Bugatti Bollide and Chiron Super Sport

Bugatti introduced the brand’s two newest hyper sports cars to customers and enthusiasts during the biggest automotive event of the year.

In true Bugatti fashion, the historic French luxury marque made headlines this past weekend at The Quail in Monterey, California, with the North American debut of not one, but two new hyper sports cars–the Chiron Super Sport and the track-focused Bolide.

To officially kick off this time-honored event, Bugatti announced the experimental Bolide will be produced as a few-off model following significant interest from customers. Only 40 of these radically light, four million euro track-oriented machines will be available for purchase, with delivery scheduled for 2024.

In addition to the Bolide, Bugatti presented the new Chiron Super Sport to the U.S. market for the first time. With deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2022, the Super Sport is the ultimate grand tourer designed for top speed, luxury and comfort. Complete with an overhauled 8.0-liter W16 engine, this hypercar produces 1,600 hp and has a net price of 3.2 million euros.

This year, Bugatti showcased a variety of vehicles, including the Chiron Sport, Super Sport, Pur Sport and Bolide at The Quail–A Motorsports Gathering, while the full Super Sport family joined these cars at ‘Le Domaine Bugatti’ at The Lodge at Pebble Beach. On display were the Veyron Super Sport, EB110 Super Sport and the Type 55 Super Sport for customers and Bugatti fans to enjoy.

“The United States is Bugatti’s largest market, so for us to be able to present two brand new hyper sports cars to enthusiasts and collectors in person here is critical for the company,” said Stephan Winkelmann, President of Bugatti. “The two vehicles represent the best of the Bugatti brand, from the enhanced performance capabilities and technological innovation to the ultimate level of luxury and comfort for customers.”

As in years past, Stephan Winkelmann joined other esteemed jury members as they evaluated vehicles taking part in the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

Hirschvogel at IAA Mobility in Munich

The automotive industry is in a state of upheaval. The demands on mobility are changing. This is a development that Hirschvogel, as a global automotive supplier, is actively addressing. Jörg Rückauf, who has been CEO of the Group since July 1 and who will assume responsibility for Future Business, says: “The mobility industry is undergoing a transformation. We want to take advantage of the resulting opportunities and help shape the change together with our customers.”

Hirschvogel, a family-owned steel and aluminum processing company headquartered in Denklingen, Upper Bavaria, has been systematically expanding its range of products and services over the years. In the automotive industry, it is moving into innovative products that are independent of the combustion engine. At the same time, the company is opening up to new sectors in the mobility environment and investing in other business areas by acquiring stakes in technology companies. These efforts have resulted in the generation of a partner ecosystem.

This year’s IAA Mobility in Munich will see Hirschvogel exhibiting for the first time together with some of those ecosystem partners. Under the name “Hirschvogel Mobility Network”, they will be presenting components and services for mobility concepts of the future. Among the partners present: Eatron Technologies, a specialist for intelligent software in electric and self-driving mobility concepts; Usaneers, experts for the development of innovative human-machine interfaces for the automotive industry; Automotive Synergies, supplier of electronic systems for passenger cars and commercial vehicles; and the Hirschvogel Innovation Center, which coordinates the innovation projects.

Developed for the short haul

The centerpiece of the Hirschvogel Mobility Network’s presence at the IAA will be the new AXIMO (derived from the Latin words for axis and movement), with which it is breaking into the micro-mobility market. AXIMO combines the expertise and services of the individual ecosystem partners to form a component platform for three- or four-wheeled micromobiles. The platform, which encompasses forged and machined components as well as operating displays and software applications, is a modular system. The modules can be used on the customer side to implement different concepts for micro-vehicles in a cost-efficient way. At the IAA Mobility, a delivery robot and a cargo bike will be showcased as application examples.

Tailored to E-mobility

In the automotive supply industry, the Hirschvogel Mobility Network has a growing portfolio of components for E-mobility. These encompass heat sinks for power electronics which, as forged components, demonstrate improved thermal conductivity. Other product highlights include stator housings and ready-for-assembly rotor shafts for electric motors in micromobiles, passenger cars or commercial vehicles, as well as forged and machined electric transmission shafts for passenger cars and trucks. In conjunction with the differentials and components for half shafts that have likewise been added to the portfolio, Hirschvogel can thus cover the entire electric powertrain.

