KYLEYOUMADETHAT RELEASES NEW TRACK POOF BE GONE FEAT. YUNG BABY TATE, YVETTE AND CHEERLEBRIDEE

Turning up with even more heat, rising Toronto artist and producer KyleYouMadeThat unveils his new track Poof Be Gone feat. Yung Baby Tate, Yvette and Cheerlebridee via The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

Listen to Poof Be Gone HERE.

Bass thumps as the sample militantly bumps, Poof be gone.  Through the rattle of heavy drums, Yung Baby Tate tears into KyleYouMadeThat’s production with raucous and raunchy bars, while Yvette drips confidence. He initially teased the sound on TikTok, and it has already spawned over 676K user-generated videos, including videos from Lizzo, Tia Mowry, JoJo Siwa, Charli D’Amelio and more, creating a massive dance trend on the platform.

It’s the bounciest and boldest banger of the summer.

Recently, KyleYouMadeThat dropped the Justis Bratt-assisted Haha and received looks from RESPECT Magazine, SOOH, and more in addition to putting up numbers.

Just prior, KyleYouMadeThat linked with Shaylen and Bryce Vine for Do Si Do, which attracted widespread acclaim. Billboard cited it among Spotify Editors’ Picks for New Music Friday, and Entertainment Tonight even touted it on its weekly roundup. He also joined forces with multiplatinum rapper YBN Nahmir, Joseph Black and YB Redencion for the intimate and introspective single Make You Happy.

He popped off alongside Coi Leray and Kaash Paige on All About Cake. Inciting excitement among tastemakers, DefPen noted, KyleYouMadeThat is making a major name for himself in the world of R&B and hip-hop, and HipHopDX praised how KyleYouMadeThat switches up tempos in his new single ‘All About Cake’. It has already spawned north of 10 million TikTok dance videos with creations by everyone from Lizzo to Charli D’Amelio.

Meanwhile, his debut single HOOPLA—the collaboration between KyleYouMadeThat and NLE Choppa—has racked up nearly 2 million streams to date and earned critical acclaim. HotNewHipHop enthusiastically described it as a bouncy banger. HOOPLA initially exploded on Tik Tok when KyleYouMadeThat shared nothing more than the beat on his page. Dance influencer Karaleigh Cannella shared a viral dance soundtracked by the production, and Seventeen praised it among The Hottest TikTok Dances You Can’t Stop Doing.

KyleYouMadeThat already moved the internet, and now he’s set to move the culture. Soundtracking 16 million-plus videos on Tik Tok and generating views in the billions by 2021, the Toronto-born artist, producer, and creative cooks up genre-defiant anthems and curates viral moods. After years producing for the likes of Trey Songz, Ryan Leslie, and Tinashe, he found himself stuck at home at the onset of the Global Pandemic. He leveled up all-around, becoming more proficient at graphic design, photo editing, and video editing. He also studied Tik Tok and pledged to get a viral hit. He didn’t just go viral; he practically broke the platform. Crystal Dolphin incited videos by dozens of influencers such as Charli D’Amelio [102 million followers], Addison Rae [71 million followers], SpencerX [50 million followers], and Loren Gray [50 million followers] as well as superstar Jason Derulo. Not to mention, the success translated to other platforms with 56 million streams on Spotify. Meanwhile, All About Cake inspired videos by everyone Kimberlyloazia [31.8 million followers] and Tony Lopez [23 million] to three posts from Lizzo. It would be his off-kilter sonic sensibility that shined through the loudest though, defining a whole wave in the process under the radar. Now, he asserts himself as both a trend architect and precise hitmaker on a series of 2021 singles for The Heavy Group/Republic Records.

Engineer Master II Diver Chronometer – the next-generation dive watch

In 2006, BALL Watch Company introduced its first-generation dive watch: a robust, aesthetically functional timepiece that delivered remarkable performance with an inner bezel, illuminated by micro gas tubes and a 2-crowns design. Over the last 15 years, its “Engineer Master II” collection has boasted a wide range of timepieces that have complied with the many requirements imposed by deep-sea diving. Building on its predecessors and extensive craftsmanship, BALL presents the Engineer Master II Diver Chronometer, integrating more protective technologies while refining its size and everyday wearability. This new diving tool built for the thrill of adventure and the pursuit of freedom, underscoring the success of this collection.

