David Brown Automotive has expanded into central London with a conveniently located new showroom site in the prestigious St John’s Wood area. The purpose-built retail space allows customers the chance to experience both of the brand’s flagship models; Speedback GT and Mini Remastered.

The well-located London site serves alongside David Brown Automotive’s headquarters in Silverstone, where the company has been based since 2017, having relocated there from their original roots of Coventry. The new St John’s Wood showroom allows customers easy access to its cars in the city while retaining its factory location in Northamptonshire as a retail space and workshop facility, where every car made that wears the brand’s badge undergoes thousands of hours of intricate manufacture, using state-of-the-art engineering and traditional craftsmanship.

With space to display up to three cars indoors and three outdoors at once, the new London showroom site offers customers a unique insight into the highly customizable and bespoke options buyers can specify when purchasing a car from David Brown Automotive. The dealership site is on the doorstep of London’s city streets, allowing customers to experience both Speedback GT and Mini Remastered in everyday conditions with test drives available by appointment. Both of David Brown Automotive’s flagship models are accessible at the new showroom, as will future models to be announced over the coming years.

Michelle Gay, Sales & Marketing Director at David Brown Automotive, said:

We’re delighted to expand into London, the home city of so many of our customers and where many more travel to regularly. We’ve made it easier than ever for discerning luxury car buyers to come and see our Speedback GT and Mini Remastered models up close at a location that is highly convenient and well-equipped to give them a fantastic brand experience. The cars we craft by hand at our Silverstone facility are so well suited to the London lifestyle, so we feel very much at home extending our brand into the capital.

The expansion into new retail space represents the first phase of growth for David Brown Automotive since the company secured new investment in July 2020. This new era is heralded as a period of growth, with the company benefiting from significant backing by an experienced team specializing in the automotive and luxury goods sectors.

The new showroom is the first of its kind in the United Kingdom for David Brown Automotive. The company has existing sales representation in Germany, in both Düsseldorf at the Classic Remise centre and also through M.A.S. Style, based in Wuppertal, which it appointed in May 2019. David Brown Automotive’s worldwide reach extends beyond Germany, with a brand presence encompassing showrooms also in Japan and Hong Kong with further sales partners to be announced over the coming months. Customers interested in products from David Brown Automotive outside of these markets should contact the UK headquarters for a bespoke solution to sales and aftercare.

Kali Uchis Earns “Inspira Honoree” at Hispanic Heritage Awards

THE HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS WILL RECOGNIZE KALI UCHIS AS THE 2021 INSPIRA HONOREE, THE COLOMBIAN-AMERICAN SINGER WILL ALSO PERFORM DURING THE 34th HISPANIC HERITAGE AWARDS BROADCAST, PRESENTED BY TARGET, OCTOBER 8th ON PBS

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF) announced today that fast-rising Colombian-American GRAMMY winner KALI UCHIS will be recognized as this year’s Inspira Honoree and perform during the October 8th broadcast of the 34th Annual Hispanic Heritage Awards. The Inspira Award was created to honor Latinx role models that provide inspiration for youth on a national stage.

The Hispanic Heritage Foundation is thrilled to recognize Kali Uchis with the Inspira Award, said Jose Antonio Tijerino, President and CEO of HHF.  As an international star, Kali has used her exceptional talents, authentic presence, and positive energy to inspire youth as well as proudly represent her Latinx culture. We are also excited to have Kali perform during the Hispanic Heritage Awards on PBS and join us in celebrating Latinx accomplishment, vision and culture with all of America.

Raised between Virginia and Colombia, Kali Uchis rose to prominence with her project Por Vida in 2015. Uchis’ 2018 debut album, Isolation, received widespread critical acclaim and was featured on Best Of lists in Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR, Vulture and many more. Uchis has collaborated and shared stages with Gorillaz, Jorja Smith, Juanes, Diplo, Major Lazer, Tyler, The Creator, Daniel Caesar, Bootsy Collins, Snoop Dogg, Kaytranada, Leon Bridges and more and has toured the world over, with much-lauded sets headlining at Coachella, Governors Ball, Tropicalia and Bonnaroo, Austin City Limits, Lollapalooza and many others.

