Fabiio Q×A

Emerging Puerto Rican artist Fabiio is shaking up the Latin music scene with his recent release of “Trap de Diseñador,” released via AP Global and EMM (Elite Media and Marketing.) Not only a talented musician, but also a professional skateboarder, Fabiio is a refreshing new artist to watch. His optimistic, distinctive, “feel good music” is inspired by trendy boutique fashion and other trap artists, including Travis Scott. The self-proclaimed Trapper (trap and rap) artist sat down with 360 Magazine to discuss the reaction to his latest release, his songwriting process, and his dream music collaborations.

When did you first begin making music?

I began making music when I was twenty-five years old.

What inspired you to enroll in music school and create a music career?

My friend, Lil Wayne.

Your feel good approach to music is infectious! How do you maintain such a positive outlook on life?

With my confidence!

Who would be a dream music collaborator of yours?

Travis Scott and Lil Wayne.

What does your songwriting process look like?

I start my songwriting process by listening to and creating my own beats. Then, I get my muse.

Your music has a signature Trapper (trap rapper) sound to it. In future music releases, are you looking to experiment with your sound or continue this signature style?

In the future, I will be experimenting with my sound and continuing my signature style.

You are a passionate, talented skateboarder. Do you ever get inspiration for songwriting while skating?

I don’t get inspiration while skating because I am focused on tricks! Skating is hard.

What has the reaction to “Trap de Diseñador” been like from fans?

The reaction to “Trap de Diseñador” has been very positive, and the fans say it has a fresh sound. They like the beat that I made with my friend, J.S.

ABOUT THE BLACK CROWES

In 1990, when journalists were lamenting the death of rock, as cheesy pop and hair metal dominated the charts, Atlanta’s Black Crowes gave the genre a swift and much needed kick in the ass with Shake Your Money Maker. Fueled by singles “Jealous Again,” “Twice As Hard,” “She Talks To Angels,” and the break-through cover of Otis Redding’s “Hard To Handle,” the band immediately took the rock world by storm, topping Rolling Stone’s “Best New American Band Readers Poll” in late 1990. The Black Crowes went on to release eight studio and four live albums, selling in the tens of millions along the way; they sold out shows around the world; had legendary guitarist Jimmy Page join as a member; got kicked off a tour with ZZ Top for insulting the sponsor; got screwed by bad record deals; got married and divorced, fought amongst themselves and against the rest of the world. In other words, they’ve done everything a legendary rock group should do.

ABOUT THE CODA COLLECTION

The Coda Collection is a multi-media company founded by a team of legendary musicians, music industry veterans, and entrepreneurs that enables fans to see the most iconic moments and artists in music with a new perspective.

Bahari – Forget You

Rising alt-pop duo Bahari present a brand-new EP entitled Forget You. Get the EP at all DSPs HERE.

The EP includes fan favorites such as the Gold-certified “Savage” [feat. “Whole Lotta Money” rapper BIA], “Jackie Kennedy,” and “Bipolar”—which have collectively generated 10 million streams and counting in advance of the release. Additionally, it boasts a pair of new tracks. “Hurt” hinges on their haunting and hypnotic vocal interplay as guitar curls around glitchy production. Raw emotion seeps through each hook. Meanwhile, the title track “Forget You” fuses icy synths to a head-nodding bass line.  It climaxes on the entrancing and ethereal chorus, “Even though I try my best to, I can’t forget you.”

Throughout, Forget You represents the incredible shared creative instincts and intuition of the duo—Ruby Carr and Natalia Panzarella—translated into engaging, entrancing, and enigmatic pop. They make vulnerability vital.

Regarding the EP, Bahari explained, “We wanted to make a body of music that we felt was our truest selves. The writing process was incredibly honest. We wanted to open up about things we have gone through. The past year, we have spent so much time reflecting and writing from our hearts; these songs really embody that. Though these songs have different meanings, whether about a heartbreak, loss of a loved one or dealing with mental health, the vulnerability of each song is really what brings the Forget You EP together as a collection.”

