Emerging Alt-Rock solo artist Magic Whatever has officially unveiled his debut single Speak of the Devil (feat. The Score) today. The brainchild of singer/songwriter Trever Stewart (Modern Maps) blends musical elements from Rock, Pop, R&B and electronic to tell stories of his past, present and future in an effort to reach out and connect with his audience on a personal level.
On the track, Magic Whatever shares ‘Speak of the Devil’ is a love song written for my inner demons. Everybody has a dark side, and this song is about embracing the devil within all of us.
Fans can stream Speak of the Devil (feat. The Score) via Royal Rhythm Recordings here.
Magic Whatever began being infatuated with music at a young age due to being raised by his grandmother, who was constantly listening to musical legends such as; Etta James, Frank Sinatra, and even early punk such as The Ramones & The Clash. At the tail end of age 17 and the day after he graduated high school, he used what little money he had to book a one-way flight back to his hometown of Los Angeles to pursue music full time.
At 25, he signed his first record deal and recorded his first full length album gaining him industry prowess. Upon being dropped from his first label, Trever had a chip on his shoulder and began formulating a way to pursue his passion on his own terms.
Magic Whatever is certainly here to stay. Be sure to follow Magic Whatever on socials for more information very soon. Follow their Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
easy life announced details of their much-anticipated debut album life’s a beach, which was to be released on Interscope Records on June 4, but is now available on all platforms (one week early)! In March, the album was teased by its powerful opening track a message to myself, and includes standout singles nightmares, daydreams, and more future-classics from the British five-piece, who won ‘Best New British Act’ at the 2020 NME Awards.
Receiving its first play on BBC Radio 1 today, a message to myself is easy life’s most candid and cathartic moment to date. A symphonic essay on depression – and a rallying call for self-love – the band worked on the track alongside world-class producer BEKON, whose credits include Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN and BJ The Chicago Kid’s In My Mind. One of modern pop’s more unsuspecting stars, a message to myself, says Easy Life front-man Murray, “is a reminder to keep doing you. It’s a celebration of individualism at all costs. Be yourself, nobody can do you better.”
2021 marks easy life’s graduation as the world’s definitive and most exciting band around. Over the last few years, the group have paved their own way via a catalogue bursting with introspective, escapist, outsider-anthems. Their effortlessly accomplished mixtapes – creature habits, spaceships, and junk food (which featured Arlo Parks, their only duet to date) – have led the rascal band of brothers to debut their album, life’s a beach: a title that makes total sense, argues Murray, when you’re “from slap bang in the middle of the country, geographically as far from the nearest seaside as possible.” The beach of life’s a beach is not, then, a Caribbean hideaway. Observational, universal and deeply personal, this rounded study of forgotten small towns is the record easy life have spent their young lives working towards. The fact they’re set to release their debut album as the world enjoys – hopefully – a safe return to the beach seems oddly fitting amidst their unpredictable rise to date.
A band formed right down to the name itself as an escape, songs like a message to myself cement easy life’s place in the world – as musicians, as young men, and as beacons of positivity. “All the lyrics and everything that you hear throughout all of easy life is stuff that has moved me to write it,” Murray comments on his source of inspiration. “When I feel really lonely and anxious and all these things that everybody always feels, my salvation from that angst and that paranoia is making music to get it out there… because if you hold onto it, I can drown in my own self-pity.”
Murray also sums up their upcoming debut album – “it’s a record that wishes it was anywhere else but here, yet at the same time fixates on a dreary middle England existence.” This EP is about simple life and mundane existence, and there may be more rain on the way in their native Britain, but life’s a beach is easy life’s absolute moment in the sun.
JONAS BLUE AND LÉON RELEASE EUPHORIC HOUSE SINGLE HEAR ME SAY, Tickets On Sale Now for Summer DJ residency at Resorts World in Las Vegas, Listen to Hear Me Say HERE
Multi-platinum producer and songwriter Jonas Blue is back today with the euphoric Hear Me Say, a dizzying house track with rising Swedish pop star Léon. Built around anthemic vocals and caffeinated drum rushes, the single arrives right on time, at the cusp of a summer of packed dancefloors, sweaty festivals, and breezy days in the company of friends. Listen here via Astralwerks and view the lyric video here.
