GASHI – Don’t Pass on Love

Rapper GASHI just released his newest single, “Don’t Pass on Love.” It’s a fun, catchy track that’s perfect for summer. Like many of GASHI’s other works, it takes inspiration from other genres, this time having influences of R&B and reggae. The result is a good time. GASHI and Space Primates (Flo RIda, Chris Brown, David Guetta) produced the song. The artist stated about the track, We’ve been thru a lot as people the past two years so it’s time for us to start accepting love and don’t pass on it”

The accompanying music video was also released on Youtube and features GASHI dancing and smiling in a mansion surrounded by beautiful women. The video is uplifting, joyous, and beautiful at the same time. GASHI co-directed the music video with Jon Primo.

About GASHI

Born in Libya, GASHI spent much of his young life as a refugee, moving from country to country.  His family eventually settled in Brooklyn, NY, where he was introduced to music at a very young age.  GASHI absorbed a melting pot of musical influences throughout his youth, resulting in the formation of his own unique sonic palette that blends together different genres of music.  His dynamic sound has allowed GASHI to collaborate with a wide range of talents ranging from Chris Brown to Travis Scott.  In the last couple of years, he released two studio albums, sold out venues across the globe, and has accumulated over 720 million streams with over 130 million video views worldwide.

Last summer, GASHI released his sophomore album 1984 which saw GASHI exploring and harboring new sounds that brought you back to his favorite time – the 80’s and featured his breakout hit “Mama” with the legendary Sting. He also released his documentary GASHI: Now You Know (watch here) and performed his first ever livestream performance featuring tracks from the 1984 album (watch the performance here).

Zavor Kitchen Electrics New Air Fryer Lid Tops

Zavor is pleased to announce the newest addition to their kitchen electrics – The Zavor Air Fryer Lid. Air fryers are quickly becoming the latest trend in healthy cooking at home, but not everyone has the space for more electrics in their already cluttered kitchen. The Zavor Air Fryer Lid solves this conundrum by turning your Zavor multi-cooker pot or stovetop pressure cooker pot into an air fryer at the swap of a lid. Best when paired with a 6qt. or 8qt. stainless steel cooking pot, the Zavor Air Fryer Lid can air fry, crisp, toast, bake, roast, reheat, and more!

Zavor’s Air Fryer Lid comes with everything needed to make healthy treats at home, including a stainless-steel frying basket, silicone-coated stainless steel cooking tongs, and a silicone mat. All the accessories are dishwasher safe. It also includes a downloadable e-recipe book with over 25 delicious recipes made just for this lid. It features two LED displays, a safety handle on top, and a stainless-steel rim with different lid fittings for different cookware sizes. The air fryer lid features eight preset cooking programs – Chicken, Fish, Fries, Bake, Pizza, Vegetables, Hamburger, and Reheat. Each cooking program comes with preset cooking temperatures and times for optimal results. The temperature range for the Zavor Air Fryer Lid, including the 8 preset functions, is 165°F-455°F. The time range is 1 minute to 2 hours.

Programming the Zavor Air Fryer Lid is incredibly easy, as it has two separate LED screens and buttons for temperature and time adjustments. Each LED screen is marked for Time (clock icon) or Temperature (˚F). The lid can be easily programmed to the desired cooking times and temperatures with the + and – buttons located on either side of each LED screen. If the + and – buttons for the Time screen are pressed simultaneously, the Mute feature will activate and mute all beeps and alerts. The safety handle on the top of the lid is a key feature, offering a safe option for handling the lid before and after cooking, as well as during the cooking process. The air fryer lid will only work if the safety handle is completely folded down into place, otherwise, the lid will not turn on. If raised while cooking, the lid will automatically stop running until the handle is lowered back down.

Zavor’s Air Fryer Lid comes with a frying basket to easily replicate the basket-style air frying, making it easy for air to circulate on all sides of the food and even easier to toss foods halfway through the cooking time when necessary. The cooking progress can easily be checked without the need to remove the lid from the cooking pot thanks to the tempered glass on the lid. Once the cooking time is up, the air fryer lid will automatically shut off to avoid overcooking or burning foods.