Bahari and VAST

Bahari joined forces with VAST, the next generation platform that helps creators build their network and net worth, and lent “Bipolar” to a new PSA for Project Healthy Minds, the national nonprofit confronting one of the defining issues of our time: the mental health crisis. Along with a live-streamed roundtable discussion moderated by model, actor and self-acceptance coach Hayley Hasselhoff, the initiative includes an auction of AI-fueled NFT’s culled from the “Bipolar” music video itself. The new visual features a storyline that depicts manic mood swings between its pair of on-screen couples, dramatized with an evocative overlay of effects and graphics generated entirely in AI by Seyhan Lee and AI artist Lulu XXX. The auction takes place today, July 9, at 12p PST on MakersPlace, with 20% of the net proceeds to be donated to Project Healthy Minds. This marks one of the first integrated music and visual NFT offerings designed to benefit mental health. The livestreamed event is currently available to view on demand HERE. In addition, today at 9a PST, MakersPlace will host a discussion with Bahari on Twitter Spaces where they will chat with the tech and creative teams behind their charitable initiative. Click HERE to join the conversation.

Be on the lookout for more from Bahari soon. They continue to make music you won’t forget in 2021.

About Bahari

Every so often, two separate journeys collide to form the perfect union in just the right place at just the right time. Bahari blossoms from a similar confluence of circumstances. Singer and keyboardist Ruby Carr hails from the tiny island of Lamu off the coast of Kenya, while singer and bassist Natalia Panzarella was born in Nashville but grew up in Southern California. Each of their experiences shapes a dynamic, diverse, and dark take on alternative pop. Generating over 650 million streams and receiving acclaim from Ladygunn, Nylon, Billboard, Ones To Watch, and more, the Los Angeles-based duo bring a shared vision to life. After meeting at a songwriting session at 16-years-old, the girls formed a lifelong bond. Shortly after, Bahari initially made waves with “Wild Ones,” which generated over 40 million Spotify streams. They maintained a consistent pace with the Dancing on the Sun EP and singles “Get Together” and “Fucked Up.” Along the way, they supported Selena Gomez and Birdy on tour and teamed up with Zedd, ILLENIUM and Grey for collaborations. Bahari earned a viral hit with 2018’s “Savage,” which took on a second life in 2020 with an official remix featuring BIA. The song has generated over 100 million total streams and views and is currently being utilized in promos for “American Horror Stories”. Last year, the duo’s hit collaboration with ILLENIUM, “CRASHING” was featured in the To All The Boys: P.S. I Still Love You Original Soundtrack. Now in partnership with Epic Records, the pair are gearing up for even more new music with their new EP Forget You.

BREAKOUT COUNTRY STAR KIDD G ANNOUNCES FIRST HEADLINING TOUR, TICKETS ON SALE NOW HERE, PRE-SAVE UPCOMING RECORD SUMMER IN A SMALL TOWN HERE

Amassing over 100 million streams and drawing praise from Billboard and more, fast-rising Country star Kidd G announces dates for his Down Home Boy Tour where he will be performing alongside fellow country artist Spencer Crandall. Kicking off in Houston, TX this Fall and ending at the iconic Gramercy Theatre in New York, the seven stops will mark the first time that the 18-year-old headlines since gaining notoriety in 2020 with his viral hit Dirt Road. The official announcement came earlier this week via Kidd G’s Instagram. Tickets are available now HERE.

Be on the lookout for more music very soon from Kidd G, and pre-save his upcoming single Summer in a Small Town HERE.