With her second studio album, and first all-Spanish Language release Sin Miedo (del Amor y Otros Demonios) Uchis’ career has continued to surge forward at an astounding pace.  The album quickly notched the #1 spot on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart, and recently launched the smash hit telepatía – notching Kali a Tonight Show performance, her first #1 single on the Hot Latin Songs chart, over 635 million global song streams, and impressively landing in the Top-5 of Billboard’s recent Best Songs of 2021 So Far selections.

This year’s Awards, modeled after last year’s PBS broadcast, will once again feature more intimately filmed performances and Honoree segments captured on location across the United States and Latin America.  Last year’s program had the highest ratings and reached more people in the PBS Broadcasts’ history with Awardees including Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Linda Ronstadt, Jessica Alba, John Lewis, and our Farmworkers, with performances by Sebastian Yatra, Jessie Reyez, Sech, Calma Carmona, Flor de Toloache and a grand finale tribute to Linda Ronstadt anchored by The Mavericks featuring Latina vocalists: Joy Huerta of Jesse and Joy, Lupita Infante, La Marisoul of La Santa Cecilia, Gaby Moreno and Carla Morrison.

The Hispanic Heritage Awards were created by the White House in 1988 to commemorate the establishment of Hispanic Heritage Month in America and is among the highest honors by Latinos for Latinos and supported by 40 national Hispanic-serving institutions. Watch a video here

Classic Queensrÿche Albums Get Special Reissue

LANDMARK QUEENSRŸCHE ALBUMS ‘OPERATION: MINDCRIME’ AND ‘EMPIRE’ DUE JUNE 25 AS DEFINITIVE BOX SET COLLECTIONS

On June 25, Capitol/UMe will celebrate two landmark progressive metal albums by Queensrÿche. The breakthrough collection Operation: Mindcrime and its successful follow-up, Empire, will be released in multiple formats. In addition to the original versions remastered for CD and 180-gram vinyl 2LP, both titles will be available in expanded 2CD editions and in multi-disc CD+DVD box sets that stand as the final word on these albums, which carried the ambitious conceptual approach of such artists as The Who and Pink Floyd to a new decade and to a new hard rock audience.

Newly mastered at Abbey Road Studios, the deluxe versions of these remarkable albums bring together all the available recordings in 10′′ x 10′′ boxes that also contain DVDs of accompanying promotional videos and live performances of the albums. The live audio material revisits Queensrÿche’s worldwide headlining status during the Building Empires Tour, an 18-month trek that saw the band headline arenas after previous high-profile supporting slots on the Def Leppard Hysteria and Metallica And Justice For All tours. The Operation: Mindcrime deluxe features live audio concerts from London’s Hammersmith Odeon in 1990 and Wisconsin’s Target Center in 1991, plus a DVD that also includes the bonus track “The Making of Operation: Mindcrime” and an Operation: Mindcrime TV spot. The Empire deluxe version completes the Hammersmith Odeon 1990 concert with the live audio from the non-Mindcrime setlist. Geoff Tate, inducted into the 2020 Metal Hall of Fame, sheds new light on Operation: Mindcrime and Empire in extended interviews with noted journalist Alex Milas for the liner notes.

The deluxe versions of Operation: Mindcrime (originally released May 1988) and Empire (originally released August 1990) are available for preorder now. Ahead of — and leading up to — the releases, the celebration of these comprehensive box sets and releases includes a weekly premiere of remastered high-definition video on Queensrÿche’s official YouTube channel, HERE. With its sinister backdrops, a dramatic unfolding of characters and Queensrÿche’s high-octane stage performance, the Operation: Mindcrime HD remastered video, available now, provides a glimpse into the album’s intricate concept. The HD remastered video rollout for Operation: Mindcrime continues with Eyes Of A Stranger (May 14) and Grammy®-nominated single for Best Metal Performance I Don’t Believe In Love (May 21), all of which bring the plot to life. HD remastered video premieres from Empire are the title track, Empire, (May 28), Best I Can (June 4), Anybody Listening? (June 11), the Grammy®-nominated No. 1 rock hit Silent Lucidity (June 18) and, on release day, June 25, remastered HD videos will premiere for two more fan favorites Another Rainy Night (Without You) and Jet City Woman.