The Air Fryer Lid will be available July 2021. Suggested retail price for the air fryer lid is $79.95. For more information on Zavor’s line of pressure cookers, cookware, and small appliances please visit the official website.

About AJR

Re-envisioning what pop can be in the 21st century, AJR unassumingly emerged as a ubiquitous hit-making outlier and one of the biggest indie bands in the world. Since 2012, the multi platinum indie pop trio, Adam [bass, vocals], Jack [vocals, guitar], and Ryan [ukulele, piano, vocals], have generated billions of streams and earned one triple-platinum single, one double-platinum single, four platinum singles, and one platinum album. 2019’s Neotheater marked their biggest first-week debut, bowing at #8 on the Billboard Top 200, #1 on the Top Alternative Albums Chart, and #1 on the Top Rock Albums Chart. Cemented as part of the modern zeitgeist, Spotify touted Sober Up [feat. Rivers Cuomo] among the Best Rock Songs of the 2010s, while Apple Music included Weak on its Best Alt Songs of the 2010s. Not to mention, they remain one of the 500 Most-Listened to Artists on Spotify. On the heels of Neotheater, they dropped the 2020 platinum blockbuster BANG!, which they performed on TODAY, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and even at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The song also cracked the Top 10 at three radio formats, peaking at No. 6 on the Top 40 chart, No. 2 on Alternative radio and No. 1 on Adult Pop and marked their first Top 10 entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Now, the band open up their world like never before on their fourth full-length album, OK ORCHESTRA [AJR Productions/BMG] introduced by the single Way Less Sad.

The Rise in Sales of Nintendo Switch

As one of the most popular consoles globally, Nintendo Switch witnessed an influx of new players and fans since its release back in 2017. According to data presented by SafeBettingSites, Nintendo Switch sales jumped by 50% in a year, with its lifetime unit sales reaching 85.7 million as of May.

More than 26M Nintendo Switch Consoles Sold in a Year

Following the disappointing sales of its predecessor, the Wii U, the Switch was seen as the new hope for Nintendo in the ongoing battle with other console giants, PlayStation and Xbox. Acting as both a portable and home console system and offering a seamless and unified experience switching between them, the console soon started to gain popularity in the gaming community.

A year after its launch in March 2017, the Nintendo Switch hit 15.5 million sold units worldwide, revealed Statista and VGChartz data. The next two years witnessed an influx of new fans, with its lifetime sales reaching 49.8 million units in December 2019. However, as the entire gaming industry exploded amid the lockdowns, Nintendo sold almost 10 million Switch units in the first half of 2020 only. The surge in demand continued since then, with more than 26 million Nintendo Switch consoles sold in the last year.

Compared to other top-selling consoles, Nintendo Switch lifetime sales is still significantly lower than 115.6 million PS4 units sold so far. However, statistics show that Nintendo Switch sold 35.6 million units more than Xbox One, whose lifetime sales hit 50.1 million this month.

North America Generates One-third of Total Sales Revenue

Analyzed by geography, North America represents the leading Nintendo Switch region, with 32.1 million units sold as of May. Europe and Japan followed with 22.2 million and 19.9 million, respectively.

One of the key reasons for the Switch’s success is the popularity of Nintendo’s first-party titles. Blockbuster series like Mario, The Legend of Zelda, and Pokémon are exclusive to Nintendo, meaning that fans can only play them on Nintendo consoles.

With 35.4 million sold units as of March, Mario Kart 8 Delux ranked as the top-selling Nintendo Switch game. Animal Crossing: New Horizons ranked second with 32.6 million in total sales. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Pokémon Sword/Pokémon Shield follow with 23.8 million, 22.2 million, and 21.1 million in unit sales, respectively.

Saahil Bhargava Competes in LA Shorts International Film Festival

Indian-American music artist Saahil Bhargava to compete against Paul McCartney, Yo-Yo Ma at LA Shorts International Film Festival for Best Music Video Award

Animated short film award winner becomes qualified for Oscars 2022

Music artist and writer Saahil Bhargava jolted awake to news of being an official selection in two categories at the LA Shorts International Film Festival, one of the world’s most prestigious and largest international short film festivals.