Along with officially surpassing 100K subscribers on YouTube, Kidd G recently enlisted Lil Uzi Vert for a fun remix of Teenage Dream. The track was an instant hit, gaining recognition from HYPEBEAST, XXL, among others. Kidd G also linked with longtime country music heavyweight Colt Ford to assist with a remix to his viral hit song Down The Road. Both achievements arrive on the heels of Kidd G’s full-length project, Teenage Dream: 1000 Miles from Georgia, the deluxe version of his debut EP, Teenage Dream, a six-track project which features a collision of potent beats and gritty yet melodic guitar work working together on the 18-year-old’s first solid body of work. Throughout the EP, that sound creates a powerful backdrop to the slice-of-life songwriting many fans first discovered on Dirt Road — the October 2020 release that quickly landed on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and amassed 5 million YouTube views in little over a month on the official music video (16M views to date). The Georgia-bred singer/songwriter recently caught the attention of CMT, who hailed his music as earwarming and undeniable, and THE NEW YORK TIMES, who exclusively profiled him earlier this year online and in print.

For more information on Kidd G follow his Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.

ABOUT KIDD G

Growing up in the small Georgia town of Hamilton (population 1,130), Kidd G first found fame online through TikTok and SoundCloud, where he got his start posting songs he’d recorded with his friend Nolie Beats. In spring 2020 he caught the attention of Rebel Music, who signed him on the strength of his genre-warping talents. While early tracks like his debut single Sorry lean toward traditional hip-hop, he later brought an element of old-school country into his songwriting. As he continued posting his music on SoundCloud, Kidd G soon amassed a dedicated following undeniably drawn to his down-home charm and the honest detail of his lyrics.

As he continued exploring his country roots, Kidd G soon came up with Dirt Road —a nostalgia-soaked ballad that quickly went viral, its video surpassing 5 million YouTube views in little over a month. I love country because it feels so natural to me, and you can really tell stories in the songs, says Kidd G, naming Hank Williams Jr. among the artists he was raised on. Now having surpassed 1.5M monthly Spotify listeners, his tracks have seen radio play from KIXX Country Radio in Australia, and reached new peaks on highly coveted country playlists including Amazon Music’s ‘Country Heat’ (peaked at #2), and Spotify’s ‘Hot Country’ (peaked at #3). Following his new partnership with Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co., Kidd G is now back in the studio and eager to share all new music that will continue to showcase his unique raw talent.

Lillet By The Waterfront

By: Kai Yeo

French, smooth, and loved by James Bond – meet Lillet, our new favorite bottle for the summer. Last night, we got to sit down with Lillet for an intimate dinner event at The Waterfront in Venice Beach, serving delicious food options paired with handcrafted Lillet cocktails perfect for the season.

As soon as we got seated, oysters were ready with the Lillet Spritz, a wonderful Rosé blended with The Waterfront’s house soda water topped with a fresh orange slice. The Lillet Rose is a clear, salmon pink rose that has a light aroma of berries, orange blossom, and grapefruit. The fruity sweetness of Lillet mixed with the bitterness of tonic water makes it an ideal pre-dinner drink, best served fresh.

While waiting for more dishes to be prepared, guests at the table got to make conversation and get to know one another better over our glass of Spritz. Brand ambassador and host of the evening, Lauren Trickett, also gave us an expert rundown of the wines we were having and a little background information on Lillet as we were getting settled. For the unfamiliar, Lillet is a French aromatized aperitif wine made with a blend of Bordeaux grapes and fortified with a blend of citrus liqueurs. There are three varieties to choose from: Lillet Blanc (a white wine made with Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon grapes), Lillet Rosé (a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Sémillon grapes) and Lillet Rouge (a red wine with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon).

Known for its’ layered and lively notes of fruit and florals, we got to pair the Lillet Blanc with our Entrée for the evening (a medium rare Steak and fries for our table). Honeyed, floral with jasmine, candied orange with lemon and fresh mint aromas, our cocktail had a lovely, long aftertaste with evergreen notes. Lillet says, “The golden madame is the oldest aperitif of the range. Ready at your service, long aromas that will last to the end of your journey!”