Queensrÿche’s third studio album, Operation: Mindcrime, took the quintet to an entirely new level. The concept, revealed through the songs, revolves around the character of Nikki, a recovering drug addict disillusioned with a corrupt society. Drawn into a cult-like revolutionary group headed by Dr. X (voiced by the late and beloved British actor Anthony Valentine), Nikki is manipulated to assassinate political leaders until his friendship with nun Sister Mary finally opens his eyes to the truth. Regarded as one of the greatest concept metal albums of all time, Operation: Mindcrime was certified platinum in 1991 in the U.S. and was ranked in the Top 100 Metal Albums Of All Time by both Kerrang! and Billboard magazines. Rolling Stone included it on a similar list, noting that nearly 30 years after its initial release, Mindcrime feels eerily relevant.

Reaching No. 7 on the Billboard album chart, the follow-up, Empire, built upon the success of Operation: Mindcrime. Produced, like its predecessor, by Peter Collins (Bon Jovi, Rush, Alice Cooper), the collection features brilliant and intelligent lyrics and songwriting complemented by incredible musicianship, with songs ranging from beautiful ballads to strong melodic rockers and classic heavy fist-pumpers. A rarity at the time, Empire spawned six singles that lit up Billboard’s rock tracks chart with the Top 10 hits Silent Lucidity (#1), Jet City Woman (#6), Another Rainy Night (Without You) (#7) and Top 30 hits Anybody Listening? (#16), Empire (#22) and Best I Can (#28). The power ballad Silent Lucidity was the band’s first crossover hit, topping the Billboard rock singles chart and reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Silent Lucidity also earned a Grammy® nomination for Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and received an MTV Viewer’s Choice award. RIAA-certified triple-platinum, Empire is the band’s most commercially successful album to date.

Progressive metal greats Queensrÿche emerged from Bellevue, Washington, in 1982 and have sold more than 30 million albums worldwide.

X Ambassadors – My Own Monster

Today, multi-platinum-selling rock band X Ambassadors share their latest single, a darkly cinematic track called “My Own Monster.” Released via KIDinaKORNER/Interscope Records, “My Own Monster” is a moody psychodrama in the form of a groove-heavy pop song. “My Own Monster” is available now at all digital retailers.

Made with producer Andrew Wells (Young the Giant, Halsey, Fitz and the Tantrums), “My Own Monster” unfolds as a seductive and surreal piece of storytelling, examining themes of alienation, emotional risk, and the desire to break free from pain. “It’s a song about someone who has a voice inside their head,” reveals X Ambassadors lead singer Sam Nelson Harris. “There’s something evil about the voice, but the person is attracted to that and ultimately decides, ‘I’m going to embrace this awful thing, let it be my best friend and let it protect me. What could possibly happen?’” To create the powerful tension that propels “My Own Monster,” X Ambassadors merged the track’s sinister groove with dreamy Mellotron textures and Theremin-like guitar tones specifically selected for their otherworldly effect.

With their highly awaited third album due out later this year, “My Own Monster” marks the start of a compelling new lyrical direction for X Ambassadors.  “My Own Monster” is the first new music from X Ambassadors since their hyper-creative multi-part project (Eg). A three-song effort released in early 2021, (Eg) found the band collaborating with a series of similarly forward-thinking artists, including Earl St. ClairTerrell Hines, and Jensen McRae.

