An expanded version of a digital exhibit previewed to thousands of Crypto enthusiasts at BTC 2021 Miami, the collection features original animated works by Ayla El-Moussa, REK0DE, Jon Noorlander and MBSJQ, and an original heritage photograph unearthed from the Playboy Archives, featuring a Playboy Bunny pictured water-skiing outside of the Miami Playboy Club in 1970. As an added bonus, the first collector of the heritage NFT will receive a framed limited-edition print, courtesy of the Playboy Archives. Playboy is now whitelisted as one of the very first curators on SuperRare’s platform with the ability to curate and release ongoing collections.

The Miami Beach Art Collection will be featured on July 10th during the first weekend of Decentraland’s second annual Art Week, a week-long virtual art fair featuring leading galleries and auction houses. The fully customized Miami Beach-themed space will feature the five NFTs surrounded by a selection of heritage covers and imagery from the Playboy Archives, as well as a sand- and sea-covered floor, palm trees, and a tropical color palette. Additional highlights will include a co-branded bar, an exclusive DJ set, and a curatorial overview of the exhibit provided by Playboy.

“We’re honored to join the SuperRare community, and so excited to present our first collaboration during Decentraland Art Week,” said Rachel Webber, Chief Brand Officer at Playboy. “We’ve long admired SuperRare’s curatorial vision and are thrilled to continue Playboy’s legacy as a curator of artistic expression on the platform. We also want to say a huge thank you to the always inspiring and innovative Decentraland team for inviting us to participate in their second inaugural art festival, and for their ongoing creative collaboration.”

“I’m super excited for SuperRare to be partnering with Playboy. The brand has supported incredible artists over the decades from Dalí to Warhol to Haring,” says John Crain, CEO of SuperRare. “NFTs are a new medium for artists and it’s great to see Playboy join the ecosystem.”

“Playboy made a huge splash in Decentraland back in May of this year with ‘Liquid Summer’, it’s first-ever NFT collection,” said Sam Hamilton, Community & Events Lead, Decentraland Foundation. “To return so soon with Miami Beach Art Collection shows not only how committed Playboy is to digital art and the artists but its belief in the power and future of the metaverse. Visitors to Art Week are in for a real treat.

About Playboy Art

For the past 67 years, Playboy has provided a platform for artists, writers, and photographers to express themselves with total freedom. Playboy’s contemporary arts program continues to build on that legacy by serving as a platform for more female artists and diverse voices, including recent collaborations with some of today’s most exciting creatives, such as Marilyn Minter, Hank Willis Thomas, JR, Nick Cave, Betty Tompkins and many more. At the core of this evolution is a continued desire to push the boundaries of storytelling, to marry high and low sensibilities, and to champion artists who are igniting important conversations surrounding censorship, sexuality, and freedom of expression.

YSB Tril Shines As Ultimate ‘HOTSHOT’ With New Video

Following the release of his debut mixtape last week, rising rookie YSB Tril (LISTEN TO THE KIDS/Interscope Records) dashes back with his latest visual, “HOTSHOT.” Directed by Nicholas Jandora, Tril’s humor is on full display. Under Jandora’s direction, Tril not only takes a drive with an elderly lady, but he also squeezes time to dunk on a kid and sits in on a therapy session. His penchant for thrill and theatrics continues when he gives his therapist some plastic surgery.

Watch here.

“HOTSHOT” is one of the many swaggering records whipped up by Tril on his 13-track project. Tril has previously garnered success with his previously released singles “AIN’T THE SAME” and “TOUCHDOWN,” featuring Bankrol Hayden as each record amassed over six million streams globally. The former became a popular song in the sports world after the NBA and Toronto Raptors used it before tip-off during the regular season. As part of his mixtape release, Tril performed “ALL DA ACTION” and “HOTSHOT” last week for the Toronto Ultra halftime show. To date, Tril’s HOTSHOT project is over 17 million streams.