This dive watch has a water resistance of 300m/1,000ft and runs the BALL RR1101-C caliber, certified by the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC). To ensure high accuracy in adverse conditions, the movement is safeguarded by powerful resistance technologies. A mu-metal shield surrounds the caliber allowing an anti-magnetic protection to an intensity of 1,000 Gauss (80,000 A/m). Also, BALL’s patented Amortiser® system absorbs energy created by external shocks and makes sure every component stays intact in case of harsh impact.

The Diver Chronometer features a bi-directional sapphire internal bezel used to count down dive time and ensure safety. Activated by the crown at 2 o’clock, the internal diving bezel can be operated while completely submerged under water to time the safety stop. This bezel remains visible even in total darkness thanks to the cutting-edge Swiss technology of self-powered H₃ gas tubes. H₃ gas is encapsulated in glass micro tubes and light energy is released when the molecules strike the internal colored surface of the tubes. Without any form of charging, the luminosity shines automatically and combats the black expanse of any environment. Notably, for the first time, the tubes are placed underneath the bezel for an uncluttered design. To complete visibility, micro gas tubes have also been placed on the dial and the hands for a total of 36 tubes. The Engineer Master II Diver Chronometer is offered with either a classic mix of green and yellow tubes or a more modern rainbow-colored combination.

With a thickness of only 13.5mm, the 42mm stainless steel  Engineer Master II Diver Chronometer is available with a black or a blue dial, and either on a stainless steel bracelet or rubber strap. It features hours, minutes, sweep seconds and a magnified date.

Today, more than ever, BALL Watch is continuing its journey and asserting its role as a key protagonist in the exploration of modern time and the evolution of watchmaking history.

About BALL Watch Company

BALL Watch Company is a timekeeping pioneer and celebrated manufacturer of quality, precise and reliable timepieces since 1891. The company was literally founded by accident. Following a tragic 1891 Kipton, Ohio head-on train collision, American railroad companies appointed Webster Clay Ball “Chief Time Inspector” to supervise newly synchronized timing protocols. This standardized “railroad time” efficiency originated the popular “Be on the Ball” proverb and inspired the future Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) which governs the highest watch timing certification standards today.

About Patrick’s Labs

To provide improvement and even more innovation than in the past, BALL Watch Company established its first spin-off company, Patrick’s Labs.  A Research and Development Center, this new division focuses on its domain of expertise by gathering a wide range of knowledge. Patrick’s Labs enables BALL Watch to be at the forefront of research and innovation by introducing technically groundbreaking products and solutions.

94 Percent Of Nursing Homes Face Staffing Shortages

The American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL), representing more than 14,000 nursing homes and long term care facilities across the country, announced the release of a recent survey of nursing home and assisted living providers across the U.S. The results from the survey showcase the urgent need to invest in the long-term care workforce, specifically to help recruit and retain staff.

Key findings include:

  • Ninety-four percent of nursing home providers said they have had a shortage of staff members in the last month. In assisted living communities, 81 percent said they had similar staffing shortages.
  • More than half of nursing home and assisted living providers lost key members of their staff last year during the pandemic due to workers quitting, including among certified nursing assistants (CNAs) or direct caregivers and dietary staff.
  • Close to 75 percent of nursing homes and nearly 60 percent of assisted living communities said their overall workforce situation has gotten worse since 2020.
  • Eighty-one percent of nursing home providers and 75 percent of assisted living communities stated that higher reimbursement to offer better staff pay and benefits would help improve the facility’s ability to recruit and retain staff members.

“The survey results clearly indicate that the long-term care workforce is facing serious challenges, and our country must make significant investments to help address these shortfalls,” stated Mark Parkinson, president and CEO of AHCA/NCAL. “Lawmakers across the country must prioritize long term care to ensure the profession has the necessary resources to maintain a strong workforce. This begins with addressing chronic underfunding of Medicaid for nursing homes, which currently only covers 70 to 80 percent of the cost of care. We have laid out proposals in our Care For Our Seniors Act that would enable our providers to address staffing shortages, but without help from Congress and state legislators, this will not be possible.”

“We look forward to working with federal and state governments to ensure every facility has the ability to recruit and retain the necessary staff to ensure our residents receive the level of care they need and deserve. Caregivers are the backbone of nursing homes and assisted living communities, and we need to make sure they are being adequately supported so they can provide the highest quality care to our elderly population,” concluded Parkinson.

A one-page executive summary of the results can be found HERE.