ABOUT X AMBASSADORS
X Ambassadors made their full-length debut with VHS, a 2015 release that saw the band transition from Ithaca alt-rockers and Brooklyn-indie-scene outsiders to Billboard stalwarts. Now certified platinum, VHS provided an intimate look at Sam Nelson Harris and his brother Casey Harris’s youth, delivering the genre-defying hits “Unsteady” and “Renegades” and leading to a three-year global touring odyssey as well as a string of high-profile festival performances. VHS was followed by X Ambassadors’ 2019 sophomore album ORION, which they supported with an extensive headline tour of the U.S. A project inspired by ’60s and ’70s soul and R&B, the band’s Belong EP arrived in March 2020.

Kah-Lo album art from Ayanna Wilks from Epic records for use by 360 magazine

KAH-LO – THE ARRIVAL EP

Emerging as a global phenomenon with hundreds of millions of streams and glowing critical praise, GRAMMY® Award-nominated songstress Kah-Lo unleashes her solo debut, The Arrival EP, today.

Get it here via Epic Records.

The five-track project spotlights Nigerian-born, New York City-bred Kah-Lo’s seamless fusion of wild rhythms, dancefloor-ready beats, and skyscraping hooks. The single “Fire” ignites this hybrid. Neon keys bounce underneath her slick verses before she drops the red-hot hook, “I look so fire bitch, I am the match.” On the high energy “Commandments,” she issues one important commandment for the club for another between a chanting chorus. On the finale “Candy,” airy wah guitar dissolves into a head-nodding beat punctuated by old school beeper chirps and a thick bassline. Her undeniable attitude carries another bold chorus.

Back in 2016, Kah-Lo linked up with Riton for the breakout “Rinse & Repeat.” The international anthem not only amassed 65.3 million Spotify streams, but it also picked up a GRAMMY® Award nomination in the category of “Best Dance Recording. Loaded with bangers, they dropped Foreign Ororo highlighted by “Ginger” and “Fake I.D.”—which notched 94.2 million Spotify streams. Along the way, she collaborated with everyone from Idris Elba to Destructo and earned acclaim from Rolling StoneHYPEBEASTi-D, NME, and more.

Now, she lands at the forefront of the culture with The Arrival and more to come.

About Kah-Lo

Grammy nominated dance-pop sensation Kah-Lo is geared to unleash her Epic Records debut EP The Arrival, bringing a refreshing blend of sounds that truly embody this rising starThe Nigeria born, New York City bred artist has carved her own niche within music and is ready to show the world every angle of her sonic versatility. Kah-Lo first emerged on the scene in 2016, assisting UK producer Riton on the hip-house cut “Rinse & Repeat,” which earned the two a Grammy nomination. From there, Kah-Lo dropped her solo debut single “Fasta” in 2017, sitting at the crown of the BBC Radio 1 Dance charts for five weeks. By 2018, Kah-Lo dropped the infectious “Fake I.D.” which became the lead song for the U.S. arrival of TikTok, and the viral hits have just kept on coming. Kah-Lo’s songs have been featured in a myriad of placements on TV, film, and gaming placements for her songs, including “Exit Sign” on the FIFA 21 Volta soundtrack. It’s been a non-stop ride since she first got started, punctuated with hundreds of millions of streams and global appeal.

Whether it’s collaborating with Idris Elba on “Ballie” or Selena Gomez on the “Back To You Remix,” Kah-Lo shines. Her features on Diplo’s “Give Dem,” along with The Knocks on “Awa Ni” have also further crystallized Kah-Lo’s consistent track record for bringing the best out of any song she touches. In 2020, she dropped the rhythmic “Melanin” with Michael Brun, setting the stage for 2021’s “arrival.” On The Arrival, Kah-Lo brings a culmination of all of her sounds with five tight tracks. Packed with energy, songs like “Ouch” and “Commandments” bring the vibes from her hip-house beginnings, while “Fire” and “Spaceship” showcase Kah-Lo’s powerful singing vocals. Then there’s the closer “Candy”—a true indicator of her pop superstar future. Whether adding flavor to a collaboration or having her own tunes as the soundtrack to your favorite TV series, Kah-Lo delivers and The Arrival is a long time coming.