So far in his career, the rising rookie showcased his versatility and rock-solid work ethic, amassing his streaming totals to a whopping five million independently. Last year, Tril earned him a performance slot for NBA #2KFest celebration. Tri’s rapid ascension equally enthuses publications. GrungeCake lauded the young hyphenate for his “undeniably catchy, singsongy hook and fast-paced verses” on “Do It Most.” Flaunt Magazine highlighted Tril’s action-packed video “ALL DA ACTION” and dubbed him “a force to be reckoned with.” Lyrical Lemonade applauded Tril for having a “natural and effortless flow you cannot teach.”

Tril also thrives on self-reliance, as he is proven to record his music, film his videos, and even developed a strong connection with his fans on social media. With Roddy Ricch and Juice WRLD serving as influences, YSB’s road to greatness will come sooner than later.

ARKELLS × BLINK ONCE

ARKELLS ANNOUNCE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED NEW STUDIO ALBUM, BLINK ONCE, DUE FOR RELEASE SEPTEMBER 30TH

NEW SINGLE ONE THING I KNOW” OUT TODAY

LIVE DATES TO BE ANNOUNCED SOON

Today, Arkells announced their sixth studio album, Blink Once, to be released on September 30th via Universal Music Canada. This new collection of songs prove Arkells continue to push their sound to new heights, with the anthemic Blink Once promising to live up to their famous live show.

Pre-save Blink Once now via your preferred platform.

Now more than ever, it seems our lives can change in the blink of an eye. We began working on this album before the world changed and this title felt right given where we’ve collectively landed. Everyday you wake up and you think you know a lot of stuff, then it turns out – you don’t.
– Arkells frontman Max Kerman

The bi-coastal project, recorded in LA and completed in Toronto, includes current hit single, “You Can Get It” featuring K.Flay, which has charted in the #1 spot at Canadian Alternative Radio for 4 weeks and is their fifth #1 at the format. “You Can Get It” was prominently featured in the E3 launch of the Forza Horizon 5 video game trailer this summer. Blink Once also includes #1 track “Years In The Making,” as well as “All Roads,” which serves as the soundtrack to #TogetherAgain, a national vaccine awareness PSA to combat vaccine hesitancy.

The announcement comes alongside the release of sure fire live stand-out, “One Thing I Know,” a rowdy, feel-good sing-a-along that is bursting at the seams. The music video was filmed after-hours at No Frills’ Dufferin Mall location in downtown Toronto, and finds the band mischievously performing the track at full throttle. “This song is about not being ashamed of who you are and where you come from,” notes Kerman. “The best version of yourself lets your colours show – to feel free, weird and unburdened by all the things out of our control.”

Watch the official “One Thing I Know” music video on YouTube now.

Regularly credited as one of the hardest working bands (period), Arkells have stayed ever-present, even in a global pandemic. Releasing three #1 singles and picking up the 2021 JUNO Award for Group of The Year, Arkells also filled their time off the road by releasing their first acoustic-leaning project, Campfire Chords – a deluxe LP & play-at-home guitar chord book inspired by their most beloved hits, and the band’s live streamed interactive music lessons that moved fans to learn new skills while “flattening the curve” from home.

About Arkells:

Hailed by The Globe and Mail as “the right kind of band for this decade,” Arkells are widely considered one of the most passionate, exuberant and in-demand live bands working today. As radio mainstays, sports-sync shoe-ins and curious students of culture, Arkells have remained ever present – building awareness and personal community experiences around their live shows and new music at every turn. The most emblematic example of this being The Rally, Arkells hometown concert that was hailed as one of the biggest headline shows in the country, and is slated to return in 2022. On the heels of three #1 singles, Arkells continue to unleash new music and tour dates as the band and their fans return to live in-person festivities. Their hotly anticipated new album, Blink Once, releases globally September 30th.

The track made its official debut and, thisweek, is at #1 on Latin Digital Songs Sales, #2 on Latin Streaming Songs, #7 on the Global chart, # 10 on the Global 200, #41 on the Hot 100 and # 4 on Hot Latin Songs.

On the other hand, the original version of AM is one of the most listened to songs globally on Spotify and in addition to being among the 15 most popular songs on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart (which unites all genres from the Latin market such as Tropical, Regional Mexican and, of course, reggaeton), this week it received a gold record certification by the RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America).