Hear Me Say is a hands-in-the-air house track, designed to soundtrack reckless abandon. Neon synth programming gilds Léon’s affecting vocal, magnifying the depths of the emotion. Jonas’ production is detailed but tasteful, nodding both to the fizzy history of rave music and sleek classic house tracks. As Léon sings of romance lost and found, the track builds to a buoyant climax, underscoring one of dance music’s great promises. No matter how you’re feeling when you get to the club, you can always dance through the pain.
Hear Me Say is about a relationship that seemed perfect but the couple drifted apart somewhere along the way, Jonas explains. They will always love each other, and will cherish the memories they created, but it was just not meant to be. It’s about having a voice, and people hearing your voice. It’s about expressing your feelings and not holding back what you want to say.
I’m so happy that this song is finally coming out, Léon adds. It came from a very honest place and I think we all felt how special it was the day we wrote it. I love that it turned out to be a song that you want to dance to, how Jonas made it feel so uplifting and powerful with his production on top of it. It almost has this 90’s feel to it. Can’t wait to see how people feel about it!
This new single is just the latest in a long string of uplifting dance anthems for Jonas Blue. Hear Me Say follows March’s Something Stupid with R&B singer AWA, which also received a stylish video from world-renowned filmmaker and photographer Rankin. These new singles have only further established Jonas as a global dance-pop powerhouse. Thanks to tracks like his beloved Perfect Strangers, he’s been certified platinum over 120 times across the world, attained over 13 billion streams, and sold over 60 million singles. These numbers put him in rarified air, even in the realms of pop music, but they wouldn’t mean anything without tasteful, infectious singles like Hear Me Say to back it up.
Soon after the release of Hear Me Say, Jonas is also plotting a return to live shows. He’s set to perform a sold-out show at London’s Ministry of Sound on June 25. Later this summer, he’ll begin a DJ residency at Resorts World Las Vegas. In partnership with Zouk Group, the first shows are set to take place on July 30 and Aug 13 at AYU DAYCLUB. Tickets are available now. This busy schedule, like Hear Me Say, is proof of Jonas’ continued innovation and attention to detail. Even though he’s on top of the world, he’s still pushing himself with every track and making people dance along the way.

Queen The Greatest: A Celebration Of 50 Of The Greatest Moments
From The Queen Story So Far
A 50-week YouTube series celebrating key moments in Queen’s history, reminding us why Queen and their music continue to be loved across the world.
Episode 11: “Queen : 1977 We Will Rock You (Part 1) Rocking the World”
An exclusive interview with Brian May revealing the inspiration behind not just one of Queen‘s greatest hits, but one of the most recognizable and loved songs in the history of rock music.
Queen The Greatest, a year-long Queen Official YouTube celebration of the most extraordinary songs, performances and achievements from Queen’s story so far, this week revisits a song that would become not just one of Queen’s greatest hits, but also one of the most recognizable tracks in rock history, “We Will Rock You.”
In an exclusive and brand-new interview with Brian May, the legendary guitarist and songwriter shares how this iconic song written for the band’s 1977 News Of The World album came to life, the specific gig that inspired its creation, and what it has come to mean to him.
“Bingley Hall. This great hall in the Midlands. It was heaving. It’s all sweaty and hot, the atmosphere is great. Everybody’s jumping up and down, making a noise, and what they were doing was singing along. In those days, it was really new I have to tell you. You just didn’t go to concerts where people sang to rock bands. But on this particular occasion they didn’t stop. I think I’d gone to sleep thinking what could an audience do, what could you ask them to do?’ They’re all crammed in there, they can’t do much, but they can stamp their feet they can clap their hands, and they can sing.”
“It just kind of came to me that we were all part of this scenario where we’re all young, and full of enthusiasm, we think we can change the world, and we get out there, we will rock you! We Will Rock You means we will change the world, and we feel like we can do it when we’re young.
“And then looking ahead to when you get old, what happens when you get old and all this stuff has kind of blown over, and you stand there and you think what happened, did I change the world? What happened, who am I and what is the world to me now?