Town & Country 8th Philanthropy Summit – Marlo Thomas × Phil Donahue

The 8th annual Town & Country Philanthropy Summit continued today with a wonderful conversation between Marlo Thomas and Phil Donahue, moderated by Editor in Chief Stellene Volandes. This is the first time that Phil has interviewed Marlo since they first met on the Donahue show decades ago.

Please see below for highlights from the panel as well as a link to view the interview in its entirety:

Marlo on visiting St. Jude following her father’s death:

“After my father died, it was just a terrible shock to us. It was stunning because he hadn’t been sick, so it was very sudden. He was adored by us. We all loved him, and he was our funny, loving perfect daddy so it was very, very hard. We all decided that you know, we’d go to St. Jude and let them know that we were here if they needed us and so I went to St. Jude, a couple of months later. I drove up and there was a sixteen feet statue of St. Jude right at the entrance, and I started to cry because I’ve been there so many times with my dad. I pulled myself together because I didn’t want to cry in front of the parents, they have enough heartache of their own. I went inside and, in the lobby, there was this party going on. All of these little kids running around with party hats, balloons, confetti, ice cream, and cake. I said to the nurse, ‘Well whose birthday, is it?’ She said, ‘Oh it’s not a birthday party, it’s an off-chemo party.’ Well, I’ll tell you, I just gasped, to see these children celebrating one of their turns for the better. All of these moms and dads and grandparents standing around with tears in their eyes because they felt that if this child made it, maybe their beloved child would too. It was really a stunning moment for me. And then, just as I was standing there, this mom came over with a little girl about four years old, all dressed in pink. She had little pink ribbons jauntily tied around her little bald head and the mother said to her, ‘do you know who’s this lady’s daddy is?’ and the little girl shyly answered, ‘yes’ the mother said ‘who?’ She [little girl] proudly said, ‘St. Jude.’ I just fell in love with her. I fell in love with all of those kids in the off-chemo party. I fell in love with this place. And I realized for the first time, just what all of this hope and love and promise and the future of a second chance for children meant to my father. It really helped me to see myself as a part of it.”

Marlo on what she learned from her father:

“Well, what I learned from dad, really is that he had a lot of sayings, and one of them was there’s two kinds of people in the world: those who stop on an accident to see if they can help or those who just drive by. He was literally the kind that would stop and help. I remember one time, we were driving by down Sunset Blvd. we saw these boys beating up on another little boy. And my father stopped the car and jumped out. He pulled the boys apart and gave them a big talking to. I was sitting in the car, terrified, I was eight years old. He got back in the car. He brought the little boy that’ve been bullied with him. We were going to drop him off at home and as my dad started the car, he said, ‘I hate a bully.’ And I think to him, cancer in children was a bully. A bully that he wanted to defeat. The thing about my dad too is that he really was a citizen of the world, that we all are citizens of the world…He saw himself as part of the neighborhood as a part of a community wherever he was, he was a part of that community. I think that was a great lesson for my sister, my brother, and I.”

Phil Donahue on his first visit to St. Jude and how that impacted him:

“My first visit to St. Jude, I picked up a little bald-headed kid. I said, ‘What do you want to be when you grow up, big guy?’ This still makes me cry. The kid said, ‘I just don’t want to be sick anymore.’ Well, my god, I grabbed this kid. You know, for a very brief moment, I kind of felt how parents feel when they take a child to St. Jude. How scary it must be and how I didn’t want that child to see my eyes get moist. So, it’s a real learning experience at St. Jude. It changed me forever. I do wish everybody could visit the hospital. It’s a life-changing experience and when you see the parents arrive with a child. You see the real fear on their faces, terror sometimes. Then you see them leaving and they’re better. It’s like a godsent – the change they feel, and that their children feel.”

Marlo on being awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom and her version of the American Dream:

“One of the things that happened in my life that was really big a great deal, because of my work with St. Jude, is that I received the Medal of Freedom from President Obama. My husband and I went, and my brother came, and the head of St. Jude came. The interesting thing about it, is when you are growing up, especially as an actress, you dream of getting an Emmy or an Oscar or a Tony, but I don’t think anybody grows up dreaming about the Medal of Freedom. It just comes as a shock when you’re told you will be receiving this at the White House. And I remember I was stunned. Remember we discussed that I wasn’t going to cry? So, I’m not going to cry, but I did because at the moment President Obama was clasping the medal around my neck, I thought of my grandparents. My grandparents were immigrants who came to this country from Lebanon to find a better way of life, to raise their family and their children. And I saw them in my mind’s eye, I could see my grandparents with all their belongings and cloth bags. And here, their granddaughter just two generations later were in the White House receiving the Medal of Freedom from the President of the United States. I mean, that is the American Dream. I’m so proud of the fact that my grandparents made a life in this country.”

