this weekend the LA Art Show wrapped a socially distanced special summer edition of the fair with half the attendance but double the sales. Galleries, art dealers, curators, collectors, and art lovers masked up and made their way to Los Angeles Convention Center this past weekend to surround themselves with arts and culture, marking the first time in 18 months for some visitors.
Utilizing 150,000 square feet, new director Kassandra Voyagis was able to create an airy show with room to roam. In past years, as one of the most popular art fairs, the LA Art Show has hosted 65k guests, showcasing up to 150 galleries and museums from around the globe. Protocols for 2021 included wide aisles, clean air circulation, mandatory masks and limited total attendance of 30k art lovers over the course of 4 days. However, the decreased capacity certainly did not diminish the experience.
The event kicked off with a visit from Mayor Eric Garcetti, celebrating both the return of the show and the 50th anniversary of the Los Angeles Convention Center, followed by a successful opening night complete with red carpet. The celebration was hosted by international pop star Rita Ora in conjunction with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® for a celebration of art and charitable components. The excitement was palpable, with an air of festivity from the outfits to the assumed smiles under everyone’s masked faces. The exhilaration continued throughout the weekend, heightened by a surprise visit from Arnold Schwarzenegger to the delight of the galleries.
The excitement of this year’s show was evident from the moment patrons stepped foot on the show floor, where they were instantly met with an NFT introduction, bringing live NFT sales to a consumer market. This presence is thanks to Vellum LA, the first physical gallery for NFT-backed digital art in Los Angeles ahead of their launch in September, and SuperRare, the leading and most trusted NFT marketplace for digital art. The strictly NFT gallery highlighted the most exciting female artists currently in the digital space, with their brand new show Sea Change. In a partnership with SuperRare as the LA Art Show’s official NFT marketplace, live NFT auctions were accessible to everyone on the floor, creating an exciting energy from the get go. Eight of the twelve artists sold beyond their reserve with a total Vellum LA and SuperRare sales of over $247,000. Additionally, Vellum’s technology partner StandardVision released their newest product Luma Canvas to great interest and even a sale of this first ever museum-grade LED display for digital art and NFTs, ushering in the art screens of the future.
Traditional galleries also had quite a busy weekend full of sales. Arcadia Gallery, one of the galleries returning to the show for another successful year, sold 65 pieces, a pleasant surprise for the veteran participant. Rehs Galleries, a New York based institution, was overwhelmed by the sales of the weekend, noting that every buyer was a new buyer. In fact, most galleries noted strong sales to new collectors, establishing meaningful connections with an entirely new clientele. Local favorite, Simard Bilodeau Contemporary said each of their artists sold a piece if not multiple, marking a successful weekend for their artists. Copro Gallery, known for their steeped history in lowbrow and pop surrealism was overwhelmed with sales, thrilled by the unexpected rush. 14-year-old Tex Hammond, nearly sold out of his work on display at Acosta Arts, an incredible feat for any artist, let alone the youngest to ever exhibit. Other galleries with stellar sales include Jane Kahan Gallery, Aibo Gallery, Abend Gallery, Peri Art, and first timer from Paris, Spaceless Gallery.
Continuing the many successes of the weekend, Citibank returned with an important presence at the show. Not only did they create a beautiful physical space, but they extended the reach of the fair to those unable to attend with a series of virtual gallerist talks. Each of the four featured galleries–the aforementioned Simard Bilodeau Contemporary, Caldwell Snyder Gallery, Pigment Gallery, and Rebecca Hossack Gallery – joined the other exhibitors with high sales and exposure.
This special LA Art Show Summer Edition was the idea of new director, Kassandra Voyagis. Having been met with such success and resounding positive feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike, the show organizers couldn’t feel more hopeful about the state of art fairs post-pandemic. Those who missed the show, or who attended and are already experiencing LA Art Show withdrawals, do not have to wait long. The LA Art Show returns January 19-23, 2022 meaning there’s less than a six month wait!

ENGLAND HECKFIELD PLACE
ENGLAND’S HECKFIELD PLACE GEARS UP TO WELCOME AMERICANS
Heckfield Place, the award-winning Georgian manor estate turned luxury hotel in Hampshire, England, has announced an Autumn Equinox celebration this September to allow guests to reconnect with nature on the bucolic estate. The events are perfectly timed following the UK’s reopening to vaccinated American travelers, who can enter without quarantine as of this week.