“I would like to leave the planet knowing that I just made a little bit of difference to the amount of decency that there is in the world. Not sure I can do that, but I’m still trying. So that in a nutshell is what We Will Rock You is about.” – Brian May.

Queen The Greatest: Episode 17: “Queen – Independence Day” – Watch HERE
After seven years together, Queen’s dream of creative and financial independence would finally come true. A look behind the scenes at that pivotal moment, featuring archive footage of Freddie, John and Roger, as well as a rare interview with the band’s long term manager, Jim Beach.
“There’s a million sharks out there.” – Roger Taylor
This week’s Queen The Greatest takes a look behind the scenes at one of the most significant moments in Queen’s history – the moment where one of their ultimate goals was realized: Queen’s Independence Day.
Last week’s episode focused on bassist John Deacon and the hits he provided for Queen. Deacon again features prominently in this week’s episode, in which the band reveals the dire straits they were in– even after three hit albums. The episode also explains how John’s steady hand and acumen brought Queen to one of the most significant points in its career: the moment they finally achieved their goal of financial and creative independence.
John reveals: “We didn’t get a penny of record royalties from the first three albums. What we were looking at in that point in time was basically to just look after ourselves and do it completely on our own.”
Roger Taylor: “It’s the long road to artistic, financial freedom which is so hard to find if you’re successful to any degree cos there’s a million sharks out there.”
In early 1978, just before they embarked on recording their Jazz album, Queen finally took full control of their business affairs :setting up three entities to operate and manage their creative endeavors: Queen Productions Limited, Queen Music Limited and Queen Films Limited. This was at the time a highly unusual move for a band, but testament to their belief in their forward musical journey.
For the day-to-day running of the business, Queen turned to Jim Beach, who they had first met in 1975 when the band’s quest for financial independence truly began. It was a meeting that left a lasting impression on Jim.
He recalls that first meeting: “I first met Queen when I was a solicitor at Harbottle and Lewis in London. I was a partner, and I was running what was then a very fledgling music department. It was a show-business firm, and we were used to fairly bizarre clients, but I remember when Queen arrived, the receptionist telephoned me and said, ‘Mr. Beach, Queen are here,’ and I said.’Yes, fine, would you like to send them up.’ And she whispered down the phone, she said, ‘have you seen them?’”
“And I said, ‘well yes,’ she said, ‘well one of them’s got nail varnish on.’ And I said, ‘well really?’ ‘Yes, black nail varnish.’ And I said, ‘well fine,’ ‘yes, but it’s only on one hand.’ And I said, ‘don’t be silly, come on, send them up’. I always remember Freddie walked in first, they sat down, and Freddie kicked straight off by saying, we’ve recorded three albums, our manager’s just bought his second Rolls Royce, and we’re on sixty quid a week, so something’s wrong.’”
But it wasn’t just the business side where Queen wanted to be masters of their own destiny; their News of The World album had proved that in the studio they were also ready to take full control.
John Deacon: ”It comes to a stage where all you really need is an engineer, because the idea of balancing and sounds you want, an artist or musician should really know what they want. And the only person needed to implement that is an engineer. And when you’re doing a mix, when you’re mixing down the track from the tapes, I mean it’s setting it up and then we actually sit down and work the controls as well.”
On that occasion, long-time Queen Engineer Mike Stone had become the invaluable assistant that enabled the band to enjoy the creative freedom they craved in the studio.
This independence had been hard fought for, and after seven years together, when most bands might be coming to their natural end, Queen had finally successfully maneuvered themselves into a position where they could go from strength to strength.
Billboard Music Awards nominee and diamond selling DJ/producer Alan Walker announces the release of his in-concert film The Aviation Movie on YouTube. The unique five part series, which took almost two years to create, combines footage from the Oslo Spektrum stop on Walker’s Aviation Tour and a narrative arc from the Walker cinematic universe.
Woven in between the tracks and concert footage is a dynamic storyline from the World of Walker: after an apocalyptic event, a young woman, armed only with the AW logo, is on a journey to save the world. Along the way, she learns new skills and ultimately rebuilds society with the help of the like-minded Walker community. The film also features appearances by Walker’s collaborators Steve Aoki, Au/Ra, Isak, Iselin Solheim, Juliander, Julie Bergan, Omar Noir, Sophia Somajo, Tomine Harket, and Torine.