Marlo on how celebrity involvement has helped the foundation:

“That’s a very interesting thing because just as in our generation, we brought in Jennifer Aniston and Robin Williams and all of those wonderful people. My dad did that, that’s how he built the hospital. He used to say this hospital was built with laughter George Burns and the Bob Hope and all of the funny guys—Jerry Lewis and Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald, all of the men and women that were on the night club circuit with my dad helped build St. Jude. In fact, Frank Sinatra did so many benefits that we actually have a whole wing that’s called the Frank Sinatra wing. Their generosity really built the hospital.”

Watch the full summit here.

The T&C Summit continues tomorrow with Stacy-Marie Ishmael speaking to Taraji P. Henson and Jamie Raskin, and Stellene Volandes in conversation with Andreas Dracopoulos. If you are interested in attending register directly here.

Metallica – The Black Album Remastered

Metallica marks the 30th anniversary of its self-titled fifth album—a/k/a The Black Album—with two landmark releases, both out September 10th on the band’s own Blackened Recordings:

The Black Album is one of the most commercially successful and critically acclaimed records of all time. Its 1991 release not only gave Metallica its first #1 album in no fewer than 10 countries, including a 4-week run at #1 in the U.S., its unrelenting series of singles — “Enter Sandman”, “The Unforgiven”, “Nothing Else Matters”, “Wherever I May Roam”, and “Sad But True”—fueled the band’s rise to stadium headlining, radio and MTV dominating household name status. The album’s reception from the press was similarly charged, building over the years from the top 10 of the 1991 Village Voice Pazz & Jop national critics poll to becoming a constant presence in the likes of Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Albums Of All Time. The album’s impact and relevance continue to grow—as proven by one indisputable fact: The Black Album remains unchallenged as the best-selling album in the history of Nielsen Soundscan, outselling every release in every genre over the past 30 years.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the GRAMMY-winning, 16x platinum-certified Black Album is receiving its definitive re-release.  Remastered for ultimate sound quality, The Black Album remaster will be available in multiple configurations.

Much more than a mere tribute album, The Metallica Blacklist celebrates the enduring influence of this musical milestone with one of the most ambitious projects ever conceived by the Metallica team: An unprecedented 50+ artists spanning an unbelievably vast range of genres, generations, cultures, continents and more, each contributing a unique interpretation of their favorite Black Album cut.

The Metallica Blacklist offers up new dimensions of the record whose gravitational pull first drew the mainstream to Metallica—and provides new insights into the universal and timeless appeal that kept it there: the boundary-smashing influence these 12 songs have had on fans and musicians of all stripes. The Metallica Blacklist’s 53 tracks find singer songwriters, country artists, electronic and hip hop artists sharing their love of these songs alongside punk rockers, indie darlings, icons of rock, metal, world music and many, many more… and for 50+ good causes: Profits will be divided evenly between charities of the artist’s choice and Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.

The Metallica Blacklist is a fitting and limitless homage, one that features bands who’ve shared stages with Metallica alongside artists who are younger than the original album. It’s a truly staggering, at times mystifying assemblage of musicians, dozens of whom have little to nothing in common other than the shared passion for the music that’s united them for this album: 1 Album. 12 Songs. 53 Artists. Unlimited Possibilities.

The Metallica Blacklist will be available digitally September 10th, with physical formats to follow on October 1st including 4 CD and a limited edition 7 LP vinyl pressing. Pre-orders will instantly receive multi-platinum selling recording artist, songwriter, philanthropist and trailblazer Miley Cyrus’ version of “Nothing Else Matters” featuring WATT, Elton John, Yo-Yo Ma, Robert Trujillo and Chad Smith, and Latin music superstar Juanes’ interpretation of “Enter Sandman.”

CBD For Dogs

Let’s face it – when your feathered, furry or scaly friend is experiencing distress, you will try to do everything to make them feel better. Whether your dog is subjected to chronic pain, nausea or anxiety, CBD and its promising health benefits have a great potential to improve the quality of life for many pets.