Independent of the powertrain concept

These ready-for-assembly differentials and differential bevel gears expand the range of Hirschvogel components that are independent of the powertrain concept. An augmented reality presentation will make their advantages tangible for the audience at the IAA Mobility. Another focal point will be the chassis. Here, arms and struts, steering knuckles as well as wheel carriers made of forged aluminum will be presented. Compared with cast aluminum, their forged counterparts demonstrate improved mechanical properties and, as lightweight components, help reduce vehicle weight.

“Mobility is becoming more diverse. So is the range of products and services at Hirschvogel. We want to support our customers with suitable components and services when it comes to designing and implementing their mobility concepts. In so doing, we bring our manufacturing know-how–and gladly also our design expertise–to the table,” says Rückauf.

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group

The Hirschvogel Automotive Group is one of the largest manufacturers of forged parts made of steel and aluminum worldwide. As a development partner for modern mobility concepts, with a focus on the automotive industry, and as a production specialist in forging and machining, the core competencies of Hirschvogel include powertrain applications based on all drive technologies, as well as transmissions and chassis in passenger cars and commercial vehicles, and components in off-highway applications. Together with its network of partner companies, Hirschvogel is also active in the fields of electromobility, micro-mobility and software.

Hirschvogel is an independent family company and has approx. 5,700 employees worldwide. Total sales in 2020 amounted to 1.04 billion euros. The headquarters of the Group are located in Denklingen, Upper Bavaria. Likewise located there are Hirschvogel Umformtechnik GmbH and its parent company Hirschvogel Holding GmbH. The Group is also represented in Germany with three other plants based in Schongau and in Marksuhl, near Eisenach. Internationally, the Hirschvogel Automotive Group is present on three continents: in Gliwice (Poland), in Sanaswadi (India), in Pinghu near Shanghai (China), in Columbus/Ohio (USA) and in San Juan del Río/Querétaro (Mexico).

Fairmont Taghazout Bay

FAIRMONT TAGHAZOUT BAY – A NEW DEFINITION OF COASTAL LUXURY

Located on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean, the much-anticipated five-star Fairmont Taghazout Bay has opened in Morocco, introducing a new design by Wimberly Interiors that redefines contemporary coastal luxury.

The stunning surroundings of Agadir became a source of inspiration for the designers who spent eight years working on the project, taking cues from local textures and techniques and the awe-inspiring landscape. The result is an authentic, layered look and feel that’s reflective of the mountainous terrain, sand and sea, with accents of geometric patterns, colours synonymous with the region, and signature Fairmont elements.

Upon arrival, guests are taken on a journey – overlooking a village beyond that leads to the sea. Across the site, the interior design integrates with the buildings’ shapes and forms – with views framed throughout and a series of internal courtyards that nod to the traditional riads of Morocco.

Inside, a natural and organic approach to materials is punctuated with vibrant color, highlighting Moroccan artistry and referencing local Berber design. Firmly grounding the guest in the destination of Taghazout, Morocco’s signature mint tea – with its unique taste in each region – is ceremonially poured as a welcome gesture, creating a truly unique experience that celebrates people and place.

A sense of place was integral to the Fairmont Taghazout Bay’s identity. It was important for our design team to draw on the rich craft and patterns of the region, like traditional zellige tiles, tadelakt plaster and brick- and metalwork, complemented by a colour palette of deep, inky blues and neutrals, says Rachel Johnson, Senior Vice President and Studio Director of Wimberly Interiors London. Decorative lighting and rugs were sourced throughout the country, ensuring that feature furnishings highlighted the strength of Morocco’s artisans, Rachel adds.

Food and Beverage Design

Damien Follone, Senior Associate and Senior Designer, Restaurant and Bars at Wimberly Interiors London, said: Morocco has a rich culinary identity, which led us to explore the food scene in cities like Marrakech, Essaouira and Agadir to better understand the breadth and diversity of the cuisine. The research guided the F&B experiences across the Fairmont Taghazout Bay, like the local Berber culture of sharing and cooking methods such as the tagine. The souk and Taghazout’s proximity to the sea also informed both the food direction and design across The Commons, Beef and Reef and Japanese.