Everything that was brought out to us was a delight, but the star of the evening was without a doubt the Lillet Froze that was served for dessert. On the menu, a “thirst quenching frozen classic” blending watermelon and Lillet Rosé with coconut water, lime, and lavender. Bubbly goodness made even fresher! Looks are deceiving because I remember gasping after taking the first sip.

With scrumptious food options and even better cocktail options, our evening with Lillet and The Waterfront was wonderful. It is safe to say Lillet will be all we’re drinking for the rest of the summer.

Menu Highlights: Summer Corn Agnolotti (a personal favorite), Rotisserie Chicken (the guests next to us ordered this… and we traded them for our steak.)

Drink Highlights: Froze (don’t miss out – this drink is perfect for the summer!)

Stephen Sanchez – Kayla

BUZZING SINGER & SONGWRITER STEPHEN SANCHEZ RELEASES NEW SINGLE KAYLA DEBUT EP PRODUCED BY IAN FITCHUCK [KACEY MUSGRAVES] COMING SOON

 Listen to Kayla HERE

After asserting himself as a modern day troubadour with millions of independent streams and views, buzzing singer and songwriter Stephen Sanchez shares a new single entitled Kayla today via Republic Records. Listen to KaylaHERE.

Stephen wrote the tune 100% solo but recruited Ian Fitchuck [Kacey Musgraves] for production in Nashville. As the story goes, he had just gotten out of a relationship and penned the tune about a female friend, Kayla, who he’d long harbored unspoken feelings for. She loved the song, but had moved away. Now, this story of unrequited love paves the way for his upcoming debut EP executive produced by Fitchuck. On the track, pedal steel wraps around delicately picked acoustic guitar as Stephen’s voice rings out with raw emotion on the hook, Won’t you lie next to me, oh Kayla.

On the track Stephen Said, I wrote Kayla while sitting alone in my bedroom thinking about this girl (Kayla) I had a thing for 2 years ago. I wanted to write her this song because at the time she didn’t see all the wonder I saw in her. I wanted to capture that wonder in hopes that maybe she’d see it for herself someday. With this song I hope people are brought back to a child-like innocence all love has at its core and that the lyrics would ‘hit-home’ enough for someone to look at love with a little more heart.

Next up, he takes the stage at Bonnaroo this fall, which marks the first time he’s not only playing a festival, but also attending one!

18-year-old Stephen Sanchez pens the kind of tunes that resonate in any era. They’d work just as well on social media as they would at Woodstock. He introduced himself with his independent debut single Lady By The Sea, racking up 4 million Spotify streams, 2 million views and 480K likes on TikTok, and received plugs from mega-creators a la Spencer X, Abigail Barlow, and Jenna Raine.

The success landed him a deal with Republic Records, and he’ll be unveiling more new music very soon.

ALICE LONGYU GAO REMIXES “MOVE IT TO THE SIDE”

John-Robert releases a new remix to stand out track “Move It To The Side” by Alice Longyu Gao, today via Warner Records. You can listen to the new remix HERE. You can watch the visualizer HERE.

A fan favorite, “Move It To The Side” was originally released earlier this year on John-Robert’s ‘Healthy Baby Boy, Pt 1’ EP. Alice’s “Softboy Dancing In the Klurb Flip” integrates elements of John-Robert’s alluring melancholy-melody with a jacked up tempo and her recognizable, exaggerated pop lyricism. The result is a track unique to Alice’s own personal and flamboyant style, as she serves up her second remixer credit to date. Alice’s new take on the track demonstrates her manifestation of a confident and care-free persona that doesn’t get wound up with anxieties and pressures of the modern dating scene and sees her flip the script on John-Robert’s original.

About the remix, John-Robert says, “As a musician it’s inspiring when you subconsciously have a formula for your writing process and then an artist comes along and breaks every one of those rules in a fresh and exciting way. I admire Alice because she’s a smart, self-assured badass, unapologetic with her production, lyrics, visuals, thoughts and art. I’m eternally grateful that she has blessed me with this version of ‘Move It To The Side.’”