Nominated in two key categories (Animation, Music Video) for the video of his song Kohima, Saahil finds himself in stellar company. The list of nominations includes Paul McCartney’s latest music video When Winter Comes and Yo-Yo Ma’s concert See Me.

In its 25th year, LA Shorts International Film Festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences (Oscar®), the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA), and the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (Canadian Screen Awards).  Throughout the fest’s history, 60 LA Shorts filmmakers have earned Academy Award® nominations, with 16 taking home the Oscar. In other words, if Saahil Bhargava’s Kohima wins best animated short film, then it will be qualified to compete for the Oscars in 2022.

LA Shorts International Film Festival founder/director Robert Arentz said, It is such a high honor for the LA Shorts International Film Festival to welcome Kohima into the competition this year, which is our 25th anniversary. Only a handful of films were accepted into the brand new Music/Dance category, and Kohima is one of those elite few. In fact, we created the special Music/Dance program due to high-quality content from exceptional artists, such as Paul McCartney, Yo-Yo Ma, and of course, India’s own Saahil Bhargava!

Saahil’s music has always been about telling great stories, especially through his companion screen content. For the innovative and groundbreaking Kohima, Saahil collaborated with Big Bang Music and co-directed the music video with Harmeet Rahal to bring his vision to life. With Kohima, Saahil Bhargava addresses the plethora of emotions – from panic to despair – of a combat soldier. Kohima is set during the infamous World War II battle in the northeast of India.

Curiously, Saahil’s Kohima is trending among video game fans worldwide. On YouTube, gamers flood Kohima’s comments section with love. Mostly, they marvel about the ways that the song effectively captures a serviceman’s journey. It’s a big win for any independent artist, and Saahil is exceptionally grateful.

Talking about the exciting nomination Saahil Bhargava says, It is a huge honor to be recognized alongside so many amazing artists. Kohima was written to be a story about the horrors of war from the perspective of an individual soldier, and I think this video really captures the pain and terror that soldiers go through in a brutal battle. I’m very excited for more people to watch this video and also hope that my future songs and videos can have a similar impact.

Co-director and animator Harmeet Rahal says, It was such a great challenge, bringing the Battle of Kohima to life, and exploring the horrors of war through the story of an abandoned, lone soldier. It was great working with Saahil and Big Bang Music. It’s an honor to be nominated alongside such amazing work, and I hope this helps more people learn about this hidden piece of Indian history.

Oscar Lang × 21 Century Hobby

Fast-rising London based artist and multi-instrumentalist Oscar Lang has released the video for his latest single, “21 st Century Hobby,” off his debut album Chew The Scenery, out August 13 on Dirty Hit. PRESS HERE to watch the video which sees Lang surrounded by a mirage of the elements and advertisements that inundate you on social media and the toxic effects it creates. “21 st Century Hobby” is currently featured on a variety of top playlists including Spotify’s All New Indie, The Indie List, and Today’s Indie Rock as well as Apple Music’s New Music Daily and New In Alternative. PRESS HERE to listen/stream the track and PRESS HERE to pre-order Chew The Scenery.

“21 st Century Hobby is a tune based on the idea of society’s obsession with sharing your life online and comparing yourself to other people,” Lang shares. “There was one point where I was spending 13 hours a week on social media, which equated to about a month every year. That was a really dark time for me – I always thought that it would never affect me, but it took some time to realize that it was subconsciously affecting my mental health.”

“21 st Century Hobby” joins “Stuck,” which was written to capture the emotions and complicated feelings that are often attached to the embarrassing situations we replay in our minds, and “Are You Happy?,” written about a friend having a really hard time, in building on the cohesive blueprint of Lang’s debut album. Chew The Scenery is his most ambitious release to date, which spans topics such as growing pains, love, romance, friendships and the pitfalls of social media on our collective mental health.