All-day dining – The Commons

A play on colour and material from the region, the all-day dining references Souk El Had in Agadir. The arches in The Commons restaurant were constructed by local craftspeople, with local bricks.

Pool bar and grill – Beef & Reef

Seamlessly integrating with the outdoors, this relaxing space encourages guests to connect with the landscape. Blurring the lines between the restaurant, pool, and sea beyond, this intimate yet airy space references a traditional Tataoui Berber ceiling.

The Japanese Restaurant

This destination dining experience uses local textures, materials, and delicate details to create a Japanese aesthetic. Animated and lively, it features contemporary Moroccan metalwork with aged, hammered copper.

Fairmont Spa

The multi-level experience is a nod to traditional Moroccan courtyards and gardens, and the spa nestles quietly in an enclave of beautifully landscaped small buildings. From a sculptural staircase at the reception overlooking the spa gardens, to the sunken hammams, the spa is a truly Moroccan experience. Moroccan tadelakt plaster walls and zellige tiles are focal points – adding to an authentic, calm experience.

Finding the Right Mentality to Get Out of a Financial Rut

When you find yourself in a difficult financial situation, it can take a severe mental toll on you due to the stresses involved and how it impacts what you can do with your life. This, of course, makes the whole situation even worse as you’re now having to deal with your mental health on top of the financial issues you face.

Trying to resolve complex issues while in a troubled headspace isn’t ideal and makes it much harder than it already is. Therefore, your priority should be doing everything you can to get yourself in a healthier and more positive mindset, so that you can approach these challenges with as much chance for a successful result as possible.

Understand That There are Alternative Solutions

When things don’t go the way that you want them to, it’s easy to think that all paths forward are closed off to you. This is especially true when you’re talking about money, due to how much of a role that it seems to play in everything. However, it’s important to remember that you likely feel this way because you’re only familiar with the methods and options that you or people you know have used in the past. Instead, you might need to alter your lifestyle and consider as many different options as possible. Life is all about change and learning to adapt to oncoming challenges is something that could be very positive for you going forward in life, regardless of your financial situation.

For example, cutting back on things that you usually spend a lot of money on might mean that you no longer get to experience those things in the same way but they open up a bit of freedom where it’s more important, meaning you can relax that little bit more. Furthermore, this doesn’t even mean that you’re cut off from getting new things, it just means the way that you pay for them might be a little bit different. If you needed to get a car, for instance, but you find yourself with bad credit, car finance might be the route forward for you with companies who won’t hold your credit against you.

Take Care of Yourself

Whenever you’re faced with a situation that is having a negative impact on your mental health, it can be tempting to put all of your time towards trying to resolve that issue, without putting any time aside for your own care. It is important to put time towards yourself, not only for the sake of your health, but also, as mentioned previously, a clearer mind can often mean a stronger approach to life’s problems.

If you’re struggling for ways to do this, you have multiple options to try and see what helps you. Meditation has many benefits related to mental health, as does exercise. The latter can even take the form of activities as simple as a walk in a nice area, which can give your brain a much-needed rest from the confines of your home. Additionally, the area that you walk to itself can bring its own benefits if you decide to go to a greener, wider space.

Suni Lee Wins Full Set at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

By: Ally Brewster

Women’s artistic gymnastics was at the forefront at the Summer Olympics once again this year in Tokyo. Artistic gymnastics is a highly competitive, technical sport that takes a lifetime to perfect. The sport garners millions of viewers worldwide each Olympics, and marketing teams use the sport as one of the faces of the games. Artistic gymnastics has become one of, if not the, most popular sport each Olympics.

At the Olympics, artist gymnastics is set into two categories: team and individual. Each member of every country competes in qualifying rounds for team finals, all-around finals, and individual events finals. Each competitor gets a chance to let their abilities shine as they compete on each apparatus. This year, each competitor of the USA Gymnastics team shined with Simone Biles, Sunisa (Suni) Lee, Jordan Chiles, and Grace McCallum. Jade Carey and MyKayla Skinner participated as individual athletes for individual events. Though each gymnast shined, one gymnast really caught viewer’s attention. This notoriety was expected as she is a fan-favorite in the Olympics: Sunisa Lee.