Alice Longyu Gao adds, “I am usually the dumb bitch. It takes me a second to fancy someone and it takes me forever to stop trying to get them to like me. So I was really visioning myself being a bad gal in this remix—calling him the ‘emotional one,’ cuz I met a lot of heterosexual white bros who love to gaslight and guilt trip women, when in fact they are just too insecure to care. I am balling with my cash, having fun and ghost his text, visioning him being all upset. This remix is my revenge. I chopped John-Robert’s original vocals in a hard-core way so the remix shares a new perspective. Also, it won’t be an ‘Alice Longyu Gao’ piece of music if the beat doesn’t switch like 100 times. So yeah, this remix will drive you crazy on the dance floor.”

At age 16, John-Robert was invited out to Los Angeles by mega-producer Ricky Reed who’s described him as “a transcendent, once-in-a-generation singer and songwriter.” The now 20-year-old from Edinburg, VA who is signed to Reed’s Nice Life Recording Company and Warner Records continues to build-upon his budding musical career, most recently releasing his Healthy Baby Boy, Pt. 1 earlier this year. The songs on the EP illustrate real life coming of age stories and detail the challenges that come from leaving your support system in small town behind to chase your dreams. He’s collaborated with the likes of Alessia Cara, Zack Sekoff, Kathleen and Nate Merceau, and attracted industry praise from SPINAmerican SongwriterOnes To WatchIdolatorEARMILK and more.

As the only child from a conservative family, coming to America alone at the age of 17 was her chance, Alice Longyu Gao is a boundary pushing pop artist with a knack for making positive social change through her work. With co-signs from industry heavyweights like Lady Gaga, The Weeknd and Selena Gomez, as well as features in NME i-D, PAPER Magazine, Billboard, The FADER and V Magazine, Longyu Gao has gained recognition for her ability to blend hyper-energetic, avant-garde pop beats with interpretive, kaleidoscopic visuals. Beyond the music, Longyu Gao is a passionate activist for human rights with a longstanding track record of work supporting issues focusing on LGBTQ+ justice, eating disorder recovery, sustainability in fashion and food, and public-funded art education for underprivileged minority groups.

Ahead of the album’s release, Staples gave fans an early preview of the project sharing the first two singles off the LP — LAW OF AVERAGES, and ARE YOU WITH THAT?, LAW OF AVERAGES  was released alongside a companion music video (available to watch HERE) featuring a montage of voyeuristic moments in Long Beach, CA, and imagery that embodies Black joy and highlights the beauty within the fringes.

Of the new Kenny Beats-produced LP, Staples says, This project really gives much more information about me that wasn’t out there before. That’s why I went with that title. I feel like I’ve been trying to tell the same story. As you go on in life, your point of view changes. This is another take on myself that I might not have had before.

Throughout the LP, Staples ropes in recordings of intimate chats with loved ones for poignant interludes that provide insight into who he is. THE APPLE & THE TREE features his mother recalling moments she let anger push her into a situation, hindsight now tells her succumbing to anger did nothing to serve her. LAKEWOOD MALL stars one of Vince’s best friends Pac Slim remembering a night where Vince decided not to go to a party that ended in gunshots. Other standout tracks include ARE YOU WITH THAT? and TAKE ME HOME, which showcase his dynamic musicality and knack for layering hard-hitting bars over infectious beats that push the creative envelope.

Elsewhere on the album, we discover that Staples deals with the anxiety of not being able to decipher friend from foe at times as who cruises through streets he grew up on. Moreover, the tug of war between the music star life and staying planted in the soil he bloomed from doesn’t seem to gnaw at him as it does with others as fortunate as he.

The celebrated rapper’s latest body of work is also just the beginning of his busy 2021. He is currently working on a number of creative projects with additional details to be announced throughout the year.

I’m a mind more than I am an entertainer to a lot of people, Staples says, adding, I appreciate that my fanbase is willing to go on this ride with me. I’m ready to diversify what we’re doing and see how we affect the world.