Set in its own 438-acre estate of ancient woods, lakes, working farmland and gardens, the 18th-century property located just an hour outside London is the ideal oasis to embrace nature. Earlier this year, Heckfield Place’s Market Garden achieved 100% biodynamic certification, becoming the very first hotel in the United Kingdom to receive this designation. Heckfield’s fully organic Home Farm now provides in myriad ways for the hotel: from flowers, to rotating arable crops and organic produce that inspire the seasonal menus at the hotel’s restaurants Hearth and Marle, led by Culinary Director Skye Gyngell, who champions a root-to-plate ethos.
This September, Heckfield Place has planned a number of events to celebrate the Autumn Equinox as part of its Assembly program to help guests reconnect with the natural elements that surround them. Highlights of Heckfield Place’s Autumn Equinox weekend include the following:
September 17
Watercolor class: Artist Mary Ellen Taylor’s autumn botanical workshop
Guests can reconnect with nature to create a watercolor drawing with the help of renown botanical artist Mary Ellen Taylor. The experience is paired with a three-course lunch.
September 18
The Art of Preservation by Heckfield Kitchen: Heckfield’s Development Chef Dor Harel will demonstrate how to make creations such as chutney, kimchi and preserves using ingredients from the Heckfield orchard, the biodynamic Market Garden and around the estate.
Foraging: The hunt for mushrooms and wild food with Fergus the forager
Professional forager Fergus Drennan will take guests through the Heckfield Estate to search for the season’s pick of wild autumn foods, while learning to safely identify and gather fungi, as well as hedgerow leaves, fruits, nuts and roots.
September 19
Wild swimming talk and dip with Dip Advisor’s Ella Foote: Ella Foote, a swim instructor, explorer and editor, will share stories behind “wild swimming” and lead guests on a dip in the Lower Lake on the Heckfield Estate. The event will finish with a three-course set menu, using the freshest ingredients of the day, in Heckfield’s farm-to-table Marle Restaurant.
Other activities perfect in the autumn include guided walks around the estate, hiking around the nearby Bramshill Forest, biking to one of the local country pubs, bird watching in the woods and a forest bathing excursion. Local excursions that the Heckfield Place team can arrange include horseback riding at the Duke of Wellington’s estate, a round of golf at Bearwood Lakes Golf club, and wine tasting at the eco-friendly Hattingley Valley winery, which specializes in sparkling wines. Guests looking to challenge themselves can try out Heckfield’s Farm Fit circuit-based training using equipment found on the farmland, such as tyres, weighted milk churns, ropes, hay bales, logs and sandbags.
ABOUT HECKFIELD PLACE:
A Georgian family home dating to the 1700s, Heckfield Place has been lovingly restored to its classic origins and rewoven into its surrounding 400 acres of farmland, ancient heather and woodlands. The estate’s farm, two walled gardens and orchards nourish renowned chef Skye Gyngell’s epicurean cuisine, bringing the outside gloriously into the property’s three restaurants–Marle, with its outdoor balcony overlooking the property, the Sun House, a unique space for up to 30 guests in the Upper Walled Garden, and the open-flamed Hearth. Aiming to be as sustainable as possible, the estate has a biomass energy center to power hotel water and central heating; an aerobic digester to process all recyclable waste and provide compost for the garden and pellets for the biomass energy center; harvests rainwater and captures spring water. As part of the Assembly, the hotel’s event rooms can host up to 120 guests and the new state-of-the-art, Dolby Atmos surround sound cinema can accommodate 67 viewers. There is also an extensive wine cellar and tasting room, as well as the full service Little Bothy Spa.

In this remake of the 1999 teen classic She’s All That, an influencer specializing in makeovers bets she can transform an unpopular classmate into prom king. Sixpence None the Richer’s original version of Kiss Me was heard in She’s All That. The song received a GRAMMY nomination and placed in the top 10 of the Billboard 100 for the year.
Of course, there are many songs that have influenced my career, but of all the songs in the universe, ‘Kiss Me’ has to be one of my absolute favorites, says Cyn. I have many fond memories of discovering my voice to ‘Kiss Me’ while riding in the backseat of my mom’s car. When I was approached with the opportunity to sing this song, I was ecstatic and so grateful. I am thrilled with how it turned out and can’t wait to see it in He’s All That.
Cyn released her debut EP, Mood Swings, in 2019 via Katy Perry’s Unsub Records. Her songs have been widely licensed, including placements in soundtracks for Netflix’s To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You and the Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman.