But, who is Suni Lee?

Suni Lee, born Sunisa Phabsomphou, competed in her first ever Olympics this year at only 18-years-old. Though she graduated high school just a few months ago, the Minnesota-native has been doing gymnastics since she was six-years-old. She first began her training at Midwest Gymnastics Center. No Olympic journey is easy, and Suni’s was no exception. Olympians need to train most hours of the day to perfect their craft, which can be difficult to afford. Suni’s father took that problem into his own hands. Her father had always been one of her biggest supporters. He decided to build her a wooden beam in their backyard for her to practice on when they couldn’t afford a real one.

Notably, Suni Lee is the first Hmong-American gymnast to ever compete at the Olympics. Her parents are immigrants from Laos. The Hmong community was excited to have this representation, especially after the year of anti-Asian rhetoric and violence. It meant a lot to the Asian-American community for Suni to be in the Olympics as a positive voice for the community. For some people, Suni was the first time they heard of the Hmong people – an ethnic group living mainly in southern China, Vietnam, Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar. By qualifying for the Olympics, she was able to represent her community. This moment can be used to educate the world on the Hmong people, their community, and the hardships they have fought to overcome.

Going into the Olympics, Suni was a newcomer to watch for Team USA. She was known for her stellar bar routines. Suni went above and beyond even her own expectations. She qualified not only for Team USA and bar individuals, but also for all-around and beam.

During finals, all of Team USA did amazing. The US team gave the competition their all and ending up winning a Silver medal. They were all ecstatic because, with the exception of Simone Biles, it was each member’s first time winning an Olympic medal.

As they went onto individual competition, the team members of Team USA continued to support each other, even while competing. Suni continued to dominate the competition in the individual rounds. She caught the attention of people as she performed beautifully on each apparatus in all-around. Her performance earned her gold in the all-around competition. With the win, Suni became the first Asian-American to win an all-around gold medal.

After the all-around, the individual competition continued with Suni competing on the beam and uneven bars. On beam she performed beautifully, just missing a medal by placing 4th place. Though she did not win a medaling placement, Suni was as impressive as ever as she competed amongst the best gymnasts in the world.

Coming into the competition, the uneven bars were known as Suni’s specialty. This proved to be the case as she performed a stunning routine. She was awarded third place and earned a bronze medal.

With each of her wins, Suni entered a distinguished group of Olympians that won a full set – earning a gold, silver and bronze medal. Suni made her community proud as she became the first Asian-American to win all-around. Suni is also the first Hmong American to compete in artistic gymnastics. Suni dedicated her Olympic wins to her father, who supported her through everything and watched her live her dream.

More on Lil Wayne:

Lil Wayne began his career as a near-novelty, a preteen delivering hardcore Southern hip-hop. Through years of maturation and prolific output, during which the delivery of his humorous and wordplay-heavy rhymes gradually changed from ringing and pugnacious to stoned and rasped, he developed into a million-selling artist with a massive body of work, one so inventive and cunning that it makes his claim of being the “best rapper alive” worth considering. Wayne debuted at the age of 12, received his first platinum certification only five years later as a member of the Hot Boys, and immediately thereafter became a formidable solo artist with Tha Block Is Hot (1999), his first of 12 Top Ten albums on the Billboard 200. During a period of constant output entailing not just successful full-lengths but also reputation-building mixtapes and featured appearances on pop hits like Destiny’s Child‘s “Soldier” (2004), he reached mainstream superstar status with Tha Carter III (2008). A triple-platinum blockbuster, it spawned the number one pop hit “Lollipop” and the number six follow-up “A Milli,” and netted three Grammy awards, including Best Rap Album. Throughout the 2010s, despite numerous legal and creative battles, Wayne continued to be a regular presence on the upper reaches of the charts with albums such as Tha Carter IV (2011) and I Am Not a Human Being II (2013), additional smash singles as a headliner, and a continually lengthening list of collaborative hits, including the multi-platinum “Sucker for Pain” (for the Suicide Squad soundtrack in 2016) and “I’m the One” (headlined by DJ Khaled in 2017). Since the latter hit, Wayne has topped the Billboard 200 with the consecutive LPs Tha Carter V (2018) and Funeral (2020).