Noah Kahan – I was/I am

Hot off the heels of the release of his latest single, “Part of Me,” Noah Kahan announces his highly-anticipated sophomore album, I Was/I Am, will be released on September 17th. I Was/I Am is available for pre-order now HERE.

The critically acclaimed Vermont singer and songwriter took two years of milestones and transformed them into I Was/I Am, alongside his Busyhead collaborator and Grammy Award-winning producer Joel Little (Taylor Swift, Lorde, Shawn Mendes, Jonas Brothers, Khalid) and engineer Mark Rankin. Preserving his commitment to vivid lyricism, Noah crafted the new music with faster tempos and sweeping hooks, recharging his overall vision.

Kahan says, “While writing this record, I’ve taken stock of who I am as compared to who I was when I started and what that means, for better or worse. I do have some perspective. I’ve also lost a lot. I’ve lost people close to me for different reasons. I’ve lost friendships. I lost my dog. Those experiences haven’t necessarily hardened me, but they’ve made me incredibly grateful for what I have now. The biggest change is a little bit of clarity in terms of who I am and the person I want to end up being. The songs on the record represent a new understanding of myself.”

To celebrate the announcement, Kahan drops the music video for “Part of Me” today—watch it HERE. The song, an introspective anthem that captures his signature storytelling and evocative lyrics, is his fastest-growing song streaming-wise to date—amassing nearly 4 million Spotify streams and counting.

About Noah Kahan

Noah Kahan has quietly emerged as a homegrown phenomenon with a combination of vivid songwriting and powerful performances (as well as a razor-sharp sense of humor on social media). He’s racked up over one billion streams across his catalogue, picked up a Gold Certification for “Hurt Somebody” feat. Julia Michaels, and performed on television shows such as The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Late Night with Seth Meyers, and TODAY. His 2020 Cape Elizabeth EP garnered critical praise from across the globe, and not to mention, he’s collaborated with a slew of artists, from Chelsea Cutler to mxmtoon to Quinn XCII to Gryffin.

BoldData’s Sushi Restaurant Statistics

Growth of Sushi Restaurants Comes to Halt

Tomorrow is International Sushi Day, a day in honor of the popular rice dish from Japan. The latest statistics from BoldData show that the number of sushi restaurants in America has nearly doubled in the last 10 years. However, the growth seems to have come to a halt.

Is Sushi Hype Over?

Craving Sushi? There are currently 18,944 sushi restaurants in The United States. An increase of 57% compared to 2011. In 2011, there were 11,939 sushi shops. 2017 was an especially good year for the Japanese snack, as there was an increase of 1,868 sushi shops (12%). 2018 seems to be a tipping point for the popularity of sushi–after this year, the growth of sushi restaurants slows down. In 2021, there has been a decrease of 311 sushi restaurants– a decrease in the US’ sushi restaurant growth for the first time.

First Sushi Shop in L.A.

In 1966, Kawafuku Restaurant, based in Little Tokyo in Los Angeles, was the first real sushi restaurant in the Unites States. By the late 1960s, the Japanese dish had become trendy, and new sushi restaurants were opening up all across the city. In the year 1970, the US hit 50 sushi shops. Nowadays, L.A. is still the sushi place to be, with a staggering 833 sushi shops. New York is also a good place to satisfy your sushi cravings with 467 restaurants–a growth of 72% compared to 2011.

Japan 1st, US 2nd

It’s not a surprise that Japan is home to the highest number of sushi restaurants: 42,897. USA comes in second with 18,944 sushi shops. Canada completes the top 3 with 2,529 sushi restaurants. Canada, UK and Germany are the only countries in which the number of sushi restaurants is still growing.

BoldData’s complete report can be read HERE. This report is based on BoldData’s worldwide restaurant database.