Walker also released The Aviation Game, an arcade-style iOS & Android mobile game developed by award winning indie studio Hello There Games. The game’s action, steering a drone through a challenging obstacle course, is directly derived from the plot of The Aviation Movie.
Alan Walker explains: “Live music has obviously been on hold throughout the pandemic, and I know that I’m not the only one who misses the magic of concerts. My hope for fans who watch The Aviation Movie is for them to experience that special feeling once again and to look forward to the day when we can connect in person.”
About Alan Walker
Since the 2018 release of his debut album, Different World, containing global sensation singles like the diamond selling “Faded,” “Alone,” and “All Falls Down,” Alan Walker has played over 600 headline festival and arena shows, picked up two Norwegian Grammy wins, and earned a Billboard Music Awards nomination. Walker is the 9th most followed artist on YouTube and the 20th most followed artist on Spotify, which displays the strength of his fanbase.
Walker holds over 120 million followers and 50 billion audio and video streams to his name, has previously teamed up with massive hit makers such as Ava Max, Noah Cyrus, and A$AP Rocky, and has produced remixes for internationally renowned artists such as Sia, Coldplay, Kygo, Bruno Mars, and Julia Michaels.
Amassing over 100 million streams and drawing praise from Billboard and more, fast-rising Country star Kidd G shares a new break up anthem entitled “Break Up Song,” out today via Rebel Music / Geffen Records. Written by Kidd G, Rhett Akins, and JT Harding, the new song is available now at all digital retailers along with its accompany music video, which seamlessly brings to life the experience of moving on after a relationship ends.
On the track, the buzzing singer and songwriter waves goodbye to an ex with clever and catchy barbs and an unshakable guitar riff. He toasts on the chantable chorus, “Cheers to a breakup song, Forever 21, I’ll party all night long,” before admitting, “The worst part is I even had to make this song!”
Earlier this month, Kidd G dropped the yearning “Last Call,” which has already gathered half-a-million total streams and north of 567K YouTube views on the music video. It notably marked his first release under the alliance of Rebel Music / Geffen Records and Big Machine Label Group’s The Valory Music Co., which was announced exclusively via Billboard.
Be on the lookout for more music very soon from Kidd G.
Along with officially surpassing 100K subscribers on YouTube last month, he recently enlisted longtime country music heavyweight Colt Ford to assist with a remix to his viral hit song “Down The Road”. Both achievements arrive on the heels of Kidd G’s full-length project, Teenage Dream: 1000 Miles from Georgia, the deluxe version of his debut EP, Teenage Dream, a six-track project which features a collision of potent beats and gritty yet melodic guitar work working together on the 18-year-old’s first solid body of work. Throughout the EP, that sound creates a powerful backdrop to the slice-of-life songwriting many fans first discovered on “Dirt Road” — the October 2020 release that quickly landed on the Billboard Hot Country Songs and amassed 5 million YouTube views in little over a month on the official music video (16M views to date). The Georgia-bred singer/songwriter recently caught the attention of CMT, who hailed his music as “earwarming and undeniable”, and THE NEW YORK TIMES, who exclusively profiled him earlier this year online and in print.
Today, rising Atlanta-based artist, singer, MC, personality, and Love & Hip-Hop: Atlanta star Akbar V unleashed her brand new single “Owe Me Something.”
On the track, she flaunts flare and confidence while unloading bars against hard-hitting hooks. Her energizing flow oozes over as she touts, “These bitches acting like they owe me something.” In the accompanying visual, she exudes boss energy while sporting gold-laden jewelry and sipping expensive drank.
Recently, she dropped Right Now.” It has already posted up north of 233K Spotify streams and increased her momentum.
Stay tuned for a whole lot more from “The Queen of Atlanta” soon.
Singer Songwriter Brynn Cartelli has released her debut EP Based On A True Story, available now at all DSPS and streaming services (EP artwork/tracklisting below). The EP arrives alongside a heartwarming lyric video for “Jane” featuring home footage from her childhood, available now on Brynn’s official YouTube channel.