However, much like with any medication or supplement, there are some things you need to be aware of before giving CBD oil to your dog. Here are the top five things to keep in mind prior to implementing CBD products into your dog’s routine.

Why Using CBD For Pets?

Just like humans, horses, cats and other mammals, dogs have a complex endocannabinoid system, which is known to regulate vital bodily functions, such as sleep, memory, appetite, pain, learning, etc. and keep systems in balance. Due to the positive effect on this biological system and promising healing qualities, administering CBD oil to your pet can help with a wide variety of animal-specific conditions and diseases.

So, can you give CBD products to your dog? While studies regarding CBD use for dogs are lacking, early research suggests that CBD oil can significantly improve pain levels and therefore quality of life without discernible side effects.

Five Tips On How To Give CBD Oil To Your Dog

Consult Your Veterinarian

One of the essential recommendations is to always visit a licensed veterinarian before incorporating any new supplements or medications into your pet’s daily regimen. A vet consultation will help you find the right answers to any questions you may have regarding CBD, its specifics and potential adverse reactions.

Plus, your vet will also check your pet’s entire body closely for signs of injury or illness, review any other medicaments they are taking and advise on the best way for administering CBD to your dog as well as appropriate CBD dose for your pet.

Opt For CBD Products That Are THC-Free

While legal CBD products usually contain no more than 0.2% of THC compound, which is considered safe for animals, it is better to stick to products where the THC content is 0.0%. Animals are often more sensitive and can react to even small traces of THC. Therefore, consider purchasing the best CBD oil for pain relief, anxiety or any other ailment of your pet. Such products should be completely THC-free for your dog’s safety and most importantly, watch out for possible symptoms of THC poisoning such as anxiety, vomiting or diarrhoea.

Additionally, always choose well-established CBD brands and ask for a Certificate of Analysis (COA) to double-check that the CBD and THC concentrations and ensure products are effective.

Find The Right Time To Give CBD

Each pet owner always wants to pamper his fluffy friend with the best possible support, including offering quality food with natural and safe ingredients that will improve their overall quality of life. Adding CBD to food will make it even more beneficial to their health. Aside from supplying essential vitamins and minerals into your pet’s diet plan, CBD can ensure they recover faster after daily exercise or play routine and remain as active and joyous as possible.

You can also add CBD treats into your pet’s training schedule. Since CBD can be beneficial for improving memory and cognitive functions, it can help to provide better results when you train your pet. CBD can also boost their focus and sense of calm, which can be a great solution for pets that are easily distracted. You can give CBD infused treats as a training reward; just be sure to check the concentration of cannabidiol in the treats so you can manage your planned daily dose appropriately.

Whether you choose to combine your massage session with products that contain CBD oil, pamper yourself with an infused bath bomb, inhale CBD vape oil for fast effects or drink relaxing CBD tea, most users prefer to take their daily dose before bed because it is thought to promote restful sleep. This also applies to your pet. Giving CBD at night will help to relax the mind of your pets, reduce any discomfort they might feel and allow them to enjoy better quality sleep.

Start With Low CBD Dosage

It is always best to start with low doses to give your pet’s body time to adjust to the new supplement and prevent any unpleasant reactions. Also, as you introduce CBD to your pet’s daily routine make sure to analyse the effect it has on them. Monitor any changes in your dog’s temperament, behaviour and habits, and then gradually increase the CBD dosage for the best results. Starting slowly with the lowest CBD dosage possible allows minimising even mild side effects, providing a positive experience from CBD use.

Remember About Potential Side Effects

According to the 2017 report by the World Health Organization, CBD in its purest form is considered safe and well-tolerated by animals. However, in two subsequent 2018 dog studies, the treatment with CBD was associated with an increase in liver alkaline phosphatase (ALP) enzyme activity. Veterinary neurologist Dr. Stephanie McGrath was one of the first researchers to use therapeutic potential of cannabis in veterinary practice. During the course of her research, she performed a liver function test to ensure that the dog’s liver works properly and is gradually returning to normal.

“I would be a little worried about introducing CBD for dogs that are subjected to liver problems”, says Dr McGrath. Similarly, since CBD appears to be metabolised by the liver, McGrath says that you also need to be careful when administering CBD to a dog that is already taking medications that are metabolised by the liver. “We don’t know that these items are interacting now,” she says.

“We did not find anything that would be super alarming regarding the use of CBD infused products for animals,” says Dr McGrath. “But, on the other hand, we still know very little about this product, and it is really important for the owners to know this and use it with caution until we have more information.”

Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes and British artist and singer/violinist Wendy Bevan have released their second album ASTRONOMIA II: THE RISE OF LYRA via Tape Modern, available here

Over the past twelve months, the duo have collaborated on a monumental series of 52 cinematic instrumentals inspired by the Universe. These works will be presented across four 13-track, individually named albums, as the Astronomia project. The first release The Fall of Saturn dropped on the Spring Equinox (March 20, 2021) and The Rise of Lyra will be followed by two further records, released on the Autumn equinox and Winter solstice of this year.

Rhodes and Bevan first started working together during 2018, instantly conceiving an exquisite, and very visual musical language. As artists, separated by the oceans, Wendy in Los Angeles and Nick in London, these works were made as a direct response to the sadness and turbulence of the past year.

About the second chapter of the project, the pair said this.

Wendy and I began a musical journey not knowing where it would lead us.  We learned more along the way, through each twist and turn, but managed to closely guard the mystique as we delved further into the darkness of space. It was the intrigue of the unknown that steered our project, each soundscape creating a new terrain leading to the next. As the music varies greatly, from calm ambience to grand orchestral, this gave us infinite possibilities for drama and dynamics across each record and the entire series. When we began work on the second album, our musical language had already been established, and so as we wrote the compositions they developed in surprising new ways. Because of the scale and constantly changing shape of whole project it feels holographic – I found myself trying to seize opportunities before they passed me by: an atmosphere, a haunting melody, a foreboding sound, they all drifted in and out of the pieces, slowly forming ‘The Rise of Lyra’.

I think we managed to harness the energy and navigate our way through to tell the next chapter of the Astronomia chronicles. It started to become clear that the musical story of Astronomia was mirroring our times. We didn’t need words, the notes and sounds in each composition conveyed everything we were feeling and wanted to say. The first of our four-album series, The Fall of Saturn, represented the descent into the pandemic, the realisation it was taking control and the helplessness we all felt as we slowly lost our freedoms.

‘The Rise of Lyra’ reflects upon the period following that when the virus had spiralled out of control and taken a firm grip on the world. The realization of how fragile we are, our search for hope and the moments of desolation. Throughout the last year, writing and recording the Astronomia compositions was a real lifeline for Wendy and I, it gave us both a sense of purpose during the bleak times and it became our diary echoing every mood and feeling we had as the days passed by. Being freed from all rules and conventions of traditional song writing was entirely liberating. Without restrictions we were able to expand our horizons and we still have not reached the boundaries. It is thrilling to start with a blank canvas, no sketch at all and just see where the notes and sounds lead you. ‘The Rise of Lyra’ references mythology, specifically the dark tale of Orpheus and Eurydice where the power of music is the main theme. – Nick Rhodes

Astronomia is a sacred time-capsule that gently cradles the memory of our times in 2020 and the fragility of living on this earth.

Astronomia became a lifeline for me during the lockdown. It allowed me to have a space for my emotions to flow into music, a sacred space to create my own universe, with endless freedom. We had no boundaries. It took me away from the reality of what was happening in the world during the pandemic and gave me a sense of hope.

‘The Rise of Lyra’ is the second album in the Astronomia series. Some of the tracks feel angelic, for example ‘Cats Eye Nebula’ and ‘Inferno’, and elevate us from reality.  These recordings became a musical diary of acceptance, a record of change on a vast scale in our lives. The sonic space the album creates, explores the ebb and flow of emotions that we endured on a global level. When Nick and I started Astronomia we had no idea of the vast amount of music we would create. Notes kept flowing in response to the situation we found ourselves in, it became a parallel universe with its own unique language, drama and elegance, far, far away from reality.

Woman of the Apocalypse (who in the New Testament is also known as Woman Clothed in the Sun), is one of my favourite tracks on the album. I wanted the vocal performance to sound angelic, eternal and somehow supernatural. I wanted the track to allow the listener to feel that there was something else out there, more glorious beyond anything they had ever known or could imagine.  – Wendy Bevan

With a shared love of film, photography and style, Bevan and Rhodes plan to accompany each track on the Astronomia volumes with a carefully curated visual, available via their Instagram. A new clip will be released every week for one year, commencing March 20th.

Wendy Bevan is a British vocalist, violinist, songwriter, performer and photographer. Nick Rhodes is a founder member and keyboard player of the British rock band, Duran Duran.