He’s All That (Music From The Netflix Film) also includes new songs from Blu de Tiger (Go Bad), Valentino Khan ft. ALMA (Stop Talkin’) and Kaz Gamble and Doug Ray (Mean Streets of Pali).
Carried Away, the sweeping hit ballad from Surf Mesa with Madison Beer, features prominently in the film. Both the original song and the Tchami remix of Carried Away are found on the soundtrack along with recent hits from Katy Perry, Topic, Bebe Rexha, ATB, A7S, Fisher, Troye Sivan, Kacey Musgraves, Mark Ronson, Emilee, Tesher, TCTS, Glowie and WizTheMC. See below for track listing. Fans who pre-order/pre-save He’s All That (Music From The Netflix Film) HERE will instantly receive Kiss Me plus Kiss Me (Remix).
In this reimagining of 1999’s She’s All That, Padgett (TikTok star Addison Rae) has mastered her perfect high school life: She’s a popular beauty influencer with a huge following, and her hot pop star boyfriend makes her the envy of everyone on her feed. But after she catches him cheating while livestreaming, she goes viral for all the wrong reasons. To repair her reputation, Padgett makes a risky bet that she can turn her scruffy anti-social classmate Cameron (Cobra Kai’s Tanner Buchanan) into prom king material. Things get complicated when she finds herself falling for him IRL, and learning no one is quite who they seem on social media, least of all herself.

This landmark release, which includes full cooperation from the creators Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber, features an array of exclusive demos, commentaries, interviews and much more.
In 1970, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber released Jesus Christ Superstar as a concept double album. It became a massive global best-seller, topping the US Billboard Top LPs chart in both February and May 1971, as well as ranking at number one in the year-end chart. By 1983, the album had sold over 7 million copies worldwide.
However, the journey to international success was far from straightforward. As unknown names in musical theatre, Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber were unable to find a producer willing to stage their ambitious idea for a religious-themed rock opera. Eventually, they persuaded MCA records to let them record the score first. Using a full orchestra, and with the outstanding talents of Ian Gillan, Murray Head, Yvonne Elliman and The Grease Band, they created a masterpiece that revolutionized the form of musical theatre.
Within a year of its chart success, stage productions of “Jesus Christ Superstar” began to appear all over the world, leading to record-breaking runs in the West End, a hit Hollywood film, Tony nominations and Olivier Awards. Its influence and impact have not diminished: in 2018 the NBC live production of the show, starring John Legend and Sara Bareilles, resulted in Emmy Award wins for Rice and Lloyd Webber (thereby making them two of the 16 people in history to have won an Emmy®, a Grammy®, an Oscar® and a Tony®).
Andrew Lloyd Webber said, “A musical about Jesus Christ! Back in 1969 the mere thought had theatre producers falling about with laughter. But somehow Tim Rice and I persuaded MCA to record a single. It came at a time when fusion was all the rage. The Rolling Stones had recorded with the London Bach Choir. Deep Purple’s Jon Lord composed a symphony for rock band and orchestra. So I was like a kid in a sweet shop when I was able to combine a rock band, a symphony orchestra and a gospel choir in what was the first track to be recorded, simply titled Superstar. Overriding everything was that we were telling our story in sound – and sound alone. We had none of the visual elements of theatres and film to fall back on. A cast-iron musical and dramatic structure was the key. Dialogue had no place on a record, so music and lyrics had to carry everything. In truth, we were writing a musical radio play. Ultimately, this gave us one enormous advantage. Audiences came to know our recordings so well that no future director or producer could add musical passages for scene changes or tamper with the construction. The score had become set in stone.”
Tim Rice stated, “I have nothing but fond memories of the writing and recording of Jesus Christ Superstar. We were incredibly lucky; we had a record company and a management team who were willing to take huge risks. Not just in terms of belief in our idea but also in terms of providing a budget to fulfil our musical vision which brought together a rock band, a full orchestra and not just one but two separate choirs.” He added, “I’m incredibly proud and grateful to have been part of it all, perhaps more now at 76 than I was at 25.”
Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and three-time Grammy Award-winner Nile Rodgers has commented on the impact of the musical through his career, stating “Jesus Christ Superstar permeated every part of our lives then. It was a cultural explosion, like an earthquake or asteroid crashing…with Tim, he made a genius work in Jesus Christ Superstar, which was as revolutionary to hippies as Miles Davis’ Bitches Brew was to jazz.”