Returning to her hometown of Longmeadow, MA after the surreal experience of winning NBC’s season 14 of The Voice and touring with Kelly Clarkson, Brynn became hyperaware of getting back to her normal life as a teen. Based On A True Story is a snapshot of the time she spent reconnecting with friends, being observant, and really honing into what being young is about.
Cartelli comments on the EP, “Based On A True Story is the foundation of who I am as a singer-songwriter. Writing this project brought me back home, back with my friends and family. I was finally able to comment on my high school and teenage experience from an honest place. It feels like I’m opening up my diary for the world to read, and I could not be more terrified and excited all at once.”
Brynn takes seemingly small moments from typical suburban experiences and turns them into candid, anthemic pop ballads that people of all ages can relate to. The previously unreleased “Imaginary Stranger” fulfills a wish she held for years, vividly detailing her connection to her grandfather who passed away from lung cancer six years before her birth. Then, there’s the piano-driven “Love You In My Mind,” which is based off a collection of stories from fans who were obsessing over crushes. Blossoming from an acoustic intro into a bouncy refrain, the buoyant “We Belong” captures an idyllic moment of teen freedom and friendship in lines like, “We didn’t get invited to the party it’s fine, so we’ll sit around the fire and we’ll talk about life.” As the final addition to the EP, “Jane” pairs a powerhouse vocal performance with lullaby-style instrumentation that sees Brynn imagining what it would be like if she was someone else specifically choosing the name Jane because that’s almost what her mom had named her.
Co-written by Brynn and Ben Abraham (Demi Lovato, Sara Bareilles, and Kesha), “If I Could” which has already seen over 2 million streams, is Brynn’s message to a friend in a one-sided relationship, “If I could do it for you, then I would say, Goodbye.” She originally shared a snippet of the song through a post on Tik Tok that has amassed over 8 million views and recently performed the track on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
“Long Way Home” co-written by Brynn and Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swift, Kylie Minogue and Colbie Caillat), was the first track released off the EP and her first new music since 2019, attracting praise as People named Brynn among its “Emerging Artists to Watch.” Directed by Blythe Thomas (Julia Michaels, Hozier, Grace Vanderwall), the official video for the track sees Brynn and her real-life friends driving around New York City, singing and dancing through the streets of Greenwich Village and Times Square, and even celebrating her friend Piper’s 18th birthday with a surprise cake.
Japan-born songstress Grace Aimi (eye-me) released her new video for “Rainbow” off her debut EP PICNIC. Watch HERE. “Rainbow” is a haunting and hypnotic love song. The video is directed by Takuto Shimpo is eerie and spellbinding as Grace’s vocals charm a hotel’s naive bellhop. The song is complemented by trap-pop beats. “Rainbow” is a darker take on PICNIC which showcases Grace’s knack for creating airy pop-fused R&B music. The song is at the same time catchy and beautifully strange.
Merging the intimacy and imagination of bedroom-pop with the lush and languid grooves of R&B, PICNIC includes previously released singles like “True Feelings” (a sweetly melancholy piece laced with bluesy acoustic guitar work), and “My Eyes” (a piano-driven song that landed on Apple Music’s New in Pop playlist). In addition, PICNIC opens with Grace‘s debut single “Eternal Sunshine,” a gorgeously quirky meditation on the meaning of happiness. All throughout the EP, Grace shows her gift for crafting unforgettable melodies, as well as her soft and subtle but endlessly commanding vocal presence.
About Grace Aimi:
Twenty-year-old biracial songstress Grace Aimi began her career with her brother posting covers in both Japanese and English on their YouTube channel, “Gracie and Gabe.” Grace’s radiant but raspy voice complemented her brother playing his ukulele as they performed covers of artists like Ed Sheeran, Anne-Marie, and Post Malone, among others. Their videos quickly garnered buzz, earning over 10M views in total before Grace made her debut as a solo artist. In August 2020, Grace released her summer-y debut single, “Eternal Sunshine” (a track produced by Chaki Zulu, who’s known for his work with Japan’s hottest hip-hop artists). With her debut EP due out soon, Grace’s global upbringing and angelic yet husky vocals make her a force to be reckoned with.