Prince Nikolaos × National Hellenic Museum

A unique and profound photography exhibit by HRH Prince Nikolaos of Greece and Denmark will make its world premiere at the National Hellenic Museum (NHM) in Chicago as it reopens in September. Resilience is an exhibition of 20 works of photographic art – among them 19 never-before shown and one exhibited in London earlier this year – that will be previewed at the NHM Saturday, Sept. 25.

Prince Nikolaos is an accomplished photographic artist whose works have been exhibited throughout the world since 2015, most recently at the London Design Biennale in June. His first solo exhibit in North America, Resilience will open to the public with a presentation by Prince Nikolaos Sunday, Sep. 26, and will reside at the NHM through late December. The exhibit is sponsored by NHM Trustee, Chicagoan John S. Koudounis.

A central piece of the Resilience exhibit called Sea Cred was created by Prince Nikolaos in collaboration with Parley for the Oceans, a non-profit that enables creators, thinkers and leaders to raise awareness of environmental threats to the planet’s oceans. The piece is a photographic mosaic, with images assembled on credit card-sized pieces of Parley Ocean Plastic®, a premium material created from intercepted plastic debris from remote beaches, mangroves and coastal communities, to represent the impact of consumerism on the oceanic ecosystem.

“Rather than simply taking a picture of a landscape, I’ll take a picture of what is evoking emotion – such as a zoomed, focused image of a ripple of water – that has caught my eye in the moment,” says Prince Nikolaos. “These details are the essence of the landscape to be celebrated and preserved.”

“As an artist Prince Nikolaos is always drawn to open spaces; nature has been an integral theme and presence in his work,” says Marilena Koutsoukou, the exhibit’s curator. “Like an archaeologist meticulously excavating, recording and drawing conclusions, the artist’s intent with this body of work is to deconstruct and explore from where this strength originates.”

In discussing Resilience – both the collection of works and the human capacity to overcome difficulties faced across the globe that inspired the exhibition – Prince Nikolaos quotes the renowned Greek poet Odysseas Elytis who said, “If you deconstruct Greece, you will in the end see an olive tree, a grapevine, and a boat remain. That is, with as much, you reconstruct her.”

“However, this exhibition goes far beyond Greece,” says Koutsoukou. “It’s Prince Nikolaos’ expression of our collective experience with a new normal, a shared belief that we must let go of our past ways and find ways to celebrate and protect nature and, eventually, ourselves.”

— more –

This technique of assembling precise, detailed photography to create a vast presentation also was employed by Prince Nikolaos in Together, which premiered in London, and is the only piece in the exhibit previously shown. It features two life-sized olive trees growing side-by-side, their branches entangled. The assembly of those images into a single artistic piece allows for clarity and detail. Each tiny leaf is clear and crisp even in its life-size presentation. Togetherwas inspired by the isolation and desire for togetherness experienced worldwide through the pandemic.

“I’ve always maintained that the most beautiful artist is nature; I’m just the messenger,” says Prince Nikolaos, who credits his wife, Princess Tatiana, for inspiring his technique of trying to convey the emotion which the landscape evokes in him. “I once was photographing the dessert, and my wife advised me to stop trying to capture its vastness but, instead, to focus on what moves my soul.”

Through the long months of the global pandemic, Prince Nikolaos also has looked to his origins for inspiration. He asserts that finding our ancestral foundations, and sense of belonging to a larger narrative, leads to finding our center of stability.

“Prince Nikolaos’ art is ideal to reopen the National Hellenic Museum,” says NHM Trustee Koudounis. “Beyond the shared Greek heritage, the shared values of reaching to one’s origins for fortitude and of the preservation of natural elements make this exhibit a fit for our community.”