All three singles demonstrate Lang’s versatility and growth as a songwriter, highlighting Chew The Scenery’s scuzzy indie rock dynamics, psychedelic flourishes, and orchestral grandiosity. “Over the past two years the sound of my music has changed a lot, from bedroom pop to rock” Lang explains. “We recorded the album over a month up in Liverpool. It was a nice break away from the tedious lockdown in the UK as I got to spend a month away with my mates doing what I love. I think you can hear that built-up boredom being released on the record.”

Chew The Scenery furthers Lang’s rise following a momentous 2020 for Lang which yielded the release of three EPs, Antidote to Being BoredHand Over Your Head and Overthunk. Lang’s “Apple Juice” has been featured in EA Sports game FIFA 2021while “She Likes Another Boy” has found an audience on TikTok  the platform where “coffee,” the track Lang produced for beabadoobee, has found viral legs in Powfu’s “death bed (coffee for your head)”, which has collected over 998 million streams on Spotify alone. Along the way, Lang has also gathered praise from SPIN, Ones To Watch, All Things Go, BBC Radio 1’s Jack Saunders, Annie Mac, and Huw Stephens, The FADER, The Line Of Best Fit, NME, CLASH, The Guardian, The Sunday Times and others.

Iconic Texas Auto Group Goes Green

Cavender Auto Group is the first auto dealer group in San Antonio to install solar carports by partnering with local company, Big Sun Solar. The iconic auto company tapped Big Sun Solar to build and install solar carports at five of its San Antonio-area dealerships and its recently-announced Cavender Collision Center at Wetmore Road. The carports will provide Cavender’s inventory of vehicles with protection from inclement South Texas weather while providing valuable renewable energy savings on their electric bills.

Cavender has been working to incorporate sustainability initiatives into its operations, and determined investing in solar energy was its next step. The decision greatly enhances the customer experience for Cavender car buyers by providing shade and decreasing the interior temperature of the vehicles during the summer months.

Installation of the solar carports is nearly complete at Cavender Buick GMC West Loop 1604 at Culebra Road. Cavender Cadillac and Land Rover San Antonio are underway, and the remaining San Antonio-area locations will follow.

The locations include:

– Cavender Buick GMC West — 7400 West Loop 1604

– Cavender Cadillac — 7625 North Loop 1604

– Cavender Chevrolet — 30700 IH-10, Boerne, TX

– Land Rover of San Antonio –13660 West Interstate 10

– Cavender Buick GMC North — 17811 San Pedro Avenue

– Cavender Collision Center —  Wetmore Road (opening Fall 2021)

– Cavender Grande Ford — 4562 IH-10 East (opening TBD)

Big Sun Solar, formerly known as Go Smart Solar, has expanded rapidly since its founding in 2016 and has built more solar carports than any other company in Texas, indicating the region’s increasing demand for clean energy.

Cavender Auto Group President, Bobby Cavender, expressed his excitement about the company’s investment in sustainability.

“Solar carports make perfect sense for Cavender Auto Group. Their energy lowers our electric bills, they provide shade for our customers and protection from damaging hail storms,” said Cavender. “We are thrilled to be the first auto group in San Antonio to embrace solar carports and we are grateful to Big Sun Solar for making it happen.”

Robert Miggins, CEO and Co-Founder of Big Sun Solar, expressed his excitement and gratitude to the San Antonio businesses investing in a more sustainable community.

“The momentum to build a more green city is growing,” said Miggins. “Solar has been available for many years, but with recent innovations, it has become more accessible for more people. Cavender Auto Group is one of the many businesses that are taking another step toward reducing their carbon footprint and improving the customer experience. San Antonio is a top-10 city in the United States for solar energy because its residents and corporate citizens value sound financial investments that also produce clean energy. Cavender is a shining example of this philosophy.”

About Big Sun Solar

Trusted by leading brands such as Cavender, Baywood Hotels, and Rush Enterprises, Big Sun Solar is #1 in customer service for Texas businesses. While every project is designed for maximum financial returns for their clients, it’s Big Sun’s Net Promoter Score of 88 that sets them apart as an industry leader. They have over 45 years of combined experience in rooftop, carport, and ground-mount solar systems coupled with experience from partnering directly with CPS Energy to build 5 megawatts (MW) of community-owned solar power.