Founded in 1983 as the Hellenic Museum and Cultural Center, the NHM’s current location was builtin 2011. The building is constructed with natural limestone and glass, materials that represent the artistic and technological traditions Greeks have impacted from the Classical Age to the modern day. It contains design elements associated with Aristotle such as earth, wind and fire; although water is not physically present, light and glassy surfaces are incorporated to represent the importance of water. The symbolic heart of the building is a dramatic, sky-lit east-to-west-staircase that represents the immigrant experience, cultural ties to Greece and the limitless potential – the resilience – of Greek Americans in the United States.

“As we reopen the National Hellenic Museum, once again coming together to celebrate not only our heritage and community, but also our role as global citizens, we are so very proud and honored to present this exhibit to Chicagoans and visitors to the city of all nationalities,” Koudounis added.

Tickets to the National Hellenic Museum, including HRH Prince Nikolaos’ exhibit are $10.

Located at 333 S. Halsted, the National Hellenic Museum is an anchor of Chicago’s Greektown. For Museum hours beginning Sept. 24, and information about Museum memberships, its exhibits and programs visit their website.

The clip captures the caustic nature of the track as he cuts through the production with one lyrical incision after another. For as ominous as it may be, it notably boasts what may be the most special guest of his entire career his son Yosohn.

25 recently crashed the Top 5 of the Billboard Top 200. It not only became his second straight bow in the Top 10 of the chart, but it also emerged as his highest debut yet. It has amassed over 182 million streams and earned widespread praise. Starring on its latest cover, KAZI Magazine went as far as to christen him “Chicago’s Street Rap Messiah”  and HYPEBEAST dubbed it, “Arguably the rapper’s most vulnerable record to date.”

Herbo opens up like never before on the record. Complex hailed it as “a confessional album that opens a window into his world at the quarter-century mark.” His raps rip deeper, while the hooks hit harder than ever. He’s delivered a project that speaks to the struggles of the Windy City and this generation while showing it’s possible to build an empire.

As such, Herbo has assembled his biggest, boldest, and the best body of work to date with 25. Among these 19 tracks, he recruited a cohort of A-list collaborators, including Polo G and Lil Tjay on “Cry No More,” 21 Savage on “T.O.P.”, and The Kid LAROI and Gunna on “You Can’t.” Through and through, his authoritative flows, incisive choruses, and raw heart shine.

He bulldozed a path for the project earlier this year with “Break Yoself,” and “Really Like That.” The FADER attested, “The tracks feel like siblings with their gunmetal-black sounds and visions of violence and wealth, though I can imagine turning up to Really Like That.” Plus, 25 boasts the fan-favorite “Statement,” nearing 10 million streams.

G Herbo is back, and he’s ready to flip the game upside down once and for all on 25. Merch including T-Shirts, Hoodies, and CD’s are available to shop HERE.

Rosemarie Releases EP Sinnergy

R&B’s newest addition, Rosemarie, has released her debut EP, Sinnergy (Bird Vision Entertainment/Interscope Records). The gorgeous nine-track EP comes packed with poetic lyricism, insatiable melodies and a feature from rap legend Juvenile on track “03 Love” — Rosemarie continues to carve her own space in the ever-evolving genre. Alongside this, fans will also hear previously released tracks “Vision” and “Henny Talk” on Sinnergy. For a full tracklisting see below, and listen to the EP in full here.

Speaking on the EP’s unique title and making of the project, Rosemarie had this to share:

“Personally, I have always struggled with balance, as do many others, and my life and work has mirrored that. The good, bad, light, dark. White lies, hidden truths. It’s a line we all straddle at one point or another. The title is telling of that synergy — the Saint versus Sinner, with an emphasis on Sinner. A quote by Nelson Mandela resonated with me deeply, “I am not a saint unless you think of a saint as a sinner who keeps on trying.” That, in a nutshell, is what I thought prefaced this particular body of work perfectly. I am ecstatic to share this music and have these emotions and moments out in the atmosphere. My highest hope is to have someone somewhere connect with me through my music, like my favorite artists and inspirations, do for me. It’s healing. That energy exchange is powerful, and I can’t wait to further my contributions.” — Rosemarie
